Ohfercryinoutloud!
This is some happy horseshit for sure:
Democratic State Legislator Bernard Gladstone whimsically hit upon an idea to solve the fiscal crisis. He introduced a bill to abolish the income tax and instead exact a $2 levy upon every act of sexual intercourse performed in the state.
Banking on either gallantry, male chauvinism or both, Gladstone suggested that only men should pay, and on a voluntary basis. Otherwise, he speculated, tax inspectors might find the law difficult to enforce. By some inscrutable formula, Gladstone announced that for every male Rhode Islander, his tax would bring in $2 a week.
Before long the outcry against Gladstone's "bad taste" was loud enough to force him to withdraw his modest proposal.
what a friggin' moron.

The Moderate Moslems have arrived!
and they are speaking out at Muslim Bridges...
We the moderate Muslims are doing our best to build Bridges and spread the Peace with "People of the Book" (Jews, Christians, Muslims), and others who are also our brethrens in humanity. But we can’t do it alone and we need your help.
We can tell you that most people around us, are loving, and supportive of us. This is a great Country, as we are free to practice Islam, and contribute to our society. Sometimes we get hate emails, but for each one of those, we may receive dozens and dozens of positive and supportive messages.
It is true that radical Muslims have caused much damage to all of us in the US, and not just Muslims. But ironically, people who are spreading Islamophobia are actually helping these radicals, and hurting us. Every time we try to speak out, and provide more tolerant and inclusive interpretations of Islam, they accuse of lying. They only wish to present Islam from the most radical interpretation. Who are they serving with this agenda? They are certainly not helping the moderate Muslims. Don’t slam the door on us. Join us to say “No to Hate”, “No to racism”, and “No to Islamophobia”.
So... the first bridge calls on Jews and Christians to unite with Molsems:

We should all listen carefully to what they have to say, especially when they explain all about terrorism and surprise... its Israel who is the terrorist:

In moderate moslem land, Jimmy Carter speaks truth to power and Israel should be destroyed, Jihad is all about human rights, Rachel Corrie is a hero who was murdered by the evil zionists, suicide bombing is a military strategy of the oppressed, Israel tortures palestinians, and the evil American Military forces innocent and peaceful patriotic moslem soldiers to kill innocent Iraqis.
In moderate moslem land, islam is pretty much just like Christianity, there are only four differences, and islam has been in solidarity with the Jews for centuries. So the message is... everyone unite and put an end to terrorism by converting to islam and destroying Israel, because islam is not the source of terrorism, it is the solution.
Sheesh.
The site does just what it advertises though, it says that if you have questions about moderate moslems, you will find all the answers. It's true! I've often wondered what a moderate moslem would sound like and I found the answer at the Bridge.
Moderate moslems sound just like extremist moslems.

CHICHAWATNI, Pakistan Three members of a suspected suicide bomb teamwere blown to pieces on Saturday when their bike laden with explosives hit a bump outside a town in Pakistan's central province of Punjab, police said.
The men killed by the blast near Chichawatni, some 120 km (75 miles) north of Multan, were believed to have been on their way to attack a prayer meeting for a policeman killed in an encounter a few days ago, according to Southern Punjab Additional Inspector General Mirza Mohammed Ali.
At least two of the dead men were students at a nearby madrasa, suspected of having links to Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, a banned Sunni Muslim sectarian militant group, according to Deputy Superintendent Bashir Ahmed.
"The head of one man has been blown off," Ahmed told Reuters. Another of the dead men had his legs blown off, while the third had his stomach ripped open and died later in hospital, police said.
Initial investigations suggested the explosive was home-made.

Never Forget!
Today is the 14th anniversary of the bombing of the World Trade Center parking garage on February 26, 1993.
Seven Americans were murdered (including an unborn baby carried by one of the adult victims). Over 1,000 were injured.

The mastermind of the bombing, Ramzi Yousef, was convicted in 1998 and is presently rotting away in in prison. The spiritual leader of the terrorists who conducted the bombing, Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, is also rotting away in prison and will hopefully croak soon.
A small stone memorial in honor of the victims of the 1993 bombing was erected in the WTC. Of course, it was destroyed in the 9/11/01 attacks.

