Hamassholes claim another IDF Kidnapping
The IDF is checking another claim by Abba's Fatah affiliated Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades, that operatives from the terror group had managed to kidnap an IDF soldier somewhere in the West Bank on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the UN prepares for a special meeting to issue yet another condemnation of Israel. Jordan, Syria, Lebanaon and Russia have already issued their own condemnations.
The Palestinian-run Benevolent Order of St. Pancake, a/k/a ISM is accusing Israel of "execution" of palestinians.
But Israel does not stand totally alone.
Strumming guitars and banging bongos, Christian pilgrims journeyed to Israel's dusty border with the Gaza Strip on Thursday to offer support to Israeli troops participating in the military action.
About 25 people, wearing white T-shirts that said "Your God is my God," waved Israeli flags and sang religious songs.
"We are here to support Israel, and we are here to tell it we support you, we pray for you and we want to bless Israel." -- Leena Eronen of Finland.
Tonight is the Sabbath. I need the rest, although I feel guilty for taking it, as Israel must maintain its vigilance.

Palestinians Murder Yet Another Jew
Eliyahu Pinchas ben Miriam
His resting place shall be in the Garden of Eden.
Therefore, the Master of mercy will care for him
under the protection of His wings for all time
And bind his soul in the bond of everlasting life.
God is his inheritance and he will rest in peace
and let us say Amen.
On Tuesday, the Hamas-affiliated PRC told Al-Jazeera that 18 year old Eliyahu Pinchas Asheri would be "butchered in front of TV cameras" if the IDF operation in Gaza did not stop.
On Tuesday, when these animals were threatening to butcher him, Eliyahu Pinchas Asheri had already been shot to death. Eliyahu Asheri was likely murdered on Sunday, before the IDF began Operation Summer Rain. His body was found late Wednesday night in an open field.
Still, the palestinians will claim to have killed him because Israel attacked Gaza, and the media will publish that lie as the truth. Make no mistake, palestinians killed Eliyahu Asheri because he was a Jew and that's what palestinians do, they kill Jews.
My heart aches for his family, may G-d comfort them in this most terrible time.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement claims to have fired a rocket tipped with a chemical warhead at Israel early on Thursday.
The Northern border of Israel is also on high alert because Hizbolla has threatened to open up another front.
IsraellyCool is still blogging live and I picked up a few excerpts:
It has been confirmed that Eliyahu Asheri had been shot in the head immediately after the kidnapping on Sunday and his body was buried on a mountainside, north of Ramallah. CAIR says Israel is a bunch of war criminals for blowing up a bridge, but they are silent about the murder of Eliyahu Asheri.
The body of Noah Moscowitz, 62, from Rishon Lezion, was been found. It appears that he was not kidnapped, despite the claims of terrorists. I wonder if they have Jimmy Hoffa too.
IDF troops launched the major arrest operation against Hamas officials overnight, detaining 64 of the ruling militant group's ministers and parliamentarians in the West Bank and 23 military operatives. That's 87 hamassholes who should be shot while trying to escape.
2:20 pm EST: The IDF insursion planned for Thursday night into Northern Gaza has been delayed by Olmert in order to seek a diplomatic resolution.
The palestinian response: Four rockets, launched from the northern Gaza Strip, landed in open territory in an industrial zone south of Ashkelon on Thursday night.
Whose side is Olmert on anyways?
Egypt is meeting with head hamasshole al-Zahar to broker a deal. Not surprising since its likely that kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit was smuggled into Egypt earlier, via a hole blown in the border wall in Gaza. I pray that Cpl. Shalit does not disappear into the same islamist hell hole that swallowed IDF pilot Ron Arad.
and... two more rockets were launched from Northern Gaza into Sderot, one landed near a school gymnasuim, and another damaged a zoo.
and... United States Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice joined the G8 industrialized nations group in calling for restraint by IDF forces that entered Gaza to rescue a soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on Sunday.
7:30 p.m. EST: Hmph. It appears that Abbas will be looking for office space in the morning, along with the rest of the Fatah party and the hamassoles...

IAF warplanes hit offices of the Fatah movement and a Hamas facility in Gaza City at around 200 a.m. Friday, witnesses said. There were no reports of casualties. The airstrikes followed an attack on the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza City, among more than a dozen air attacks by IDF forces in the Gaza Strip in the last few hours.

Gaza Round-Up
Tanks and troops in position on the southern border, jets launch missiles at open areas; a bridge is blown up, then a power station and then, another bridge. Tanks and troops cross the south border into southern Gaza and now airstikes begin in the north. Tanks and troops get in position on the northern border.

