Yadda Yadda
This just in from the Taliban:
Asked about Afghanistan, al-Libi claims "only crumbs" of the Western military machine that invaded the country more than five years ago remain and that mujahedeen are poised to "finish off the remnants of the enemy's force and completely crush him."
"We are today experiencing mountains of realistic, palpable hopes, while our enemy is experiencing mountains of weakness, fear and apprehension. As soon as the mujahideen appear, he flees from them," al-Libi says.
As the boat reached the shore, Captain Larry Staley tilted the nose of the lead Apache gunship downwards into a dive. One of the men turned to face the helicopter and sank to his knees. Capt Staley's gunner pressed the trigger and the man disappeared in a cloud of smoke and dust.
By the time the gunships had finished, 21 minutes later, military officials say 14 Taliban were confirmed dead, including one of their key commanders in Helmand.
On Monday, the Apaches struck again, killing 12 Taliban whom they had caught in the open near Qalat, in Zabul province.
Lt Denton and Capt Staley were in one of the two-man aircraft, escorting two Black Hawk helicopters, when they spotted eight motorcycles, with a rider and passenger on each. It seemed unusual and the Apache broke away to take a closer look.
Dropping to 200ft, it swooped close to the motorcyclists - and the two men could not believe their luck: some of the passengers were holding the parts of a long-barrelled heavy machine-gun.
Six of the bikes slewed to a stop, their passengers leaping off and aiming their weapons at the helicopter in what appeared to be a well-practised drill, while the others took off across country. The Apache banked away to begin its attack run.
"Some of them were trying to get the heavy machine-gun up a small hill to engage us," Lt Denton said. "Capt Staley used the 30mm gun to take out the two guys who had taken off, and then we fixed on the ones with the heavy machine-gun. They were huddled around a large boulder and we shot them. We put as many rounds around it as we could, because if they got to it they could cause us trouble. But they never had a chance to set it up."
Using its cannon and then its rockets, the Apache finished off all the Taliban fighters it could find, then launched nail-filled rockets and dropped white phosphorous to destroy the motorcycles and the machine guns. After the shooting stopped, 12 Taliban were confirmed dead.

The lil' Devil is three!
Today makes three years that my bratty blog brother has been gracing the internet with his opinions on Vince Aut Morire.

cute lil' devil, isn't he?
He's way more than just a "name" on the internet for me, and more than just a blog brother. I got to meet Vinnie, and his lovely wife Merri (who is a fellow Cotillion-babe) last year, and I also got to meet their abolutely adorable offspring (they take after Merri). They are now part of my family.
Head on over... wish him a happy blogiversary!

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!
GUWEI'IYYA, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) - The legs are long, the eyes are big, the bodies curvaceous.
Contestants in this Saudi-style beauty pageant have all the features you might expect anywhere else in the world, but with one crucial difference -- the competitors are camels.
This week, the Qahtani tribe of western Saudi Arabia has been welcoming entrants to its Mazayen al-Ibl competition, a parade of the "most beautiful camels" in the desolate desert region of Guwei'iyya, 120 km (75 miles) west of Riyadh.
"In Lebanon they have Miss Lebanon," jokes Walid, moderator of the competition's Web site. "Here we have Miss Camel."
Camel-drivers sing songs of praise to their prized possessions as they try to calm the animals down.
"Beautiful, beautiful!" the judge mutters quietly to himself, inspecting the group. Finalists have been decorated with silver bands and body covers.
"The nose should be long and droop down, that's more beautiful," explains Sultan al-Qahtani, one of the organisers. "The ears should stand back, and the neck should be long. The hump should be high, but slightly to the back."

Prepare your kids for potential violence
Here's a heap of horseshit from Daniel Vasquez titled "Prepare your kids for potential violence."
According to Vasquez, the number one thing to teach your children: Run away. Hide. Don't look at the killer, don't taunt the killer. Call your mommy.
I'm surprised he left out "beg for your life."
Not a single word about self-defense. Not a single word about arming yourself. Just run, hide, and pray that the killer kills someone else, anyone else, even everyone else, just not you.
And why not, the same message comes from the House and the Senate, with the passing of the Surrender Bill.
Meanwhile, gun sales are up because we're Americans dammit, and we don't like being victims. Its no wonder that circulation is down yet again for mainstream newspapers such as the one that published this article.
So. Meet my new best friend:

Its the Kimber Ultra Carry. Gun Week gave it an excellent review.

Shabbat Shalom
Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the first manifestation of the approach of our redemption. Shield it with Your loving kindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory.
Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness. Lead them, swiftly and upright, to Your city Zion and to Jerusalem, the abode of Your Name, as is written in the Torah of Your servant Moses: “Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the Lord your God will gather you, from there He will fetch you. And the Lord your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers.”
Draw our hearts together to revere and venerate Your name and to observe all the precepts of Your Torah, and send us quickly the Messiah son of David, agent of Your vindication, to redeem those who await Your deliverance.
Manifest yourself in the splendor of Your boldness before the eyes of all inhabitants of Your world, and may everyone endowed with a soul affirm that the Lord, God of Israel, is king and his dominion is absolute.
Amen

Meet Travis VanKuren
Seventeen-year-old Travis VanKuren was walking to his car at the Wal-Mart in Springettsbury Township at 7 p.m. last Wednesday when he saw a man and a woman struggling in the parking lot.
VanKuren, a slim, 5-foot, 9-inch junior at Dallastown Area High School, took a closer look and made eye contact with the woman involved in the fight.
"She looked over at me and started screaming for help," VanKuren said. The woman also screamed "help" at two other people in the parking lot who looked at her and walked away.
VanKuren didn't.
Instead, he decided to help, and police say what the 17-year-old did next saved a 42-year-old Manchester Township woman from a man who was impersonating a police officer and intended to kidnap and rape her.
With an almost bashful smile, VanKuren said his reaction to the cry for help is "something I'm proud of."
But the teen didn't think what he did was too heroic.
Heck yeah it was heroic!
Holt, police said, admitted his plans to kidnap and rape the woman, and he was charged with attempted rape, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, attempted kidnapping, impersonating a public servant and several other charges. Last July Holt was convicted of attempted rape in Lancaster County.
I suppose Travis could have assessed the situation, determined that repeat offender Holt was winning, and then redeployed out of there, but, fortunately for the victim, Travis is a Junior Marine, ROTC.
Semper Fi!

Fight for Me
"Fight For Me"
You stand to fight and we agree
Until we see your brothers bleed
You give your life to hold the line
And then we change our minds
Afraid to say that you'd
Come home this way
I stand to give you my applause
How could you fight for a better cause
Opposed by those that you set free
Still you fight for me
We hold our signs of war and peace
They seem to change so easily
While passing judgment from our homes
In foreign lands you roam
Afraid to say what you'd
You'd die to save
Chorus:
I stand to give you my applause
How could you fight for a better cause
Opposed by those that you set free
Still you fight for me
To all the soldiers don't you know
You'll always be the world's hero
As long as we have enemies
Still you fight for me

