Today's Obama Supporter
Her name is Peggy Joseph, and she is what we here in Florida call a Floridiot. Here she is at the Obama Rally in Sunrise this past Wednesday, all fired up about getting her fair share of your wealth:
Peggy Joseph: "It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment. Because, I, I never thought this day would ever happen. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage, you know, if I help him, he's gonna help me."
How wonderful for Peggy that the Obamamessiah is gonna fill her gas tank and pay her mortgage! I suppose I must have missed that particular campaign promise from Obama, but hey, it leaves "a chicken in every pot" in the dust, don't it?
Is America really this stupid? I like to think it's not, but lately, well, it sometimes appears so.
If the Obamamessiah wins the White House, Peggy Joseph is in for major disappointment, oh yes indeed. She'll learn all about exactly how he treats the poor, and it's a bitter lesson. Yes indeed Peggy, the Obamamessiah is going to help you, just like the Obamamessiah helped the good people of Chicago.
and... thank you Rodger... for heeding my cry for help and putting together that video for me. You are amazing and wonderful and I just loves ya!

Today's Obama Supporter(s)
LIMA, Peru – Barack Obama apparently can count on the support of a majority of Peruvian faith healers. Each of the 11 shamans in a Peruvian faith-healing organization said Wednesday that they have foreseen victory in the U.S. presidential race: nine for Democrat Obama and two for his Republican rival John McCain.

Blowing incense over a sacred llama fetus perched on a bed of coca leaves next to posters of the leading candidates, the shamans shook rattles, chanted "up, Obama, up!" and threw flowers at their images.

The shamans whistled, chanted and rubbed both posters with Andean spirit-totems, crucifixes, a statue of a dark-skinned Jesus and other idols to scare away bad spirits and negative energies they said might prevent a fair and democratic election.
"We are cleansing both of them so that on Nov. 4 the person that the U.S. really deserves wins," Osco said. "We have seen that if the election is not fair, there will be another global economic crisis, war and despair."
A sacred llama fetus?

Above the Law
and below contempt:
An embattled Massachusetts state senator appeared in a federal courtroom today charged with taking $23,500 in bribes, including cash that she stuffed into her bra during a meeting at a tony Boston restaurant that was secretly videotaped by an undercover FBI agent, federal prosecutors said.
Democratic state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson faces 40 years in prison after federal prosecutors outlined accusations that she accepted the bribes over an 18-month period in a money-for-legislative influence sting operation, prosecutors said. She had $6,000 in cash in her purse when she was arrested at her Roxbury home by nearly two dozen law enforcement officials, prosecutors said.
A federal complaint charges that Wilkerson accepted eight bribes totaling $23,500 over an 18-month period in exchange for her influence on Beacon Hill. Undercover agents posed as a property developer who wanted to build on state land, and another worked Wilkerson as a potential barroom owner willing to pay for a liquor license.
But wait! There's more!
Wilkerson's attorney Max Stern insisted that his client was innocent. He also accused McNeil of trying to "character assassinate" Wilkerson by bringing up her past problems with the Massachusetts attorney general and campaign finance officials.
Wilkerson -– the state's only black state senator –- is a convicted tax cheat and a campaign finance scofflaw who has a long litany of legal problems that has marred her 15-year record as a lawmaker.
There's always more:
Earlier this month, the Massachusetts Bar began proceedings to disbar Wilkerson, an attorney, after an investigation determined that she lied and perjured herself while testifying in a Superior Courtroom on behalf of her nephew, a convicted murderer who was seeking a new trial.
Cheer up democrats. You can still vote for her on November 4:
Wilkerson remained out of public view yesterday, but in a brief statement handed out by campaign volunteers at her headquarters in Roxbury, the Democrat urged voters to stick with her in Tuesday's election after 15 years in office.
"Not only does this represent the biggest challenge in my personal and political life, but it will test to the limit the notion of innocent until proven guilty," Wilkerson said in the statement.
Innocent! Caught on camera, but she's innocent!! I thought she'd pull out the race card, and she likely will later, but for now, well, it looks like she's sticking with the Shaggy Defense:
Honey came in and she caught me red-handed
Creeping with the girl next door
Picture this, we were both butt naked,
banging on the bathroom floor
How could I forget that I had
Given her an extra key
All this time she was standing there
She never took her eyes off me
~ ~ ~
To be a true player you have to know how to play
If she say a night, convince her say a day
Never admit to a word when she say makes a claim
And you tell her baby no way
But she caught me on the counter
(It wasn't me)
Saw me bangin' on the sofa
(It wasn't me)
I even had her in the shower
(It wasn't me)
She even caught me on camera
(It wasn't me)
She saw the marks on my shoulder
(It wasn't me)
Heard the words that I told her
(It wasn't me)
Heard the scream get louder
(It wasn't me)
She stayed until it was over
Honey came in and she caught me red-handed
Creeping with the girl next door
Picture this, we were both butt naked,
banging on the bathroom floor
I had tried to keep her
From what she was about to see
Why should she believe me
When I told her it wasn't me
And it looks like it's working, at least one idiot believes her:
"I've given her staunch support and I'm going to stay loyal," said Dave Goodman, a 43-year-old Roxbury resident who said even photos and audio can be doctored.
And so, yet another "champion for the poor and downtrodden" joins the ranks of Marion Barry, Kwame Kilpatrick, Alcee Hastings and of course, William Jefferson, who I hear is ahead in his race to keep his seat despite his freezer full of cash bribes.