Gaza's Power Station
After a year of blowing up empty buildings and empty fields in response to the wanton and brutal murders of Israeli citizens, Olmert has grown balls big enough to bomb a bridge and a power station. Meanwhile, the lives of two young men hang in the balance, and one, 18 year old Eliyahu Asheri, may have already been killed by Hamas. If he's not dead, then another Jew is, as a body has been found and not yet identified.
Its like watching a train wreck and other than those that contain a mere four-letters, I find myself mostly at a loss for words. So, for now, I can only give you links:
Dave at Israelly Cool is blogging it live, AbbaGav predicts the aftermath (and don't his link about the "teenagers in Israel's prisons). Point Five has a bit of reality based humor on the subject.
More later, after I calm down a bit.
---------------------
10:44 am EST: While Gaza burns, palestinians were playing with a grenade in the town of Khan Yunis when it exploded, killing 23-year-old Qassem Massud and his one-year-old niece.

3:30 pm EST: Israel threatened to kill exiled Syrian-based leaders of the ruling Palestinian Hamas movement, blaming them for the kidnapping of a soldier by militants in the Gaza Strip. To drive the point home, four Israeli warplanes overflew President Bashar al-Assad's palace in northern Syria early Wednesday while the leader was inside.

Know Thy Partner in Peace
"We will rule the nations, by Allah’s will, the USA will be conquered, Israel will be conquered, Rome and Britain will be conquered."
“Just as the Jews ran from Gaza, the Americans will run from Iraq and Afghanistan…"
So sayeth Hamas leader, Yasser Ghalban.
Think you know Hamas? Take the Quiz:

Yesterday Hamas claimed to have kidnapped a second person. Although there has been no official confirmation of the claim, it appears to be true. Earlier, I received this from friends in Israel:
...the second Jew who was kidnapped by Hamas last night, is an 18 year old yeshiva student who has been labeled by the press as a 'settler' from Itamar. His name is Eliyahu Asheri, and he is now sitting in a Hamas torture chamber. Please pray for Eliyahu Asheri and for Gilad Shalit.
In other news, Olmert is still looking for empty buildings to bomb later.......

Send in the Clowns...
Women undergoing treatment at a fertility clinic in Israel began falling pregnant after a bedside performance by professional clown Shlomi Algussi.
Dressed in a chef's hat and yellow and white vest he told jokes, did magic tricks, and played the fool in front of patients, asking them: "Did you order steak flambe or chocolate gateaux?"
The women, who had been implanted with embryos, saw their pregnancy rates shoot up from 20% to 35%.
Dr Shevach Friedler, who came up with the idea, said: "We know that fertility patients are very stressed, and laughter could have an effect on the immune system."
Dr Friedler has a theatrical background himself, having graduated from the Jacques Lecoq school of mime in Paris.
"A clown with a red nose is fine for children, but we had to invent a new character for these adult women," he said.
The restaurant chef character was found to produce the desired response from patients.
A study of the effect of "medical clowning" was presented to the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Fertilisation and Embryology in Prague.
"After embryo transfer, stress could be critical, so we think this is a good time to use clowning," said Dr Friedler. "I didn't expect such a good result. The response from the women was wonderful."

An Update from the Minuteman Fence Project Manager
Not every single mile of the border or every ranch or rancher is the same. The full-on Israeli-style Security Fence is our primary design and first choice for construction. However, when circumstances dictate adjustment to a Border Fence with barbed wire and a vehicle barrier or another design to meet local requirements, we will make the necessary adaptations—and keep building.
Our plan: Do the job until our government does its duty.

The bastards
Fucking Fred Phelps and his band of fucking scumbags are planning to picket the funerals of PFC Menchaca and PFC Tucker, the two soldiers recently tortured to death by Murtha's minions.
Dammit.
Thank G-d for the Patriot Guard Riders who will also be there.
Emperor Darth Misha has the info, and a suggestion for Phelps that I can most certainly get behind.
Tis true that I am just an ignorant Jewish Girl from Brooklyn, but still, I am sure there is a very special place in hell reserved for those like Fred Phelps, who use the name of G-d to preach such hatred. I hope Phelps gets there soon. The world will be a better place without him.

2996 ~ Never Forget!

