One little life, saved

The little guy's mom was eight months pregnant and she was shot in the stomach by a family member.

On the Afghanistan border with Pakistan, our troops battled to save the lives of both mother and child.

Against all odds, our troops won that battle! It was touch and go for a while, but both Mom and baby are on their way to recovery.

Watch the clip, its amazing. I never would have expected such reporting from the BBC. I don't know how it got past the anti-American, anti-war censors, but I'm grateful that it did. Imagine what life would be like if more of these stories slipped past the censors and into the living rooms of America.

G-d bless our Troops! USA! USA!! USA!!!

UPDATE From the comments, Beth points out...

And! Those tribal animals are utterly barbaric. A family member shot her in the abdomen to kill the baby!
I do notice the Beeb said this is a "victim of Afghanistan's conflict," as if this shooting wouldn't ever have happened if there weren't a war going on. YEAH, RIGHT. They're f'ing animals. The only difference would be that nobody would be there saving the mother and baby. If anything, they're BENEFICIARIES of Afghanistan's conflict, but victims of 7th century Afghani culture.

You're absolutely right Beth, thank you!

That's a GREAT clip, Linda! USA! USA! USA!

I'm thinking the Beeb is trying to stick a band-aid on the "Culture of Bias" report they recently got and their recent public solicitation for military troop movements around Baquba/Diyala province so they could report it as "news" (read: intel for the enemy). I'm sure they'll be back to the regularly scheduled sedition after a day or two.

You are absolutely right Beth, and I completely missed that. Thank you!

I still think it's a great story. It reminds us that our guys are the good guys - people seem to forget that. They are dealing with animals and trying to pull them into the 21st century is a near impossible job.

Lord only knows what'll happen to that woman and baby when they are sent back to the family.

What will happen to her?

Well, she'll likely be stoned because the evil Americans removed her clothes while they were saving her life and the life of her baby and therefore, she has defiled the family honor.

Great story Linda and Beth, unfortunately I think Linda is right about her being doomed by the culture. The same terrible horrors occurred in my era with a different monster, people slaughtered for accepting U.S. medical aid. It doesn't matter whether that monster is Islam or Communism the end result is the same. Terrorizing and killing of the innocent.

What a great story, even with the bbc spin beth noticed. God bless our military and what they do. I don't know how you find this stuff Linda. I'm sending to everyone I know.

I happened to catch this on the news. I seldom watch tv news, and was surprised that they would show a positive story such as this. It surprised me even more when they gave the reason she was shot. If they had left that reason out, it could have been inferred that the Americans shot her. Guess I lucked out happening on a pro American military story.

I picked up this clip shortened and edited from ABC News yesterday june 23rd. Having watched the full BBC version, I wonder why ABC decided to edit out the frames showing the US soldiers 'speak' and actually show them in positive light and showing them working pro-actively to help the Afghan people in the long run.

The result of the US MediVac teams' efforts and the consequences of the 'war' are and will always be contradictory and will agree with most and disagree with some.
