Public Service Announcement
This is my little corner of the internet.
It belongs to me, LindaSoG. I bought it. I paid for it. It is mine, to do with as I choose.
Yes, it is possible to post a comment, but that does not mean that you have the right to post a comment. My blog, my rules. Complaining to the management that your misspelled and incoherent attack on the Troops, the President, the GOP, Karl Rove, the United States of America, Israel, Jewish people, me, my hair, my life, or my sex life did not appear is futile. Here's a news flash: I am the management. You have no rights here. But, you do have other options.
Since I won't subject my readers to vile drug induced rants by whiny-ass, hippy commie, pinko, terrorist-supporting enemies of my country, why don't you run along and post that crap over at the Daily Krock of Shit, or DU'h, m'kay? Or, you could get your own website and post it there, I'm pretty sure whineyasshippycommiepinkoterroristsupporter.blogspot.com is available. Or you could cut down on the drugs long enough to spend a few bucks out of your welfare check and register the domain for yourself.
Or you could just smoke some more crack, it makes no difference to me.

Peace Activists Taken Hostage
Al-Jazeera broadcast an insurgent video Tuesday showing four peace activists taken hostage in Iraq. The Swords of Righteousness Brigade said the four were spies working undercover as Christian peace activists.

But... but... you can't kill us, we're on your side!
Too bad that our Troops now have to deal with the search and rescue of these foolish people who have no business being in a war zone.
Update: The Jawa Report has extensive coverage.

More Good News from Iraq
Chances are you won't find this on the evening news, or in your local newspaper, because as it turns out, the Washington Times was the only news outlet to report this story:
Iraq's Red Crescent relief organization found its own way to mark the Thanksgiving holiday yesterday by announcing that it had sent a $1 million "thank you" donation to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The sum, transferred by wire on Sunday, amounts to 20 percent of the organization's annual budget.
"I wish we could have a billion dollars to give," Said Hakki, the organization's president, said by telephone from Baghdad. "Even then, it is not enough to show our appreciation for what the U.S. has done for Iraq and is still doing."
The donation was made with the approval of the office of Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari and is thought to mark the first time that Iraq has sent aid to the United States.
"Giving thanks is an Iraqi tradition as well as an American one. This is the minimum we could do after the Americans shed their blood in our country, mixing their blood with ours," he said.
He said the overthrow of dictator Saddam Hussein was "a blessing from God, and the U.S. was His tool."
Iraq, for the first time ever, sends aid to the United States and the media fails to report it. Imagine that.
But then, my local rag, the Miami Herald, did have this:
France has offered to fly over some of the city's musicians and provide them with rent-free residences and monthly stipends for up to three months, in hopes of compensating for concerts canceled after Hurricane Katrina.
and so did every other local rag.
Sickening, ain't it?

Illegal Voting
On November 28, 1872, a U.S. deputy marshall came to Susan B. Anthony's door and arrested her. The crime: on November 5, 1872, Susan B. Anthony cast her vote in the Presidential Elections. The charge: Illegal voting.
The Fourteenth Amendment, adopted in 1868, had declared that all people born in the United States were citizens and that no legal privileges could be denied to any citizen. Anthony decided to challenge this amendment. Saying that women were citizens and the amendment did not restrict the privilege of voting to men, she registered to vote in Rochester, New York, on November 1, 1872. Four days later, she and fifteen other women voted in the presidential election. All sixteen women were arrested, but only Anthony was brought before a court.
Her trial, United States v. Susan B. Anthony, began on June 17, 1873. The presiding judge opposed women's suffrage and wrote his decision before the trial even had started. Refusing to let Anthony testify, he ordered the jury to find her guilty, then sentenced her to pay a $100 fine. She refused to pay "a dollar of your unjust penalty," and no further action was taken against her.

Anthony spent the next fifty-plus years of her life fighting for the right to vote. She would work tirelessly: giving speeches, petitioning Congress and state legislatures, publishing a feminist newspaper--all for a cause that would not succeed until the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment fourteen years after her death in 1906.