2,996 is a tribute to the victims of 9/11.
On September 11, 2006, 2,996 volunteer bloggers will join together for a tribute to the victims of 9/11. Each person will pay tribute to a single victim.
We will honor them by remembering their lives, and not by remembering their murderers.
If you would like to help out, either by pledging to post a tribute on your own blog, or by offering your services to promote this cause, just leave a comment here and I’ll email you the name of a victim.
Then, on 9/11/2006, you will post a tribute to that victim on your blog.
But, and this is critical, the tributes should celebrate the lives of these people–kind of like a wake. Over the last 5 years we’ve heard the names of the killers, and all about the victim’s deaths. This is a chance to learn about and celebrate those who died. Forget the murderers, they don’t deserve to be remembered. But some people who died that day deserve to be remembered–2,996 people.
Thank you,
D.Challener Roe
I want to thank Mr. Roe, for taking on such a massive and meaningful project, and for allowing me to participate.

Making Memories
Thursday will go down in history.
I went north to the land of roller coasters to meet up with my blog brother Vinnie, my blog sister-in-law and fellow Cotillion babe Merri and my blog-daughter and fellow Cotillion babe Wild Thing. Of course, I've met Wild Thing before, in fact, we were friends before we had blogs, but this was a first face-to-face with Vinnie and Merri and their kiddies.
The festivities began in the Sultan Sweet Shop, where we first set eyes upon each other and decided it was okay to be seen in public together. The kiddies are adorable and personable, so you know they take after Merri.
One of our first stops was Sheikra, and it was a blast! We're talking a lift 200 feet high, a 138 foot dive into a underground tunnel and speeds up to 70 mph. Here we are, and yes, that's Vinnie in the middle. I'm on his left, and Merri is on his right. Wild Thing and her husband the Stunt Man next to me:

Click the pic to experience Sheikra!
We also rode Kumba, Montu, and Gwazi. With the sun pouring down on us, we wandered back and forth from the free beer to the rollercoasters, and from smoking section to smoking section, running our mouths the entire time. Afterwards, we got to have dinner at my friend Steve's beautiful home, the salmon was delicious, thank you Steve, for opening your home to us weary fun-seekers and for being such a wonderful host.
While we were having fun, my local JTTF picked up a bunch of wannabe terrorists here in town.
Life is good.

Worse than Al-Qaida?
What could possibly be worse than being captured by Al-Qaida operatives? What could be worse than your facial features cut off and/or mutilated, your heart cut out, your testicles cut off, your penis cut off and stuffed in your mouth, your arms contorted and your eyes gouged out, your head sawed off with a kitchen knife, your corpse dumped in the street, stuffed with explosives as a trap to kill your friends and countrymen who come to find you?
Why, being captured by the United States of America and having a pair of women's panties put on your head! Or being threatened by a barking dog! Or being stacked with other naked terrorists into a pyramid. Or being put on a leash.
Sure its worse! Just ask Al-Qaida operative Mike Luckovitch:

We expect this kind of crap from terrorists like Ameen Al-Sheikh, a Syrian who said he went to Iraq to oppose the U.S. occupation. Al-Sheikh, who was captured with AK-47 assault rifles, grenades and bomb-making material. Al-Skeikh, who is well known in Abu Ghraib for having once obtained a gun from an Iraqi guard and exchanged fire with American soldiers. Al-Sheikh, who should have been shot while trying to escape.
Al-Sheikh was a former inmate at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison who claimed he was forced by U.S. guards to masturbate in public and piled onto a pyramid of naked men said even Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein did not do such things.
Al-Sheikh said he was forced to eat pork and drink alcohol. He says a US Soldier pissed on him.
Aw jeepers. Imagine that! Al-Sheikh travels from Syria to kill Americans and ends up being pissed on by one. That's just too f'ing bad! You should have stayed in Syria you dumb shit.
"I was extremely emotional because (even) Saddam didn't do this to us." - Al Sheikh
No, you stupid bastard, Saddam would have chopped off your hands and feet, he would have had your wife and children raped to death before your eyes, he would have dipped you feet first into a vat of acid, dragged you through the streets behind a car, shot you, stabbed you, whipped you with chains, tied you to a tree and beaten you with a stick, electocuted you, or, a combination of the above and then dumped your remains into a mass grave.
Saddam would have done the same to Mike Luckovitch, as would Al-Qaida. Congratulations Mike, today, you have promoted the enemy agenda and I'm sure Al-Qaida is grateful for your efforts on their behalf.
Annika sums up nicely:

A call for freedom
The grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini, the inspiration of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution, has broken a three-year silence to back the United States military to overthrow the country's clerical regime.
"My grandfather's revolution has devoured its children and has strayed from its course," he told Al-Arabiya, an Arabic-language television station. "I lived through the revolution and it called for freedom and democracy - but it has persecuted its leaders."
As for his "call to President Bush to come and occupy Iran," Hossein Khomeini explained that 'freedom must come to Iran in any possible way, whether through internal or external developments."
If you were a prisoner, what would you do? I want someone to break the prison [doors open]'."