On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs
By LTC (RET) Dave Grossman, author of "On Killing."
Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost. In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself. The question remains: What is worth defending? What is worth dying for? What is worth living for? - William J. Bennett - in a lecture to the United States Naval Academy November 24, 1997
One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me:
"Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident." This is true. Remember, the murder rate is six per 100,000 per year, and the aggravated assault rate is four per 1,000 per year. What this means is that the vast majority of Americans are not inclined to hurt one another. Some estimates say that two million Americans are victims of violent crimes every year, a tragic, staggering number, perhaps an all-time record rate of violent crime. But there are almost 300 million Americans, which means that the odds of being a victim of violent crime is considerably less than one in a hundred on any given year. Furthermore, since many violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders, the actual number of violent citizens is considerably less than two million.
Thus there is a paradox, and we must grasp both ends of the situation: We may well be in the most violent times in history, but violence is still remarkably rare. This is because most citizens are kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are sheep.
I mean nothing negative by calling them sheep. To me it is like the pretty, blue robin's egg. Inside it is soft and gooey but someday it will grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without its hard blue shell. Police officers, soldiers, and other warriors are like that shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful. For now, though, they need warriors to protect them from the predators.
"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.
"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."
If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero's path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed
Let me expand on this old soldier's excellent model of the sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. We know that the sheep live in denial, that is what makes them sheep. They do not want to believe that there is evil in the world. They can accept the fact that fires can happen, which is why they want fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, fire alarms and fire exits throughout their kids' schools.
But many of them are outraged at the idea of putting an armed police officer in their kid's school. Our children are thousands of times more likely to be killed or seriously injured by school violence than fire, but the sheep's only response to the possibility of violence is denial. The idea of someone coming to kill or harm their child is just too hard, and so they chose the path of denial.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours.
Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn't tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in camouflage fatigues holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, "Baa."
Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog.
The students, the victims, at Columbine High School were big, tough high school students, and under ordinary circumstances they would not have had the time of day for a police officer. They were not bad kids; they just had nothing to say to a cop. When the school was under attack, however, and SWAT teams were clearing the rooms and hallways, the officers had to physically peel those clinging, sobbing kids off of them. This is how the little lambs feel about their sheepdog when the wolf is at the door.
Look at what happened after September 11, 2001 when the wolf pounded hard on the door. Remember how America, more than ever before, felt differently about their law enforcement officers and military personnel? Remember how many times you heard the word hero?
Understand that there is nothing morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. Also understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter: He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle. That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed right along with the young ones.
Here is how the sheep and the sheepdog think differently. The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, most of the sheep, that is, most citizens in America said, "Thank God I wasn't on one of those planes." The sheepdogs, the warriors, said, "Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference." When you are truly transformed into a warrior and have truly invested yourself into warriorhood, you want to be there. You want to be able to make a difference.
There is nothing morally superior about the sheepdog, the warrior, but he does have one real advantage. Only one. And that is that he is able to survive and thrive in an environment that destroys 98 percent of the population. There was research conducted a few years ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims like big cats do in Africa, when they select one out of the herd that is least able to protect itself.
Some people may be destined to be sheep and others might be genetically primed to be wolves or sheepdogs. But I believe that most people can choose which one they want to be, and I'm proud to say that more and more Americans are choosing to become sheepdogs.
Seven months after the attack on September 11, 2001, Todd Beamer was honored in his hometown of Cranbury, New Jersey. Todd, as you recall, was the man on Flight 93 over Pennsylvania who called on his cell phone to alert an operator from United Airlines about the hijacking. When he learned of the other three passenger planes that had been used as weapons, Todd dropped his phone and uttered the words, "Let's roll," which authorities believe was a signal to the other passengers to confront the terrorist hijackers. In one hour, a transformation occurred among the passengers - athletes, business people and parents. -- from sheep to sheepdogs and together they fought the wolves, ultimately saving an unknown number of lives on the ground.
There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men. - Edmund Burke
Here is the point I like to emphasize, especially to the thousands of police officers and soldiers I speak to each year. In nature the sheep, real sheep, are born as sheep. Sheepdogs are born that way, and so are wolves. They didn't have a choice. But you are not a critter. As a human being, you can be whatever you want to be. It is a conscious, moral decision.
If you want to be a sheep, then you can be a sheep and that is okay, but you must understand the price you pay. When the wolf comes, you and your loved ones are going to die if there is not a sheepdog there to protect you. If you want to be a wolf, you can be one, but the sheepdogs are going to hunt you down and you will never have rest, safety, trust or love. But if you want to be a sheepdog and walk the warrior's path, then you must make a conscious and moral decision every day to dedicate, equip and prepare yourself to thrive in that toxic, corrosive moment when the wolf comes knocking at the door.
For example, many officers carry their weapons in church. They are well concealed in ankle holsters, shoulder holsters or inside-the-belt holsters tucked into the small of their backs. Anytime you go to some form of religious service, there is a very good chance that a police officer in your congregation is carrying. You will never know if there is such an individual in your place of worship, until the wolf appears to massacre you and your loved ones.
I was training a group of police officers in Texas, and during the break, one officer asked his friend if he carried his weapon in church. The other cop replied, "I will never be caught without my gun in church." I asked why he felt so strongly about this, and he told me about a cop he knew who was at a church massacre in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1999. In that incident, a mentally deranged individual came into the church and opened fire, gunning down fourteen people. He said that officer believed he could have saved every life that day if he had been carrying his gun. His own son was shot, and all he could do was throw himself on the boy's body and wait to die. That cop looked me in the eye and said, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself after that?"
Some individuals would be horrified if they knew this police officer was carrying a weapon in church. They might call him paranoid and would probably scorn him. Yet these same individuals would be enraged and would call for "heads to roll" if they found out that the airbags in their cars were defective, or that the fire extinguisher and fire sprinklers in their kids' school did not work. They can accept the fact that fires and traffic accidents can happen and that there must be safeguards against them.
Their only response to the wolf, though, is denial, and all too often their response to the sheepdog is scorn and disdain. But the sheepdog quietly asks himself, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself if your loved ones attacked and killed, and you had to stand there helplessly because you were unprepared for that day?"
It is denial that turns people into sheep. Sheep are psychologically destroyed by combat because their only defense is denial, which is counterproductive and destructive, resulting in fear, helplessness and horror when the wolf shows up.
Denial kills you twice. It kills you once, at your moment of truth when you are not physically prepared: you didn't bring your gun, you didn't train. Your only defense was wishful thinking. Hope is not a strategy. Denial kills you a second time because even if you do physically survive, you are psychologically shattered by your fear helplessness and horror at your moment of truth.
Gavin de Becker puts it like this in Fear Less, his superb post-9/11 book, which should be required reading for anyone trying to come to terms with our current world situation: "...denial can be seductive, but it has an insidious side effect. For all the peace of mind deniers think they get by saying it isn't so, the fall they take when faced with new violence is all the more unsettling."
Denial is a save-now-pay-later scheme, a contract written entirely in small print, for in the long run, the denying person knows the truth on some level.
And so the warrior must strive to confront denial in all aspects of his life, and prepare himself for the day when evil comes. If you are warrior who is legally authorized to carry a weapon and you step outside without that weapon, then you become a sheep, pretending that the bad man will not come today. No one can be "on" 24/7, for a lifetime. Everyone needs down time. But if you are authorized to carry a weapon, and you walk outside without it, just take a deep breath, and say this to yourself...
"Baa."
This business of being a sheep or a sheep dog is not a yes-no dichotomy. It is not an all-or-nothing, either-or choice. It is a matter of degrees, a continuum. On one end is an abject, head-in-the-sand-sheep and on the other end is the ultimate warrior. Few people exist completely on one end or the other. Most of us live somewhere in between. Since 9-11 almost everyone in America took a step up that continuum, away from denial. The sheep took a few steps toward accepting and appreciating their warriors, and the warriors started taking their job more seriously. The degree to which you move up that continuum, away from sheephood and denial, is the degree to which you and your loved ones will survive, physically and psychologically at your moment of truth.

