A new one from Russ Vaughn

and it is most very excellent...

Slicing Enlightenment

Softly it whispers, parting air,
The edge so sharp, so glistening;
And as it strikes beneath your hair,
Is anyone still listening?
The sword of Islam makes the slice,
And your severed head just rolls;
You’ve made the final sacrifice,
Loyal to your Liberal goals.

When others warned of futures dire,
You made root cause excuses;
You turned your faces from the fire,
Pursued your liberal muses,
Ignoring death-fired feudal fires,
Luring fools to paradise,
Fanatics facing Islam’s spires,
Whose sword above you lies.

Back when we tried to warn you,
You snickered and you sneered;
Imperial fools our view untrue,
Dumb dupes, who only feared.
Your enlightenment would show us
The path to worldwide calm,
So Jihadis would not blow us
All to hell with Islam’s bomb.

And now these decades later,
When Sharia rules our land,
Where Christians, disbelievers,
Feel the wrath of Islam’s hand,
I feel compelled to ask you Libs,
As that blade zips out your light,
Bloodies your precious, do-good bibs,
Might you think it’s time we fight?

Shabbat Shalom

Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the first manifestation of the approach of our redemption. Shield it with Your loving kindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory.

Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness. Lead them, swiftly and upright, to Your city Zion and to Jerusalem, the abode of Your Name, as is written in the Torah of Your servant Moses: “Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the Lord your God will gather you, from there He will fetch you. And the Lord your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers.”

Draw our hearts together to revere and venerate Your name and to observe all the precepts of Your Torah, and send us quickly the Messiah son of David, agent of Your vindication, to redeem those who await Your deliverance.

Manifest yourself in the splendor of Your boldness before the eyes of all inhabitants of Your world, and may everyone endowed with a soul affirm that the Lord, God of Israel, is king and his dominion is absolute.

Robotic Frisbees of Death!

It ain't easy, picking out evil-doers in the urban canyons of the Middle East; there are so many places to hide. Taking 'em out can be even harder, what with all those noncombatants hanging nearby. But the Air Force thinks it might have an answer to this most vexing problem in counter-insurgency: frisbees.

Not just any frisbees, mind you. Robotic frisbees. Heavily armed robotic frisbees.

The circular drones will be lanuched "from munitions dispensers or by means of a simple mechanism similar to a shotgun target (skeet) launcher," Triton adds. Once in the air, they'll be tele-operated by soldiers on the ground. Or, if needed, the fightin' frisbees will pilot themselves as they hunt for guerrillas.

Once they catch up to the baddies, the drones will use a series of armor-piercing explosives, shooting jets of molten metal, to eliminate their targets. And these MEFP [Multiple Explosively Formed Penetrator] "warheads will be controllable so as to provide a single large fragment (bunker-buster) or tailorable pattern of smaller fragments (unprotected infantry or light utility vehicles)." The decision of whether to go bunker-buster or infantry-annihilator mode can either be determined by the drones' human operators, "or autonomous target classification routine built into the UAV."

Oh, and did I mention The Genius Robot Cockroach Swarm?

Is anyone listening?

Sheikh: All must convert to Islam

Sheikh Abu Saqer, leader of Gaza's Jihadia Salafiya Islamic outreach movement, which seeks to make secular Muslims more religious, called the pope a "puppet" for "that Crusader George Bush."

The Gaza imam said the only Christian-Muslim dialogue that is acceptable is one in which "all religions agree to convert to Islam."

"The day will soon come when the green flag of La Illah Illah Allah (There is no god but Allah) and Muhammad Rasul Allah (Muhammad is the prophet of Allah) will be raised upon the Vatican and all around the world and on the fortresses of those who want to destroy Islam, because they know that this religion obliges them to face the truth that Islam is Allah's favorite religion. And until they join Islam, hell is their last station."

"But I am sorry that this little racist did not think of the consequences upon the Christians in the Arab world when he insulted our prophet. It is an open war – the Muslims against all the others."