No Man Left Behind
The islamist terrorist group Mujahedeen Shura Council claims it has kidnapped two of our soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The Defense Department identified the missing men as Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore.
The terrorists have posted this message to world:
"The strongest army in the world is turned around, ashamed of their failure..."
It just clarifies the points I made earlier today in "A Case for Cut and Run?"
There can be only one response:
You have two hours within which to release our Troops unharmed, and that includes Pfc. Keith Matthew Maupin. Release them or we nuke Mecca.
No negotiations.

A Case for Cut and Run?
Former Marine John Murtha continues to make his case for cut and run, I found this at the Media Blog on NRO. In making his case for cut and run, Murtha makes a comparison to the mistakes of America, mistakes made by both Republicans and Democrats.
"The thing that disturbed me and worries me about this whole thing is we can’t get them to change direction. And I said over and over in debate, if you listen to any of it, in Beirut President Reagan changed direction, in Somalia President Clinton changed direction, and yet here, with the troops out there every day, suffering from these explosive devices, and being looked at as occupiers — 80 percent of the people want us out of there — and yet they continue to say, “We’re fighting this thing.” We’re not fighting this. The troops are fighting this thing. That’s who’s doing the fighting." John Murtha
What does our enemy say? NRO points us to this quote by Osama bin Laden:
"After leaving Afghanistan, the Muslim fighters headed for Somalia and prepared for a long battle, thinking that the Americans were like the Russians," bin Laden said. "The youth were surprised at the low morale of the American soldiers and realized more than before that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat. And America forgot all the hoopla and media propaganda ... about being the world leader and the leader of the New World Order, and after a few blows they forgot about this title and left, dragging their corpses and their shameful defeat."
But they forgot about this quote:
"But your most disgraceful case was in Somalia; where- after vigorous propaganda about the power of the USA and its post cold war leadership of the new world order- you moved tens of thousands of international force, including twenty eight thousands American solders into Somalia. However, when tens of your solders were killed in minor battles and one American Pilot was dragged in the streets of Mogadishu you left the area carrying disappointment, humiliation, defeat and your dead with you. Clinton appeared in front of the whole world threatening and promising revenge , but these threats were merely a preparation for withdrawal. You have been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew; the extent of your impotence and weaknesses became very clear. It was a pleasure for the “heart” of every Muslim and a remedy to the “chests” of believing nations to see you defeated in the three Islamic cities of Beirut , Aden and Mogadishu." Osama Bin Laden, August 1996
The incidents of islamic terrorism perpetuated against America are numerous and varied. From the US Cole, to the Peacekeepers operation in Beruit, Mogadishu to Desert Storm, America has time and time again failed to crush the enemy, allowing them to come back at us, time and time again. Each new incident of islamic terrorism has been worse then the one before, culminating finally with September 11, 2001.
This enemy does not respect mercy, it does not respect compassion, it does not respect cut and run. Murtha believes we should back out, and leave the Middle East to the no-so-tender mercies of islamic terrorism. Murtha believes we should turn our backs on the innocents who will become victims of islamic law.
Murtha believes what our enemies believe.
Murtha wants what our enemies want.
That makes Murtha the enemy.

The Bastards!
Turkish public TV has banned Piglet.
TURKEY’S public television TRT, controlled by the Islamist-rooted government, has barred the popular Walt Disney cartoon Winnie the Pooh from air because it has a piglet as one of its main heroes, the Turkish press reported today.
…
The station initially considered scissoring the scenes showing Piglet, but abandoned the idea because the small pink-skinned character, one of Winnie the Pooh’s closest friends, appeared too often, Cumhuriyet and the mass-circulation Sabah newspaper said.

I say we ban islam because it features a psychotic and evil killer, rapist and child molestor. Get it out of the newspapers, off the TV and out of our schools.

