Why I'm a dog person...

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Residents of the neighborhood of Sunset Circle say they have been terrorized by a crazy cat named Lewis. Lewis for his part has been uniquely cited, personally issued a restraining order by the town's animal control officer.

"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot, each with a long claw," Janet Kettman, a neighbor said Monday. "They are formidable weapons."

The neighbors said those weapons, along with catlike stealth, have allowed Lewis to attack at least a half dozen people and ambush the Avon lady as she was getting out of her car.

Some of those who were bitten and scratched ended up seeking treatment at area hospitals.

Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira placed a restraining order on him. It was the first time such an action was taken against a cat in Fairfield.

In effect, Lewis is under house arrest, forbidden to leave his home.

Solveira also arrested the cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, charging her with failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment.

Cats are nervous fur. I don't like cats. I don't like cat people. Cat people vote Democrat. Dog people vote Republican. In fact, your post has given me inspiration to do a bit on this subject. I remember Andy Rooney years ago did a brilliant bit on Dems vs Reps (Dem drink beer - Republicans drink Gin and Tonics in the Summer. In the Fall, Republicans drink Whiskey and Coke, Democrats drink beer). I always thought he needed to put in a line about cats.

You've inspired me!

OK, so ONE attack cat has been found out of millions. Dogs have entire breeds known for viciousness. And then there are several human groups known for being vicious in their unneccessary attacks-moslems, Bloods and Crips, Senate Liberals, spammers, etc.

Ya know Tom, my mother had a cat that used to leap up on top of the doors, and whenever we passed through the doorway, the darn thing would drop on top of you, claws out.

I despised that cat.

I had one cat for 15 years, my Daughters cat, only because he was aggressive and territorial. He kept all dogs, cats and Moose out of my yard yet never attacked people, my reward was an occaisional half a squirrel, or bird he'd caught. He was adopted by my daughter and when she left the nest we kept him, he's a good cat now. I don't want any cats on the premises and run off strays. Now a good dog is hard to beat for a companion, they'll alert you to a prowler, defend you if attacked and reward you with unconditional love even if you scold them. It's so rare to find a cat that attacks people unless that animal has been tormented and teased to the point it's only defense is offense.
