Letter Writing Request

Most of you have read about the "brave dissenters" who expressed their "support for our Troops" by vandalizing the home of Army SGT Rickey Jones, who was killed in action Feb. 22 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during patrol operations in Hawijah, Iraq. These "patriots" have actually called SGT Jones' family to tell them ‘I’m glad your son is dead.” If that wasn't enough for SGT Jones' family to deal with, Fred Phelps and his hatemongers will probably picket the funeral.

If you haven't heard about this, run on over and read what Emperor Misha has to say.

Army SGT Rickey Jones

CJ at A Soldier's Perspective, is trying to help organize a letter writing campaign to the family of SGT Rickey Jones.

If you are as disgusted as I am and would like to write a letter to have delivered to this family, please email Lauren (MyWay716@aol.com) for more information. The good people over at Operation Military Pride are helping facilitate the delivery of these letters.

This family recently lost a son and shouldn’t have to deal with people like Fred Phelps and the people responsible for the egging of their home and irreverent phone calls. If you feel the same way I do, please email her and write this family a letter of support and love. Let them know that we appreciate their son’s service and mourn their loss. Let’s show them what America is really made of. This isn’t about whether or not you support the war. This is about common decency for a family that has suffered the ultimate sacrifice…having to bury a child. Thank you in advance. When this is over, I want the post office to have to hire new postmen just to handle the volume.

Let's get it done!

Thanks Linda, I'd like to know why and if a preacher that's politically throwing his weight around in this dishonorable way is still granted tax immunity.
I guess that question should be put to the Congress.

Hey Jack!

Fred Phelps is no worse and no better than the likes of nancy pelosi, ted kennedy and john kerry and Phelps is on their side.

Linda, this is hash. The fact that we dislike each other aside, this story about what this preacher is doing to the families of our fallen is absolutely disgusting and irrephensible.

I cannot imagine any group that marches in the name of G_d to say or do such horrible, putrid, disgusting things (and I am from Canarsie, I know from putrid things).

I can't imagine this. What did Sgt. Jones do? He had a job to do, and he gave his life doing it. You know, in the military, you're not doing it for lofty reasons, or for politics. You're out there looking out for your buddies, pure and simple. How can that translate into some anti-gay, pro-Katrina rhetoric.

Linda, you CANNOT believe that they are affiliated with the Democratic establishment. They hate each other and what each other represents with a burning passion.

I am a proud liberal, but this transcends politics. This is about basic common, human decency.

I've very shook up by this story. And I'm sorry for all of us, all the world.

I just don't know what to do anymore.

This is sick.

Hash, Phelps was at one time a democrat leader and good buddy of Al Gore. Phelps campaigned for Clinton/Gore and was present at both Inaugurations. Phelps later turned on Gore though, over the homosexual issue.

But that link to the leftists wasn’t my point about Phelps at all. Phelps does not represent the left any more than Pat Robertson represents the right.

My point was that what Phelps does to our Troops and their families, demoralizing them, demeaning their service, and their dedication, and using their deaths to further a political goal, is no better and no worse than what Pelosi, Kerry, Kennedy, Murtha, and the rest of the left do on a daily basis.

Phelps does what he does out of hatred for homosexuals. The left does what they do out of hatred for George W. Bush. And they each use our Troops and their deaths, to their own end.

The heart of this story has nothing to do with Phelps at all. It has to do with the liberal leftists who vandalized SGT. Jones’ home. It has to do with the liberal leftists who called his parents and told them “I’m glad your son is dead.”

What kinds of people do such things?

I am saddened and sickened by the claims by leftists that our troops are nothing but baby killers, and monsters that target civilians in an unjust war. You cannot support the troops unless you support the mission.

How can the left cry out about the accidental death of a few hundred Iraqi children in a war zone while they support the deliberate murder of 1.3 million American children every year as a matter of convenience here in the states?

I don’t mean to denigrate the death of those Iraqi children, I hate those deaths and I hate war. But there is a difference between a war time casualty and “deliberately targeted.”

I raised my voice and cried out about what happens to women and children in these third world Moslem cesspools long before 9/11. I believe that if you shut your eyes to evil and allow it to continue, then you are complicit in the evil and equally guilty. I gave my support to Rawa and other organizations, seeking to put an end to torture and murder committed in those Moslem countries.

This war has freed two nations from the evil dictatorships that tortured and murdered its people. Yet, the left condemns our troops for doing so and supports the "freedom fighters" that are blowing up our Troops and blowing up civilians, including children, in an attempt to run us out so they can resurrect their own evil dictatorships.

I don’t know what to do anymore either hash.

Liberals should all be killed.

Posted by: Improbulus Maximus at March 8, 2006 06:40 AM

Easy does it there Improbulus, there's no need for us to kill them. After all, every year in the United States of America, these dirty, smelly, ranting, raving, flag burning, patchouli reeking, troop hating, Bush bashing, pro-choice liberal moonbats kill off 1.3 million of their own offspring as a matter of convenience.

Eventually, and hopefully, the moonbat will kill itself off without any help from us.