But...
From the Florida Today:
Democrats are beaming that their party is outperforming the Republicans in early voting, releasing numbers Wednesday that show registrants of their party ahead 54 percent to 30 percent among the 1.4 million voters who have gone to the polls early.
But...
A Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll gave McCain a 49-45 lead over Democrat Barack Obama among Floridians who have already voted.
Well. That must mean that a good many of them there early voting democrats are early voting for John McCain, along with a good many early voting independents too. Imagine that. And good golly, gee whiz, wouldn't ya know, the headline reads "Poll gives McCain Lead in Fla. Early Voting" but they mention a few older polls too, just so they can say this:
Republican operatives said McCain can make up for the apparent Obama surge in early voting through the robust absentee ballot program.
If you read the article, you'll likely notice that the democrats have a "spokesman" while the republicans have "operatives." You'll never guess who the Florida Today recommends.

Gah! I can't wait for it to be over already!

It's McCain - Three to One Over Obama
That is... if you ask our Troops who they want for Commander-in-Chief.
As you know, leftist media giant Gannett News Service is well known for its support of the democrats. And, you likely also know that Gannett owns The Military Times, Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Times, and still, Gannett newspapers continue to publish anti-war articles.
So, in what is likely to be one of the biggest surprises of this election, Gannett, via The Military Times, has allowed the publication of a military-wide election survey from all branches. And, just so I am clear, it's not the results that are a surprise, no. The surprise is that Gannett made it public.
No matter how you break it down, our troops support John McCain in overwhelming numbers.

Officers prefer McCain to Obama by 70% to 22%, and Enlisted men prefer McCain to Obama by 67% to 24%. Men prefer McCain by 70% to 22%, and the Women prefer McCain 53% to 36%.
The only exception... break 'em down by race. The only military demographic Obama takes is amongst blacks, no other demographic comes even close to supporting Obama.

But wait! There's more:

and...

You can draw your own conclusions from that, I've had enough with being called a racist this year.
Why do I get the feeling that the polls here in the states would look similar if the demographics were more... shall we say... honest?
If you're still one of them undecideds this late in the game, why not consider what our troops want, after all, they are out there putting their lives on the line, fighting for your freedom.
P.S. Hey Powell, your endorsement means nothing, piss off!

Sigh. I dream of being at the top of a mountain, maybe in North Carolina. Anywhere but here in the great urban sprawl that is Miami, surrounded by people like the one who called me a racist bitch for having a McCain sticker on my truck.