We should never forget the 1993 WTC bombing and the victims:
* John DiGiovanni, Valley Stream, New York
* Robert Kirkpatrick, Suffern, New York
* Steve Knapp, Manhattan, New York City
* Monica Smith, Seaford, New York (and unborn baby)
* William Macko, Bayonne, New Jersey
* Wilfredo Mercado, Brooklyn, New York City
In a conversation with an attorney only a few months after September 11, 2001, he said the most amazing thing about September 11, 2001. He said to me, "well, it is the first act of terrorism on US soil." You see, he had already forgotten.
The bomb in the garage was intended to cause one tower to fall into the other, and additional attacks were planned for the UN Building, the FBI Headquarters the Holland Tunnel, the Lincoln Tunnel, and the George Washington Bridge.
"My impression was that fighting terrorism, in general, and fighting al Qaeda, in particular, were an extraordinarily high priority in the Clinton administration -- certainly no higher priority. There were priorities probably of equal importance such as the Middle East peace process, but I certainly don't know of one that was any higher in the priority of that administration." Former Counter-Terrorism Official Richard Clark, during the 9/11 Commission Hearings
You have to wonder what alternate reality Mr. Clark was living in, as, rather than treat this attack as a declaration of war, the Clinton Administration chose to treat it as crime, using law enforcement agencies to investigate. And, two weeks after the 1993 WTC attack, President Clinton was at a defense plant talking about retoolling defense plants to peacetime production, at a cost of $1.5 billion dollars.
In all fairness, the FBI investigation resulted in the arrest and conviction of the terrorists who carried out the attack, but still, the trial did not bring awareness of the extent of the threat to America, instead, it lulled us into a false sense of security, believing that the bad guys were caught, convicted and locked up.
Nothing could be farther from the truth:
The investigation following the explosions linked several distinct groups to the bombing and revealed a conspiracy to target other New York City landmarks such as the United Nations building. One of these groups included five defendants who were arrested during a raid at a New York City garage in which law enforcement officials found the five mixing chemicals that were to be used in bombs. The men were charged with conspiring to bomb a building in the United Nations headquarters, the federal office building housing the FBI, and two tunnels under the Hudson River linking New York and New Jersey.
From this group, members of Fuqra, the FBI found links to 10 additional suspects and a federal grand jury indicted all 15 on charges that they plotted to bomb the United Nations and other New York City landmarks, and plotted to assassinate Egyptian leaders. Across the board, bail was denied. Fuqra is a radical Islamic sect whose followers are believed to be responsible for a string of crimes in the United States.
These groups still operate in the United States of America, and they pose a real threat to our safety and well being.
The events on February 26, 1993 should have been a wake-up call for America, but we went right back to sleep. Islamic terrorism had arrived on our shores and as a nation, we chose to ignore the threat. Today, the words of an eyewitness on February 26, 1993 are haunting:

Our enemies hated us then, as they hate us now. The only thing that changed was that on September 11, 2001 they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. And, as the saying goes, nothing succeeds like success.
Girl on the Right remembered, Blue Star Chronicles remembered, and so did Beth at Yeah, Right, Whatever.

Speaking Truth to Power
The leader of a Dutch anti-immigration party will call for a vote of no-confidence in two Muslim government ministers next week, citing their dual nationality as the issue, a newspaper reported on Saturday.
In Saturday's interview, Wilders said: "I do not want to live in a country where some day six or seven members of cabinet could be Muslim," adding that Islamic laws were "barbaric", referring to four people who were beheaded in Saudi-Arabia this week.
"I want to encourage Muslims to leave the Netherlands voluntarily. The demographic development should become such, that the chance is small that we again have two Muslims in the cabinet." About 1 million Muslims live in the Netherlands out of a population of 16 million.
Last week Wilders called on Muslims to ditch half the teachings in the Koran and said he would chase Islam's Prophet Mohammad out of the country if he were alive today.

Shabbat Shalom
Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the first manifestation of the approach of our redemption. Shield it with Your loving kindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory.
Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness. Lead them, swiftly and upright, to Your city Zion and to Jerusalem, the abode of Your Name, as is written in the Torah of Your servant Moses: “Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the Lord your God will gather you, from there He will fetch you. And the Lord your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers.”
Draw our hearts together to revere and venerate Your name and to observe all the precepts of Your Torah, and send us quickly the Messiah son of David, agent of Your vindication, to redeem those who await Your deliverance.
Manifest yourself in the splendor of Your boldness before the eyes of all inhabitants of Your world, and may everyone endowed with a soul affirm that the Lord, God of Israel, is king and his dominion is absolute.
Amen

"I see" said the blind man
Israeli newspapers on Thursday ran front-page pictures of Defense Minister Amir Peretz on a hill in the Golan Heights, inspecting his troops through binoculars with the lens caps on.
Peretz joined the new army chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, watching Wednesday's large-scale maneuvers. The pictures show the two side by side with military binoculars held up to their eyes — but Peretz's still have the lens caps in place. The photographer said Peretz raised the capped binoculars three times, nodding as Ashkenazi explained what he was "seeing."
In other news, yesterday Peretz said that 'he plans to go all the way' in the the evacuation of what he calls"illegal" outposts. Because that's the single most important issue for Israel right now.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

The 110th Congress is "all about the children"
If only those San Francisco Values wouldn't get in the way:
"Since 1994, medical experts have known how to prevent HIV transmission from mother to child. “Baby AIDS” can be virtually eliminated if expectant mothers with HIV are identified and treated with AIDS drugs. Infants whose mothers’ HIV status is unknown may also be protected if HIV antibodies are detected soon after birth and treatment is promptly administered. With treatment, the risk of transmission from mother to child can be reduced to less than one percent. Without treatment, 25 percent of children born to mothers with HIV will become infected, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This may be perhaps the single most significant achievement in the battle against HIV/AIDS."
In 2006, Congress established a $30 million HIV early intervention grant program—funded out of CDC’s HIV prevention budget—to provide financial incentives to assist other states eliminate baby AIDS.
So what happened? Defunded. By the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Congressional leadership didn't get nearly the kicking around it deserved for one particularly despicable provision in the fiscal 2007 spending bill: a clause which canceled funding for a program to prevent unborn babies from contracting HIV from infected mothers.
Where does the money go? Well, it reverts back to the CDC, and used on other projects, such as:

A Gathering of Eagles

On you we all depend.
To serve, to stand, support our war,
Our fallen to defend.
Stand firm, stand brave before our Wall;
Deal those a sorry fate,
Who answer Fonda's hateful call:
Our nation they must hate.
Fly high you Eagles, soar,
Your keen eyes see below,
The leftist fools oppose this war,
To them no low's too low.
They seek our Wall to desecrate,
To enhance their losing cause;
They seek to doom our nation's fate;
They see nothing but our flaws.
Fly high you Eagles, soar,
Above those who seek defeat,
Who seek submission, nothing more,
To a terror they can't meet.
They falter when the course is long;
They're weak-willed, failed and bitter;
Got it all entirely wrong,
So typical of a quitter.
Fly high you Eagles, soar,
Stand proud before our Wall;
You are the nation's heart, the core,
The essence of us all.
Know that we stand there with you,
In spirit and in soul,
America's not lost, not through,
We've a long, long way to go.
Fly high you Eagles, soar, from your lofty, special station,
Know this is true forever more; you've the blessing of your nation.

