You can judge the German people

by who their heroes are:

The German Federation of Internal Medicine has awarded a former Nazi SS doctor, suspected of carrying out euthanasia. Dr. Hans-Joachim Sewering, 92, was honored for giving "unequalled services in the cause of freedom of the practice and the independence of the medical profession and to the nation's health system," according to the Federation.

American Jewish organizations previously have charged that Sewering killed 900 Jewish children at a euthanasia center. He has admitted to being part of the elite SS unit but has denied carrying out euthanasia.

Nine hundred children.

It's true, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Euthanasia?

Isn't the correct word for this, Murder?

Of course liberals will simply claim that this was family planning...

I am not sure why this is an issue. He has had 60 years to redeem himself for past crimes, however horrible. Since then he might have been working hard to earn his way to Heaven. I will pray for him and hope that this is the truth and the reason why he has been honored.

I pray that I am right. I would love to know more about him, just to see IF he might have redeemed those children he murdered. That IS a huge bill.

Frederick Forsyth, in his novel The Odessa File, summed up the Germans quite nicely. By day they are Christians, but by night they are Wagnerians, addicted to the Ring of the Nebulungen. Their god is Thor, and their prophet is Sigfried. They believe in Valhalla and the blond maiden who will master the white horse upon which all Tutonic heroes will ride to the great mead-hall where they will await the Ragnarok, the final battle between the forces of good and evil.

I have tried to regard Germans as people, but in all cases I am faced with a group of fanatics who seem to think they invented bipedalism and all things civil. They are not.

The only Germans I have ever respected were German Jews. My apologies to readers who are of German heritage. Perhaps you can explain German culture to me someday when I am in the mood to give a good laugh.