They came in Peace
Twenty-five years ago today, Hezbullah, under what is believed to be the direct orders of Iran, made their largest and most successful attack against America.
"Their loss is not in vain and we will not break faith with them in the tasks we have ahead... We did not know they would be the first casualties -- among the first -- in the war on terrorism" - Lt. Gen. Jan C. Huly, USMC
In Lebanon, we have some 1,600 Marines, part of a multinational force that's trying to help the people of Lebanon restore order and stability to that troubled land. Our Marines are assigned to the south of the city of Beirut, near the only airport operating in Lebanon. Just a mile or so to the north is the Italian contingent and not far from them, the French and a company of British soldiers.
This past Sunday, at 22 minutes after 6 Beirut time, with dawn just breaking a truck, looking like a lot of other vehicles in the city, approached the airport on a busy, main road. There was nothing in its appearance to suggest it was any different than the trucks or cars that were normally seen on and around the airport. But this one was different. At the wheel was a young man on a suicide mission.
The truck carried some 2,000 pounds of explosives, but there was no way our Marine guards could know this. Their first warning that something was wrong came when the truck crashed through a series of barriers, including a chain-link fence and barbed wire entanglements. The guards opened fire, but it was too late. The truck smashed through the doors of the headquarters building in which our Marines were sleeping and instantly exploded. The four-story concrete building collapsed in a pile of rubble.
More than 200 of the sleeping men were killed in that one hideous, insane attack. Many others suffered injury and are hospitalized here or in Europe. This was not the end of the horror. At almost the same instant, another vehicle on a suicide and murder mission crashed into the headquarters of the French peacekeeping force, an eight-story building, destroying it and killing more than 50 French soldiers.
President Ronald Reagan, 27th Oct. 1983,
Our Marines on sentry duty had their ammunition clips in their pockets. There were no barriers around the barracks, other than a bit of wood and plaster. When the bomb blew, the building was lifted off its foundation. When it came down, it collapsed in a heap of cinder blocks, plaster, and dust. All told, 241 Americans lost their lives in the blast. It was the worst day for the Marines since the battle of Iwo Jima and the worst day for the US military since the first day of the Tet Offensive in Viet Nam.
25 years have come and gone. Our first duty is to remember.
If you have a minute, visit the Beirut Veterans Organization, and lend your support to the Beirut Stamp Initiative.
Thank you Kevin.

An interesting bit of propaganda, complete with not only dead goats, but also dying children full of hate and old women cursing. Sadly, MoveOn hit the nail on the head, predicting riots and death threats as a result of not casting your ballot for obama.

I have just one vote.
And it looks like it will really count this year.
The presidential race in Florida is now essentially even. The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds John McCain ahead of Barack Obama 49% to 48%.
Support for the GOP nominee is at the highest level in the past five polls of the state. Last week, Obama held a 51% to 46% lead. He led by seven points in the Fox/Rasmussen poll the week before.
The match-up is just as close among unaffiliated voters in Florida, with McCain holding a 46% to 45% edge. The Republican now leads 50% to 45% among men, while Obama holds onto a 51% to 48% lead among women (see full demographic crosstabs).
Eighty-five percent (85%) of Florida voters say they are certain who they will vote for in November, while just 15% say there is good chance they can still change their minds.
McCain is viewed favorably by 58% and unfavorably by 41%. Obama's numbers in Florida are 53% favorable, 45% unfavorable.
While voters trust McCain more than Obama overall by a 47% to 45% margin, the candidates are tied at 47% when it comes to trust on the top issue of the economy and jobs. McCain still has the edge on national security, 55% to 41%.
Nearly half of Florida voters (49%) believe Obama does not have the right experience to be president, while 41% say he does have the right experience. However, more than a third (34%) of voters says they would be extremely comfortable with him in office, while 38% say they would not be comfortable at all.
Most voters in Florida (68%) think McCain does have the right experience for the job, compared to just 20% who believe the opposite.
Early voting in Florida started yesterday, with people standing in line for hours to pull the lever for their guy. In 2004, I voted early and seem to remember waiting in line 30 minutes or so. Could it be that the largest swing state will vote NObama? One can only hope.
At the Coral Gables library, Lance Cpl. Joseph Steele stood in a line of 125 people at 11 a.m., when the estimated wait time was 45 minutes.
Monday was the Marine's last chance to vote at a booth -- he returns from his two-week leave Tuesday. Steele said he wasn't sure if he was still registered until Monday morning, when it was confirmed by county officials. It was good news to Steele, who can now vote for his candidate of choice: Sen. John McCain.
''For me, he's the only one that has military experience. I believe that he's the best candidate for the defense of our country. We need someone who has experience,'' he said.
Thank you Lance Cpl, Steele, for protecting my freedom and for taking the time to vote before you returned to Iraq. Godspeed and come home safe!
Now the voters have their say, and I'm looking forward to the exit polling. The Obama Media must be frantic after having shoved him down our throats all these months, after they supported Obama without regard for their supposed neutrality. If McCain wins, they can’t go back to pretending to be unbiased.
SoFla locals take note: Obama himself will be downtown today, at Bicentennial Park, from 6 to 8 today. No street closures are planned, but if you're working downtown, getting out is gonna be a bitch, and if you're going to the Heat game at 7:30, getting in is gonna be a bitch. I'm on Brickell and hopefully will miss all that nonsense, but I did do a little rain dance this morning anyways.

