Happy Monday
Flat tire in the rain.
lousy way to start the week
guess I'm late for work
wife beater next door
yesterday I called the cops
no coincidence
I was coming back from the auto parts store with my can of fix-a-flat. I see her walking up the alley with him behind her in the car. She stops in front of my car, does a little dance which ends with her pointing at my tire.
So. The tire was slashed, on the side.
Time to move.

Another Union Victory
Rather than accept a fair and impartial agreement on workers’ wages and benefits, the United Food & Commercial Workers Canada has destroyed the livelihoods of 200 working families.
Wal-Mart said it was shuttering the store in Jonquiere, Quebec, in response to unreasonable demands from union negotiators that would make it impossible for the store to sustain itself. The store will close in May.

Pierre Martineau, left, and Patrice Bergeron, two of the
Wal-Mart workers who initiated the unionization, stand
in front of the store they have forced to close.
Claudia Tremblay, a cashier at the store, said many employees burst into tears when managers told them the news Wednesday morning.
"Many people cried, including myself," Tremblay said. "I'm a mother of two children and I'm separated from my husband. It's very difficult."
Tremblay said she abstained from the unionization vote. She said she was upset her noncommittal stance won't save her job.
Now, they think a petition is going to save them. How do you force a retailer to keep a store open, a store that was already losing money and has now been pushed beyond hope of recovery by unreasonable union demands?
You don't.

Sod Off Swampy!
Jeepers. I took a peek at Aldaynet. Lo! Behold! I found out I have the distinct honor of being the 100th Member of the Republican Attack Squad. Cool!
Good thing I peeked over there because had I not, I would have missed this story:
From the Times Online:
When 35 Greenpeace protesters stormed the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) yesterday they had planned the operation in great detail.
What they were not prepared for was the post-prandial aggression of oil traders who kicked and punched them back on to the pavement.
"We bit off more than we could chew. They were just Cockney barrow boy spivs. Total thugs," one protester said, rubbing his bruised skull. "I’ve never seen anyone less amenable to listening to our point of view."
Hey Moonbat, by your own admission: "Greenpeace had hoped to paralyse oil trading at the exchange in the City near Tower Bridge on the day that the Kyoto Protocol came into force." The floor does business by open outcry in the pit. So, you go running into a place of business blowing whistles and sounding fog horns, with intent to "paralyse trading." Who are the thugs in this story? Instead of achieving your goal, you get your ass kicked. You're surprised? Hmph. Guess that's why you're a moonbat.
"They grabbed us and started kicking and punching. Then when we were on the floor they tried to push huge filing cabinets on top of us to crush us."
Ahahahahaha! What a kodak moment that must have been! The article says "they were set upon by traders, most of whom were under the age of 25."
"The violence was instant," Jon Beresford, 39, an electrical engineer from Nottingham, said. "They were kicking and punching men and women indiscriminately," a photographer said. "It was really ugly, but Greenpeace did not fight back."
Photographer? There was a photographer? Pictures! I want pictures!
Mr Beresford said: "They followed the guys into the lobby and kept kicking and punching them there. They literally kicked them on to the pavement."
Last night Greenpeace said two protesters were in hospital, one with a suspected broken jaw, the other with concussion.
Aww... poor moonbats. The story mentions that the moonbats used a couple of vans to transport themselves, one can only assume that the vans required the use of oil. Buncha hypocrites.
The only downside to this story is that there will probably be some lawsuits filed. On Monday I'm gonna call the oil floor and give 'em a round of good cheer and applause.

Time to Fight Back
If you know anything about me at all, you know how I feel about this:
SOUTH TOLEDO -- Police still have no arrests in a vandalism case. Anti-war protesters targeted a local military recruiting office by painting an obscenity, and throwing a bucket of manure at the building.
An e-mail sent to News 11 by a group calling itself "War is S***" claimed responsibility. In its correspondence and its graffiti, the group replaces those asterisks with an obscenity. In its e-mail, the group says, "In a nation fueled by murderous lies, we can think of nothing more appropriate than expressing our disgust in this inappropriate fashion."
The obscene war protest doesn't end there. Graffiti with the same "War is S***" phrase is plastered around the city. One message was left on a building in back of the Arby's Restaurant on Talmadge Road.
People who saw the broken window of the recruiting office are outraged. "If they don't like this country that much they should do it the right way by changing with votes. Shouldn't do it with actions like that," said Steve Klostermeier, a bystander. Mike Gibson agreed, saying, "I think it's terrible. I think they're blaming the people who fought to give them the right to do stuff like that. They should have the courage to stand up and say it rather than doing stuff like that."
Toledo Police are investigating the vandalism. Army Captain William Wedley works at the recruiting office. He says since it is a police matter, he's not commenting.
This must be stopped.