Germany Judges Islam
German Mistrust of Muslims and Islam Grows
Experts fear new conflicts after a study published this week showed most Germans doubt the Western and Islamic worlds can peacefully coexist. Mistrust of the 3 million Muslims living in Germany appears to be growing.
In spite of official attempts to promote dialog among religions, distrust of Islam continues to grow, with 60 percent of Germans expecting tension between traditional German society and immigrants from Muslim countries, according to an Allensbach study commissioned by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.
"Germans are increasingly of the opinion that a lasting, peaceful coexistence with the Islamic world will not be possible," the researchers said in the survey, released Wednesday.
Germans less willing to show tolerance to Muslims
Germans' image of Muslims has been getting worse since Sept. 11, 2001
The case of a Berlin "honor killing," a quarrel over two Bonn students who wore burkas to school and discussions concerning increasing schoolyard violence among immigrant children have all made headlines in the German press recently.
"In view of the diffuse feeling of being under threat, and the suspected intolerance of Islam, the readiness of Germans to show tolerance to the Muslim faith is sinking," Noelle and Petersen wrote.
Germans' esteem for Islam has been falling since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, with 83 percent of the 1,076 Germans questioned in the survey agreeing with the statement that Islam is driven by fanaticism. That amount was 10 percent higher than two years ago. A majority, 71 percent, said they believed Islam to be "intolerant," up from 66 percent.
When asked what they associate with the word "Islam," 91 percent of respondents connected the religion to the discrimination of women, and 61 percent called Islam "undemocratic." Eight percent of Germans associated "peacefulness" with Islam.
Willing to limit freedom of religion
Most Germans don't believe a mosque should be built in a community that doesn't want itAbout 40 percent of Germans queried were willing to limit the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion if constricting the practice of the Muslim religion would lead to fewer violent Muslims choosing to live in Germany. Over half of those who took part, 56 percent, agreed with the statement, "If some Muslim countries forbid building churches, then it should be forbidden to build mosques here."
There was one result amid the responses that improved the mood of those working on intercultural dialog: two-thirds of Germans said they believed Islam does not pose a threat, but that radical, politically motivated individuals are behind extremist acts.
The survey's authors wrote that "there is a pattern of polarization" widening the gap between Germans' feelings of their own situation and "the others," which could be the "beginning of a spiral of conflict."
"Since the end of the World War II, the German population has had a particular aversion to conflict," Noelle and Petersen wrote. "But in regards to Islam, the fronts are obviously getting harder."
Could it be that the world is finally waking up to the hypocrisy of Islam and the threat it poses to all of civilization?
I certainly hope so.

Make Love - Not War
Come a little bit closer... you're my kind of man...
The US military investigated building a "gay bomb", which would make enemy soldiers "sexually irresistible" to each other, government papers say.
so big and so strong... Come a little bit closer... I'm all alone... and the night is so long...
The plan for a so-called "love bomb" envisaged an aphrodisiac chemical that would provoke widespread homosexual behaviour among troops, causing what the military called a "distasteful but completely non-lethal" blow to morale.
But wait... there's more...
Scientists also reportedly considered a "sting me/attack me" chemical weapon to attract swarms of enraged wasps or angry rats towards enemy troops.
But wait... there's more...
Another idea was to develop a chemical causing "severe and lasting halitosis", so that enemy forces would be obvious even when they tried to blend in with civilians.
But wait... there's more...
In a variation on that idea, researchers pondered a "Who? Me?" bomb, which would simulate flatulence in enemy ranks.
That's all well and good, and funny too. Ha ha. Ha. It beats sending our troops out door to door for terrorists. But...

can't we just kill the enemy and be done with it?

Oh Canada...
It seems that Canadian Soldiers are getting plenty of action these days:
The troops are fighting terrorists in Afghanistan and helping to protect a fragile democracy. They're training on bases at home to prepare for their perilous mission.
The troops are being supplied with condoms at what appears to be a staggering pace, with documents suggesting a 12-fold increase from just four years ago.
The military has dispensed just under 300,000 publicly paid prophylactics in each of the last two years, say figures obtained under the Access to Information Act.
Oh my. Still, that's not bad, when compared with General Motors, who is spending an average of $17 Million a year on Viagra, Cialis and other erectile dysfunction drugs for its employees.
The good news for Canadian taxpayers is they're getting lots more bang for their buck:
The cost of condoms distributed in 1999 was over $100,000 - or more than 30 cents for each prophylactic. The cost the last two years has dropped by almost two-thirds, to about $40,000 or 13 cents a condom.
Its not difficult to figure out why. Soldiers are sexy.

Its a sad day
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida's leader in Iraq who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings and kidnappings, has been killed in an air strike, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Thursday, adding that his identity was confirmed by fingerprints and a look at his face. It was a major victory in the U.S.-led war in Iraq and the broader war on terror.