On this day in 1981
On Oct. 20, 1981, Sgt. Edward O'Grady, Patrolman Waverly Brown and Brinks guard Peter Paige were gunned down in Rockland County, N.Y. by heavily armed terrorists. The half dozen gunmen — all Americans — were members of the Weather Underground, a faction of the Students for a Democratic Society and the Black Liberation Army, formed from members of the Black Panther Party and the Republic of New Afrika.
Thanks to the bravery of the dead officers, the terrorists failed; but left behind were three widows and nine children, and like most victims, they have all been largely forgotten.
Let's be clear, very clear about something.
In the 1980s, the Weather Underground was still active in New York. The Brinks robbery occurred in October of 1981 in Nanuet, NY, 30 minutes from Columbia University, a few months after Obama enrolled at Columbia.
Barack Hussein Obama was not eight years old at that time, Barack Hussein Obama was 20 years old and a student at Columbia. William Ayers was also on-campus at Columbia at the time, working on a doctorate in education.
Funny that Obama and Ayers and Dorhn were all together at Columbia in the 1980’s, all of them there at the same time. Maybe they never met, maybe they did. We may never know the truth.
But, Barack Hussein Obama wouild have you believe that ten years later, when they became neighbors in Chicago, they never made that connection, or talked about those days?
Two of those involved in the Brinks robbery (Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert) were friends of Ayers and Dohrn. When Boudin and Gilbert received life sentences for their roles in the Brinks robbery, Ayers and Dohrn became legal guardians for Chesa Boudin, their son, then 14 months old. Ayers and Dohrn later adopted Chesa.
A quote from the grown up Chesa: "My parents were all dedicated to fighting U.S. imperialism around the world. I'm dedicated to the same thing."
Children learn what they live and Chesa certainly learned what he lived from the people he lived with, domestic terrorst William Ayers and Benadine Dohrn and he learned it during the years he lived on the same block as the Obamas.

Today's Obama Supporter
Ramon Watkins fires up the rhetoric:
Prophet Yahweh, Seer of Yahweh, Master UFO Caller says that on October 31, 2008, superhuman black men, from other planets, will appear in their spaceships and hover over his UFO Summoning School for three days as a sign that all Americans should vote for Obama as President.
What do you wanna bet ACORN will be there, ready to register them to vote?
"When asked why the spaceships will appear, the Prophet claims:
One of the many reasons why they will do this is to show support for Presidential candidate Barack Obama. This will be done so people will know that Obama is the best choice to lead America through the troublesome times to come.
"YAHWEH wants people to know that if Barak Obama does not become President, America will quickly be led into a war with Russia via Iran that will result in: a cut off of oil from the Persian Gulf, a great depression, stock market crash, runaway inflation, devaluation of the dollar, food shortages, riots, famine, race wars, out breaks of disease, etc."
Barack Obama, as President, would do more than any other president to keep these terrible things from happening and hold back the tremendous suffering that would come upon the American people.
YAHWEH, the Creator of all things, wants all Americans to vote for Obama, and put him in the office of the President of the United States, so he can immediately go to work against the terrible times to come.
He has a blog full of the same ranting and raving. No explanation as to why such super beings from G-d would need a spaceship in the first place. Still, I am of the feeling that, if these superhuman black men in spaceships don't show up, well, that should be taken as a sign that everyone should vote for McCain.
Here's his YouTube, I couldn't make it past .30 secs.:
Sigh.
Superhuman black men don't scare me none, sorry, call me crazy, call me racist, call me what you will, but I won't be voting for obama.