Forsake the Troops is Gone!
UPDATE II: I have nothing but respect for SMIS Hosting, they nuked that nasty site.
and write them a little thank you note. They deserve it!
It seems the Small Mike, who took it down (SMIS Hosting) is the same guy who put it up in the first place (thanks Eric). Good ole Mike tried to blame his own actions on the fictional "Scott and Lauire Vogel." The man is obviously a coward who doesn't have the balls to admit to his own shit. Despite his attempts at coverup, he was exposed, check out the thread at Conservative Friends.
So, that abomination is gone and.... replaced with another abomination. Good ole Small Mike is a white supremist and he's come out of the closet. (thanks to Six Meat Buffet for the tip). I've removed all links to Small Mike's site from this post, let it sink in the obscurity it deserves.

Marine Cleared of Wrongdoing!
What happens when you send an anti-war activist to Iraq with our Marines? You get an ordinary war time incident blown out of proportion and presented in such a way that a good soldier ends up accused of war crimes.
In November, 2004, one of our brave fighting men came under 'investigation' for shooting a terrorist who was pretending to be dead in a mosque. Of course, the media spun it as the 'shooting of a innocent, wounded, unarmed Iraqi.'
As we took Fallujah back from the terrorists, several of our Marines who approached supposed dead or wounded terrorists were themselves wounded or killed. This Marine was in a situation where he felt he was in danger and his fellow soldiers were in danger. This is war and this Marine did his duty.
Unfortunately, his unit was infiltrated by the enemy, Kevin Sites, an anti-war activist who was imbedded as a "journalist." To promote his anti-America agenda, Sites produced film and commentary which accused this Marine of murder. Pictures such as this one, lifted from Sites' video, flooded the news:

Of course, his fellow anti-America assholes got their panties twisted and called out for the blood of our Military. End result: request denied. That's right!
GOOD NEWS: If you can get past the bias and slant in the latest MSM report by CBS on this incident, you will find out that this Marine will NOT be prosecuted for his action.
There are other members of our Military who are caught up as pawns in the leftist agenda to punish the troops who are doing their duty and protecting this Country. Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano is their next target. Marine Second Lieutenant Pantano is not just under investigation, Lt. Pantano has been charged with murder.
Lt. Pantano needs your help and support. What can you do? Well, first of all, you can raise your voice in outrage over the charges against him:
Department of Defense: 703-428-0711
House/Senate Contact: 202-224-3441
USMC Public Relations: 703-614-1492
Department of Defense: contact board
President Bush: president@whitehouse.gov
VP Cheney: vicepresident@whitehouse.gov
You can head over to DefendTheDefenders.org and cough up a bit of cash to help this Marine defend himself against this ridiculous murder charge.

Hold Muh Beer...
Looks like this guy might one day give the killer senator from Mass a little competition...
MIAMI, United States (AFP) - A state prosecutor in Florida's island city of Key West is under arrest after he allegedly ran naked and drunk across a parking lot and hopped into the wrong car.
Albert Tasker of the local state prosecutor's office told police he had been drinking with friends and thought it would be funny to take off his clothes and run to a friend's car in the parking lot, according to the Florida Keys Citizen.
But Tasker, 28, apparently got into the back seat of the wrong car, much to the distress of the woman in the vehicle.
Probably seemed like a really good idea at the time.

A Celebration of Death
Its time once again to celebrate the holy islamic holiday of Ashura. In order to participate, you will need a sharp sword and metal chains to flagellate yourself in this unique Religion of Peace ceremony. You will also need white robes to show off the blood and gore to your fellow celebrants. Children and horses are expected to participate.
Some of you may be horrified to see these pictures but you are urged to remember that this is but one more way to worship the Prophet of Doom a/k/a Allah, and despite appearances to the contrary, this is a religion and not a cult. In fact, it is the Religion of Peace.
Therefore, this type of behavior is not to be considered abuse, even when it is children who are being beaten and bloodied with swords and chains.
So shut up and enjoy the show. You might as well get used to these images, after all, if the left has its way, you will soon be able to view these things first hand in the streets of America. In fact, you will probably be expected to participate, that is, of course, if you would like to keep your head.

Feel like praying yet?
The origins of Ashura: When the Omayyad Moslem army arrived at Karbala, Ali, the last blood relative of Mohammed, found that his Shiite army had deserted him. He rode out with about 30 of his closest followers, and they were slaughtered. Shiite muslim flaggelate and mutilate themselves on the each anniversary of his death to show remorse for deserting him before the battle.