Famous Last Words
Palm Beach County deputies and police officers involved in May's shooting death of 21-year-old who took them on a 19-mile car chase and shot at them have been cleared in the killing, according to a memo released on Monday.
Antonio Isaias died in a hail of more than 280 bullets fired at him by 18 officers after a 33-minute pursuit on city streets and Interstate 95 from west of West Palm Beach to Delray Beach.
Isaias called his mother, Evangelina Magdaleno, on his cell phone and told her: "The cops are behind me; I don't want to go to prison; I will either kill myself or the cops are going to have to kill me."
Eighteen deputies fired more than 280 bullets at Antonio Isaias and his SUV in Delray Beach last May after he got in a fight and led police on a 33-minute chase, firing repeatedly at them as he sped away.
They hit Antonio Isaias of Boynton Beach 31 times, with 18 bullets lodging in his body, State Attorney Barry Krischer wrote in a report. Isaias -- a high school dropout with a steady job and a temper that often got him in trouble with police -- died from two fatal wounds.
His mother, Evangelina Magdaleno, claimed that prior to his suicide, Antonio had began working on controlling his temper. Too little, too late, end result? One dead dumbass. Thank goodness he didn't take anyone with him.

A Burrito?
A doctor in Florida is facing charges, after being accused of groping a woman while wearing a Captain America uniform with a burrito stuffed down his tights.
The incident, hardly fitting behaviour for a superhero, happened after 54-year-old Dr. Raymond Adamcik went on a bar-crawl with a number of other costume-wearing medics.
Witnesses said that Adamcik was walking around with the burrito tucked into the waistband of his costume, asking women if they wanted to touch it.
When one woman refused to touch the burrito, it is alleged that the doctor removed the snack and groped her.
The police were called, and, according to the official report, 'there were so many cartoon characters in the bar at the time, all Captain America's [sic] were asked to go outside for a possible identification.'
Adamcik was identified as the lecherous superhero in question, and taken to the police station in Melbourne, Florida – where, to increase his troubles, he was caught trying to flush a joint that he'd also stashed down his tights.
He now faces charges of battery, drug possession, trying to destroy evidence and disorderly conduct, and has been released on bail.

Choices, Choices
I guess it beats writing in Mickey Mouse:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Maybe a congressional race was so nasty that a large number of voters simply didn't want to check the box next to either candidate.
That's what state Sen. Mike Bennett said he believes happened in the now-infamous District 13 congressional race.
Hoping to prevent a repeat, he persuaded the Senate Ethics and Elections committee to approve a bill, SB-494, on Monday that would require ballots to have the additional option of "I choose not to vote."
That option could not win a race, and the actual candidate with the highest number of votes would win the election.
Bennett, R-Bradenton, said the no-choice option would enable uninformed or disgusted voters to opt out in a way that clearly displays their intention to abstain for elections officials.
and the survey said...

Terrorism
In order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands, terrorism is used to kill or maim as many innocent people as possible. To acheive this goal, terrorists construct their bombs using schrapnal, nails, nuts, bolts, anything and everything sharp... and deadly. They target areas such as shopping malls, restaurants, public transportation, anywhere where innocent civilians can be found.

Inside Terrorism brings you a view from the inside the victims.

If you support palestinian "freedom fighters," this is what you support. If you support the "resistence" in Iraq, this is what you support.
And, make no mistake, this is the contribution of the moslem world to civilization.

Thank G-d for Hollywood
This week's entertainment comes from Sheryl Crow:
"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required. When presenting this idea to my younger brother, who’s judgment I trust implicitly, he proposed taking it one step further. I believe his quote was, “how bout just washing the one square out.”
Boy, toilet paper is damn important to them liberals. Did you know that in 1996, President Clinton passed a law on toilet paper? Yep, he sure did, in fact, he taxed each roll 6 cents and increased the price of the product to 30 cents per roll.
Sheryl Crow might not be aware, but we are already being forced to cut back on toilet paper. According to Toilet Paper World, the standard size of a sheet of toilet paper is 4.5" x 4.5". However, in the last 10 years manufacturers have come out with "cheater sheets". These can run as small as 4" x 3.8"! This means about 15% less paper.
Of course, Sheryl could go back to basics and what was used before "toilet paper" was "invented:"
* Newsprint, paper catalogue pages in early US
* Discarded sheep's wool in the Viking Age, England
* Frayed end of an old anchor cable was used by sailing crews from Spain and Portugal
* Corn cobs, Sears Roebuck catalog, mussel shell, newspaper, leaves, sand were used in the US
* Coconut shells in early Hawaii
* Hemp & wool were used by the elite citizens of the world
* Defecating in the river was very common internationally
* Snow and Tundra Moss were used by early Eskimos
Here's a thought... maybe she can just buy a carbon offset from an anorexic.

What's the difference?
Last week, someone put the following comment on my site, in response to my outrage at Harry Reid's statement that the war is lost:
We spending over $100 Billion and 800 soldiers a year to keep those Iraqi bastards from killing each other? Fuck that. Save the money and let the car bombs roll in Baghdad. Fuck Iraq. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is where Osama bin Laden and his fucking Taliban are hiding.
"Let the car bombs roll." What exactly does that mean?
On Saturday, April 14, 2007 a terrorist exploded in Kerbala. He killed and/or wounded more than 250 civilians. Most of the victims were shoppers and street salesmen. Among them were children on a school trip. Some of the victims burned to death.
This is what it looked like when that car bomb rolled:

What is this war about? Its not about Osama bin Laden, its about the ideology behind Osama bin Laden, the war is about the ideology behind the brutal and senseless murder of the child you see in the picture above, a child who should be laughing and playing and learning and living, a child who instead, perished in flames and agony, a victim of terror.
If we lose this war, it means the people responsible for the death of that child have won, and it means that they have won because they killed that child. And it means they are free to continue kill, to continue their reign of terror.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, claimed "The three most important congressional issues of today are “our children, our children, our children: their health, their education, their economic security, their families, the environment in which they live, and safe neighborhoods.”
Obviously, Nancy wasn't talking about the child in the picture, or the other children who died in this terror attack and in other terror attacks, because Nancy, and the rest of the democrats, have decided to "let the car bombs roll." They have decided to reward the terrorists who killed that child by turning over to them Iraq and its people. The democrats have decided to support and encourage the terrorists who killed that child, instead of supporting our troops and their mission to put an end to terror.
I'm sickened by the hypocrisy of people who would claim that they are "all for the children" while they have decided not only to allow the death of that child, but are trying to convince us that to abandon Iraq to the terrorists responsible for that death, and countless others, is somehow the right thing to do. How do these democrats rationalize their support of the "resistence" that is responsible for the death of that child?
How can anyone look at the end result of evil and decide to allow it continue? Because its there and not here? Is evil less evil because it happened over there and not over here?
It has been asked before:
If you care so much for children, why do you try to prevent our troops from stopping the activity of terrorists who intentionally murder children as well as other innocent civilians?
What does "peace" mean to you? Does it mean trying your best to make sure that terrorists can operate freely?
"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil,
but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
- Albert EinsteinAnd perhaps also because of the people who don't do evil but who make it easier for others to do it.
Or is there really any difference?
I'll answer that question now. There is no difference.