Today's Racist
Annette Kesting, the first black woman to be elected to the Cobb County (Georgia) Commission:
Cobb County Police said George Ann Mills told them that she is a high priestess in Blythewood, S.C., and Cobb Commissioner Annette Kesting wrote her $3,000 in bad checks.
A Sept. 26 police report says Mills claimed the commissioner wanted Woody Thompson, who defeated Kesting in an Aug. 5 Democratic primary runoff, to "catch cancer" or to "have a car accident."
Mills said Kesting gave her a $2,000 check for the ritual on Aug. 27 and postdated a $1,000 check for Sept. 11, and both checks bounced. The report said Kesting paid cash to make up for the first bounced check.
It's not the first time Kesting has been under fire.
Kesting had been invited to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in February to speak about African American history and and the theme “Strength to Love,” which is the title of a book by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
Instead, Kesting veered off topic. “I love my enemies. I pray every day with my enemies because I have to go up on the third floor and work with white women,” she said in the speech, claiming when she enters her office, she can feel "the evilness" surrounding her.
Care to take a guess at her political party affiliation?

Be afraid
Be very afraid.
You're wrong Michelle. Americans do want the whole pie, and most of us are willing to work for it, we don't expect the government to give it to us.
Beck makes a telling point, we get this from a woman who donated 1% of her income to charity? We get this from a woman marrie to a man who allows his brother, his own flesh and blood to live in a shack, trying to survive on a dollar a month? Remember back a couple of months, when obama told the world that his number one advisor was his wife? I do.
Hypocrisy aside, what exactly does it mean, this spreading the wealth, this redistributon of wealth? I don't think it means Michelle's wealth, no, it means your wealth and my wealth, and it means what we have worked for is taken away from us and given to others, others who sit on their ass all day and watch oprah while we go to work to improve their lives. Sadly, McCain is not much different, wanting to take my money and use it to buy them a home, and he wants me to pay for food and housing and healthcare for illegal immigrants, and pay for their college educations too.
I'm not just afraid, I'm terrified.

Because it's all about race
and we're all racists...
... over the last 10 years, about 200 black politicians have won positions once held by whites in legislatures and city halls in states like New Hampshire, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee.
In 2007, about 30 percent of the nation’s 622 black state legislators represented predominantly white districts, up from about 16 percent in 2001, according to data collected by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a research group based in Washington that has kept statistics on black elected officials for nearly 40 years.
Political scientists and local officials also point to an increase in the number of black mayors who represent predominantly white cities in places like Asheville, N.C., population 74,000, and Columbus, Ohio, population 748,000.
In the 1980s, few black state legislators represented predominantly white districts, said David A. Bositis, the senior political analyst at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies who conducted the most recent study of black state legislators.
By 2001, that number stood at 92, according to Tyson King-Meadows and Thomas F. Schaller, political scientists at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, who analyzed statistics from the joint center and other sources. In 2007, the figure was 189, Mr. Bositis said.
About 45 percent of the black state lawmakers represent communities that are 35 percent to 40 percent black in states like Georgia, Indiana and North Carolina. But roughly a quarter represent communities where blacks make up 20 percent or less of the population, including districts in Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan and Tennessee.
On my way home from work today, I was stopped at a light. Some guy pulled up next to me and called me a racist bitch. I figure it was because of the Palin/McCain sticker on my truck.
It's expected that 95% of black people will vote for Obama, but I'm the racist.

The Jewish Case Against Obama
Part I
Part II
Part III
oh... here's a little update:
PREPARE for a new America: That's the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
Now, isn't that special.