Dear George
George Clooney has declared the past 12 months to be the worst year of his life, after dealing with death, depression and health problems. Bummer.

One highlight of his tale of woe: he found his dog with a rattlesnake wrapped around its neck, grabbed a baseball bat and beat the snake. In the process of beating the snake to death, he killed the dog the dog died. Yes folks, a rattlesnake, which is a viper and not a constrictor, tried to suffocate poor George's dog. In a land where there are no rattlesnakes.
Poor George. I am sure you will want to send him a message, you know, help cheer him up, like these good people:
Since our very lives hinge on how you feel George, I beg of you to move - to say France. You'll fit right in.
But wait... there's more...
George Clooney is suffering from depression?? Wasn't it George Clooney who was ridiculing and mocking Charleston Heston for having alzheimer's disease a year or so ago? Just goes to show, what goes around, comes around.
and...
After a year of absolute idiocy coming from you concerning MY country and MY President, the chance of you getting ANY sympathy from me is BELOW ZERO. You do absolutely nothing more than offend me with each and every word you mumble. I will NOT say I am glad you had a "bad" year, (bad karma) but I will say I do not feel badly for you in any shape or form. As a disguisting Liberal I am sure this will offend you, but GOD BLESS. (and by "GOD" I mean JESUS CHRIST)
and...
That's what Clooney gets for being a pussy commie his whole adult life.
I sure hope George gets his messages. I might make a comment myself, if I could stop laughing long enough to do so. Maybe later...

Public School Hell
Vermont high school teacher Bret Chenkin gave his students a quiz.
The quiz asked students to pick the proper words to complete sentences. One of the questions on the quiz:
"I wish Bush would be (coherent, eschewed) for once during a speech, but there are theories that his everyday diction charms the below-average mind, hence insuring him Republican votes."
"Coherent" was the right answer.
But teacher Bret Chenkin said his quizzes are being taken out of context. While he admits he isn't as conservative as some other teachers, he insists that he doesn't inflict his political views on his students.
Really?
"It is frightening the way the extreme Right has (balled, arrogated) aspects of the (U.S.) Constitution and warped them for their own agenda.""The governor (of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger,) should have been (excoriated, coherent) by the press for calling Democrats 'girlie-men' but instead was invited to speak at the Republican convention; it only goes to show what kind of people they are."...
I asked the principal "why does this man still have his job?" I won't hold my breath for an answer. What do you expect from a man who would name his daughter Maple Grey?

Suffer the Children
Terrorists Attack U.S. Toy Giveway:
A suicide attacker steered a car packed with explosives toward U.S. soldiers giving away toys to children outside a hospital in central Iraq on Thursday, killing at least 31 people. Almost all of the victims were women and children, police said.
As if that weren't enough for one day, according to this report, a vehicle was stopped west of Baghdad carrying children's toys booby trapped with hand grenades and shrapnel.
To the lunatic leftist bastards in the this county (and yes, that would be you hashfanatic), who run off the mouth in support of these terrorist scumbags:
You share responsibility for the murder of these poor children.
That's right, everytime you open your mouth against our troops and in support of these scumbags, you condone and encourage the murder of innocents.