Destroying America
one lawsuit at a time...
The ACLU won another lawsuit this month here in SoFla with the help of Federal Judge Kenneth Ryskamp.
Judge Ryskamp ruled that it is unconstitutional to require a student to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance and that a student does not have to get a parent's permission to be excused from reciting the pledge.
The American Civil Liberties Union sued the state Board of Education and state Education Commissioner John Winn on behalf of a Boynton Beach High School student who said he was disciplined for not standing during the pledge last year.
Cameron Frazier, then a 17-year-old junior, was told by teacher Cynthia Alexandre that he was "so ungrateful and so un-American" after he twice refused to stand for the pledge in her classroom Nov. 8, the lawsuit said.
Requiring Frazier to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance is "in violation of his First and Fourth Amendment rights," the lawsuit said.

Hey Judge, you fucked up!
So, Frazier will get paid $32,500 for being an anti-American scumbag and his teacher will be reprimanded in writing.
Is this a great Country or what?

Not your average strap-on
UK Special forces to use strap-on 'stealth wings'
Elite special forces troops being dropped behind enemy lines on covert missions are to ditch their traditional parachutes in favour of strap-on stealth wings.
The lightweight carbon fibre mono-wings will allow them to jump from high altitudes and then glide 120 miles or more before landing - making them almost impossible to spot, as their aircraft can avoid flying anywhere near the target.
How cool is that?
Resembling a 6ft-wide pair of aircraft wings, the devices should allow a parachutist to glide up to 120miles, carrying 200lb of equipment, the manufacturers claim.
Fitted with oxygen supply, stabilisation and navigation aides, troops wearing the wings will jump from a high-altitude transport aircraft which can stay far away from enemy territory - or on secret peacetime missions could avoid detection or suspicion by staying close to commercial airliner flight paths.
The manufacturers claim the ESG wing is '100 per cent silent' and 'extremely difficult' to track using radar.
Once close to their target landing zone, the troops pull their parachute rip cord to open their canopy and then land normally.
Weapons, ammunition, food and water can all be stowed inside the wing, although concealing the 6ft wings after landing could prove harder than burying a traditional parachute.
They're made in Germany by ESG. They look like a good idea, even if that guy looks like a cross between the Darth Vader and the X-Men.

The Invasion of Normandy
Order of the Day - June 6, 1944

click to hear it!
Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Forces: You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!
Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.
-- General Dwight D. Eisenhower's message to the troops of the Allied Expeditionary Forces on June 6, 1944, the morning of the invasion.
The D-Day operation of June 6, 1944 brought together the land, air and sea forces of the allied armies in what became known as the largest invasion force in human history.
The operation, given the codename OVERLORD, delivered five naval assault divisions to the beaches of Normandy, France. The beaches were given the codenames UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO and SWORD. The invasion force included 7,000 ships and landing craft manned by over 195,000 naval personnel from eight allied countries. Almost 133,000 troops from England, Canada and the United States landed on D-Day.
Casualties from the three countries during the landing numbered 10,300.
By June 30th, over 850,000 men, 148,000 vehicles, and 570,000 tons of supplies had landed on the Normandy shores. Fighting by the brave soldiers, sailors and airmen of the allied forces western front and Russian forces on the eastern front led to the defeat of German Nazi forces.
On May 7, 1945, German General Alfred Jodl signed an unconditional surrender at Reims, France.

Ronald Wilson Reagan 1911 ~ 2004
Ronald Reagan was the first President I voted for, he made me the Conservative that I am, and that I will always be. Mr. Reagan was a true leader who knew no boundries. There was nothing he could not do, or would not do for America. I miss him evey day.
From the NYT:
To a nation hungry for a hero, a nation battered by Vietnam, damaged by Watergate and humiliated by the taking of hostages in Iran, Ronald Reagan held out the promise of a return to greatness, the promise that America would “stand tall” again.
Mr. Reagan lived longer than any United States president, spending his final years in seclusion as he coped with the mental debilitation of Alzheimer’s disease.
Mr. Reagan lived longer than any United States president, spending his final years in seclusion as he coped with the mental debilitation of Alzheimer’s disease.