Mmmm... Beer - Part II
Knowing how I feel about beer, one of my most very favorite soldiers sent me a link... 32 Things You Can Do With Beer. Once you get past the cooking references, there were some interesting suggestions. My favorites:
4. POLISH POTS
In days of yore, the last bit of beer from spent kegs was collected and used to polish the copper vats in breweries. Greg Smith, general manager of the Idaho Brewing Company, is keeping the tradition alive by using beer to put a shine on the copper-top tables in his Idaho Falls establishment. "Because of its acidity," he explains, "you can just pour some on, let it sit for a while, then wipe it off. It also works well on Revere Ware pots."
7. LOOSEN RUSTY BOLTS
Pour some beer on them and wait a few minutes. The carbonation may help break up the rust.
8. CLEAR UP BROWN SPOTS IN YOUR LAWN
According to Andrew Lopez, a professional gardener, the fermented sugars in beer stimulate plant growth and kill fungi. He recommends spraying either home brew or Rolling Rock (both are chemical-free) on those annoying brown spots in your lawn. (Either that, or just stop peeing there.) "The grass will absorb the sugar in the beer and draw energy from it," Lopez explains.
21. CURE INSOMNIA
Greg Smith, author of The Beer Drinker's Bible, says women often show up at his brewery asking to buy not his beer but the hops he uses to brew it. "They sew it into pillows," he explains. "The smell of it is supposed to be a sleep aid, especially for colicky babies. I've never tried it, but we get enough requests that there must be something to it." Hops is a type of flower, though, so be careful if you have allergies.
----------------
Thank you Sarge, yannow, I just might have to try that insomnia thingie...
and... because I love ya, ya just might find a few of these goodies in your next care package.

No way Harry!
When I saw this on Drudge, it left me inarticulate with anger and I couldn't put three words together without two of them being fuck.

and then I saw this on Rodger's site:
''Okay, I'll admit it. Sometime Monday evening I caught myself wishing that Cho Seung-Hui had been a Senate page when the screw holding his lunatic brain fell completely out. Far fewer people would be grieving today. I didn't say it because ... I had control. That's gone as of 10 minutes ago when I saw this Drudge Banner."
Not only did I laugh, but I felt just better, because its good to know that I'm not alone in my thinking.
Still, I am just so damn angry at Harry Reid and the rest of the idiots that make up this Congress, and I'm so damn angry at every single person who went out and pushed the button for these people last November, and I'm so damn angry at every single person who stayed home last November and saddled us with these crazy bastards.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again:
The Democrats, the war protestors, and the American media have chosen to give their support to terrorism against the United States of America. In doing so, they have chosen to embrace a monster the likes of which they are unable to comprehend.
They have no idea what the consequences of their actions will be in the future, for the situation in Iraq is nothing but a small part of the islamic agenda to cleanse all lands of all kufirs, infidels and jews, and to rule those lands according to islamic law. To embolden them, to encourage their acts, and to leave them to a reign of terror is to guarantee that jihad is coming to America.
If the islamic agenda is successful, the future might not be to their liking. Today, they are free to support terrorism, spread lies and sow dissention only because there are those today who fight the good fight to defend them. Because of the efforts of the brave men and women who serve in the United States Military, perhaps the islamic agenda will not be successful in this lifetime. They may sleep well and warm in their beds tonight, and enjoy a lifetime of indolence and indifference.
They do not consider the legacy they will leave behind for their children and their children's children.
If the islamic agenda is successful, it will be because of the actions of the democrats, the war protestors and the media. In the end, they will sentence America to suffer under the very same monster they embrace today.
If their actions today bear fruit tomorrow, it is future Americans who will suffer under islamic law. As they suffer, surely they will curse the names and the memory of those who turned their face from the truth and embraced the lie. Indeed, if their actions bear fruit tomorrow, future Americans will surely curse the memory of all those who choose to bow their head and look the other way, those who today support terrorism and nurture the beast.
I curse them now, and I vow to fight them, every step of the way, and I vow to continue to support our troops and their mission for as long as it takes to put an end to this evil, for as long as it takes to finish the job, to win.
And, despite the best efforts of Harry Reid and his ilk, I have no doubt that we will win, this is the United States of America, and it is the greatest country in the world, with the greatest Military in the world. We will not be beaten by a bunch of backwards, demented, psychotic assholes with bad teeth who are stuck in the 7th century and want to drag us down with them.
USA! USA!! USA!!!
and... Fuck you Harry Reid.

Florida Fear Mongering
This is the top story on the front page of the Florida Sun Sentinel today...

What a fine piece of propaganda that is, complete with the scary picture, mention of "murderous rage" and the quote that it could happen here.
The article itself quotes the spokesman for the Brady Campaign who complains that Florida has no restrictions on the number of weapons that can be bought at one time while Virginia permits only one gun to be purchased within a 30-day period. His group gives Florida an F-plus on its gun-control report card, compared to a C-minus for Virginia.
Except... the tougher gun law in Virginia didn't prevent Cho's massacre now, did it? Virginia's waiting period didn't save anyone's life. Viriginia's limits on how many guns you could buy didn't save anyone's life either. That situation needed more guns, in the hands of law abiding citizens who might have shot the bastard dead before he could kill anyone else. Virginia's gun laws, and the school's status as a gun free zone, protected Cho, not his victims.
"If there had been armed people on campus, when he walked into the first classroom, maybe four or five people would have shot him and it would be over," Nick Lipschultz, owner of P.A.R. Firearms & Supplies in West Palm Beach, said.
Lipschultz, who said he sells hundreds of guns each year to law-abiding people, said criminals will gain access to firearms no matter how many gun control laws are imposed.
"I've never seen a bad guy in my store," he said. "Criminals buy guns on the streets.
In other news, yesterday, the Florida House shot down a bill that would have forced businesses to allow employees to keep guns locked in their cars in company parking lots.

The 2007 Pulitzer Prize Winner

Awarded to Oded Balilty of The Associated Press for his powerful
photograph of a lone Jewish woman defying Israeli security forces
as they remove illegal settlers in the West Bank.
Israeli photographer Oded Balilty's photo of the violent clashes in Amona between police and settlers, which earned him the Pulitzer Prize for for breaking news photography this year, is "a disgrace to Israel" says Nili, the high school girl pictured in the shot.
In a conversation with Ynet, Nili, a 16-year-old from Jerusalem who studies at an all-girls religious high school, had nothing but criticism for the acclaimed photograph.
"The picture is simply an embarrassment to the nation of Israel. Instead of defending the people and land of Israel, security forces destroy Jewish homes. A picture like this one is a mark of disgrace for the state of Israel and is nothing to be proud of. The picture looks like it represents a work of art, but that isn't what went on there. What happened in Amona was totally different."
Nili says that after the photo was taken, police beat her and she absorbed numerous blows. "People who see the picture ask me: What were you thinking? What were you doing, one girl against a wave of policemen in black? Why didn't you run away?
"The answer is that we came to fight. We didn't come to give in or run away. We felt and thought that all this injustice and evil must run into the wall of our determination. You have to understand that there is a whole generation of youth that grew up in Israel, that believe in Israel and in the Torah and want and insist on leading the people of Israel in a different direction. And we're willing to fight for it."
Nili's mother, Devorah, described what happened after the snapshot was taken. "What happened afterwards was completely different, and there are pictures documenting that too. The police pulled Nili by the hair and beat her with clubs. It was simply horrifying.
"You see that the photo presents a problematic situation. It shows a civil war, with the government going against the people. The people of Israel are for the land of Israel, and only the prime minister and the Knesset go against it," she said.
The picture was taken during violent clashes that erupted when police evacuated illegal homes in the West Bank settlement of Amona, west of Ramallah, in February 2006. Security forces were operating in conjunction with a court ruling which authorized the razing of nine houses on the settlement.
Some 200 people were wounded when hundreds of settlers and their supporters forcefully resisted the evacuation.
The Associated Press photographer Balilty said that he and a number of other photographers were covering the events, and at a certain point they decided to split up to capture different views.
"The violence and cruelty at Amona didn't break us, but strengthened us," said Nili, who says she would willingly stand up to the police and the army again. "Policemen in black don't scare us. They can break our skulls but they can't break our spirits. What I did in Amona – I'm willing to do again and again if need be. I've been in Hebron and I told the Jewish families living in the 'Shalom House' that if forces come to expel them – I'll be there. And I believe that likewise the thousands of youths that were in Amona.
"You see me in the photograph, one against many, but that is only an illusion – behind the many stands one man - Olmert, but behind me stand the Lord and the people of Israel."

