Three shots
There can be no doubt:
Benazir Bhutto was most certainly shot before the blast, and she had fallen into the vehicle before the bomb went off. The government is surely lying.

I still believe Musharraf, if not directly responsible, was at very least complicit.

I believe you're right on both counts Melissa. It will get ugly, and Musharraf is somehow involved. Why else would he deny her private security?

Should be pretty damn interesting how Mushsafff is going to spin this one. BUT was the shooter a govenment hit man or was it really Taliban?
The sucide bomber was right behind him and i don't know how that scheme would work with a Musharaff aide.

Political assassination is a fact of life in Pakistan. Politics there is a blood sport. Frankly, I have no use for Bhutto at all. She was a cheap opportunist and a crook. I frankly don't give a damn about democracy in Pakistan. What I do worry about is the increasing power of Al Qaeda in Pakistan and Pakistan's nuclear arsenal.

Musharraf has many faults, but he is the only viable leader of a Pakistan where 46% of the population support Al Qaeda. Democracy gave us Hamas in Gaza. Do we want a repeat in Pakistan?

Everybody says this is going to turn ugly. I don't disagree, but if G-d were to give the world an enema, Pakistan is where He'd stick the tube. Just how much more ugly can that place get?