Abu Saqer said the pope and the Christian world are "panicking" because they realize "who is winning."

Question of the day

Do Newspapers Have a Future?

It seems hopeless. How can the newspaper industry survive the Internet? On the one hand, newspapers are expected to supply their content free on the Web. On the other hand, their most profitable advertising--classifieds--is being lost to sites like Craigslist. And display advertising is close behind. Meanwhile, there is the blog terror: people are getting their understanding of the world from random lunatics riffing in their underwear, rather than professional journalists with standards and passports.

*snort* Now that was a partisan statement if I ever heard one. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not rigging in my underwear, nor am I a random lunatic. I want to know the truth, and I can't get that from the NY Times or the Miami Herald, or USA Today. I don't want photoshopped news.

The mainstream media has become a joke. People want the real story, not the partisan bullshit spoon fed to the public by the media. I haven't bought a newspaper in years, and I pick up the freebies to line my bird cage.

The face of things to come

Sounds like America is getting pissed. Or... at least SoFla is...

FBI investigates mosque shooting

No one was injured by the five shots that struck the building. The Melbourne Police Department searched the undeveloped woods to the south of the mosque, the area where they believe the shots originated from, but don’t have any suspects yet. They searched the area Friday night when the incident happened, and again Saturday morning. The police will be increasing patrols around the mosque for at least the next couple of days, police spokeswoman Jill Frederiksen said.

Police believe the shooter used a rifle, and there was a similar shooting possibly involving an air rifle on Sept. 18. Officials said the sniper left behind a pair of binoculars in a thicket of palmettos across the street from the mosque. There have been no arrests for either incident.

I'm no fan of murder, and I hate to think that islam will be successful in dragging us down into the dirt with it, back to the stone ages where we kill each other with sticks and stones. Still, as a people, I guess we can only take so much hatred directed at us, we can only take so many beheadings, so many car bombs, we can listen to so many calls for "death to America." We can take only so many senseless and stupid deaths perpetuated by followers of a death cult, in the name of a murderous pedophile, by freaks seeking entrance into some perverse sexual paradise before blaming those amongst us who stand in silent support of the guilty.

Other people talking about this:

Ranting Right Wing Howler, Jay at Stop the ACLU; The Radio Patriots; and Silly Lizzie's Rock.

All of these stories were found in the last couple days posted to Lucianne.

'Border Baby' boom strains S. Texas - There's a picture with the story of an illegal alien who's given birth to her fourth child on American soil at American taxpayer expense who thinks it's owed to her!

Of course the real story is how 'anchor babies' are breaking the backs of South Texas hospitals.

In Memory of a Hero

On September 28, 2005, Airman 1st Class Elizabeth Jacobson was providing convoy security near Camp Bucca, Iraq, when the vehicle she was riding in was hit by an improvised explosive device.

"We're only on earth for a little while, so live life to the fullest and carry a smile."
-- Airman 1st Class Elizabeth Jacobson

Airman Jacobson was raised in California, but lived here in South Florida before joining the Air Force. The Palm Beach Post tells us:

In Iraq, she was a security guard, surveying military perimeters from elevated guard towers. But relatives say the 21-year-old volunteered for a more risky assignment guarding convoys, a job that would ultimately kill her.

On Wednesday she died outside the Iraqi city of Safwan when a bomb exploded near her convoy, making her the ninth Iraq casualty from Palm Beach County or the Treasure Coast. Her death hit hard with relatives, even as they spoke with pride about her decision to leave behind the relative safety of guard towers for perilous duty on the open Iraqi roads.

"She could have stayed there, but she was trained to do convoy duty and asked to do that," said her stepmother, Alison Jacobson. "I think it speaks to her bravery."