Vietnam Veteran
Leftist scum, led by Cindy Sheehan, Jane Fonda, Ramsey Clark and their ilk, plan to gather March 17 at the Vietnam Memorial Wall to begin a march to protest America's involvement in the Iraq war. The date marks the fourth anniversary of the war's beginning.
This time, however, protestors will see objectors if they spit on Iraqi veterans again, or throw paint on a war memorial. This time, they will encounter a buzz saw of Vietnam veterans and supporters who will gather to protect the Wall, and show their support for U.S. troops. The counter-protestors are calling themselves the Gathering of Eagles.
Click the image to check out the new Gathering of Eagles blog and check the forum here. It's time to get involved, people. If you can't make it to Washington that day, won't you at least help spread the word?

When you lie down with dogs, you get fleas
I spotted this over at MidEast Youth...

The story...
EL-ARISH, Egypt - Egyptian border and security authorities have arrested 23 Palestinians and Egyptians in the Sinai region, including one who was wearing an explosives belt and had crossed from Gaza to Egypt in an underground tunnel, security officials said Wednesday.
The authorities put their security forces in northern Sinai on high alert Wednesday in a bid to make sure that no more armed people were at large. Police set up more checkpoints and border guards were seen using iron poles to probe the ground near the newly found tunnel in a search for more. One of the Palestinian detainees, a man in his early 20s, was caught Tuesday as he tried to cross the Gaza-Egypt border in an underground tunnel near the Egyptian border city of Rafah. He had wrapped himself in an explosives belt, said the soldier who caught him, Mohammed Abdel Wahab.
The arrested man told Egyptian state security officials that he had been plotting an attack with other Palestinians in Sinai, said an official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.
Oh come on Patrick, they're just fighting for their freedom from oppression, remember? Why don't you just give your "brothers" a state on some of your land? Share some of your "bread and butter" with them? If you do, maybe they won't blow you to bits.
Yeah, yeah, I know, its easy for you to support them when they are only killing joos...

Score one for the Good Guys!
Guantanamo inmates denied legal challenge
WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that foreign-born prisoners seized as potential terrorists and held in Guantanamo Bay cannot challenge their detention in U.S. courts, a key victory for President George W. Bush’s anti-terrorism plan.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled 2-1 that civilian courts no longer have the authority to consider whether the military is illegally holding the prisoners — a decision that will strip court access for hundreds of detainees with cases currently pending.
Barring federal court access was a key provision in the Military Commissions Act, which Bush pushed through Congress last year to set up a system run by the Defence Department to prosecute terrorism suspects.
At the White House, deputy press secretary Dana Perino called the decision “a significant win” for the administration and said the Military Commissions Act provides “sufficient and fair access to courts for these detainees.”
Under the commissions act, the government can indefinitely detain foreigners who have been designated as “enemy combatants” and authorizes the CIA to use aggressive but undefined interrogation tactics.
Mostly criticized by Democrats and civil libertarians was a provision that stripped U.S. courts of the authority to hear arguments from detainees who said they were being held illegally.
Well! Judges who actually read the law, know the law and make their ruling based on the law! I'm impressed, especially after reading this:
Released Gitmo Detainee Arrested En Route to Iraq
Fahd al-Utaibi a/k/a Naif Fahd Al Aseemi Al Utaibi arrived in Saudi Arabia May 18, 2006 from Guantanamo, along with 14 others released by the US. He is currently on trial in Yemen for forging travel documents in order to join the jihad in Iraq.
The left, and the mainstream media will ignore this story and most of America will never know the true nature of the animals stored at Gitmo, being fed and clothed and coddled with American tax payer dollars.
Bottom line... the bastard should have been shot while trying to escape.

It was probably a botched joke
The aggressively photogenic John Edwards was cruising along, detailing
his litany of liberal causes last week until, during question time, he
invoked the "I" word -- Israel.Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked,
was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. As a chill
descended on the gathering, the Edwards event was brought to a polite close."
Surely he didn't mean that Israel is the greatest threat to world peace, that the people that Iran has vowed to wipe off the face of the earth is the greatest threat to world peace.
It sure sounded like that to me. Especially since acknowledging the threat from Iran would make his anti-war stance a tad ridiculous, wouldn't it? So... what else is there to do but blame the joos.
I don't expect John Edwards to take responsiblity for the anti-semitic streak that is now competing with the yellow streak in him that we've come to know so well.
However, I do expect Jewish people to sit up and take notice of the anti-semitism radiating out of this man.
Thanks Billy, pointing me to Variety, of all places. I don't expect we'll see that reported by the mainstream media.
UPDATE: He denies it.

