50 Years Ago Today

Elvis gave us this...

Happy 50th birthday, Jailhouse Rock!

50 years ago we were forbidden to listen to Elvis, he was categorized as a long haired pervert by my parents and we were given burr haircuts to prove the family didn't like his music,(we kids listened anyway on a crystal radio, KOMA in Oklahoma City, and KMPC in California were strong signal stations). I was in Tennessee on the 10th anniversary of his passing, an Elvis fan could do no wrong, he was a "homeboy". I guess I'm a throwback, I like Elvis, Carl Perkins, Cash, heck, all of them, still do.

Hi Linda,

I have been viewing your site for over a year now, and agree with much of what you post. Two weeks ago I had surgery on my left arm...there has not been much to smile about. Long days filled with pain, sickness, frustration and sadness.I opened up this clip with Elvis......I couldn't help but smile. You lifted my spirits today. Thanks

Hi Deanna,

Thank you so much for taking the time to say hi and for letting me know you're here.

I'm so sorry for your pains, I had a bit of surgery myself and know how awful the aftermath can be. I'm glad Elvis lifted your spirits, and I think he would be glad too.

I hope you'll feel better soon. Let us know, okay?