Airman First Class Jacobson was the first female Airman killed in the line of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I didn't know Elizabeth, but I wish that I had. Elizabeth sounds like the kind of person I would have liked to be my friend and I feel the loss of this bright and beautiful young woman who gave her all for her Country, and for my personal freedom.

Her resting place shall be in the Garden of Eden.
Therefore, the Master of mercy will care for her
under the protection of His wings for all time
And bind her soul in the bond of everlasting life.
God is her inheritance and she will rest in peace
and let us say Amen.

I've received an email from Elizabeth's Grandmother telling me there will be a Memorial for A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Copans Road in Pompano Beach, FL at 5:30 on Thursday the 28th, 2006. Please attend if you can and if you can't attend, please leave a note for the family at the Elizabeth N. Jacobson Online Memorial. And please, spread the word!

Dream On

Steven Tyler, lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith, dedicated the group's hit song "Dream On" to abducted soldier Ehud Goldwasser at the request of his wife Karnit during a New York concert this week.

In an interview with Army Radio, Karnit Goldwasser said that her husband loves Aerosmith, and that she was moved to tears when Tyler dedicated the song to the abducted soldiers.

I guess we all we know what Ehud Goldwasser is dreaming of today, his family, his home and his freedom.

Dream until your dream comes true!

Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It goes by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows
where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life
is in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dreams come true

Thank you Steven Tyler, that was beautiful gesture, and more than Olmert is willing to do for our soldiers who are in enemy hands.

Thank you Beth!

Olmert Habayta

It means "Olmert Go Home."

Like a general in search of troops, Olmert gathered 2000 of what were supposed to be his Kadima loyalists for a New Year's Ball and began delivering a string of self-congratulatory platitudes that distinctly suggested he was living on another planet from the rest of us. With a poll showing that only 7 percent of Israelis still want him to be Prime Minister (and most of that 7 percent probably live in Tel Aviv and rarely venture out of cafes), Olmert delivered a delusional speech full of quotes such as;

"Kadima is today the most important political force in the country...Kadima has had no major failure in the last Knesset...the public's feelings towards the war do not reflect its real achievements...the nations of the world understand the great achievements of this war."

As Olmert was addressing the crowd claiming that Israel is stronger than ever under him and Sharon's Disengagement plan made it that way, a number of IDF Reservists and parents of dead soldiers began to disrupt his speech raising banners, chanting protests and demanding he resign.

In the video you will see the father of a dead Golani soldier holding up the Golani flag and saying that Olmert doesn't care and doesn't know what he's doing, while another father shouts that Olmert should resign; as a Kadima party member attempts to violently assault them.

Slogans are chanted especially.

"Olmert Habayta. Olmert Go Home."

While the cameras turn to the audience ignoring Olmert's speech, Olmert breaks into his speech to say that, "this is a democracy and I recognize there are many different opinions but the majority agree with me."

There's more at Sultan Knish, and he has the video as well.

L'shanah tovah tikatev v'taihatem

"Today is the birthday of the world". This does not refer to the first day of creation, but rather to the sixth day - the creation of Man, for whom the entire universe was created. We believe that God not only created, but continues to take an active role in running the world. It makes sense that, as in every large enterprise or project, there is a regular (yearly) review and plan for the upcoming year.

On Rosh Hashana it is written, and on Yom Kippur it is sealed - how many will pass from the earth and how many will be created; who will live and who will die; who will die at his predestined time and who before his time; who by water and who by fire, who by sword, who by beast, who by famine who by plague, who by strangulation and who by stoning. Who will rest and who will wander, who will live in harmony and who will be harried, who will enjoy tranquility and who will suffer, who will be impoverished and who will be enriched, who will be degraded and who will be exalted. U'netanu Tokef prayer

Truth
is the
Sword of Gevurah
that the Just Warrior wields with Mighty Power!

I say unto Thee:

Defend Thy Honor fiercely
with Noble Courage that Towers above the Tide.

I say unto Thee:

Feed the Hungry of Body and Spirit,
Give them Hope for Health and Livelihood.