There is no terrorist threat
NY Man Charged With Trying To Fund Terror
Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari, 53, of Ardsley, N.Y., pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court in Manhattan to an indictment accusing him of terrorism financing, material support of terrorism and other charges. The charges carried a potential penalty of 95 years in prison.
Alishtari, also known as Michael Mixon, was detained pending a court appearance next week after Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan S. Kolodner said Alishtari was a danger to the community and a risk to flee. He was arrested on Thursday in Manhattan, prosecutors said.
The indictment said Alishtari tried to support terrorists between June and December by accepting an unspecified amount of money to transfer $152,000 that he believed was being sent to Pakistan and Afghanistan to support an Afghanistan terrorist training camp.
He believed the money would be used to fund the purchase of night vision goggles and other equipment, the indictment said.
He was also charged with money laundering for allegedly causing the transfer on Aug. 17 of about $25,000 from a bank account in New York to a bank account in Montreal, Canada. The money was to be used to provide material support to terrorist, prosecutors said.
The indictment also charged him with wire fraud conspiracy and wire fraud. It said he devised a scheme to administer and promote a fraudulent loan investment program known as "Flat Eletronic Data Interchange" through which Alishtari and others fraudulently obtained millions of dollars from investors by promising high guaranteed rates of return.

The Sweet Taste of Anti-Semitism
Is now available for your coffee:
Small packets of sugar bearing the likeness of Adolf Hitler and carrying Holocaust jokes have been found in some cafes in Croatia, prompting an investigation, the office of the state prosecutor said on Monday.
The company responsible is Pinki and its owner Anita Ivanecic has no comment: "You can write whatever you want, but I won’t comment anything."
Of course not, since the Novi List daily newspaper noted that the packets have become very popular in local cafes and restaurants. Thousands of these packets have been distributed for months and it took an official protest by The Simon Wiesenthal Centre before they were recalled. Holocaust denial is not a crime in Croatia, unlike a dozen European countries including Austria. There was no immediate response from the authorities, but Zuroff said that the existing law against ethnic, religious and racial intolerance should be applied.
"The local district attorney in (the eastern town of) Pozega has opened an investigation and is currently looking at the matter," said Martina Mihordin.

Danger! Children at Play!
Schools declare themselves 'war toy free zones'
Toy soldiers, model war planes and wrestling figurines have been banned in schools across the state in a politically correct crackdown.
Primary schools and kindergartens have declared themselves "war toy free zones" and outlawed traditional toys and playground games that have even a tenuous link to war.
All schools contacted by the Sunday Herald Sun said they had a policy banning war toys.
Children at primary schools and kindergartens are also forbidden from playing "war-like games" such as cowboys and indians and poison ball.
Okay, you can't play tag, or dodge ball, there will be no game winners in any game. You can't carry a bible or wear religious jewelry. No medications, unless its ritlin and, if you don't have ritlin, well, they'll probably give you some. If you miss a parent-teacher conference, you'll go to jail and if your kid doesn't come to school one day, they'll charge you.
Child psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Greg said the war toy ban had no logical basis.
"There is no evidence playing with toy soldiers or wrestling figurines in any way, shape or form has negative effects on the child's psychological development," he said.
They don't need no steenkin' logic, they're educators.

Is anyone listening?
Palestinian leader to Al-Qaeda: "We hate the Americans more than you!"
by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- Jan. 3, 2007
A former Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister from Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party has wished Al Qaeda success in its attacks against the US, and in its targeting of President George W. Bush. The Fatah leader, Abu Ali Shahin, said in an interview on official PA TV: "Do to Bush whatever you want, and we wish you success... We are fighting the Americans and hate the Americans more than you!"

"Oh [Al-Qaeda] brother, leave us and focus on your business. You have Bush! Do to Bush what you want, and we wish you success with Bush, even more. I, Abu Ali Shahin, wish you success with Bush...
Whoever is interested in creating a split in the Palestinian camp, is not serving anyone but the Americans and their protégé, the Zionist Imperialist Project. We are fighting the Americans and hate the Americans more than you!
We know we are described as enemies of the Americans. About Americans, we say, publicly: the central, head enemy to the Arab Palestinian people and to the national struggle, is this American leadership embodied by the White House and this George Bush sitting there.”

Evolution!
Powerful Texas state Rep. Warren Chisum (R), an advocate of religious-right causes such as banning adoption by gay couples and amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage, has passed along a “memo” from a kindred spirit in the Georgia House claiming that “teaching evolution amounts to indoctrinating students in an ancient Jewish sect’s beliefs,” reports the Dallas Morning-News.
“Indisputable evidence – long hidden but now available to everyone – demonstrates conclusively that so-called ’secular evolution science’ is the Big Bang, 15-billion-year, alternate ‘creation scenario’ of the Pharisee Religion,” writes Mr. Bridges …
Mr. Bridges also supplies a link to a document that describes scientists Carl Sagan and Albert Einstein as “Kabbalists” and laments “Hollywood’s unrelenting role in flooding the movie theaters with explicit or implicit endorsement of evolutionism.”
The site Chisum replies upon also condemns the Jewish conspiracy behind the false claim that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Gravity? Bah! Humbug!
sigh.