Ernie Pyle - War Correspondent
On this day in 1945, famed American war correspondent Ernie Pyle was killed by Japanese gunfire on the Pacific island of Ie Shima, off Okinawa. He was forty-four years old.
Ernie's columns, done in foxholes, brought home all the hurt, horror, loneliness and homesickness that every soldier felt. They were the perfect supplement to the soldiers' own letters.
Though he wrote of his own feelings and his own emotions as he watched men wounded, and saw the wounded die, he was merely interpreting the scene for the soldier.
Ernie never made war look glamorous. He hated it and feared it. Blown out of press headquarters at Anzio, almost killed by our own planes at St. Lo, he told of the death, the heartache and the agony about him and always he named names of the kids around him, and got in their home town addresses.
Ernie journeyed to Iwo on a small carrier and wrote about the carrier crew. Then he moved on to Okinawa and went in with the Marines. He had post-war plans. He thought he would take to the white clean roads again and write beside still ponds in the wilderness, on blue mountains, in country lanes, in a world returned to peace and quiet. And these were the dreams of the soldiers in the foxhole as much as they were his own.

Snap out of it!!
Someone makes something up and someone else believes it:
"Ismail Ax" is a well known phrase in the Muslim world. The Muslims believe that the [Old Testament] is wrong in saying that Abraham was supposed to kill Isaac with a knife, rather they believe he was supposed to kill Ishmael (Ismail) with an Axe. They also believe that Abraham was supposed to go out and attack idols with an axe, and some also attribute the phrase to meaning that Ishmael was supposed to kill Isaac, the father of all Western culture, with an axe.
Cho was a South Korean immigrant to the US, but it seems undeniable that his killing spree, at least in part, was motivated by some sort of belief in Islam.
Now that's a great steaming pile of happy horseshit, and if that's not bad enough, late last nite I got an email that said "'Emily Hilscher' is an anagram of 'Ceyl Her Ishmil'. Kill her Ismail?"
Forcryinoutloud! Come on people. Get a grip.

In Memory of Daniel Pearl?
This past Sunday, on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Rememberance Day, a new name was added to the 30,000 names on the Memorial Wall at the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach, Florida. Slain journalist Daniel Pearl's name was etched on the Memorial Wall of Victims of the Holocaust.
The picture to the left is from the Wall on the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial. It clearly states the purpose of the Memorial, and what its founders, and creators conceived of in building it. It states the intent of the people who donated money to have it built.
Daniel Pearl did not perish at the hands of the Nazis. Daniel Pearl was killed in 2002, a victim of islam, he was not a victim of Nazi Germany. The Holocaust ended 60 years ago, long before Daniel Pearl was born. Daniel Pearl is not a victim of the Holocaust and including his name on a Memorial dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust is an insult to their memory.
Thousands of Jews have been murdered in modern times, post-Holocaust, by islam. Daniel Pearl is not the first one, nor is he the only one. Putting his name on the Holocaust Memorial is also an insult to all Jews who have been murdered by islam. Why single out Daniel Pearl, over all the rest?
Yes, Daniel Pearl was a victim and he was a Jew, but, he was not killed because he was a Jew, his murderers kidnapped him because he was American, and he was handy, in the right place at the right time. They didn't know he was a Jew when they picked him up and he was not killed only because he was a Jew, that was just viewed as an extra bonus by his murderers.
Daniel Pearl was a victim of islam, and if the world is ready to acknowledge what his death means, and what the meaning is behind the thousands of innocents murdered in the name of islam, then its time to build a memorial to them, one which could, and should, include the names of all people murdered by the hand of islam.
I cannot imagine that Daniel Pearl's name would be included on a Memorial to those who died on September 11, 2001, but putting his name on a memorial for the victims of 9/11 would surely be more appropriate than putting his name on a memorial for the victims of the Holocaust.
And why the Miami Memorial? Daniel Pearl did not live here, and he had no connection to South Florida.
I wrote the Memorial's Committee to ask, and you can too (info@holocaustmmb.org), but they haven't bothered to answer me, and they probably won't answer you. They refuse to explain to me why they have betrayed the trust placed in them to maintain the Memorial and its purpose, to honor the memory of those who perished by the hands of Nazi Germany. I suppose they can't find a way to rationalize and justify their betrayal.
The end result, well, I have always been a strong supporter of the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial, in thought, and deed, and financially as well. As I now consider the Memorial to be tainted with politics and money, I will now withdraw all my support until this wrong is made right, which likely means forever.

An Unexpected Honor
Nominations for the 2007 Jewish & Israeli Blog Awards opened last week.
In three years of JIB Awards, the best part for me has always been that I found a lot of new blogs to read, and that's true again this year. The J-Blogosphere has some very talented, perceptive and funny writers.
But, this year, I also have an interest in the outcome.
This year, for the first time, I have been nominated for a JIB Award, and not just once, but several times, in several categories, including Best Overall, Best Mega Blog (although I'm not sure I qualify for that) and Best Right Wing Political Blog (I know I qualify for that).
Two of my posts were nominated for Best Post, and one was nominated for Best Right Wing Post.
I am... overwhelmed to say the least. To be nominated is an honor, and to my loyal readers who nominated me, thank you so very much!
I'm happy to have a button to show for my efforts here, and its going into my sidebar, where it will stay forever!
Although... I do hope that when voting opens on April 22, 2007, you'll run along and vote for me, once to get me into the finals, and once again to help me win, because after all, the only thing better than being nominated is winning!
And even if you don't vote... visit the JIB Awards website to view some very excellent sites. You won't be sorry.

Teach your children well
Lessons from Australia:
A PRO-TERROR hate film that urges children to martyr themselves in Islam's war on the West and calls Jews "pigs" has been rated PG by Australia's censors.
Sheik Feiz Mohammed's DVD box set, which also calls for the murder of non-believers, was initially seized by Federal anti-terror police.
But the Office of Film and Literature Classification has ruled that The Death Series is suitable to be bought and watched by children.
And just what will these children be watching? What will these children be learning?
The films urge parents to make their children holy warriors and martyrs, and praises jihad as the pinnacle of Islam.
The radical sheik makes snorting noises on the films as he vilifies Jews as the "army of pigs."
He blames a lack of courage for martyrdom on the battlefield for the "humiliation" of Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Guantanamo.
He says of non-Muslims, "Kaffir is the worst word ever written, a sign of infidelity, disbelief, filth, a sign of dirt."
Feiz says that children should be encouraged to become jihadists: "We want to have children and offer them as soldiers defending Islam... Teach them this: there is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a mujahid. Put in their soft, tender hearts the zeal of jihad and a love of martyrdom."
and he said, "Jews are pigs that will be killed at the end of the world."
and he also said concerning Jews, "They have got the most extreme racial pride in them. They say that every single non-Jew is a slave created to serve the Jews ... Their time will come like every other evil person's time will come."
The censors' finding means children of any age can watch the films - but it is advised under-15s have a parent present.
And it found that comments vilifying Jews as an "army of pigs" and saying "behind me is a Jew, come kill him" were mitigated by the context.
The sheikh says "Put in their soft, tender heart the zeal of jihad and the love of martyrdom" and Australia is listening.
and the descent into madness continues.