I say unto Thee:

Protect the folk from those who would seek to steal away
their precious rights!

I say unto Thee:

Be Thou Swift to shine the Light of Truth upon
those who deceive, delude and dishonor,
hiding behind the dark veil of privilege.

Shine the Light now,
so that Ye may walk with Honor to Thy Destiny.

Rememberest Thou:
whatsoever is the will of man...
the Lord God demands Truth and Justice
from those who would seek to serve
Heaven...

Understand why it Rains, Know why the Wind Howls:
Be Wise when you are offered the Hand of Redemption!
Justice must prevail!

You are the Servant
that must Right the great Injustice that has been wrought.

What a crock..

So... Hugo Chavez mouths off some democrat talking points over at the UN and what happens?

Nancy Pelosi went so far as to say Chavez humiliated himself with his anti-Bush remarks. What amazing commentary from a woman who has been attacking Bush for years, and went so far as to say he is mentally unstable. Rangel has said worse, much worse. Democrats call Bush evil all the time, they've accused him of genocide in Iraq and murder of American civilians here in the United States.

Why the sudden change of heart? Well... there is a election coming up and I think my friend Janette has hit the nail on the head...

"Go forth and decieve the masses. Appear to be patriotic for the elections shall soon come. For I say unto you, one day of flag waving shall buy you good will in November."

And lo, the sheep flocked to the microphones and declared their support of Bushchimphitler with the hope that they would soon defeat him.

As soon as I read that, I knew she was right. Dang but we lost something when Janette stopped blogging.

The above was shamelessly stolen from AbbaGav, who reminds us that:

Well... Duh

Since Dylan's arguing that the government has no problem killing 3,000 innocent people, this raises the question: if his documentary is true, and we've established that the government has no ethical qualms about killing thousands of its own people, then why wouldn't the government kill Avery and his friends as well? What's a few more lives to them to ensure the success of this conspiracy?

Whatever reason it may be that the government supposedly orchestrated this conspiracy, it must have been worth it to them to cause so much suffering and loss of life. So if there's any truth to this, then you can bet your ass that the government wouldn't let a couple of pecker-neck chumps with a couple of Macs and too much time on their hands jeopardise their entire operation by letting this stupid video float around on the Internet.

Now we're expected to believe that the same government that was able to commit the largest terrorist operation in history--with military precision no less--is suddenly too incompetent to sniff out and shut down a little website set up by some college losers within days, if not minutes of its creation?

There's more... but that and the cartoons are the best part. And for the record, I like Glenn Beck!

Farewell Oriana

“I leave shreds of my soul on every experience.” - Oriana Fallaci

Oriana Fallaci has passed away.

"I do not believe in vile acquittals, phony appeasements, easy forgiveness. Even less, in the exploitation or the blackmail of the word Peace. When peace stands for surrender, fear, loss of dignity and freedom, it is no longer peace. It is suicide." - Oriana Fallaci

Oriana is one of the most renowned journalists of the modern era and in final years, was indicted by a judge in her native Italy under provisions of the Italian Penal Code which proscribe the “vilipendio” or “vilification” of “any religion admitted by the state.”

As one of the most honest and active critics of radical Islam, Oriana died while in exile from her country, where she faced imprisonment for "the defamation of Islam."

Alas, she lost her battle with cancer, yet, even in her last days, she soldiered on.

"The secret of happiness is freedom, the secret of freedom is courage."

"Don’t believe in a dialog with Islam. That’s a naivete. It can only be a monologue. They do not believe in pluralism. There is no such thing as a “moderate Islam” and a Radical Islam. There is only one Islam."

"The real enemy is Islam and the most catastrophic threat is immigration not terror."

Our prayers are with you, Oriana. Godspeed, and thank you for being you.

Never, Never,

Never bring a knife to a gun fight:

... two men were in a heated argument with another man, and for a moment it appeared that all three were ready to leave. Then events moved quickly and got scary fast.