Playing with Poo
The Germans are on poo patrol. I keep wanting to be pissed off about this, but deep down, I really just want to laugh. It is just so damn stupid.
Police in Germany are hunting pranksters who have been sticking miniature US flags into piles of dog poo in public parks.
Jeepers. I wonder how that idea came about, and what kind of drugs were involved. What will the moonbats think of next?
The series of incidents was originally thought to be some sort of protest against the US-led invasion of Iraq.
And then when it continued it was thought to be a protest against President George W. Bush's campaign for re-election.
But it is still going on and the police say they are completely baffled as to who is to blame.
"We have sent out extra patrols to try to catch whoever is doing this in the act," said police spokesman Reiner Kuechler.
"But frankly, we don't know what we would do if we caught them red handed."
Charge them with littering maybe? Oh how ridiculous these poor pathetic excuses for human beings are, they want to be noticed so badly that they will do anything, anything for attention.

Defend the Defenders
I see hundreds of them on the road and in parking lots every day. All different colors and designs. Some yellow, some red, white and blue, some a combination. They all say the same thing. There is a yellow one on the back of my truck right now.
Support the Troops.
A fine notion, and one that America has not truly embraced since WWII. There were plenty of troops to support in-between now and then. I attended Support the Troops rallies during Desert Storm, including one on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami. Now the only rallies we see there are the anti-war rallies run by socialist/communists who consider America to be the enemy.
But, there are all those magnets. All those people who claim to support the troops. Spend your $5.00, stick it on the back of your vehicle and go on your merry way, doing all the day to day things in your life made possible by those very same troops.
What if... what if you met one of those troops face to face. One of those troops who spent several nights sleeping in a hollow in the sand, like those pictures you saw last year in your email? One of those troops who went door to door in Fallujah, under fire by terrorists. One of those troops who fired back, protecting himself, his unit, and yes, protecting you in the process.
Would you show him your magnet?

During the peak of insurgent violence in mid April of 2004, hundreds of Marines and soldiers were being killed and wounded throughout the "Sunni Triangle." Terrorists, captured while trying to recover a vehicle used in an earlier attack on the Marines, had given detailed information about a supply of weapons and terrorist hideout.
Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano and his platoon were hastily dispatched to search. Their search revealed weapons, ammunition, mortar equipment, bomb-making material and two fleeing terrorists. In an ensuing search of the terrorists’ vehicle, Lt. Pantano, concerned for his safety and the safety of his men, shot them both in self defense and then disabled their vehicle so it could not be used in further attacks. He and his men went on to fight with distinction and honor in Fallujah and the surrounding areas and, when possible, aided in the reconstruction effort.
Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano now faces a murder charge for his actions in Fallujah, actions that not only saved his life, but the lives of his men and, the lives of countless innocent Iraqi civilians.
There is no doubt in my mind or my heart, or my conscience that Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano was right to do what he did. His life was indeed in danger, his men were in danger, his mission was in danger.
Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano is many things. An American. A Marine. A husband. A son. A father. One thing Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano is not. He is not a criminal.
Marine Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano deserves the very best defense against these charges that America has to offer. Will he get it? I hope so, and I am sure you hope so too.
But, like the magnets on the back of all those cars, hope is not going to do much to support this Marine and the other troops like him, who are caught up as pawns in the leftist agenda to punish the troops who are doing their duty and protecting this Country.
I urge you to do a little more then just hope that this Marine is adequately defended against this ridiculous charge. Please head over to DefendTheDefenders.org and help. Put your money where your mouth is. Send the price of a magnet if that's all you can afford. But send something.
Support the Troops. Semper Fi!