By Peggy Noonan
In his presidency he did this: He out-argued communism and refused to accept its claim of moral superiority; he rallied the West, rallied America and continued to make big gambles, including a defense-spending increase in a recession. He promised he'd place Pershings in Europe if the Soviets would not agree to arms reductions, and told Soviet leaders that they'd never be able to beat us in defense, that we'd spend them into the ground. They were suddenly reasonable. Ronald Reagan told the truth to a world made weary by lies. He believed truth was the only platform on which a better future could be built. He shocked the world when he called the Soviet Union "evil," because it was, and an "empire," because it was that, too. He never stopped bringing his message to the people of the world, to Europe and China and in the end the Soviet Union. And when it was over, the Berlin Wall had been turned into a million concrete souvenirs, and Soviet communism had fallen. But of course it didn't fall. It was pushed. By Mr. Know Nothing Cowboy Gunslinger Dimwit. All presidents should be so stupid.
He pushed down income taxes too, from a high of 70% when he entered the White House to a new low of 28% when he left, igniting the long boom that, for all its ups and downs, is with us still. He believed, as JFK did, that a rising tide lifts all boats. He did much more, returning respect to our armed forces, changing 50-year-old assumptions about the place of government and the place of the citizen in the new America.
What an era his was. What a life he lived. He changed history for the better and was modest about it. He didn't bray about his accomplishments but saw them as the work of the American people. He did not see himself as entitled, never demanded respect, preferred talking to hotel doormen rather than State Department functionaries because he thought the doormen brighter and more interesting. When I pressed him once, a few years out of the presidency, to say what he thought the meaning of his presidency was, he answered, reluctantly, that it might be fairly said that he "advanced the boundaries of freedom in a world more at peace with itself." And so he did. And what could be bigger than that?
"Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way." ~ Ronald W. Reagan
LIFE
I wonder what it's all about, and why
We suffer so, when little things go wrong?
We make our life a struggle,
When life should be a song.
Our troubles break and drench us,
Like spray on the cleaving prow
Of some trim Gloucester schooner
As it dips in a graceful bow.
Our troubles break and drench us
But like that cleaving prow,
The wind will fan and dry us.
And we'll watch some other bow.
But why does sorrow drench us
When our fellow passes on?
He's just exchanged life's dreary dirge
For an eternal life of song.
What is the inborn human trait
That frowns on a life of song?
That makes us weep at the journey's end,
When the journey was oft-times wrong?
Weep when we reach the door
That opens to let us in,
And brings to us eternal peace
As it closes again on sin.
Millions have gone before us,
And millions will come behind.
So why do we curse and fight
At a fate both wise and kind.
We hang onto a jaded life
A life full of sorrow and pain.
A life that warps and breaks us,
And we try to run through it again.

"Let me thank you, the American people, for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your president. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future." ~ Ronald Reagan, 1994