“The victim pulled out that sword, and then the guy in the white shirt whipped out the revolver and shot him,” witness Erin Hurst said.

Pick up your pen!

The fifth anniversary of September 11 has come and gone. Many of us relived the horror of that day 5 years ago when 2,996 people were slaughtered in the name of the death cult known as islam. We vowed never to forget.

We should include the first attack on the World Trade Center in that same vow, we should never forget. We should never forgive, and we should seek out those who plot against us and punish them severely.

A rare and unique opportunity is here now, for America to help punish the enemy amongst us who aided and abetted the islamic terrorists responsible for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center.

Please, pick up your pen now, while the horror of five years ago is fresh in your mind. Pick up your pen and help lock up those amongst us who would aid terrorists in their quest to destroy us.

Please, pick up your pen and help send a message that America will not tolerate traitors amongst us! If you think you can't make a difference, you can! If you think you can't help punish those who would plot with our enemies against us, you can. But you have to do it now.

This may be your last chance to make a difference in this case. Please, pick up your pen!

BACKGROUND:

Throughout her legal career, Lynne Stewart has represented terrorists, both domestic and international. From the notorious Weatherman of the 1960s to the islamic terrorists who bombed the World Trade Center in the 1990s, Lynne Stewart has made a career out of representing and supporting those who are sworn to destroy our Country.

On February 10, 2005, Lynne Stewart was convicted of helping terrorists by smuggling messages of violence from one of her imprisoned clients -- a radical Egyptian sheik -- to his terrorist disciples on the outside.

Lynne Stewart was convicted of providing material support, through a press conference and allowing access by her translator, to a terrorist conspiracy to kill persons outside of the United States and conspiring to defraud the U.S. government when acting as counsel to Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind Egyptian cleric who was convicted in 1996 of plotting terrorist attacks against various sites in the New York City area. Finally caught in the snares of justice, Lynne Stewart is now facing sentencing for her crimes, and your help is needed to be sure she receives the maximum sentence allowable by law.

Lynne was recorded bragging about her skills as an actress which she used to fool the prison guards into believing she was a lawyer instead of a terrorist, saying, "I can get an award for it" which was translated to the Sheikh: "She is saying, Your Eminence, that she can get an award for acting (all three laugh).

"The September 11 terrorist attacks on America were an "armed struggle" like Hiroshima and Dresden. I have a lot of trouble figuring out why that is wrong, especially when people are placed in a position of having no other way." Lynne Stewart

Yes Lynne. The September 11 terrorist attacks on America were what any rational thinking person would consider to be an act of war against of America, and you helped it happen.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. This woman is truly an enemy of America. In her own words:

"I don't have any problem with Mao or Stalin or the Vietnamese leaders or certainly Fidel locking up people they see as dangerous. Because so often, dissidence has been used by the greater powers to undermine a people's revolution." Lynne Stewart

Lynne, I don't have any problem with the United States of America locking you up and locking you down too, with no outside communication with anyone for any reason, for the rest of your miserable life. In fact, I'm gonna help them do it. You are a terrorist Lynne, and you are dangerous. You should be incarcerated for life, and, I think you should pay for your incarceration out of your own personal private funds, saving the taxpayers the cost of your three hots and a cot.

and during her trial:

"To rid ourselves of the entrenched, voracious type of capitalism that is in this country that perpetuates sexism and racism, I don't think that can come nonviolently." Lynne Stewart

What America really needs, Lynne, is to rid itself of the entrenched voracious type of leftist thinking that perpetuates terrorism against Americans. You are the problem Lynne, not the solution.