Old Sarge Gets a Care Package
Sergeant Vaughn got a care package today. It’s been almost forty years since I got my last one, a case of twenty-four #2½ cans of sliced peaches from my father. Memory fails me now, but I don’t believe I ever asked before he died what it cost to mail that monster, but it must have been a pretty hefty hit in the wallet for a lifelong blue-collar worker. I had happened to mention in one of my rare letters home from Vietnam that canned, sliced peaches were my favorite item in our C Rations even if they were twenty years old. We could date them because the small cigarette packs enclosed with the rations were frequently Lucky Strikes in the old green packages that were phased out in the forties.
In any event, at mail call back in the rear area, the company clerk yells out, “Sergeant Vaughn! Care package!” and I responded with a somewhat surprised “Yo!” Stepping front and center I stared with momentary incomprehension at the large, heavily taped and badly battered, cardboard box at the clerk’s feet. He made no move to pick it up and hand it to me; he just grinned and said, “That heavy sucker’s all yours from here on, Sarge.” As I bent to pick it up, I noticed the silvery glint of the top of a can and a bit of green label through one of the torn corners and awareness dawned: son of a gun, my Old Man had come through for me! In spades!
The box was indeed heavy but it was a welcome burden for a twenty-five year old paratrooper in the best shape of his life; a few months of conducting patrols and operations in the mountains, jungles and paddies of Vietnam had made me a “lean, mean, Airborne trooper.” When I got it back to my hooch, I cut the top from the box with my jump knife and gazed in awe at twenty-four, count ‘em, twenty-four cans, number two and a half cans at that, great big ol’ cans of Del Monte sliced peaches. At that moment, I had to be the peaches king of Vietnam. Man, this was even better than the case of Tootsie Rolls my sister had mailed a couple of months earlier.
My unit was on stand down in the rear area at Tuy Hoa air base for a few days and for those few days, I felt indeed like the peaches king of Vietnam. I handed out peaches to my fellow troopers, sharing my good fortune with my brothers, as was our custom. But I must confess, I squirreled away several cans for leaner times. I was constantly peppered with, “Hey, Sarge, you got any more a’ them peaches?” And by occasionally producing a can, I kept that particular query alive for more than a couple of weeks.
I’d forgotten all that until today. Today, Sergeant Vaughn got a care package from a sweet woman in Oregon named Claudia, a military widow, self-described as “deaf as a door knob.” Claudia, it seems, had read a poem sent to her by her brother, an Army retiree, a former paratrooper in my old division, the 101st Airborne, who correctly surmised she might share the author’s sentiments. The poem is entitled, “Fightin’ Words,” and I am that author. I had cobbled it together in angry response to the mainstream media’s carping, hypercritical response to a widely broadcast incident in Fallujah, where a reporter had videotaped a young Marine administering a coup de grace to a terrorist. The poem happened to catch the mood of many Americans and was widely disseminated via the Internet and even read on a nationally broadcast talk radio show.
Exhibiting the martial spirit befitting the widow of a career soldier, Claudia decided to do something for the trooper who had written the poem. Those who read my rants on a regular basis are aware that any time I write on a military topic, I sign my work with my military credentials to establish my bonafides to render my opinions on warfare and ground combat. Claudia, seeing my unit designation, somehow missed the Vietnam 65-66 in the last line and assumed a young soldier in Iraq had written the poem. So she set about to send a box of goodies to him as reward. Once she had it all assembled and packaged, she took it to the post office, but they refused to accept it without an APO. She called the Army recruiter in Coos Bay who graciously called Ft. Bragg, home of the 82d Airborne, the last remaining paratrooper division, and my last duty post in 1967. Nope, Staff Sergeant Vaughn’s not here, try Ft. Campbell, that’s the 101st ‘s home base. There she was told they could not give out soldiers’ APO addresses for security reasons.
Frustrated, Claudia called her ex-paratrooper brother who contacted some of the men he had served with at Ft. Campbell, which had, in fact, been my primary duty station, although forty years earlier. From someone he learned that I was no longer in the service and there was no forwarding address. Now the motto of the Airborne is “All the way,” meaning you never give up; you never stop moving forward until the mission is completed. Well, Claudia’s brother, even at seventy-five, is still a paratrooper. Somehow, someway, he kept hard charging until he found me and sent Claudia my address. He sensibly advised her to forget about the care package and just send me a card.
Nope, not this determined widow; the box arrived today, and after my initial stunned surprise, left me with a pleasant quandary. I don’t know whether to eat all that good stuff or close it back up and forward it to some young trooper with the 82d Airborne, now serving in Iraq. I sure don’t need all those calories but, dang, I never got a care package from a non-family member; they didn’t do much of that in my unpopular war. So I guess I’ll sleep on it. Or maybe I’ll have a late-night snack. Is this a great country or what?
Thanks, Claudia, I think you would have made one hell of a paratrooper.

My First Filthy Lie
Glenn Reynolds Sells His Conscience on EBay
Not only can you sell your soul to the devil but now you can sell your conscience on Ebay.
At least that's what Glenn Reynolds is trying to do.
Reynolds is selling his conscience on the auction website so he won't feel bad about the energy drink he has been consumming for years - a drink whose primary ingredient is "puppy."
Reynolds was first exposed on the internet by Blogger Frank J of IMAO as saying: "It's my special energy drink to keep me fit and my intellect sharp," and "the cuter the puppy, the better the energy drink."
"I was not motivated to do this by money," said Reynolds, when asked about the auction of his conscience, "and I don't really feel guilty either. I got the idea when my mommy asked where my conscience was. Its more of a symbolic thing, I'm doing it to please my mommy."
The bidding started at $0.01 and the auction, now in its second month, has not generated much interest. The highest bid is currently $0.02.
The current highest bidder, who has declined to give his name, has made demands that the auction be closed and the transaction be completed, threatening a lawsuit if it is not. Reynolds, however, has declined to do so, stating "I was hoping to get at least a nickel."
But the truth behind the open auction may be more complex. Although Reynolds has claimed, "I am determined to hold out for my price, no matter how long it takes," an unidentified Reynolds insider reports that Reynolds cannot find his conscience and in fact, hasn't seen his conscience for years. "He has been having a non-stop tizzy fit for weeks now, guzzling puppy juice and trying to remember where he lost it."
(This filthy lie is brought to you by The Goddess of Truth for the Alliance of Free Blogs - its a filthy lie - spread it!)