The Charlie Daniels Soapbox
An Open Letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi
Dear Sir and Madam:
You have said often enough that you don't believe in the war in Iraq and that you want to bring the troops home. Yet all you do is talk and sign non-binding resolutions which only goes to show that you really don't mean what you say about ending the war or that you're just playing political games and in doing so giving aid and comfort to a dedicated enemy.
Now if you're serious about ending the war you have the means and the votes to do just that. Simply cut off the funding for the troops, bring them all home and the American people can transfer the deed to this war and the ramifications of what you do to the Democrat party and you can live with the results.
You say you support the troops, but that has to be a lie. If you supported them and you truly think the war is wrong, you'd bring them home or either dispense with the poisonous rhetoric and get in behind them and help them get the job done.
You can't have it both ways. If you support the troops do something. Your party won a majority in both houses, so you have control so take the responsibility.
Of course, I think you should remember that when the terrorists follow us home from Iraq and start their attacks on American soil it's too late, so you'd better have a plan to deal with it. Do you have a plan?
And if Iran goes into Iraq and makes it a staging ground for Al Qaida to plan and carry out attacks all over the western world you'll need to deal with that. Do you have a plan?
And if Iran decides to go into Kuwait and cut off the oil flow from the Persian Gulf, you'll need a way to make up for the shortfall. Do you have a plan?
The world would look at us as a country that has not finished a commitment to war since 1945. Do you have a plan for dealing with that?
The purpose of this letter is to call your bluff. I don't believe you have the guts to do anything but talk and talk is cheap. Oh you have no shortage of words but I seriously doubt the amount of backbone you have.
Do you really think that signing a non binding resolution is really fooling anybody into thinking you're anything less than career politicians trying to tip the scales of the O08 Presidential Election.
What you're doing is silly and dangerous. If you really don't like what's going on, change it, do something about it. You've got the power but have you got the guts?
Pray for our troops.
What do you think?
God Bless America

Hurricane Andrew Victim Gets Power After 15 Years
An elderly woman who had been living without power in her home due to hurricane damage was finally seeing the light Friday night, when power to her home was restored. What makes her story amazing is that the hurricane which put her in the dark was Andrew, almost 15 years ago, and she's been living without power to her house since August 24, 1992.
No heat when the winter chill settled over South Florida. No air conditioning when the mercury climbed into the 90's and the humidity clung to 100% .
Not one hot shower at home in nearly 15 years.
And Hurricane Katrina victims continue to whine!

Just another troubled youth
Utah gunman, 18, was Muslim from Bosnia
The 18-year-old gunman who killed five people in a crowded Utah shopping mall was a Bosnian Muslim refugee who was prepared to kill many more, say investigators.
An off-duty police officer having an early Valentine's Day dinner with his wife was credited today with cornering Sulejmen Talovic, exchanging fire with him until other officers arrived to shoot and kill the gunman.
The trench-coated teenager wanted to "to kill a large number of people" and probably would have killed many more if not for the off-duty officer, Police Chief Chris Burbank said.
I know, its WND, but here in the states, the mainstream media won't tell the public he's molsem, just that he was a refugee from Bosnia. Serbannia is reporting it too, under the headline: Bosnian Muslim goes on a killing spree in US mall and everyone is reporting that there is no motive. Of course there's a motive, 72 virgins.
This happens in Israel all the time and they call it what it is... terrorism.
Fox News is reportig that his aunt says he was "such a good boy." Yeah, sure he was... except for that murdering random innocent people thingie...

He said what he meant
Senator Barack Obama of Illinois said Monday that he had misspoken when he suggested that the lives of more than 3,000 American soldiers killed in Iraq had been “wasted.”
Wasted???
As he arrived in New Hampshire, Mr. Obama said he would “absolutely apologize” to military families if they were offended by a remark he made in Iowa while criticizing the Bush administration’s Iraq policy.
You "would" apologize "if" they were offended? It was offensive and you know it, you just won't admit it and that is NOT an apology.
“What I would say — and meant to say — is that their service hasn’t been honored,” Mr. Obama told reporters in Nashua, N.H., “because our civilian strategy has not honored their courage and bravery, and we have put them in a situation in which it is hard for them to succeed.”
A New Hampshire reporter asked Mr. Obama whether he regretted the remark, made at a rally on Sunday that “we ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized and should have never been waged, and to which we now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.”
“Even as I said it,” Mr. Obama said Monday, “I realized I had misspoken.”
It's you who haven't honored their service Obama, you and your party of appeasement. It's your cut and run strategy and your protection of terrorists that handcuff our troops, it's your party that demands terrorists be given rights, privileges and protections never afforded to the enemy before.

That would be you, Obama. You're not fit to be elected dog catcher.

True dat!

Rough translation courtesy of Discarded Lies:
If muslims want to stay they should rip out half of the koran and throw it away. They also shouldn't listen to the imam. That is what Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom Party, said Tuesday in an interview.
According to him, there are "plenty of horrible things" in the holy book of the muslims. Wilders states again that islam is a violent religion. "If Muhammed lived here today, I would propose to chase him as extremist with tar and feathers out of the country".
The politician wants to impress upon people that islam is "the greatest danger that is threatening us". Other parties avoid these themes according to him. "Everything we are proud of we sell to the devil. Old Mossad chief Efraim Halevy says the Third World War has started. I wouldn't quite say it the same way, but it's correct", says Wilders who previously stated his fear of a 'tsunami of islamization in the Netherlands'.
Wilders: "Walk on the streets and you see where it's leading. You feel you don't live in your own country anymore. There's a struggle going on and we have to defend ourselves. There are in the future more mosques than churches!".