Carrot Juice is Murder
Vegans of the world... starve!
ZURICH -- For years, Swiss scientists have blithely created genetically modified rice, corn and apples. But did they ever stop to consider just how humiliating such experiments may be to plants?
That's a question they must now ask. Last spring, this small Alpine nation began mandating that geneticists conduct their research without trampling on a plant's dignity.
...
"Unfortunately, we have to take it seriously," Beat Keller, a molecular biologist at the University of Zurich. "It's one more constraint on doing genetic research."
Dr. Keller recently sought government permission to do a field trial of genetically modified wheat that has been bred to resist a fungus. He first had to debate the finer points of plant dignity with university ethicists. Then, in a written application to the government, he tried to explain why the planned trial wouldn't "disturb the vital functions or lifestyle" of the plants. He eventually got the green light.
...
The rule, based on a constitutional amendment, came into being after the Swiss Parliament asked a panel of philosophers, lawyers, geneticists and theologians to establish the meaning of flora's dignity.
"We couldn't start laughing and tell the government we're not going to do anything about it," says Markus Schefer, a member of the ethics panel and a professor of law at the University of Basel. "The constitution requires it."
In April, the team published a 22-page treatise on "the moral consideration of plants for their own sake." It stated that vegetation has an inherent value and that it is immoral to arbitrarily harm plants by, say, "decapitation of wildflowers at the roadside without rational reason."
On the question of genetic modification, most of the panel argued that the dignity of plants could be safeguarded "as long as their independence, i.e., reproductive ability and adaptive ability, are ensured." In other words: It's wrong to genetically alter a plant and render it sterile.
I know you're wondering whatever can this mean for the seedless grapes but never mind that... there are greater concerns that the Swiss have failed to address:
It also begs an obvious, if unrelated question: For a carrot, is there a more mortifying fate than being peeled, chopped and dropped into boiling water?
The answer to that question can be found here, set to music, for your listening pleasure:
But wait! There's more:
"Where does it stop?" asks Yves Poirier, a molecular biologist at the laboratory of plant biotechnology at the University of Lausanne. "Should we now defend the dignity of microbes and viruses?"
Seeking clarity, Dr. Poirier recently invited the head of the Swiss ethics panel to his university. In their public discussion, Dr. Poirier said the new rules are flawed because decades of traditional plant breeding had led to widely available sterile fruit, such as seedless grapes. Things took a surreal turn when it was disclosed that some panel members believe plants have feelings, Dr. Poirier says.
Of course plants have feelings! And so do dirt and rocks, so watch where you step lest you cause pain and humiliation to the ground below you.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go grind up some roasted abused coffee beans and then run them through some water that I have heated tortured over high heat until it steamed and bubbled in obvious agony. And then... well... then I'm going to drink it!

High Grade Structured Credit Enhanced Leverage Fund
A bit of prophetic british comedy from 2007:
Yep. That's the Magic of the Markets. And... interestingly, the National Debt Clock in Times Square has run out of digits...

It appears even technology cannot cope with the global financial crisis: the National Debt Clock in New York has run out of digits for the first time.
The electronic billboard hit its limit after US public debt rose above the $10 trillion mark for the first time on September 30.
As a temporary fix the dollar sign has been switched to a figure--the '1' in $10 trillion. The clock is currently marking the US federal government’s national debt at about $10.2 trillion.
The clock, located in Times Square in New York, shows the amount of money owed by the US government. It was created by the late Manhattan real estate developer Seymour Durst, who put the sign up in 1989 to call attention to what was then a $2.7 trillion debt.
We have indeed mortgaged our future so that unemployed black men can own their homes.

