How demented is this?

From Salon.com's Advice Column:

She's decided not to have a child because she can't know in advance whether or not the child would want to exist. Makes you wonder what she's been smoking, doesn't it? On a demented scale of 1 to 10, I'd give that thought process a 15, however, the psychobabble she got in reply might be worthy of a 16...

[This] implies that many other things we create may also take their revenge on us in ways we do not understand: that novels may refuse to be sold or read and paintings may refuse to be seen, that music may refuse to be played properly and movies refuse to be shown. It might explain why so many works of art seem to find such poor fates: They are taking revenge on their creators. They did not want to exist in the first place. They resent us. They laugh at us. They scorn our pitiable attempts to create beauty. They show each other their scars, like cosmetic surgery victims in the waiting room of torts attorneys. Perhaps they despise us for our hubris, too, for acting like gods so poorly, for not knowing our limits.

Yannow, she went to the wrong place for answers. She should have come to me:

No. Other people do not think that way. Do the world a favor, put down the bong for a moment and give some consideration to the needs and wants of those of us already here, those of us who would really prefer that people like you did not procreate. We would be eternally grateful if you would stick to that very good decision to stay the heck out of the gene pool. Lord knows its polluted enough. Oh... and by the way, please stay the heck out of the voting booth as well.

sheesh. If stupidity were painful, I know at least three people who would be in agony.

It's a selfish mindset like that which creates the opportunity for immigration, legal or not and the subsequent take over by the muzzies. I'm glad they are not reproducing where they have become a minority but they are being replaced by outsiders, soon to be orphans in their own homes, there won't be enough of the indigenous people left to maintain the poll booth let alone muster a vote.

Wow, and I just thought they were my kids.....Didn't know they resented me for having the selfishness to bring them into this world.

Guess I better hide the kitchen knives, that Lil' Wolfie has a certain outraged look in his eyes.....

I think it is good she isn't having a child.

Hard to see how a child could benefit from non-existence. This sounds like selfishness garnished with stupidity, and with a dash of narcissism.

I was a brat at times.

I was not, however, suicidal-- or pre-cidal, I think the word would be; I must think this woman was just a selfish twit with little sense of reality.