Hey Mom! What's for Dinner?
In the socialist paradise known as Venezuela... Chicken Feet.
CARACAS, Venezuela - Meat cuts vanished from Venezuelan supermarkets this week, leaving only unsavory bits like chicken feet, while costly artificial sweeteners have increasingly replaced sugar, and many staples sell far above government-fixed prices.
President Hugo Chavez's administration blames the food supply problems on unscrupulous speculators, but industry officials say government price controls that strangle profits are responsible.
Shortages have sporadically appeared with items from milk to coffee since early 2003, when Chavez began regulating prices for 400 basic products as a way to counter inflation and protect the poor.
Yet inflation has soared to an accumulated 78 percent in the last four years in an economy awash in petrodollars, and food prices have increased particularly swiftly, creating a widening discrepancy between official prices and the true cost of getting goods to market in Venezuela.
"Shortages have increased significantly as well as violations of price controls," Central Bank director Domingo Maza Zavala told the Venezuelan broadcaster Union Radio on Thursday. "The difference between real market prices and controlled prices is very high."
Gonzalo Asuaje, president of the meat processors association Afrigo, said that costs and demand have surged but in four years the government has barely raised the price of beef, which now stands at $1.82 per pound. Simply getting beef to retailers now costs $2.41 per pound without including any markup, he said.
Now why do I get the feeling that hugo ain't dining on chicken feet? He looks like he hasn't missed a meal in years:

"They say there are no shortages, but I'm not finding anything in the stores," grumbled Ana Diaz, a 70-year-old housewife who after eight hours, had managed to fill a bag with chicken, milk, vegetable oil and sugar bought at official prices. "There's a problem somewhere, and it needs to be fixed."
Yeah, the problem is... you voted for socialism Ana, and you got it! So, quit complaining and start looking for some chicken feet recipes.

I call that "Infringement"
If I lived in Cook County, Illinois, in four days, I would become a criminal:
Owners of such firearms or large capacity magazines have until February 12, 2007 to either remove the affected guns and remove any large capacity magazines from Cook County or surrender them to the police for destruction.
What firearms and magazines are affected by this county wide ban? Over 60 firearms are specifically listed as being illegal, including the deer rifle popular in many Midwest states, the SKS with a detachable magazine. Popular self defense weapons like the Mossberg 500 pump, and popular target shooting semiautomatic AR-15 are also illegal. In addition, all magazines that can hold more than 10 shells are banned.

Welcome to my world
Lunch time conversation:
co-worker: I think its time for a woman president and I hope we get one.
me: Maybe it is, but not that woman.
co-worker: why? what's wrong with her?
me: What's right with her? did you hear what she said earlier this week?
co-worker: about taking money from the oil companies? hell yeah I heard and its about time!
me: Really? So you think we should take money from corporations and give it to the people?
co-worker: Yeah, they make too much money and the people don't.
me: Really? and who do you think owns the corporations?
co-worker: filthy rich people who are destroying the earth with their greed.
me: No. Those companies are traded on the stock market. regular people own shares in those companies.
co-worker: No. rich people own those companies.
me: so you think its a crime to be rich?
co-worker: when other people are poor, yes.
me: so you're a communist?
co-worker: no
me: but that's what you just said
co-worker: no. I'm not a communist. I'm a socialist.
me: same thing.
co-worker: don't be an ass. its not the same thing.
me: no? then what's the difference?
co-worker: its not the same thing
me: so what's the difference?
co-worker: socialists are for the people
me: really? that's what the communists say
co-worker: its not the same thing.
me: so what's the difference?
co-worker: there are a lot of differences
me: so name one
co-worker: stop pushing me. you're not listening to me
me: I am listening to you, you're not saying anything. what's the difference?
co-worker: I'm not talking to you about this anymore
me: why? because you don't know the difference between communism and socialism?
co-worker: oh and you do. so you tell me.
me: I told you, there is no difference.
co-worker: fuck you.
me: well. that settles that.

How was your day?

Reminds me of the Ice Cream Fast
How the left supports our troops:
A US couple are staging a John and Yoko-style bed-in protest against the war in Iraq.
Ernie and Lynn Seewer of Mobile, Alabama, have moved their bed into their living room and want others to do the same.
During the bed-in, the Seewers still go to work and go about their daily lives as usual. But at night, they sleep in the living room.
Ernie said the process of moving the bed from one room to the other was "rough."
"You take it apart, and you move the couch around and the coffee table around," he said. "It was kind of a big project."
What a couple of asshats. It would be less trouble to send a care package overseas, and give a little comfort to our troops, rather than to the enemy.

Ronald Wilson Reagan 1911 ~ 2004
Ronald Reagan was the first President I voted for, he made me the Conservative that I am, and that I will always be. Mr. Reagan was a true leader who knew no boundries. There was nothing he would not do for America.
Today would have been Ronald Reagan's 96th birthday.
From the NYT:
To a nation hungry for a hero, a nation battered by Vietnam, damaged by Watergate and humiliated by the taking of hostages in Iran, Ronald Reagan held out the promise of a return to greatness, the promise that America would “stand tall” again.
Mr. Reagan lived longer than any United States president, spending his final years in seclusion as he coped with the mental debilitation of Alzheimer’s disease.