How Was Your Day?
By Ben Stein in the American Spectator
Meet Corporal John Quinones, whose family I brought out to L.A. for a little vacation a few weeks ago. He was home on leave from nineteen months in Iraq after six months in Afghanistan. He's 25 years old. He was in the reserves, but he signed up for the Regular Army after 9/11. "I wanted to go to war against those people," he said.
With him came his wife, Yenncy, holding their one-year daughter Samantha. She doesn't really know her father because he's been away fighting in Iraq for the whole time she has been alive except for one week when she was born.
Yenncy also cares for their two year old, Chris, who also barely knows his father because his father has been figh ting for our children, whom he does not even know.
Corporal Quinones is with the 2/7, the second battalion of the seventh brigade of the First Cavalry Division. His unit went right down the main street of Fallujah in Bradley fighting vehicles when that city was cleared of major terrorist bases a few months ago. He saw numbers of his close friends "lit up" or shot in the battle. He survived, although he has shrapnel in his neck and in his ankle from a mortar attack at about the same time.
His standard day involved working with a unit of the Iraqi National Guard to go out on patrols. He says the ones who believe in a free Iraq are among the bravest men he has ever worked with. "They don't even look for cover when the shooting starts," he says. "They just shoot it out until either they or the bad guys are dead." Out of the ten best ones in the unit, all ten have been murdered by the terrorists.
Tears came to his eyes when he told me that.
He goes out on patrol carrying a short barrel assault rifle called an M-4, a M-79 rocket launcher with high explosive rounds, a Glock pistol, and an AK-47 plated in silver he took from one of Saddam's palaces and which he will leave in Iraq. He wears almost 100 pounds of body armor in 140 degree heat. His unit is attacked with roadside bombs almost every day, hit with rocket-propelled grenades almost every day, often shelled with mortars. They go on raids in the middle of the night driving with lights out and night vision goggles, exchanging tracer fire with insurgents. His Bradley was hit with a RPG about two weeks ago. He only survived because his B-240 machine gun took the brunt of the explosion.
He says that when mortars hit or an IED goes off, "I don't think, I just do." He loves the Army and wants to stay in his whole career if he can.
His wife cries when she hears him talk about going back to Iraq after his leave, which he did on February 5.
For what he does, he gets paid $1,900 a month, which includes combat pay. He doesn't have any credit cards or a computer. He told me confidentially that when he gets up in a tree and spots terrorists laying a roadside bomb and lights them up with his B-240, he feels as if he's earning his pay. His wife cries at that, too.
What did you do today?

Kerry had a Plan?
Once again, the rumor surfaces. Does anyone besides John Kerry remember Kerry's Plan? I don't, because I never heard it. Of course, it could be because I never did get my secret agent decoder ring, they were supposed to ship from Cambodia just in time for Christmas but alas, mine never arrived.
"I think my security proposals for the country were smack on, dead on. I think that had they started to do the things I proposed on Iraq when I proposed them, we would be far better off today. And they are, in fact, now trying to do some of the things that I proposed." - John Kerry
Reflecting on the presidential campaign, Kerry said he had proposed "a far more effective way to make America safer."
Jeepers, my memory fails me. Did The Great Pretender have a plan? What exactly was that plan anyway? Was it the plan where he first voted for the war and then voted not to fund it? Was it the plan to cut military spending after we upped the number of troops by 40,000? The Great Pretender had a plan to make us safer? I missed that plan too? Oh wait, was that part of his plan to turn over our military and our safety to the consortium of dictators known as the United Nations?
"Americans accepted that I could be the commander in chief. What they were unwilling to do was shift commanders in midstream." - John Kerry
Huh? Which Americans were those and which alternative universe do they live in? This might be funny, were it not so pathetic. I seem to recall the numbers reflected overwhelming support for George W. Bush as Commander in Chief. I seem to recall that America as a whole rejected the notion of The Great Pretender as Commander in Chief.
Will this man ever drop his delusions of grandeur?
The truth is that America accepted the fact that John Kerry is a liar and hypocrite who used the reputation of our Vietnam Veterans as stepping stones to further his political ambitions. America accepted the fact that John Kerry is not fit to be dogcatcher, but is perhaps perfectly suited to play second fiddle to the killer senator from Massachusetts.
Sign the 180 Johnny boy. Sign the 180.
(Thanks Warren, for the quotes.)