"I don’t believe in anarchistic violence, but in directed violence. That would be violence directed at the institutions which perpetuate capitalism, racism, and sexism, and the people who are the appointed guardians of those institutions, and accompanied by popular support." Lynne Stewart

Ya know Lynne, the more I get to know you, the more I think that I could support a bit of violence directed towards you in the form of capital punishment. In fact, I think the case could be made that incarceration is not the proper punishment for the terrorist that you are and that perhaps something a little more final might be appropriate. And, I think at least 61 million rational, thinking Americans would provide the requisite popular support for such a notion.

NO LENIENCY - LOCK HER UP AND LOCK HER DOWN!

ON OCTOBER 16, 2006, LYNNE STEWART WILL BE SENTENCED. JUDGE KOELTL VOWS "NO FURTHER ADJOURNMENTS" FOR THIS EVENT.

YOU CAN HELP BE SURE THAT LYNNE RECEIVES THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE ALLOWED FOR HER CRIMES AGAINST AMERICA.

The sentencing is now set for October 16, 2006 and we can help lock Lynne up for life by writing the Judge and asking him to show no leniency to Lynne Stewart for her crimes and asking him to impose the maximum sentence allowed for plotting with terrorists.

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.

The Judge's address is:

Honorable John G. Koeltl
United States District Judge
Southern District of New York
United States Courthouse
500 Pearl Street
New York, New York 10007

Briefly say who you are and discuss yourself - your position in work and in society. State that you are aware that Lynne is to be sentenced following a jury verdict of guilty on charges of crimes against America. Tell the Judge why you believe she should be made an example of, and not given any leniency whatsoever. Feel free to remind the Judge of who she is by using the quotes above.

Send a copy of your letter to the lawyers who prosecuted Lynn, so they can present them all to the Judge at sentencing time, they will have the maximum impact as he considers the matter:

Joseph E. Bianco, Esq.
Christopher T. Morvillo, Esq.
Assistant United States Attorneys
Southern District of New York
United States Attorney's Office
One St. Andrews Plaza
New York, NY 10007

This is your chance to raise your voice and be heard!

I say let Justice be served:

Just a suggestion...

In honor of a Hero

As part of the 2996 Project - today we remember, and honor the victims of the September 11 attacks.

never enough of it
time marches on
trickles away
each day
dies
and
each day
a new dawn
time marches on
never enough of it

John Chipura knew how precious life was. He learned that lesson at age 21, on October 23, 1983 as a Marine in Beirut.

John was a 21 year old radio operator on his second tour as a member of the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment 24th Marine Amphibious Unit. He was stationed in Beirut when terrorists with a truck bomb took out the battalion headquarters barracks and killed 241 of his fellow leathernecks and service men.

John dodged death and came home from that tragedy. He didn't speak much about it, he didn't dwell on the fact that he survived because he was leaving the barracks early to assume his post as a radio operator when the bomb exploded. He didn't dwell on the fact that the man walking just behind him was killed.

John's brother, Gerard Chipura, a fireman with Ladder Company 148, said his brother never forgot his experiences as a Marine. "We didn’t know it, but John kept in touch with all the families from the bombing," his brother Gerard said, "I don't think John ever thought he would live to see anything worse than what he saw that day in Beirut."

He was marked by the experience. "When he came back, he was more of a hugging person. He knew how precious life was because it could all be over in a second." - Nancy Chipura, John's sister

His brother Gerard said John was missing for three whole days in Beirut before he was able to get through to the family and let them know he was fine. He said the 9/11 deja-vu experience was painfully "surreal." "My sister said, 'I'm going to give him three days.' But he hasn't shown up yet. Not this time," said his brother.

John lived his life to the end as a hero.

Gerard and his family find solace in the words that John wrote in November 2000, on the occasion of the Corps 225 birthday: "We Marines are truly blessed. We get to enjoy the sweet taste of this Freedom because we know its price."

“He was a true Marine" . - FDNY Lt. John Atwell

After his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1987, John desired to continue serving the community and joined the city Police Department in 1987. He was assigned to the 72nd Precinct in his old neighborhood, Sunset Park, for seven years. John devoted three years service in Brooklyn South Narcotics and then returned to the 72nd Precinct as a detective.