I have a Question
What would the world be without the Daily Krock of Shit to incite hatred against the United States of America and our Troops?
Saddam tortured, we torture. Saddam used WP chemical weapons against insurgents and civilians, we use WP chemical weapons against insurgents and civilians.
Like torture, the apologists try to justify our use of such abhorrent techniques, oblivious to the fact that our moral standing is in tatters and our crediblity beyond repair. We aren't just losing the war in Iraq, we are losing our credibility in the world.
There stands Markos, an enemy of the United States of America, alongside other enemies of America, enemies such as Osama Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussien, and Abu Musab al-Zarqari. There is much that can be said in response to such things, but others have done so much better than I could.
Rusty at My Pet Jawa holds no punches:
Equivocating between the U.S. military and the Saddam Hussein regime is exactly what our terrorist enemies do in their propoganda.Perhaps you are unaware of this, but supporters of al Qaeda read blogs like yours and take them seriously. The reason they fight us in Iraq is that they believe, like you do, that the U.S. is the moral equivalent of Saddam Hussein. Each time you publish insane theories about the U.S. using chemical weapons, they eat it up.
If you actually believe that the U.S. is as bad as Saddam Hussein regime, then I suggest you grow a backbone and join the mujahidin in Iraq. The moral implications of your statements are that we are the bad guys. If such is the case, then the inevetable conclusion for you--or an Iraqi 'fence-sitter'--is that morality requires armed resistance to the U.S.
In fact, at a jihadi forum which I frequent, the terrorists and their supporters make the exact same argument that you are making. White phosphorous has become quite the hot topic lately 'proving' that the mujahidin are in the right and that the U.S. really is the Great Satan.
Thank you for legitimizing the jihadists and their belief system. They love Americans like you and use words like yours to benefit their recruitment efforts. See, they say, even the Americans now understand that their own government must be stopped.
Which is exactly the morally correct conclusion to reach if you actually believe the U.S. is guilty of systematic torture, mass murder, and the use of WMD against civilians.
If you believe this, though, than you have made yourself an enemy of the United States of America. No, not the Bush Administration, but the United States.
Thanks Rusty, that was well said.
There's more here.

The Full Picture
The mainstream media showed this to America:

But the mainstream media didn't show this to America:

Wonder why? Take a closer look:

World Without Zionism, a call to destroy Israel. When America saw it, America shrugged. I wonder how Americans would feel if they realized that the destruction of Israel is depicted AFTER the destruction of America. Yes, that's America lying there, already broken, as Israel falls after.
I found this at Regime Change, and I wonder how America would react to the calls for the destruction of America that are quoted on that page.
Why deny America this information? Why hide the threat to our lives, our liberties? Why give us fake memos and half truths? Why? Perhaps the answer to these questions is... Why not?
After all, they have been getting away with it for years:
I wonder how many Americans are aware that in September of 2002, an editorial in the Iraqi weekly Al-Iqtisadi [The Economist], which at the time was owned by Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday, called for the formation of suicide squads to launch broad-based terrorist attacks against the United States, its friends, and interests. Despite the call to consider everything American as a military target, including civilians, and including children, America's own media did not deem it a newsworthy item.
The media has blood on their hands, the blood of innocent civilians and the blood of those honorable men and women of the United States Military who are sworn to protect them.
"Accomplice" - One associated with another in a crime, having guilty knowledge and complicity.
In June of 2004, after receiving a tip that terrorists had placed a roadside bomb along a convoy route to ambush our troops, instead of reporting the location of the bomb, members of the media traveled to the location and set up their cameras. There they waited, like the vultures that they are, no warning was given to the military, no attempt was made to save the lives of our troops, oh no, instead, the media prepared to film the attack on our troops.
For this alone, the members of the media and their employers should be charged with treason, aiding and abetting terrorists, as well as attempted murder of our troops.
Newspaper readership is falling off by the thousands, perhaps Americans are getting tired of being lied to and manipulated. I know I am.

Happy Birthday Open Post Party!
403 - 3. So... who voted to cut and run:
Cynthia McKinney, (D-GA)
José Serrano, (D-NY)
Robert Wexler, (D-FL)
So. The rest of the pack of yellow-bellied weasels shut their pie holes, and crawled back under their rock. Till the next time. Lying, hypocritical bastards. Tell us AGAIN how you are so against the war in Iraq. Please.
Despite all their rallying and telling us how we needed our troops home now, only 3 of them voted to bring our troops home. They lacked the courage to vote for what they wanted because their bluff was called and they want to have a chance of winning reelection. America needs to ask what kind of leader gets up and says we need to bring our troops home now and then does not vote to do so.So Sayeth the Big Dog, and as usual, he's right!
Meanwhile, yes, today's the day!
the day is now here.
Another year older,
I've nothing to fear.
Age they say,
is all in your head.
and if I aged in dog years,
I guess I'd be dead!