Guard The Borders Blogburst
Foreword by Heidi at Euphoric Reality
From Spanish-speaking illegal workers, to angry tenured professors and arrogant politicians, we are hearing more and more tenets and demands from a movement called Reconquista. The movement, once dismissed as extreme racist rhetoric, has rapidly gained traction and momentum among millions of ill-educated illegal aliens and well-established Mexicans alike. Reconquista gives voice to the angry demands of present-day Mexicans who mistakenly think they have indigenous rights to the land of the Southwestern United States - which they claim was "stolen" by an imperialist American government. The centerpiece of their agenda is the mythical Aztlan.
In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.
"From whence came our forefathers...?" Nothing could be further from the truth - not that the facts matter much in their efforts to further "La Raza" - or The Race. Using racially-charged arguments to batter at the traditional guilt mentality of Americans, proponents of Aztlan aim to "reconquer" the Southwestern United States as their due. Apparently, they fail to understand that the tribes of present-day Mexico never inhabited the Southwest U.S., nor for the most part did Mexicans themselves - it was mostly open land [frontier] except for northern Native Americans (as you will see below).
A manifest destiny has been embraced by many within mainstreamed advocacy groups in America such as La Raza, LULAC, and most commonly MECHa, the radical student organization which has specifically embraced the tenets of Atzlan. "Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada," is translated as "For the Race, everything, for those outside of the Race, nothing." Though that singular statement seems to sum up the demands of today's angry illegal Mexican aliens, there is much more to their Plan to restore Aztlan:
Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent.Love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come and who struggles against the foreigner "gabacho" who exploits our riches and destroys our culture ... Economic control of our lives and our communities can only come about by driving the exploiter out of our communities, our pueblos, and our lands and by controlling and developing our own talents, sweat, and resources.
Education must be relative to our people, i.e., history, culture, bilingual education, contributions, etc.
Self-defense of the community must rely on the combined strength of the people ... For the very young there will no longer be acts of juvenile delinquency, but revolutionary acts.
A nation autonomous and free - culturally, socially, economically, and politically- will make its own decisions on the usage of our lands, the taxation of our goods, the utilization of our bodies for war, the determination of justice (reward and punishment), and the profit of our sweat.
So there is a Plan for Reconquista. But do these emotional and racial claims have any historical basis?
Clearing Up A Misconception About Reconquista
by Loma Alta
Introduction.
Spain conquered what was to become modern Mexico and part of the southwestern United States in 1521. Spanish rule lasted 300 years until 1821 when Mexico gained independence. Mexico ruled what is now part of the southwestern United States for a very, very short time. Mexico ruled Texas from 1821 until 1836, some 16 years. Mexico ruled California from 1821 until 1846, 26 years. Mexico ruled most of New Mexico from 1821 until 1848, 28 years, and the southern most portions of Arizona and New Mexico until purchased by the United States in 1853, 33 years. The United States began ownership of these territories in 1845 (Texas), 1846 (California), and 1848-1853 (New Mexico and Arizona). Thus the United States has owned this land since 1845-1853, 153-162 years.
The ownership has thus been: Spanish 1521-1821 or 300 years; Mexican 1821-36 to 1853 or 16 to 33 years; and American 1845-1853 or 154 to 162 years. Almost all development and modernization came under United States ownership. Please see Spain, Mexico, Texas, California, and New Mexico-Arizona for more details.
Comparison of Ownership Time and Development.
Spain owned the area for 300 years and operated it as a colony. The central area, and most developed part was around Mexico City with much of the current southwestern United States being the frontier, relatively undeveloped, and subject to Indian raids and predations. The situation was much the same in the very, very short period, 16-33 years, of Mexican ownership. With the United States ownership, 154 to 162 years, beginning as territories, exploration and development proceeded rapidly and modern civilization came with, or shortly after, statehood.
The Absurdity of Reconquista.
Whether by time of ownership or degree of development and civilization, Mexico had virtually no temporal or civil weight of authority in the southwestern United States. Mexico never really established military or civil control over the area and it was never really a normal part of Mexico, but was always the frontier with vast expanses of nearly unexplored and lightly inhabited regions far from Mexican rule and authority. So tenuous, unpopular, and corrupt was Mexico’s presence and claim to the areas, and the Mexican government so hated by American and Mexican pioneers alike, that they only lasted from 16 to 33 years.
Thus, Reconquista is another myth, promulgated for racist reasons (it is the spawn of Mexican supremacist groups such as La Raza - literally “the Race”) much as the Germans’ “Lebensraum”, or living space, was for the master race. And, Reconquista is equally racist and equally the deranged product of irrational hate groups.
Therefore, we can dismiss the concept of “Reconquista” as a racist, hate group concept that has no place in America, or in any other just and tolerant society or country. There is no need to give any credence whatsoever to the false and meritless claims of any moral attachment to territory by radical, racist groups. They are as phony as last year's bird's nest.

The IDF is back in Gaza
Israel launches fierce battle inside Gaza Strip
Jerusalem -- Israel launched its first ground military operation inside the Gaza Strip since it pulled out of the region nearly a year ago, killing three members of a Palestinian rocket squad and a policeman in a fierce battle, the Israeli army said.
The gunfight between Israeli commandos and Islamic Jihad militants took place about three kilometres inside northern Gaza, from where militants have fired hundreds of homemade rockets at Israeli border communities in more than five years of fighting.
Amos Harel, the military affairs reporter for the Haaretz daily, said the commandos sneaked into Gaza before dawn and set up an ambush in the area of the former Jewish settlement of Dugit.
This story is from May 31, 2006, but no one is talking about it.
Interesting.

Shavu'ot

Three thousand, three hundred and sixteen years ago, the infinite G-d burst through the barrier of human finitude and in the presence of an entire nation revealed His Commandments.
Shavu'ot commemorates the world-shaking event of the Divine revelation at Sinai. It is a day to reaffirm our commitment to studying and implementing the Torah.
If we abuse our freedom and attach ourselves to things of an exclusively physical, temporary nature, we lose the freedom needed to achieve the very purpose for which we were placed here: to become closer to G-d by being more like G-d.
I'll be gone until late Saturday, click the pic for info on Shavu'ot.

The troops are fighting terrorists in Afghanistan and helping to protect a fragile democracy. They're training on bases at home to prepare for their perilous mission.
Resembling a 6ft-wide pair of aircraft wings, the devices should allow a parachutist to glide up to 120miles, carrying 200lb of equipment, the manufacturers claim.
