Give 'em what they deserve

James Taranto of the WSJ's Best of the Web nails it with a piece he calls Ship of Fools.

Ship of Fools features an "on the street" interview with this New Orleans resident, now displaced to Houston by Hurricane Katrina:

During the interview, he declined to give his name, said he's from New Orleans, and he says he is for the people. He complained that the ATM card given to him only had $700, not the full $2,000 he was expecting, and when asked what he would like to happen and what he wants, he had this to say:

"What I would like to happen? I would like for them to give us at least $20,000 apiece so we can, you know, get our life together. You know, we didn't ask to come on that bus, slave. It's like a slave ship. It's just like, you know, back in history, you know, they put us on a slave ship. They separated us from our family. They did it--you know, just modern-day slavery, you know? Just give us what the f--- we deserve."

Fo snizzle dude, you gots one of these:

What else could you want? I don't suppose you want a job or nothing like that, working for a living is too much like being a slave.

Would it make me a racist if I said I hope this "man for the people" gets exactly what he deserves? Surely not! and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Oh yes I do, and in fact, I'd like to give him what he deserves personally. Yes I would.

And I'll help you. He needs a swift kick in the butt for being such an ingrate.

Linda
I know you edit but quite frankly I went off on a rant about this at KisP (SondraK) the other night at this link which is probably better than my typing it here, if yo don't mind:

I'm #14 out of 22 replies. Great job on the RaceCard too! A big Bwa-ha-a-a-a-a-a-a!
That is EXACTLY the attitude of those 'type' of "Afro-Americans". Thank G-d he doesn't represent his race.