Thankfully, I am Immune
Last year America had to deal with those suffering from Post Election Stress Trauma as America's Moonbats hit the couch and the Xanex. Now, one year later, things on the left have deteriorated to a level that surpasses what we saw last year. It's time to face up to the fact that Post Election Stress Trauma was but a symptom of a deeper, darker and more dangerous pandemic:
With the specter of a possible bird-flu pandemic on the horizon, many of us have a sharp eye out, for it's indications. What some of us don't realize, is that we face a more imminent danger, from a pandemic that is far more insidious - and deadly. It causes mental delusion that can trigger erratic and violent behavior, Tourette's-like outbursts are often followed by bouts belligerent brooding and depression, and can eventually lead to suicide - either by your own hand, or by the voluntary victimization of yourself. Through extensive study, over the last 5 years, we have finally been able to name this vital threat to our existence. It is Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) and it can be treated.
The above diagnosis is brought to you by North American Patriot, now run along and read about the symptoms and yes, the cure for this disease.
Bush Derangement Syndrome, it ain't pretty.

Getting Older. Yup.
I wish to know the secrets
that are shared amongst the trees
the nonsense that is whispered
as the wind slips through the leaves
talk of days that have long past
and of the days to come
if such knowledge were mine to know
then together, with the wind, I'd run.
I long to raise my voice into the wind
let it carry on the breeze
to find my one and only love
let the hurt, at last, be eased
I fear the passage of my days
I fear this song will remain unsung
alas, tomorrow I'll be older
but today, I am still young.

Jimmy Carter
So, I was surfing around, and somehow I ended up on a looney leftist site where I found a post praising "Senator" John Edwards for speaking out against the war. I took a moment to remind them that the Junior Achiever was an "ex-senator" and guilty of tax evasion.

Out of the sky comes a moonbat, yes, a self proclaimed "Hash Fanatic" who took a break from sucking on his bong long enough to write to me about the glories of Jimmah Carter:
Carter at least was a true American, a patriot, and a real believer in God, not like today's straw men. Thank God, we have at least one president in recent history that didn't embarrass us to death.
Now, I confess, I try not to think about Jimmy Carter, who was one of the worst presidents this country has ever had. His Legacy:
Jimmy Carter's stunning show of weakness in the face of the Iranians' act of war allowed the mad mullahs to solidify their hold on power, so that a quarter century later they are on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. It also sent a message to Islamist wackos everywhere that America didn't have the stomach for a fight--a message the subsequent three presidents reinforced by withdrawing precipitously from Lebanon and selling arms to the Iranian regime (Reagan), failing to fight the Gulf War to victory (Bush père) and bugging out of Somalia (Clinton).
Carter has been traveling the world these past few years advocating a policy of American weakness, but his legacy should be cause for pause for current officeholders who are inclined to agree. Not only did it create problems and dangers we're still dealing with a quarter century later, it wasn't even good short-term politics. After all, the voters decisively rejected Carter when he sought re-election in 1980, and in his ex-presidency Carter has accomplished something we'd never have thought possible: He's made Bill Clinton look like a statesman.
From "The Muse Of Malaise" by Noemie Emery:
Why Carter is probably the worst President of our lifetime:...like Herbert Hoover, he seems a well-meaning sort overcome by reality. But while Hoover was blindsided by the depression, Carter failed on a broad range of matters and faced few crises he didn't first bring on himself. Most presidents, even the good ones (sometimes especially even the good ones) leave behind a mixed record of big wins and big errors, but with Carter, the darkness seems everywhere: He is all Bay of Pigs and no Missile Crisis, all Iran-contra and no "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall."
In his first month in office he announced his intention to withdraw nuclear weapons and ground troops from South Korea, cut six billion dollars from the defense budget, cancel development of the Trident nuclear submarine, and defer construction of the neutron bomb.
It was Senator Moynihan who gave him his epitaph: "Unable to distinguish between our friends and our enemies, he has adopted our enemies' view of the world."
Lastly, there is treason:
In 1990 and 1991, as George Bush was assembling the Gulf War coalition, Carter wrote secretly to Margaret Thatcher, François Mitterand, Mikhail Gorbachev, and a dozen others, asking the U.N. Security Council not to back Bush.
Ah yes, who could forget the Carter years...