“As a police officer he was always looking to clean up the neighborhood and help other families. He was very caring, and nothing got in his way or bothered him.” - Gina DeFalco, John's Fiancee.

After 12 years of service to the NYPD, John yearned for the camaraderie of the firehouse; his brother, Gerard, was a fireman, as their father, Anthony, had been. In August, 1998, John achieved his dream.

Following the footsteps of his father, Anthony Chipura, John joined the city Fire Department. "He knew you work as a team, as a unit in the Fire Department -- he liked that,' said his brother. "He always thought people call the Police Department when there's a problem, to get somebody bad, but you call the Fire Department when people needed help."

Graduating from firefighter training in 1998, John Chipura was assigned to Engine Co. 219, Brooklyn, for one year. He then rotated through Ladder Co. 81, South Beach, and Engine Co. 80 in Manhattan. John had recently returned to Engine Co. 219 to once again serve Downtown Brooklyn.

On Sept. 11, he arrived at Engine 219 to work the day tour and was detailed to Ladder Co. 105, which is housed in the same location. After reports of the first attack, he called his sister, Nancy Chipura, who worked on the 69th Floor of Tower 1. He was unable to make contact. Just before responding to the World Trade Center, John called his fiancee, Gina DeFalco, who also worked Downtown, for more information about Nancy. He received no word about his sister when he arrived at the scene at 8:45 a.m. with Ladder 105. “There wasn’t any news,” said Ms. DeFalco, “but later, when I heard that Nancy was safe, I called John to tell him. But his ladder company had already left.” John and the five other firefighters in the truck have not been heard from since.

Witnesses told the family he was last seen assisting in the evacuation of many people from Tower 2. "He was inside when it collapsed," said his brother. "I know he was looking for my sister."

Mr. Chipura and Ms. DeFalco, who met through a friend in the Fire Department, had planned to marry just six weeks after Sept. 11. "Getting married was the sole focus of his being for the last few months," said his brother. "He was 39-years-old and finally found the right girl. He held her so close to his heart."

Gerard Chipura said his brother was always trying to help people and make them "feel good." "He wanted to make everybody happy. He didn't want anybody to be upset," said his brother. "When John was not serving the community, he was serving his family and friends. He was a great conversationalist, problem solver, hard worker and friend," said his brother. "John embraced hobbies such as country dancing and motorcycling because he liked the sense of community he found."

John Chipura was a mentor for many at Boy Scout Troop 21. He was a member of the troop since 1974 and went on to serve as assist scout master until he was lost in the attack. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Iwo Jima Association and the Beirut Veterans Memorial Association. John was also a member of St. Joseph and St. Thomas Parish, Pleasant Plains.

His mother, Jane Chipura, died in 1994 and his father, Anthony, died in 1996. In addition to his brother, Gerard, and his sister, Nancy Chipura, surviving are his twin sister, Susan Cohen; another sister, Eileen Cella; and several nieces and nephews. John also left behind the love of his life, Gina DeFalco.

Dear John,

In the blink of an eye
Our lives went awry
Not a day has gone by
That we all do not cry

For what we had
For what was planned
For what took place
For what was yet to be

For births, promotions, holidays, birthdays,
graduations, bar mitzvahs
Celebrated without you, but always thinking of you
Another blink of an eye

And a year has gone by
How can it be?
It went so fast and yet so much has passed
So many tears, can it only be a year?

Lives went on, go on, different, not the same
We try, we share, we wonder why
We try to make sense of that blink of an eye
We try to make each blink count

We try to do what you would want us to
We try to make that blink of an eye
Mean something.

Help us, show us, tell us
Be there as you always were
In our hearts, in our thoughts
In every blink of our eyes.