21 Bum Salute
'Tis 2005, a new year and a new quest... to find the ever-popular Moonbat of the Year. Looks like there is gonna be a lot of competition this year:
Police ordered naked cyclists to get their gear back on in central Auckland yesterday, after arresting their leader for alleged indecent exposure.
Even so, motorists were treated to a "21-bum" salute, equating to the number of scantily-clad cyclists who rode in convoy to protest against the world's dependency on oil-fuelled transport.
They all had to wear underpants or briefs after the police intervention, although several female cyclists were allowed to remain topless, with or without body paint.
The expose was part of the World Naked Bike Ride, a growing movement in which cyclists in 15 countries are daubing their flesh with anti-oil slogans to "reclaim the streets for people", Auckland organiser Simon Oosterman said.
Thats right kiddies, its the World Naked Bake Ride, coming soon to a city near you. They did St. Petersburg, Florida on Sunday but I can't find any news stories on it.
Of course, this is not a new thing, moonbats have been pedaling around naked for years now, for some reason, they will use any excuse to remove their clothing in public. This pic is from June 2004:

When I see this stuff, all I can think is.. Some people should never appear in public wearing only a pair of sneakers and a bicycle helmet. Why are there never any pretty people at these events?
If you are a moonbatologist, and wanna know when to show up with your camera, check the World Naked Bike Run website for details on upcoming cities. Warning... lots of pictures there.

Wow. Do you think they had the same contractor?
Talk about deja vu. The two pictures are exactly the same, one is just a crop of the first.

Once again, CNN proves itself as the foremost authority in how to mislead and misinform the public.
Jeepers. Somebody please tell Rush...

EasonGate
"Did Eason Jordan, chief news executive of CNN, actually say the American military has deliberately killed journalists covering the conflict in Iraq?"
Someone who was there answers the question:
By chance, I was in the audience of the World Economic Forum's panel discussion where Mr. Jordan spoke. What happened was this: Mr. Jordan observed that of the 60-odd journalists killed in Iraq, 12 had been targeted and killed by coalition forces. He then offered a story of an unnamed Al-Jazeera journalist who had been "tortured for weeks" at Abu Ghraib, made to eat his shoes, and called "Al-Jazeera boy" by his American captors.
Here Rep. Barney Frank, also a member of the panel, interjected: Had American troops actually targeted journalists? And had CNN done a story about it? Well no, Mr. Jordan replied, CNN hadn't done a story on this, specifically. And no, he didn't believe the Bush administration had a policy of targeting journalists. Besides, he said, "the [American] generals and colonels have their heart in the right place."
By this point, one could almost see the wheels of Mr. Jordan's mind spinning, slowly: "How am I going to get out of this one?" But Mr. Frank and others kept demanding specifics. Mr. Jordan replied that "there are people who believe there are people in the military" who have it out for journalists. He also recounted a story of a reporter who'd been sent to the back of the line at a checkpoint outside of Baghdad's Green Zone, apparently because the soldier had been unhappy with the reporter's dispatches.
And that was it -- the discussion moved on.
Will we ever see a transcript? Maybe in ten years one will surface, maybe not. CNN is very good at covering their tracks. So, Eason Jordan is unemployed. Ward Churchill, on the other hand is still employed on the speaking circuit. Lynne Stewart is convicted of what amounts to but is not called treason. John Kerry is free. Howard Dean is the DNC Chair.
George W. Bush is in the White House.
and... There is still time to vote.

Introducing... Operation Return Fire
Over the past month, because of attacks by comment spammers, I first closed the comments on all of my older posts. That didn't help much so I closed comments to unapproved users. But I was still inundated with emails generated by spammers trying to post their links on my site. I closed comments to unregistered users. and... what do you suppose happens? I get hit with trackback spam.
While searching for solutions, I found Interview with a link Spammer. Reality is that trackback spam is just not going to go away.
I have had quite enough of this nonsense. This is my website, I pay for it, and I don't like being a victim.
So, I had lots of ideas about what to do about it, but violence didn't seem to be the right answer and then there were feasibility problems. I rejected most of them but, one stuck around. It was such a happy thought, it would not go away. In fact, the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. And so... it began to grow... and eventually, it grew into... Operation Return Fire.