By Peggy Noonan
In his presidency he did this: He out-argued communism and refused to accept its claim of moral superiority; he rallied the West, rallied America and continued to make big gambles, including a defense-spending increase in a recession. He promised he'd place Pershings in Europe if the Soviets would not agree to arms reductions, and told Soviet leaders that they'd never be able to beat us in defense, that we'd spend them into the ground. They were suddenly reasonable. Ronald Reagan told the truth to a world made weary by lies. He believed truth was the only platform on which a better future could be built. He shocked the world when he called the Soviet Union "evil," because it was, and an "empire," because it was that, too. He never stopped bringing his message to the people of the world, to Europe and China and in the end the Soviet Union. And when it was over, the Berlin Wall had been turned into a million concrete souvenirs, and Soviet communism had fallen. But of course it didn't fall. It was pushed. By Mr. Know Nothing Cowboy Gunslinger Dimwit. All presidents should be so stupid.
He pushed down income taxes too, from a high of 70% when he entered the White House to a new low of 28% when he left, igniting the long boom that, for all its ups and downs, is with us still. He believed, as JFK did, that a rising tide lifts all boats. He did much more, returning respect to our armed forces, changing 50-year-old assumptions about the place of government and the place of the citizen in the new America.
What an era his was. What a life he lived. He changed history for the better and was modest about it. He didn't bray about his accomplishments but saw them as the work of the American people. He did not see himself as entitled, never demanded respect, preferred talking to hotel doormen rather than State Department functionaries because he thought the doormen brighter and more interesting. When I pressed him once, a few years out of the presidency, to say what he thought the meaning of his presidency was, he answered, reluctantly, that it might be fairly said that he "advanced the boundaries of freedom in a world more at peace with itself." And so he did. And what could be bigger than that?
"Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way." ~ Ronald W. Reagan
LIFE
I wonder what it's all about, and why
We suffer so, when little things go wrong?
We make our life a struggle,
When life should be a song.
Our troubles break and drench us,
Like spray on the cleaving prow
Of some trim Gloucester schooner
As it dips in a graceful bow.
Our troubles break and drench us
But like that cleaving prow,
The wind will fan and dry us.
And we'll watch some other bow.
But why does sorrow drench us
When our fellow passes on?
He's just exchanged life's dreary dirge
For an eternal life of song.
What is the inborn human trait
That frowns on a life of song?
That makes us weep at the journey's end,
When the journey was oft-times wrong?
Weep when we reach the door
That opens to let us in,
And brings to us eternal peace
As it closes again on sin.
Millions have gone before us,
And millions will come behind.
So why do we curse and fight
At a fate both wise and kind.
We hang onto a jaded life
A life full of sorrow and pain.
A life that warps and breaks us,
And we try to run through it again.
Ronald Reagan
February 6, 1911 ~ June 5, 2004
"Let me thank you, the American people, for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your president. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future." ~ Ronald Reagan, 1994

Yay! Rich people are gonna pay for our health care!
Democratic U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards on Sunday said that he would raise taxes, chiefly on the wealthy, to pay for expanded healthcare coverage under a plan costing $90 billion to $120 billion a year to be unveiled on Monday.
"We'll have to raise taxes. The only way you can pay for a healthcare plan that cost anywhere from $90 to $120 billion is there has to be a revenue source," Edwards said on NBC's Meet the Press news program.
The 2004 vice presidential nominee and former North Carolina senator said his plan would "get rid of George Bush's tax cuts for people who make over $200,000 a year."
But wait... there's more:
"We should have brokerage houses report the capital gains that people are incurring because we're losing billions and billions of dollars in tax revenue," Edwards said.
Some of us remember John, when you took "only" $360,000 of salary from your S corporation law practice, and took the remaining $26 million or so as S corporation distributions. S corporation distributions are not subject to the federal FICA and Medicare tax, so you scammed your way out of paying about $738,000 on the 2.9% medicare tax.
Tax professionals have named the single-member/S Corp tax avoidance scheme the "John Edwards Tax Shelter."
You're not just an asshole, you're a hypocrite too.

Hope Rides Alone
Sgt. Eddie Jeffers writes from Iraq:
In a year, I will be thrust back into society from a life and mentality that doesn't fit your average man. And then, I will be alone. And then, I will walk down the streets of America, and see the yellow ribbon stickers on the cars of the same people who compare our President to Hitler.
I will watch the television and watch the Cindy Sheehans, and the Al Frankens, and the rest of the ignorant sheep of America spout off their mouths about a subject they know nothing about. It is their right, however, and it is a right that is defended by hundreds of thousands of boys and girls scattered across the world, far from home. I use the word boys and girls, because that's what they are. In the Army, the average age of the infantryman is nineteen years old. The average rank of soldiers killed in action is Private First Class.
People like Cindy Sheehan are ignorant. Not just to this war, but to the results of their idiotic ramblings, or at least I hope they are. They don't realize its effects on this war. In this war, there are no Geneva Conventions, no cease fires. Medics and Chaplains are not spared from the enemy's brutality because it's against the rules. I can only imagine the horrors a military Chaplain would experience at the hands of the enemy. The enemy slinks in the shadows and fights a coward’s war against us. It is effective though, as many men and women have died since the start of this war. And the memory of their service to America is tainted by the inconsiderate remarks on our nation's news outlets. And every day, the enemy changes...only now, the enemy is becoming something new. The enemy is transitioning from the Muslim extremists to Americans. The enemy is becoming the very people whom we defend with our lives. And they do not realize it. But in denouncing our actions, denouncing our leaders, denouncing the war we live and fight, they are isolating the military from society...and they are becoming our enemy ...
The left's demoralizing of our troops is taking its toll, I spotted this at Post Secret just this past week:

