Washington D.C.
Its a quagmire I tell ya!
If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in theater in Iraq during the last 22 months, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.
The rate in DC is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington.

I always knew Washington was a dangerous place. I think handguns are banned in NY and Conn. unless you have a permit. You need to find those States Stats Linda!

Of course, if people don't want to evacuate DC, they could settle for the obvious solution: lighten up on the handgun restrictions.

Sigh. When will people learn to quote statistics in a meaningful way, that shows they have a clue about what they mean?
The "rate" must be specifically quantified. Is that per 100,000 per annum? Per month? Per day? Per hour? Per century?
Pleaase. Comprehend before you communicate.

I love it - first the sarcasm - bravo! Then reading the comments of one who misses the point, fatally lacking a sense of humor *sigh*.
Nice post, Linda :-)