With all our love always,

Your family, friends, fiancé and Mom-to-be

Except for the short poem at the beginning of this post, none of these words are mine. They are culled from various articles on the internet. I have never met John Chipura, but I wish I had the opportunity to do so. In life, John touched so many lives, not only his family and friends, but also, every person he came into contact with. Serving as a Marine, John protected our freedom, and as police officer and a fireman, John helped make so many people safe.

I feel a special kind of love for John Chipura, and I thank G-d for men like him.

His resting place shall be in the Garden of Eden.
Therefore, the Master of mercy will care for him
under the protection of His wings for all time
And bind his soul in the bond of everlasting life.
God is his inheritance and he will rest in peace
and let us say Amen.

The Path to 9/11

What the Democrats don't want you to see, you can see here, right now.

Nothing we didn't already know, goodness knows Clinton admitted it on video and audio, many times.

Amen

Its Good to be King

Meet Nyimi Kok Mabiintsh III, King of Kuba, D.R. Congo

The Nyimi Mabiintsh III is fifty years old. He acquired the throne at the age of twenty. As a descendant of god the creator, the king is attributed with supernatural powers.

Due to his top position he is restricted by several contraints: he does not have the right to sit on the ground, and he cannot cross a cultivated field. Apart from his cook, no one has seen him eat. Moreover he never travels without him, and his personal cooking ustensils.

His royal apparel is called the "bwantshy." The outfit is made out of material stitched with beads and "cauris" (small shells used as money in Africa), and weighs 160 lb. It takes more than two hours to dress the King, and two days of spiritual preparation to be sufficiently purified in order to wear the outfit.

The weight and the heat of the bwantshy is such, that it is impossible to wear it more than one hour. The preceeding King had only worn it three time during his entire life.

More Kings here.

Sex toys go green

So you eat organic veggies, drive a hybrid, and use eco-friendly detergent? What about sex toys? Make sure you are sitting comfortably to learn about what chemicals you may be taking to bed with you. Do you dare to go green between your organic sheets?

The video is kinda funny, but they're talking about stainless steel butt plugs, sex toys made from Pyrex and blown glass. What exactly is green about a stainless steel butt plug? These people are crazy.

Beheadings by Mexicans

I guess its just another "job" Americans don't want to do:

An armed gang of suspected drug traffickers threw five human heads on to the dance floor of a bar in western Mexico early yesterday in an apparent revenge killing.

Wielding pistols and rifles, 20 men dressed in black drove up to the Light and Shade bar in the city of Uruapan, barged into the club and fired shots in the air. They forced late-night revellers to lie on the floor and pulled the five male heads out of plastic bags, dumping them on the floor along with a handwritten message.

The victims have not been identified, and the rest of their bodies have not been found.

Thirteen people have been decapitated in the area this year.

Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Its football season!

So. Katherine Harris won the primary and sadly, there's just no way she can get enough cross-over votes to win. Its likely that means we will lose that seat to a democrat in the election. Even worse is the idea that I'm gonna have to vote for Crist for Governor, Crist is all for amnesty for the criminals who sneack into this country and for making it easier for enemies to send in personnel. I'm going to have to think long and hard before I vote for him, I just don't think I can bring myself to do it.

What does that have to do with football? Nothing, I know, but... I needed a laugh and I found one. Its not about football either but it is connected in a roundabout way. Its the story of a former NFL Raiders Cheerleader.

Its also an inspiring story, an inspiring Jewish story, and it has some funny moments. So if you feel a little out of sorts and depressed about November, it might put a smile on your face too.

An NFL Raiders' Cheerleader has a spiritual epiphany while signing autographs at Pep Boys in East L.A. From hot pants, pom poms and boots, she begins the journey that leads her to Judaism and marriage - to a Rabbi.

The Rabbi and the Cheerleader

Funny how life imitates art. I read a book not too very long ago called the Rabbi, and it was based on this same premise. In the book, they didn't quite live happily ever after, but it was close.

I found it at Life of Rubin's Shtus Blog.
