56 years later... to the day!
I find this kind of thing fascinating...
A demolition worker found the wallet inside a wall in the theater. His wife then tracked down Val's wife, Jeanette Gregoire, and sent her the contents.
Val Gregoire was serving on the U.S.S. Macon in April 1951. The 18-year-old Navy gunner had a one day pass in Boston and spent it with his mother and Jeanette, his then 19-year-old girlfriend.
"In the evening when we departed he left to go to the ship and on his way he was hit on the head and knocked right out and they just took his wallet and they even took his pants," said Jeanette Gregorie.
Jeanette Gregoire says that the wallet was found exactly 56 years to the day that it was stolen. The Navy pass in the wallet was dated April 11, 1951. It was found on April 11th, 2007.

I lost my wallet last weekend on South Beach, but managed to keep my pants. I realized I didn't have it when it came time to pay for dinner. bummer.