UPDATE: Via email... Darleen provides the answer, its a spoof.
Apparently, it comes via a New York City-based sketch comedy troupe, The Dregs, and was posted to YouTube by director “MittyMoo,” whose other videos feature campy drag queens. Sandy Belle, meanwhile, appears to be a stage name used by a 26-year old New Yorker, who may or may not be a transsexual, and who is using a name that comes from the 1981-83 early Japanese anime series Hello! Sandybell.
Whew. I can't seem to muster up any anger at this though. Maybe I'm becoming numb, or maybe, after everything we get from the left to diss our troops, this seems almost funny.

Christ Killa
Thanks to ever alert TUA, the one and only SondraK broke the story about Christ Killa, a video game where you get to shoot down the evil Jesus, over and over again. Michelle Malkin picked it up, and now everyone is talking about it.
I stumbled on a video of what the game is really like, if you're interested...
It opens with an arabic accent claiming "All of the false prophets must die" and there's a lot more to it then just killing Jesus, Evil Jesus is trying to kill you too. and... gamers are treated to photos of George Bush with Evil Jesus, burning American flags and there's a good bit of that arabic accented voice over throughout. I'm sure there are other subliminal messages that I didn't focus on, and I don't care to watch it again. Once was enough.
Ultimately, it is a not so subtle message that targets our youth, and it extends beyond hatred of Christianity.
Brought to you by the enemy within.

On the Media Elite...
and the politics of war...
Was McCain Really an Early Advocate For "Counterinsurgency?" Actually - Yes!
This essay by Dafydd ab Hugh sums up exactly what is wrong with news coverage of the war in Iraq.
No, its not all about John McCain, its only a little about John McCain, and when you read the part that is about John McCain, you might be as surprised as I was (I still won't support a McCain Presidency, but I was surprised at what I read). Once you get past John McCain, you'll see, its really about the media, and how it treats the war.
No, I won't excerpt it, it needs to be read in its entirety. So, go read it. Read every word.

Yom HaShoah
Today is Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever-approaching thunder, which will destroy us too. I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.
In the meantime, I must uphold my ideals, for perhaps the time will come when I shall be able to carry them out.
Anne Frank, Diary of a Young Girl, entry for Saturday, July 15, 1944
The photograph above was taken at the Holocaust Memorial on Miami Beach, Florida.
----------
This is wrong. So very wrong.
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- The name of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl will be added to the Holocaust Memorial Wall and will be unveiled during a ceremony Sunday.
The Holocaust Memorial is in memory of those who died in the Holocaust. Not for those who died at any other time, or place. What a terrible insult to the people who died during the Holocaust this is, shame on Daniel's parents for what they have done. I will never again visit the Memorial, nor will I support it financially.

Mmmm... Beer
What goes well with beer?
Bottles of Rubbel Sexy Lager featured a picture of a woman with a removable swimsuit on the label.
Drinkers could scratch her clothes off to leave her naked, reports Sky News.
A brilliant bit of marketing... except...
Alcohol industry regulator the Portman Group has ruled the name of the drink and the scantily-clad model could lead drinkers to associate the product with sexual success.
The group had received a complaint from trading standards officers in Buckinghamshire.
The lager is produced by Brouwerij Huyghe and had been imported to the UK by Beer Paradise Ltd. It has now been withdrawn from sale.
I'm sure it was fun while it lasted.
and before you ask... yes, I have a picture...

and Suddenly...
After 20 plus years of Don Imus, all of a sudden people are offended?
Don Imus has been bad mouthing Jews and blacks throughout his career. He has praised the KKK and joked about KKK lynchings, and he has joked about the holocaust, about lampshades and soap made from dead Jews. Just last month he went off on Jews as money grubbing, beanie wearing scum.
It's called free speech and its guaranteed by the government. You can say whatever you want without fear of the government. But alas, as Imus just discovered, there are no protections against social backlash.
So, why did it take 20 years and a nappy head comment to shut down Don Imus? There's a simple answer, people listen to Imus, they like him and they have supported 20 years of racist jokes and innuendos, because they agree with what he says. That says more to me than anything. Don Imus is one man, but his listeners are many.
I don't think Don Imus should be forced off the air, in a perfect world, he would have been off the air because no one agreed with his views on Blacks and Jews.
Still, people are full of contradictions. After 9/11, the same Don Imus who joked about dead Jews being made into lampshades and soap said "We support Israel because it's the right thing to do."
And, if Don Imus was black, and he called these women "nappy-headed hos," he would still have his job. Sometimes, its not about what was said, its about who said it.

So now, the witch hunt begins, spearheaded by the worst offenders. How ridiculous it all is. Imus should have just said he was drunk, and checked into rehab for a week or two.

Aftermath
As the government of Israel considers releasing palestinian terrorists it holds within its prisons in exchange for the release of Gilad Shalit, I urge the world to consider what happens when you negotiate with evil:

These are the faces of 177 Jews, all of whom were murdered by palestinian terrorists after the terrorists were released from Israeli prisons.
When you consider what we know the aftermath will be, should Israel release more terrorists to obtain the freedom of Gilad Shalit?
Well, consider that we know the Israeli left will release those terrorist eventually anyway, as they have in the past, for the stupid, ineffective and meaningless negotiations with terrorists who want only to kill us. They have before, and they will again.
Gilad Shalit is only one life. But perhaps Gilad Shalit is the one Jewish life that can be saved.
Still, the terrorists will continue to kill us no matter what.
And... this exchange will surely encourage more kidnappings of more Israeli soldiers.
But then, there would likely be more kidnappings anyway.
I look at those faces, and I want to cry.
I could argue with myself all day about such things, one Jew, three opinions.
My solution? I would take the list of prisoners the palestinians want released, and I would execute one a day, until Gilad Shalit is released, or I run out of prisoners.
That way, the end result is a good one, either way.
But, that's just me.

