Like a bad penny...

She turns up again:

Seven years ago, she was wasting public dollars hunting the ever elusive Al Gore Chad, today, she's talking about cutting off the flow of emergency information to Broward County because she doesn't like Rush Limbaugh.

The Sun-Sentinel wrote in 2001 that Sue is "a real reformer," explaining that she is "out there fighting every week, demanding that the county be more accountable. [She] wants insiders to have less influence and the people to have more."

Yes, Sue Gunzburger wants "insiders to have less influence and the people to have more" and that's why she is fighting to stifle free speech in Broward County and in the process, putting the health, safety and security of Broward County on the line. WIOD has the strongest signal, and in South Florida, has become the number one source of emergency information, cutting programs when necessary, to get us the information we need to survive a hurricane.

Now, Sue is trying to change all that, and move Broward County's emergency information to a smaller station, with a weaker signal because she doesn't like Rush Limbaugh, and in the process, Sue is likely cutting off the flow of emergency information, in the name of politics.

This really ticks me off. I live in Miami-Dade, but, I'm a stone's throw from the county line, and in an emergency, I need information from both Miami-Dade and Broward counties. All three of my emergency radios are tuned to WIOD.

Sue Gunzburger is willing to put our lives on the line, and the lives of our children and loved ones, to score a political point against Rush Limbaugh.

Stupid silly bitch. The Sun-Sentinel has accumulated close to 2,000 comments on the article that exposes Sue's demands, and it makes for some interesting reading. There are lots of out-of-towners and Rush fans chiming in, but, there are plenty of locals too. I get the feeling the citizens of Broward County might do a little housecleaning next election.

Special thanks to DoubleU for bringing this to my attention.

UPDATE!:

County commissioners said they were deluged with complaints from throughout the country Wednesday after they questioned whether to cut their ties with the station because of their dislike for Limbaugh. By the end of the day, a majority of commissioners vowed to renew WIOD's agreement next week.

*snort* and the comments are hilarious.

Comments

When I looked at the article it didn't have a comment section. What amazes me is that the democrats refused Fox news for the debates, this woman refuses a local station because of its right wing programing (it is called capitalism Suzy) They are the dividers, not the uniters.

The left like any socialist/communist is trying to find a group of people to blame all their problems on. Hitler blamed the Jews, I wonder if Mizzz Gunzburger knows how hitlerish she is. However this is South Florida, I don't know if they will clean up problems, remember all the problems with the Board of Election supervisor M. Ellepant (sp?) They kept her on a long time despite all the problems.

And .... Angela Jolie is against Fox News also.

Once again, they can't compete on a level playing field, therefore they must legislate it out of existence. They tried with Air America, Al Franken and Randi Rhodes spent all their air time head to head with Limbaugh, slamming the administration, spewing hatred and sowing seeds of dissention in their Hate America programming, they lost. Corrupt financial deals and legislation didn't work for them, so the left is back to censureship. Rope, Tree and no instructions needed.

I guess this story is getting national attention, regular programing gets taken off the air during an emergency so I don't understand this woman's point.

Follow-up,
Did they back down?

DoubleU, I fail to see her point as well, really, did she expect that the number one radio show would be kicked off the air for her?

Its so stupid, it boggles the mind.

The left are cowards, they won't have their Presidential debate on Fox News, they tried to do this to the radio station which would also put lives at risk but they don't care. I have zero respect for the left and worse so I probably shouldn't even comment here but I just had to. hahaha

Thank you Linda for posting about this.
