Interesting rant from a proud member of the PC community. It never ceases to amaze me how many people feel so charged about pointing a finger at someone and screaming "racist" or "bigot." It's as though identifying or "calling onto the carpet" someone on the grounds that they don't drip all over the kitchen floor with the milk of human kindness somehow makes the accuser feel good about themself. "Look at me. I'm outing a racist!"

So let's say I return from a 4-year stint in Saudi Arabia (which I did). Somebody comes up to me and says, "Wow. What are the Saudis really like?"

I respond with something like "Well, they are brought up to despise and hate Jews and Christians from Day One. Their schools are filled with teachers and textbooks that excoriate all non-Islamic religions as false and revolting. Jews are classified as the descendents of pigs and Christians are related to apes. Lying and deception to non-Muslims is not only permitted, it is an obligatory precept in Islam. Honor killings are rampant and no country in the world spends as much time and money promoting a culture of hatred and intolerance, not even Iran."

Wild shock on their face. "Well, obviously you're a racist and a bigot! You just can't accept that other cultures aren't obliged to measure up to your self-absorbed American standards! To hell with you!"

Well, pardon me for having a pair of eyes and a brain behind them (or, as Jack Nicholson once said, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!).

I, for one, am very grateful that the God Who *IS* is also the loving and merciful God - it's too bad d.s. cannot appreciate that.