Sanctuary!
So, according to the UN, the US has offered sanctuary to 7,000 palestinians from Iraq. Ain't that grand! Just think, no other country in the world will welcome them, even their arab "brothers" reject them, but the US is throwing open its doors.
Just forget about all those "Death to America" chants and the post-9/11 celebrations. Remember, palestinians are our friends.
In a perfect world, these palestinians would be settled in a blue state, preferably Massachusetts, but this is not a perfect world. Goodness knows where these palestinians might end up, but if you're lucky, it could be your state! And what if it is your state? What changes could you expect?
Well, in accordance with the demands made on Israel when it comes to the palestinians, we can assume that any state offering sanctuary to palestinians will provide the same fair and equitable treatment of palestinians that the world has demanded from Israel. Despite their "reputation" for blowing themselves up in discos and pizzarias and shooting rockets at hospitals and grade schools, you shouldn't worry, and your sensitivity to what has been described as their "natural reaction to oppression" will help them overcome these character flaws.
In accordance with palestinian religious beliefs, one of the first things the palestinians will want to do upon their arrival in your state will be to destroy any and all places of worship already existing in your state and to build a mosque on top of the land where they once stood. All religious books other than the Koran will be burned or otherwise destroyed. The fires are very pretty and will be enjoyed by your entire community.
Any attempt to stop the palestinians from exercising their religious freedom in your state will be considered an act of oppression and result in the immediate declaration of an intifada, and the lives (and the land) of its citizens will be forfeit. The declaration of an intifada means that the palestinians are now allowed to kill as many of your state's citizens as possible, using any and all ways and means available, while the rest of the world cheers them on. In accordance with condemnations of Israel for taking actions to protect her citizens, you can be sure that your state will not make any attempt to deter its palestinians from slaughtering its citizens in great numbers, and will to allow them to do so without any hinderance. In fact, your state will likely provide them with bus passes. Failure to do so will result in the immediate declaration of another intifada.
As a citizen of your state, you would do well to remember that once the mosque is standing, you will not be permitted to enter the grounds, lest you defile such a holy place. Should you, or any citizen who is not a palestinian, ever set foot on the grounds, another intifada will be declared.
Jews and Christians are offensive to palestinians, and your state should immediately relocate any and all Jews and Christians out of the state and to a place far away enough so as not to offend the sensibilities of the palestinians, perhaps the moon. Failure to do so will result in the immediate declaration of yet another intifada.
Once your state gets its intifada(s), the re-education of your children in the fine arts of rock throwing and suicide bombing will immediately commence. The palestinians will then smuggle weapons and arabs from other countries like Jordan and Syria and Iran to support the intifada(s) (which your state will have brought upon itself). Any such arabs who manage to sneak into your state to kill its citizens should immediately be considered just another one of your state's palestinians. Construction of a border fence to keep "future" palestinians out of your state and/or the failure to make these palestinians welcome in your state will result in the immediate declaration of another intifada.
In order to support the intifada(s), safe houses will need to be established to allow for the storage of munitions and the manufacture of suicide bombs, tunnels will need to be dug to transport them from one neighborhood to the next. The destruction of these safehouses and/or tunnels will be considered a massacre of poor oppressed palestinians and will result in the immediate declaration of another intifada. Any palestinians killed in the preparation of bombs will be considered to have been a freedom fighter killed by your state and their deaths will result in the declaration of another intifada.
Of course, eventually, your state should offer its palestinians their own state within your state, since the failure to do so would be considered an act of oppression and result in the declaration of another intifada. In order to establish the palestinian state within your state, your state should forcibly remove a large number of its citizens from their homes and businesses and put those citizens in tents, caravans and/or jail if they resist, in order to provide the palestinians with the free housing they deserve. Failure to do so will also result in the immediate declaration of another intifada.
Yes, there is much to look forward to if your state becomes a sanctuary for palestinians, I'm sure you will enjoy your new neighbors as much as Israel does.

Meet Private Johnson Beharry
Amid the deaths and the grim daily struggle bravely borne by Britain's forces in southern Iraq, one tale of heroism stands out.
Private Johnson Beharry's courage in rescuing an ambushed foot patrol then, in a second act, saving his vehicle's crew despite his own terrible injuries earned him a Victoria Cross.
For the BBC, however, his story is "too positive" about the conflict.
The corporation has cancelled the commission for a 90-minute drama about Britain's youngest surviving Victoria Cross hero because it feared it would alienate members of the audience opposed to the war in Iraq.
The BBC's retreat from the project, which had the working title Victoria Cross, has sparked accusations of cowardice and will reignite the debate about the broadcaster's alleged lack of patriotism."
~~
Hmmm... what do you suppose they'll run instead? Maybe "Buttboys from Birth - The Backdoor Adventures of Robby and Joe."
Its all about sensitivity man.

I love my Mossberg
But this might be a ilttle easier to carry around...

Its a Smith & Wesson, "Scandium alloy frame with a Titanium cylinder" and touted as "the strongest and lightest weight .357 Magnum revolver made." I like the way it looks, but it might be too big and at almost $1,000, its a little pricey. I haven't visited the gun store yet.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Where is Matt Maupin?
Three years ago today, terrorists kidnapped Private First Class Keith "Matt" Maupin during a convoy attack near Baghdad.
He was seen alive on one videotape, reported killed on another, but no one can be sure. Matt is not considered "missing in action" and he's not considered a "prisoner of war" either. There is no Geneva convention to protect Matt, no one knows if he is being well treated or is even alive. No one knows the who or what of those behind the kidnapping, the "Persistent Power Against the Enemies of God and the Prophet."
Pfc. Keith Matthew Maupin
MIA since April 9, 2004.
You are not forgotten!
Keith "Matt" Maupin has simply disappeared, but the Army presumes he is still alive and promoted Matt to Sargeant last year. His memory lives on in his hometown of Batavia, and I have not forgotten Matt either, he is one of our nation's best and brightest, and I'm praying for his safe return.
Please, take a moment today, visit the Yellow Ribbon Support Center (Matt's parents' website), sign the guestbook, and let his family know that you care.
Others who remember Matt:
Rhymes with Right; A Soldier's Mind; Sunday Morning Coffee; Tanker Brothers; The Two Malcontents; Utechblog; Ladman's Chinese Takeout; AF Sister; and Cop the Truth.
The Ohio Chapter of Rolling Thunder is sponsoring the "Matt Maupin Scholarship Fund" on April 14, 2007, more info is here, and yes, you can donate.

The Pirates of Tehran
A most excellent essay by Fred Thompson:
Oil prices fell. The stock market rose. Video images of smiling British soldiers with Iranian President Ahmadinejad were everywhere. So were pictures of the 15 freed hostages embracing family members back home. The relief over the return of the Brits was so tremendous; you could almost hear birds singing.
Maybe it's because military action won't be needed or maybe it's just because the ordeal won't drag on and on, but the world is breathing easier now. A lot of folks are happy. The problem, as I see it, is that Ahmadinejad seems to be the happiest.
And why shouldn't he be? He has shown the world that his forces can kidnap British citizens, subject them to brutal psychological tactics to coerce phony confessions, finagle the release of a high-ranking Iranian terror coordinator in Iraq, utterly trash the Geneva conventions and suffer absolutely no consequences.
The UN Security Council summoned its vaunted multilateral greatness to issue a swift statement of sincere uneasiness. The EU, which has pressured Britain to rely on Europeans for mutual defense instead of the US, wouldn't even discuss economic sanctions that might disrupt their holidays. Even NATO was AWOL.
~
It is critical that we see this incident as part of a long pattern of behavior -- that will continue as long as the current leadership is in power. More importantly, it will escalate unimaginably if Iran achieves nuclear status, and with it the ability to hold millions rather than individuals hostage.
I have no idea if Ahmadinejad and those who put him in power really believe the Shi'a Twelver doctrine that they can spur the messiah to return by triggering Armageddon. You have to admit, though, that the possibility that they look forward to entering paradise as martyrs would make them a whole lot scarier as a nuclear power than the USSR ever was.

Tonight is the night
to raise our hands to the heavens:
Halailah Zeh Hazman by Gadi Elbaz & Alon De Loco. Israeli rap.
I don't like rap, at all. Generally, it just ticks me off, the beat, the words, the style, the rhythm of rap is made to tick you off. But this is Israeli, so its different. I wouldn't even call it rap, and it didn't tick me off, it made me feel good, so good that I was bouncing around in my chair!
In the comments on YouTube, the arabs accuse the Israelis of stealing their music style and using the music to put down arabs. Pretty funny, since its not Israelis and arabs in the video, its Hasidic Jews and non-Hasidic Jews, the ultra religious and the not. The song is about coming together. "Tonight is the night to raise our hands to the heavens."
I'm looking for a clear translation of the lyrics, haven't found them yet.

Hacking John McCain
I'm sure heads rolled at McCain Campaign Headquarters when one of the staffers used a template designed by Newsvine Founder and CEO Mike Davidson. Mr. Davidson gave the template code away to anyone who wanted to use it, but asked that he be given credit when it was used, and told users to host their own image files.
Except, McCain’s staff used the template, deleted the credit to Davidson, and then hotlinked images from his server, meaning he has to pay for the bandwidth used from page views on McCain’s MySpace.
So: a little switcheroo and.... instead of McCain's contact information, the following statement appeared:
Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay marriage…particularly marriage between two passionate females.

Now, how much fun is that you ask? Well, I can tell you from personal experience, its a lot of fun.
And you thought MySpace was just for kids...

