Channeling Bin Laden

First comes the de-funding of the War on Terror and then, we cut and run to Okinawa. As history repeats itself, what is the message to our enemies?

In our childhood… When we were young boys… I cannot forget the sight of the America forces leaving Viet Nam in helicopters, which carried their officers and soldiers. Some Vietnamese, who had fought alongside the Americans, tried to climb into these helicopters, but the [Americans] threw them to the ground, abandoned them, and left.

This is the sight I anticipate in our region.

...I advise all those who place their trust in the Americans to learn the lesson of Viet Nam. ...they will abandon them… just like they did to all those who placed their trust in them throughout history.

It's amazing how much he sounds like Bin Laden:

"You have been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew. The extent of your impotence and weaknesses has become very clear," he said. “When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature they will like the strong horse.” Osama Bin Laden, 1996 on the U.S. retreat from Somalia in 1993

“After leaving Afghanistan, the Muslim fighters headed for Somalia and prepared for a long battle thinking that the Americans were like the Russians. The youth were surprised at the low morale of the American soldiers and realized, more than before, that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows……would run in defeat.” Osama Bin Laden, 1998

"We have seen in the last decade the decline of American power and the weakness of the American soldier who is ready to wage Cold Wars, but unprepared to fight long wars. This was proven in Beirut in 1983 when the Marines fled after two explosions. It also proves they can run in less than 24 hours, and this was also repeated in Somalia. Osama Bin Laden, 1998

We have reached the point when rhetoric becomes meaningless, and noble words ring hollow. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has suggested that there is a very high probability (70%) of a successful terrorist attack in America with weapons of mass destruction in the near future. Our illegal immigration policy increases that probability.

If the perception of American weakness persists in the minds of the Islamic fascists in Iraq or elsewhere, then we will be fighting them in our streets.

It's just a matter of time.