Why do I always get the lame trolls?

Yet Another Kerry Rant
Dear John:
Two hundred and eighty-seven days have passed since you promised America to sign your Form 180 and release all of the information surrounding your discharge from the United States Navy.
After making this promise to America, you then stated to the Boston Globe that had in fact signed it, and further promised that "very, very shortly, you will have a chance to see it."
You have broken these promises John.
You did not release all of the information surrounding your discharge from the United States Navy, claiming that you released what the Navy sent.
America would like to see your signed 180 John. America would like to see whether you did in fact allow for full disclosure. Show us that you checked the box for an "undeleted report of separation," John, and not the one that deletes that information.
Did you release all of your records John, or did you keep some secret?
The answer to that question seems obvious. America knows you kept the discharge secret. America knows you are lying.
Do you think we are stupid John? Come on. The Globe says the records you authorized to be released were pretty much the same ones they already had. The Navy confirmed that they had over 100 pages they could not release without your authorization.
Inquiring minds want to know, John, what type of discharge did you get, John, and how did that discharge change after Carter pardoned all draft dodgers and traitors to this country?
We want to see your records John, and you promised to release them. You also promised we could see your 180. Where is your 180?? Show it to us. Set your 180 free John!

Your failure to do so John, even after your promises, proves that you are a low-life scum sucking piece of shit liar.
We have not forgotten John, and we will not let America forget either.

You can send your own letter to The Great Pretender reminding him of his promise, and I urge you to do so.
Cao tells us of eleven Marines who, after nearly four decades, have finally come home from Vietnam despite the best efforts of John Kerry:
John Kerry did his best to turn his back on any of his brothers at arms dead or alive remaining in Vietnam, heading up a committee –the sole purpose of which was to “normalize” relations with Vietnam at the expense of all of the POWs left there. The old adage is “no man left behind”. But Kerry betrayed everything he learned at officers training school. He sucked up to the communists then, he’s sucking up to them today.
Cao has formed a blogburst group to keep this issue alive. If you want to join the blogroll for Free Kerry’s 180, run on over the Cao's Blog and join up, the more the merrier!!

Never Again!
To the President of the United States: France is overrun with militant muslims and is on the brink of surrender. Should France request help, I urge you to take one of these two options: (1) Stay up that night to watch live coverage of the surrender, or (2) Tape it and watch it the next day.
According to the American Battle Monuments Commission:
- There are 26,255 Yankee dead from World War I buried in 4 cemeteries in France.
- There are 30,426 American dead from World War II buried in 6 cemeteries in France.
These 56,681 brave American heroes died in their youth to liberate a country which is guilty of shameful unspeakable behavior in the 21st century. That's more than enough American blood spilled for those ungrateful, selfish bastards.

Q. How do you say "Give me liberty or give me death!" in French?
A. I give up.Q. How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
A. Nobody knows. It's never been tried.Q. What do you call 100,000 Frenchmen with their hands up?
A. The French Army.
Let France reap what it has sown.