I was thinking... wouldn't it be a shame if those websites responsible for comment spam got what they wanted... as in... lots and lots and lots of traffic?
What if you, and every blogger you knew, and every blogger they knew, all visit the same website over and over again in the same 24 hour period? and... What if all your readers, and all their readers, also visited the same website over and over again in the same 24 hour period?
There are millions of bloggers, how many do you know? Can their server survive the traffic? Maybe. But if there are enough of us, probably not. And if the server survives, what would the bandwidth cost?
Jeepers. It would be such a shame if all those visits used up lots and lots of bandwidth while the links themselves did absolutely nothing to increase their web rank.
Time to Return Fire - I say we link them. And I mean, we all link them. One day a month. One Spammer of the Month. What could be wrong with asking our readers to visit a site that has posted links on our sites? They must want the link, after all, if they didn't, they wouldn't have posted their link. They really have nothing to complain about.
So. We all post a link to the Spammer of the Month on the same day, and visit them, over and over again, throughout the day. We invite our readers to do the same. That's what they want, isn't it?
If we all work together, we can give a little back, one spammer at a time. And... thanks to Google's no-follow link, we can give it back without increasing their web ranking.
Anybody with me? If so, you can click the pic to join Operation Return Fire.
Operation Return Fire will debut in April, or, as soon as I have enough particpants to make it worthwhile. I have already chosen the first Spammer of the Month but, in order to preserve the surprise, there will be no public posts about who it is, or on what day it will happen.
To join up, click the logo above, and please, spread the word! If there are not enough of us, I will simply abandon the project.

Guess I can't win...
Today is the last day to submit an entry to SlagleRock's contest... Design the new Flag of the Democratic National Committee. Since I am donating the prize to the winning entry, I guess I am disqualified for winning. Still, here is my entry and I thought it was a good one too...

Take a look at the other entries, here and here and be sure to let SlagleRock know who you think the winner should be. They are a hoot! If you haven't submitted an entry yet, there is still some time to send it to SlagleRock. Good luck!

The Lynne Stewart Verdict is in!
Guilty. Guilty. Guilty.

"The September 11 terrorist attacks on America were an "armed struggle" like Hiroshima and Dresden. I have a lot of trouble figuring out why that is wrong, especially when people are placed in a position of having no other way." Lynne Stewart
Yes Lynne. The September 11 terrorist attacks on America were what any rational thinking person would consider to be an act of war against of America, and you helped it happen.
Veteran civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart was convicted Thursday of helping terrorists by smuggling messages of violence from one of her imprisoned clients -- a radical Egyptian sheik -- to his terrorist disciples on the outside.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. This woman is truly an enemy of America. In her own words:
"I don't have any problem with Mao or Stalin or the Vietnamese leaders or certainly Fidel locking up people they see as dangerous. Because so often, dissidence has been used by the greater powers to undermine a people's revolution." Lynne Stewart
Yes Lynne, and I don't have any problem with the United States of America locking you up and locking you down too, with no outside communication with anyone for any reason, for the rest of your miserable life. You are a terrorist Lynne, and you are dangerous. And, if you are incarcerated, I think you should pay for your incarceration out of your own personal private funds, saving the taxpayers the cost of your three hots and a cot.
"I don’t believe in anarchistic violence, but in directed violence. That would be violence directed at the institutions which perpetuate capitalism, racism, and sexism, and the people who are the appointed guardians of those institutions, and accompanied by popular support." Lynne Stewart
Ya know Lynne, the more I get to know you, the more I think that I could support a bit of violence directed towards you in the form of capital punishment. In fact, I think the case could be made that incarceration is not the proper punishment for the terrorist that you are and that perhaps something a little more final might be appropriate. And, I think at least 61 million rational, thinking Americans would provide the requisite popular support for such a notion.
and during her trial:
"To rid ourselves of the entrenched, voracious type of capitalism that is in this country that perpetuates sexism and racism, I don't think that can come nonviolently." Lynne Stewart
What America really needs, Lynne, is rid itself of the entrenched voracious type of leftist thinking that perpetuates terrorism against Americans. You are the problem Lynne, not the solution.
Wanna know more about Lynne Stewart? Well, Moonbattery sums her up right here, and right here. (I pilfered the picture above from there - forgive me Van Helsing, but it was too good to pass up!)
I say let Justice be served:

Just a suggestion...

