Here's a bit of good news

from today's Sun-Sentinel:

with bonus quote:

"I don't think about the public worries too much about Jeffrey Dahmer … feeling a little sting," - Michael Rushford, president of the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation in Sacramento.

No worries here!

No worries here either, Linda. That also seems like a plausible device for placing "battlefield combatants" or "terrorist detainees". Strap them in, and scare the bejeezus out of them.

It's time to get serious when dealing with EVIL- whether domestic bred or Islamo-facsist kind.

These people have committed the most heinous acts, causing great physical and mental pain to their victims and their families and friends, and we have some worried that we are causing SOME pain in the execution? I don't advocate slow, painful deaths, but we don't have to make this as nice as simply falling asleep and not waking up.

John Douglas, the famous FBI profiler on whom the character Jack Crawford in Silence of the Lambs is based, spoke at length with actor Scott Glenn (who played Crawford in the film) about what his job entails. Douglas played a cassette recording of two men, a serial killer and a serial rapist, who liked to record their "work" so they could play it back during lulls in activity. This particular recording was of a 17-year old girl being brutally raped, tortured and ultimately killed. Part of her horrific demise (pardon me, but these are the facts) included having an awl (like an ice pick) slammed into her ear. Glenn, long an opponent of the death penalty, broke down and wept uncontrollably as the tape played.

I am not certain that making such details of what really goes on during horrific crimes a matter of public discourse; however, I firmly believe that people need to realize that when a person actually gets the death penalty, we're very often talking about somebody that graduated from Sadism University, a person who derives seemingly Satanic pleasure from causing trauma and terror upon innocent human beings.

If these lumps of shit suffer during their execution, then thank G-d that they did! If their victims never deserved such treatment, the SOB's who murdered them most certainly do. I don't think we have to cause suffering during executions, but if it happens, just chaulk it up to good luck and the grace of the Almighty.

Well guys, like you, I have no sympathy at all, and in fact, I hope it hurts.

Kevin, I didn't know about John Douglas/Scott Glenn. What a chilling story, and it makes the point very well.