Paristine
With a nod to Joseph Farah at World Net Daily
Jacques and his frères are surely weeping
Les pauvres immigrès have caught them sleeping,
Paysans revolt, their emotions churning,
What’s that odeur? Is Paris burning?
Within the banlieues there’s no joy
Among les jeunes who are sans emplois
What, take a job? Not the way to go;
We’d rather riot, torch your Peugeot.
Ah, Mother France you took us in,
Then left us with no way to win.
We’re not ègal, not garçons blanc,
We’ve no real chance to earn a franc.
No, what we are, we’re useful fools,
For leftist dreams, just brown-skinned tools.
So the Rèpublique’s butt is in a crack,
Give your merci to Jacques Chirac.
We’ll breed you into minority,
Till only mullahs hear your plea,
And Shari’a rules throughout your land,
A Frenchman steals, he’ll lose his hand.
Your licentious lifestyle, long extolled,
Will leave your women stoned, dead cold.
But everything will turn out fine,
In the Muslim Republic of Paristine.

Thank You!

Quicker than the blink of an eye
But memories of heroes present and past
Will never, ever die.
The youth of today, do you understand?
The price brave men did pay
To preserve the freedom we enjoy
Each and every day.
They were called to duty, and so they went
Not knowing what was to be
Many came home, some never did
They sacrificed so we could be free.
How lonely some must have felt
How scared some had to be
They paid the bill with their own blood
What a great cost to be free.
The heroes of our country
Are the ones who paved the way
For freedom and the many rights
That we enjoy today.
Next time, young folks, you pass someone
Who may be old and gray
Remember — thanks to him or her
You have your freedom today.
Support our President, support our troops
Support our country, too
As they go fighting for what is right
For freedom the price is due.

Night of Broken Glass
On this day in 1938, Nazis looted and burned synagogues as well as Jewish-owned stores and houses in Germany and Austria in what became known as "Kristallnacht."
The term "Kristallnacht" ('Night of Broken Glass") refers to the organized anti-Jewish riots in Germany and Austria, November 9-10, 1938. These riots marked a major transition in Nazi policy, and were, in many ways, a harbinger of the "Final Solution."
Seventeen year old Herschel Grynszpan was living in Paris in the autumn of 1938 when his family in Hannover - father, mother, sister and brother - were among ten thousand Jews ruthlessly removed from their homes and deported to Poland in boxcars. His sister Berta managed to send a postcard to Herschel in Paris, describing the torments his family went through. Enraged by what he read, Herschel bought a pistol and went to the German Embassy in Paris on November 7, 1938, to take revenge and kill the ambassador, Count von Welczek. But the Third Secretary, Ernst vom Rath, was sent out to see what the young man wanted and Herschel shot him.
Herschel Grynszpan was arrested and in a poignant statement taken immediately after the arrest the young Jew told the police: "Being a Jew is not a crime. I am not a dog. I have a right to live and the Jewish people have a right to exist on this earth. Wherever I have been I have been chased like an animal." He declared that he had to avenge the Jews, to draw the attention of the world to what was happening in Germany.
For Adolf Hitler, the shooting in Paris provided an opportunity to incite Germans to "rise in bloody vengeance against the Jews." It supplied the pretext for massive Nazi pogroms launched against Jews in Germany, Austria and the Sudetenland - the orgy of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass. The tide of anti-Semitism under Nazi rule was given impetus: in the next 24 hours Nazi storm troopers along with members of the SS and Hitler Youth beat and murdered Jews, broke into and wrecked Jewish homes, brutalized Jewish women and children, destroyed 265 synagogues, looted 7,500 Jewish businesses, smashed Jewish cemeteries, hospitals and schools. At least 96 Jews were killed and hundreds more injured, more than 1,000 synagogues were burned (and possibly as many as 2,000), almost 7,500 Jewish businesses were destroyed, cemeteries and schools were vandalized, and 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
The official German position on these events, was that they were spontaneous outbursts. The Fuehrer, Goebbels reported to Party officials in Munich, "has decided that such demonstrations are not to be prepared or organized by the party, but so far as they originate spontaneously, they are not to be discouraged either."
Kristallnacht was a crucial turning point in German policy regarding the Jews and may be considered as the actual beginning of what is now called the Holocaust.