The Enemy Within - Update
We met Professor Ward Churchill the other day. Perhaps its time for America to meet the real Ward Churchill:
Churchill's claim that he is an Indian isn't an incidental boast, like John Kerry pretending to be Irish. It is central to his career, his writing, his political activism. Churchill has been the co-director of the American Indian Movement of Colorado, the vice chairperson of the American Indian "Anti-Defamation" Council, and an associate professor and coordinator of American Indian Studies at the University of Colorado.
By Churchill's own account, a crucial factor in his political development was "being an American Indian referred to as 'chief' in a combat unit" in Vietnam, which made him sad. This is known to con men everywhere as a "two-fer."
In addition to an absence of evidence about his Indian heritage, there is an absence of evidence that he was in combat in Vietnam. After the POW Network revealed that Churchill had never seen combat, he countered with this powerful argument: "They can say whatever the hell they want. That's confidential information, and I've never ordered its release from the Department of Defense. End of story." Maybe we should ask John Kerry to help Churchill fill out a form 180.
Ann Coulter exposes Churchill for the liar that he is and she does it as only Ann Coulter can. oh... and thanks Chrissie, for the tip!
It seems the good Professor has resigned from Chi-U but somehow, I don't think he is going to go away.

Welcome Home!

"I ain't no hero. That is one thing I wish could truly be clarified. I'm no more a hero than anyone over there. Every man, every woman that is not in the states, over there doing what they're doing…just to ensure that people here can enjoy their everyday life, and have the freedom that they do. They're all heroes." - Marine Lance Corporal James Blake Miller
But, you are a hero, to me and to many Americans, and to many Iraqis as well. Welcome home Marine Lance Corporal James Blake Miller! Thank you for serving the United States of America, and for protecting my personal freedom! I am forever grateful!

The Enemy Within
Meet Ward Churchill. Professor Ward Churchill. From the University of Colorado.
After 9/11, Churchill wrote an essay in which he compared those killed in the Sept. 11 attack to "little Eichmanns," a reference to Adolf Eichmann, who organized Nazi plans to exterminate European Jews.

In an interview Ward Churchill gave with Satya magazine, he was asked about the effectiveness of protests of U.S. policies and the Iraq war, and responded: "One of the things I've suggested is that it may be that more 9/11s are necessary."
The interview prompted Gov. Bill Owens to renew his call for Churchill's firing. "It's amazing that the more we look at Ward Churchill, the more outrageous, treasonous statements we hear from Churchill," Owens said.
Gov. Owens is right, and Chi-U is thinking about dismissal. Of course, Churchill says he'll sue. On Friday, he told CNN "I don't believe I owe an apology." Yeah well, America does not owe you anything either Ward, and if I had my way, this is what you would get.

This man grew up in the same America as we did. What the hell went wrong with him? What is it about "college professors" that makes them so anti-American? Does a few initials after your name and a bit of tenure cause a person to lose all sense of reality? Why are Americans forced to tolerate this kind of incitement to violence from those who are charged with the education of our children?
Ward is still the Chairman of Ethnic Studies at Chi-U. It appears that you can write the son-of-a-bitch here:

That'll Learn 'em
Wanita Renea Young taught two teenagers a lesson they won't soon forget:
Wanita filed a lawsuit seeking damages against the two girls for the distress they caused by giving her home-made cookies adorned with paper hearts.
The girls baked cookies as a surprise for several of their rural Colorado neighbors on July 31 and dropped off small batches on their porches, accompanied by red or pink paper hearts and the message: "Have a great night."
The evidence against the girls included thank you notes written by other neighbors who also received the cookies.
A Colorado judge ordered the girls to pay $871.70 plus $39 in court costs, proving once again that no good deed goes unpunished.

Tell It Like It Is
Cold Fury: You on the Left are not seriously concerned about the defense of this nation, its citizens, and its military personnel. You are dead wrong, and you do not deserve to be taken seriously.
Read the rest. It is simply outstanding.

What will it take?
Good news for the left: The brave freedom fighters and militants continue to fight our troops, and murder innocents, including children, using every opportunity and all ways and means at hand:
Disabled child in suicide attack
Terrorists used a disabled child as a suicide bomber on election day, Iraqi interior minister Falah al-Naqib said today.
In all, 44 people were killed in a total of 38 bomb attacks on polling stations. Police at the scene of one the Baghdad blasts said the bomber appeared to have Down's syndrome.
Mr Al-Naqib praised an Iraqi citizen who was killed while preventing one suicide bomber from reaching a crowd of people outside a polling station.
Do you suppose that human rights organizations cried out in horror of the use of a child with Down's Syndrome to murder innocent Iraqis? Do you suppose the left were offended by such an act?
What will it take before the left realizes that the "freedom fighters" they support against the United States of America are animals without morals or conscience, with an agenda the left cannot begin to comprehend?