But... more from Sgt. Jeffers:
Terrorists cut the heads off of American citizens on the internet...and there is no outrage, but an American soldier kills an Iraqi in the midst of battle, and there are investigations, and sometimes soldiers are even jailed...for doing their job.
It is absolutely sickening to me to think our country has come to this. Why are we so obsessed with the bad news? Why will people stop at nothing to be against this war, no matter how much evidence of the good we've done is thrown in their face? When is the last time CNN or MSNBC or CBS reported the opening of schools and hospitals in Iraq? Or the leaders of terror cells being detained or killed? It's all happening, but people will not let up their hatred of President Bush. They will ignore the good news, because it just might show people that Bush was right.
America has lost its will to fight. It has lost its will to defend what is right and just in the world. The crazy thing of it all is that the American people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing. It’s not like World War II, where people rationed food and turned in cars to be made into metal for tanks. The American people have not been asked to sacrifice anything. Unless you are in the military or the family member of a servicemember, its life as usual...the war doesn't affect you
Read the rest, and please, pass it around. This is a must read for every American.
Thank Rodg, for the tip!

Pinch me!
I must be dreaming...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 — Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, said Friday that his party would unite to block Senate debate next week on a bipartisan resolution opposing President Bush’s troop buildup in Iraq unless the Democrats allowed votes on at least two Republican alternatives.
Mr. McConnell said even Senator John W. Warner, the Virginia Republican who is the chief author of the bipartisan proposal, and other Republicans backing his plan had agreed to prevent the resolution from reaching the floor Monday if Democrats did not agree to that demand.
and this from Harry Reid:
Mr. Reid responded that the Republican leadership was essentially filibustering a debate of Iraq policy to avoid a judgment on Mr. Bush.
“This obstruction is an abdication of their responsibility to the American people on the most important issue facing our nation today,” Mr. Reid said in a statement.
You have a responsibility Harry to the American people not to waste our time and money on stupid non-binding resolutions for the sole purpose of political power and which will, in the end, demoralize our troops and embolden the enemy.

It's only one guy, but it may buy some time:
Iranian nuclear scientist ‘assassinated by Mossad’
A PRIZE-WINNING Iranian nuclear scientist has died in mysterious circumstances, according to Radio Farda, which is funded by the US State Department and broadcasts to Iran.
An intelligence source suggested that Ardeshire Hassanpour, 44, a nuclear physicist, had been assassinated by Mossad, the Israeli security service.
Hassanpour worked at a plant in Isfahan where uranium hexafluoride gas is produced. The gas is needed to enrich uranium in another plant at Natanz which has become the focus of concerns that Iran may be developing nuclear weapons.
and then again... it could be only another "blame the joos" story in preparation for an attack on Israel in celebration of the 28th anniversary of the islamic revolution.

On the campaign trail
Them joos are a tough audience:
February 2, 2007 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton drew grumbles at a pro-Israel dinner in Times Square last night when she encouraged "engaging" with Iran before taking stronger action to keep it nuke-free.
Clinton said she wasn't sure "anything positive would come out of it" and she didn't know if it was "the smartest strategy to take," but added, "There are a number of factors that I think argue for some attempt to do what I have suggested."
She called for a better understanding of how Iran "really functions," warning actions beyond sanctions could increase danger in the region.
"I also want to send a message, if we ever do have to take more drastic action, to the rest of the world that we exhausted all possibilities," said Clinton, who earlier rapped President Bush for refusing to engage Tehran.
Clinton's remarks at the Marriott Marquis were met with little applause, and after she left the stage, several people said they were put off by the presidential candidate.
"This is the wrong crowd to do that with," said one person at the dinner, noting the pro-Israel crowd wanted to hear tougher rhetoric.
Yup. It's hard to maintain an anti-war stance in front of people who recognize a clear and present danger. I think it will soon become obvious how much the media has distorted public opinion.
For those of you who have been wondering what it would take to finally turn American Jews away from the democrats, we may have our answer.

You don't have to be a liberal
to enjoy their toys...

Terrorism Finger Puppets, featuring Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong Il, Ahmadinejad and George W. Bush.
well we can buy a set of the little terrorist finger puppets and have Little George Bush kick the shit out of Little Osama over and over again untill we get bored then Little George can put Little Kim Jong Il in the microwave and we can make Ahmadinejad watch as Little Kim melts until his turn comes and we can put Little Ahmadinejad in a little teacup of slowly drying clay with just his little head sticking out and we can throw little pebbles at his little head until it pops off and which point Little George can go back and stab Little Osama over and over again with a tooth pick and nail him to the bulletin board in final martyrdom.
Now that sounds like fun!

Karachi, January 31: A group of Pakistani men has been accused of raping a teenaged girl and forcing her to parade naked through her village because one of her relatives eloped with a young women from the men's family, police said on Wednesday.
Such attacks, known as honour crimes because they are committed in response to a perceived slight on a family's honour, are common in Pakistan, especially in backward, rural communities.Police said the girl's father had filed a complaint on Saturday in Ubaro town, 530 km (330 miles) from the city of Karachi, saying a group of 11 men had kidnapped his daughter, raped her and forced her to parade naked.
The father told police the men were furious because the girl's cousin had eloped with and married a young woman from their family.