There are important lessons to be drawn from Kristallnacht, for it served as a bridge experience for both Jews and Nazis. For the Jews, there was the terrifying realization that political antisemitism can lead to violence, even in Western Civilization. It also demonstrated that apathy can still pervade the world when the lives of Jews or other minorities are threatened.
For the Nazis, Kristallnacht taught that while the world might condemn their pogroms, it would not actively oppose them. World opinion, however, taught the Nazis the value of secrecy in the perpetration of future actions against Jews. Added to the complaints of Germans offended by the random violence of Kristallnacht, the stage was set for the "Final Solution"--the organized, bureaucratically efficient genocide of 6,000,000 men, women, and children.
In retrospect, Kristallnacht was more than the shattering of windows and illusions. It portended the physical destruction of European Jewry. As such, this commemoration must be observed both as a memorial and as a warning. -- Simon Wiesenthal Center

Projecte Quel Dommage Open Post
This just in from Llama Butchers... yes, its the weather report from France:

Bummer! I so sympathize with the french, all those rioting muslims and sharia law right around the corner, as soon as the expected surrender is complete. I think of how much they are suffering, and I yearn to express that sorrow, as am I sure you do too.
Thank goodness for Six Meat Buffet, who provides those of us with a will, a way...
It’s time to show our friends across the Pond how much we stand with them! Let’s reciprocate the love and honor their commitment to celebrating diversity, multi-culturalism and, of course, Socialist values. Now is your opportunity to take part in this historic bridge-building exercise! If you’re a blogger, simply put up your own “Sorry France!” post and trackback to this one. Just like all our trackbacks, they’ll appear underneath the post just like a linky-link.
If you’re not a blogger, don’t worry. You can still be sorry too. Send your pictures to Gordon or Preston and we’ll put it up.
Okay then Preston, here's mine...

Project Valour-IT - A Worthy Cause!
I see hundreds of them on the road and in parking lots every day. All different colors and designs. Some yellow, some red, white and blue, some a combination. They all say the same thing. There is a yellow one on the back of my truck right now.
Support the Troops.
A fine notion, and one that America has not truly embraced since WWII. There were plenty of troops to support in-between now and then. I attended Support the Troops rallies during Desert Storm, including one on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami. Now the only rallies we see there are the anti-war rallies run by socialist/communists who consider America to be the enemy.
But, there are all those magnets. All those people who claim to support the troops. Spend your $5.00, stick it on the back of your vehicle and go on your merry way, doing all the day to day things in your life made possible by those very same troops.
What if... what if you met one of those troops face to face. One of those troops who spent several nights sleeping in a hollow in the sand, like those pictures you saw last year in your email? One of those troops who took Baghdad from Saddam's Army in less time than it took Reno to massacre the Branch Davidians? One of those troops who went door to door in Fallujah, under fire by terrorists. One of those troops who fired back, protecting himself, his unit, and yes, protecting you in the process. One of those troops who were running a supply convoy and ran into an I.E.D. One of those troops who took part in one of these IPOs? What if that troop had been injured?
Would you show him your magnet?

Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. The experience of CPT Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss, a partner in the project who suffered hand wounds while serving in Iraq, illustrates how important this voice-controlled software can be to a wounded servicemember's recovery.
Many of my readers will remember when I made my Let's Cheer Up Chuck post in July. My goal at that time was to cheer up Chuck as he recovered from wounds he received while defending our freedom in Iraq. Many of you sent cards and letters to Chuck during his stay at Walter Reed and I thank you for that.
But there are other brave troops like Chuck who need our help, and they deserve the very best that America has to offer. Will they get it? I hope so, and I am sure you hope so too.
But, like the magnets on the back of all those cars, hope is not going to do much to support these who have done their very best to protect our Freedom, and this Country.
I urge you to do a little more then just hope. Please head over to one of these sites and help. Put your money where your mouth is. Send the price of a magnet if that's all you can afford. But send something.

Guard Our Borders
This is what immigrants should be told when they come into our country.