Amen

iPod to the rescue!
Found on Flicker, via Discarded Lies...
My wife’s uncle works in a military hospital and told me about this. Its pretty amazing. Kevin Garrad (3rd Infantry Division) was on a street patrol in Iraq (Tikrit I believe) and as he rounded the corner of a building an armed (AK-47) insurgent came from the other side.
The two of them were within just a few feet of each other when they opened fire. The insurgent was killed and Kevin was hit in the left chest where his IPod was in his jacket pocket. It slowed the bullet down enough that it did not completely penetrate his body armor. Fortunately, Kevin suffered no wound.
I thought it was a great story so I posted them here.
DANG! Looks I may have been suckered. I hate it when that happens!

I blame Bush
Baghdad, 4 April (AKI) - The first video attributed to a new Iraqi insurgent group was posted to radical Islamist internet forums on Wednesday. The three-minute film, entitled "The First Operation of Iraqi Hamas" showed the explosion of a roadside bomb in the Baghdad suburbs, as a truck supplying the US military bases passes by. The group is believed to have been formed at the end of March from a split within the 1920s Brigades, a group responsible for numerous kidnapping and suicide bombs. Some analysts believe "Iraqi Hamas" comprises militiamen linked to the Islamic party in parliament and to the local chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood.
A man described as the group's representative in Jordan, Muhammad Ayash al-Kubeisi, told Al Jazeera "we fight the infidels and want the withdrawal of the Americans, but we do not consider the other Iraqis as apostates. For us, they are citizens, just as we are, and we want a dialogue with them.
------
I blame Bush. Despite lip service to the contrary, the United States has continued to support the Hamas in Israel with dialogue, as well as funds and arms. This open and active support of the Hamas in Israel has turned the terrorist group into a political power.
"We do not have any organisational link with Hamas [the militant group in the Palestinian territories] but we follow its doctrine and we take our inspiration from them" he said. "We share their vision of carrying out armed resistance and at the same time standing as candidates and being involved in politics."
And now we have its bastard child running amok in Iraq, along with Hezbollah and aligned with the ever popular al-Sadr:
This week it finally happened. Hizbullah has come out of the closet and launched a full-scale military campaign against US-led forces in Iraq.
Two weeks after the US shelved its sanctions against Hizbullah sponsor Syria, and as the US remains silent in the face of increased Iranian assertiveness in advancing the mullocracy's Manhattan Project, the cat jumped out of the bag.
Ushering in his fight against the US, Hizbullah-Iranian front man Moqtada al-Sadr told his followers last Friday, "I am the striking arm for Hizbullah and Hamas in Iraq because the fate of Iraq and Palestine is the same." Under the spell of Sadr's call to "terrorize" the Americans, Shi'ite militiamen launched attacks in several cities at once. Militarily, the results have been mixed but have served to cause a political maelstrom by spooking US coalition partners into reconsidering their involvement in Iraq.
Islamic terrorism has been allowed and yes, legitimatized in Israel and now, the plague is spreading. it appears that the world will suffer the consequences of its actions.
As the saying goes... "As Israel suffers, so shall the world."

No. No. and No.
The parents of John Walker Lindh, serving a 20-year sentence in the country's toughest federal prison, stepped up their request for his release today by noting that the first U.S. war-crimes tribunal in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, recently resulted in a punishment of just nine months.
"John has been in prison for more than five years," said his mother, Marilyn Walker. "It's time for him to come home."
This, said his lead attorney, James J. Brosnahan of San Francisco, "is a simple cry for justice."
--------
I cannot help but think of Johnny "Mike" Spann who was attacked by a mob of Islamist prisoners and beaten to death, his body full of bites as though animals had been tearing at his flesh. Lindh was one of those prisoners.
Justice? John Walker Lindh is no different from Mohamed Atta or Zarqawi or any other moslem terrorist. If there were justice, John Walker Lindh would be dead. Instead, he got off with only 20 years in SuperMax. At the least, he should have gotten life.
For the record, I object to my tax dollars feeding this bastard. He should have been shot while trying to escape.

A mother's legacy
Imagine a world where a mother's greatest act of love is not to nurture her children, but rather to abandon them in favor of blowing herself to bits to kill others. What life lesson does this teach her children, and what does it teach us about palestinians?
Meet four year old Duha, as she sings about the glories of her mother, female suicide bomber Reem Riyashi.
These are the words that Duha, Reem's daughter, sings to her mother:
[Daughter sees mother preparing explosives sticks]
"Mommy, what are you carrying
in your arms instead of me?
[Mother turns to hide bomb]
A toy or a present for me?...
Mommy Reem!
Why did you put on your veil?
Are you going out, Mommy?...
Come back quickly, Mommy
I can't sleep without you,
unless you tell me and Ubaydah [her brother] a bedtime story.
[Daughter sees mother's picture and news story about bombing on PA TV]
My mother, my mother,
Me and Ubaydah are awake and waiting for you
to come to put us to sleep.
Me and Ubaydah, oh Mommy,
still need you to wipe our tears...
Instead of me you carried a bomb in your hands.
Only now, I know what was more precious than us...
May your steps be blessed,
and may you be flawless for Jerusalem.
Me and Ubaydah wish we were there with you.
[Images of her mother's grave and the graves of other terrorists,
including Aayat Al-Akhras, 17-year-old female suicide terrorist]
Send greetings to our Messenger [Muhammad] and tell him:
'Duha loves you.'
My love will not be [merely] words.
I am following Mommy in her steps.
[Finds explosives that mother left in her drawer,
picks up stick of explosives]
Oh Mommy, oh Mommy."
Such is the love of a palestinian mother for her child, and the legacy she gives not only to her children, but to the thousands of other children who will watch this video and sing this song.

Smackdown!
Russ Vaughn takes rosie down on Old War Dogs:
Wild Irish Rose
by Russ Vaughn
What is that stench wafts ‘neath the nose?
Is it ABC’s Wild Irish Rose?
Must we endure this big broad’s ranting,
That has the liberal loon’s all chanting?
Dubya brought those towers down,
Claims this crazy corpulent clown.
Is our rotund Rose blatantly batty,
Or just hates the world ‘cause she‘s a fatty?
Appears that ABC has found
Ratings come cheaper by the pound;
Need someone hot, to blow and blab?
Hire a has-been encased in flab.
If its controversy that you like,
Broadcast a belligerent blowhard dyke,
Who hates the world because she’s fat,
And a dyke-by-default due to that.
Rose once played with Irish boys,
But boys don’t stay with tubby toys,
So Rosie pinned her heart to girls,
And men became just dogs and churls;
Especially men who act like men,
So Rosie’s out to do them in.
It’s sad to see such intelligence
Warped by hate, no common sense.
I take no pleasure in rhyming odium,
But I lack Rosie’s national podium,
No broadcast forum for rants and raves,
No applauding audiences, witless slaves;
Why denounce her deviance, excess weight?
Because they’re the roots of this Rose’s hate
Of a system where she’s never fit,
And she attacks our nation because of it.
A Rose by any name smells sweet?
Not this bulbous blossom of fatuous heat.
Bravo!
and... interestingly, there's a PC version at American Thinker.

Robert A. Levinson
That's the name of the American missing in Iran for weeks.
He's retired FBI, he worked in the organized crime division and he lives here in SoFla, Coral Springs is just a hop, skip and jump from my home. By the way, Bobby is Jewish, and known to be proud of it.
The last anyone heard, he was on Kish. Say a little prayer, huh?

UPDATE

Isaias called his mother, Evangelina Magdaleno, on his cell phone and told her: "The cops are behind me; I don't want to go to prison; I will either kill myself or the cops are going to have to kill me."