“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
The terror in France this week by Muslim gangs has to do with their “political correctness” and the “salad bowl” theory, that people don’t have to assimilate in order to live in France. This “political correctness” has permeated our culture, too. And you need only look across the pond to see the disastrous results of multicultural liberalism.
Beyond both of these issues related to immigrants, is the border control problem. From Cal Thomas at Townhall:
The Bush Administration would have us believe that most illegal immigrants (or “undocumented workers” in the lingo of political correctness) are merely looking for a better life and taking only those jobs that Americans do not want.Kerry Morales isn’t buying that line. “Maybe 20 years ago the illegals were innocent, hard-working people,” she tells the San Antonio Express-News. “Not any more. Now they’re extremely dangerous. They mean violence.”
Morales, a South Texas rancher, says illegal immigrants have cut down her fences, stolen her pickup truck and broken into her home, once invading her bedroom and nearly strangling her. She says they fled after she reached for her gun.
Rather than complain to authorities, who seem unable or unwilling to stem the tide, Morales joined hundreds of other volunteers from across the country along a 20-mile stretch of the Arizona-Mexico border where they intend to help the Border Patrol spot illegals and reduce their number.
It’s a dangerous policy to allow our borders to go unprotected and unchecked. We should be standing vigilant and guarding our borders.
Terry Dillard has a great video he made regarding this issue over at Right Track blog.
This has been part of the Guard the Borders blogburst. GTB hits Euphoric Reality every Monday, and seeks to promote awareness about the illegal immgration epidemic that our country is facing and the desperate need to curb the problem before it’s too late. Silly String Open Trackback Saturday
A couple of years ago, I sent a certain infantryman six cans of Silly String. They were on sale at the dollar store, I had some room in the box, and I figured, what the heck, okay? In return, I got an email with details of the ensuing silly string fight in the tent, the clean-up afterwards, and the mild reprimands that followed.
That was then, and this is now.

Get on over to Cockeyed.com and see what good use silly string has in the military. Amazing, spread the word and save some lives!
H/T to KisP for this one.

Democrats for Mutilation
This just in from the party of peace and tolerance:

The mayor of Las Vegas has suggested that people who deface freeways with graffiti should have their thumbs cut off on television."In the old days in France, they had beheadings of people who commit heinous crimes," Mayor Oscar Goodman said Wednesday on the TV show "Nevada Newsmakers." Goodman said the city has a beautiful highway landscaping project and "these punks come along and deface it."
"I'm saying maybe you put them on TV and cut off a thumb," the mayor said. "That may be the right thing to do."
Goodman also suggested whippings should be brought back for children who get into trouble.
Interesting idea from a former criminal defense attorney with a drinking problem.
Looks like the self-proclaimed “happiest mayor in the world” is gonna give Teddy some competition.

Know your enemy
IF YOU HOTLINK THESE PICTURES, WHAT YOU SEE WILL NOT BE WHAT YOU GET.
UPDATE: Turns out that the following was not a real "punishment" and was "only" street theatre. That doesn't make it okay people, what kind of person would consider such a thing?
An 8 year old boy was caught stealing bread in Iran.
The peace loving, kind, compassionate and tolerant followers of Islam (may they rot in hell) meted out their punishment. There are six pictures. This is the first.

Do you see what they did to an eight year old child? They ran over him with a car. This is a crime against humanity and yet another atrocity brought to us by the faithful followers of The Prophet of Doom.
The rest of the pictures are in the extended post, you can click below to see them, but I'm warning you, if you view these pictures, this child's face will haunt you forever.

What kind of mind does it take to conceive of such a punishment? What kind of mind does it take to do such a thing to an eight year old child? These "people" are without souls, without concience. This is a child, a hungry child, seeking food.
We should bomb islam right back to the hell it comes from and yes, we should do it for the children.

Liar Liar
Dear John:
Two hundred and seventy-three days have passed since you promised America to sign your Form 180 and release all of the information surrounding your discharge from the United States Navy.
Comeon.