"Why does the mainstream media concentrate exclusively on the failings of the right while completely ignoring the failings of the left?" "Why does the mainstream media worship at the temple of Barack Obama while brutally savaging Sarah Palin?"
...
Conservatives have to realize one simple truth: the Big Media is not the enemy's ally who can be won over; it is the enemy itself. The U.S. Big Media is every bit the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party's left wing as Dr. Goebbels' organization was the propaganda arm of the Nazi regime.
Attempts to shame the Big Media into objectivity will go nowhere, it will not be moved by gentle rebukes and reminders of the precepts supposedly taught at journalism schools. The Big Media's vitriolic campaign to vilify and destroy Sarah Palin, unprecedented in its sheer viciousness, is not primarily driven by the elite's perception of her as an alien life form (although there is that, too), but by the plain fact that she endangers the prospects of their idol, Obama, and hence has to be removed by any means necessary. It's that simple...
I gave up TV many years ago. I used to get the Miami Herald delivered every day, do the crossword puzzle, and use the rest to line the bird cage, but I gave that up too. One of the local rags, the Miami New Times, not only fits the bottom of the cage better, it's free. Yesterday, when I was at Dolphin Stadium watching my Canes battle the hated Noles (Miami lost by 2 points), some bozo tried to sell me a Herald subscription, offering a free Canes blanket as incentive. I told him, sorry, not interested in a biased liberal rag. He looked at me like I was nuts.
Every day, bloggers and news forums claim that the Main Street Media is dying, they call it "The Dinosaur Media," and they may be right. The skewered reporting has never been more obvious and every day, another couple-few average Joes drop their subscription. Circulation is down, way dow. Every day another couple-few of their employees hit the unemployment lines, and there have been days when they hit those lines in the hundreds.
CNN reports that one of McCain's aides worked for a time at Fannie Mae, but says nothing about Obama aide and advisor Franklin Raines resigning in shame from his position as CEO of Frannie, says nothinhg about the $90 million he stole or the books he cooked to get that $90 million. You won't read about the battles that raged for years in Congress, where the democrats blocked each and every attempt by the republicans to rein in Fannie and Freddie. You won't read about the lawsuit Obama filed to force banks to make risky loans to unqualified people.
In August, none of them reported that the Obama campaign was caught misidentifying an $800,000 payment it had made to an ACORN subsidiary for "election services." They don't say much about ACORN at all, and if they mention it, they never mention that the "left-wing "community organizing" group has seen its employees frequently convicted of voter registration fraud" and that "this year its employees are under active investigation in several states." If they mentioned any of that, they might have to mention that "Barack Obama used to be a lawyer and top trainer for the group."
You won't read much about Obama's former boss, William Ayers, the home grown terrorist who employed him as a "community organizer" and who launched Obama's political career. You won't read about the millions and millions of dollars in donations Obama received from folks with names like NXBTP, who are employed by companies named "we love you."
What you will read about is the prediction that if racist America doesn't vote for the black man, there will be riots in the street.
A few years ago, we used to joke about the nonsense you found on the internet, saying "it must be true, I read it on the internet." Today, the big joke is, "it must be true, I read it in the newspaper."
Nonetheless, fools abound. Last week, a lawyer I work with told me that if McCain was elected, he would get all of those wonderful tax breaks that the rich were gonna get, but he was willing to give those up for the benefit of the country and he was going to vote for Obama because "Obama was going to straighten out this country." A week or so before, he was commenting on Palin, and said "if that little girl could just put a complete sentence together..."
Is America really that dumb? The Obama campaign and the media is counting on it.
As I have said many times, I despise McCain for the barking moonbat looney liberal that he is. The only areas we agree on are the war, guns and babies.
McCain has missed every opportunity to get the information out that the media supresses and as a result, he has done so poorly lately that there has been talk that he might be throwing the election. The very idea is asinine to me.
Of course McCain wants to be president. I'm sure he thinks his strategy for this campaign is brilliant, and that it will succeed. Remember during the primaries when he was out of money and hung in there? I'm sure he thinks the drop in the polls and in support is just a blip like that.
Those who are shocked what he's doing, or not doing, seem to have forgotten that McCain's political philosophy has always been what it is, his maverick reputation comes solely from being a republican who works with liberals and democrats to help them achieve their political goals. And that's because their goals are his goals. McCain has always been more of a democrat than a republican, more of a liberal than a conservative. Politically, he is aligned with no one and friends with everyone. He is the ultimate kumbaya candidate.
I am not surprised at his unwillingness to point the finger at his liberal friends and make a stand against them on the other side of the aisle, I'm pissed off, but not surprised. McCain has said many times that he would rather lose this election then compromise himself to win, here is the evidence that he means it. McCain won't draw a line and stand on one side of it, not when it means that his friends are on the other side. He has always been this way.
But this will backfire, it is backfiring. Why? Because most people stand on one side of the aisle or the other, most people have drawn the line. He is allowing his friends to paint the republicans as guilty, and his tunnel vision does not allow him to see that the perception is that he is republican, and therefore, he is guilty as well.
I don't want to vote for McCain, even with Palin on the ticket, I don't want to vote for him, and if weren't for the war, I wouldn't, in fact, if it weren't for the war, I wouldn't vote in this election at all. I trust him to fight our enemies abroad, but I don't expect him to fight our enemies at home, after all, our enemies at home are his friends. Outside of fighting the war, I don't trust him to do the right thing for this country.
I felt the same way when I slumped into the polls and voted a party line ticket in 2006, I forced myself to go. I think about all the people who felt as I did, the ones who stayed home rather than do what I did, and I think there is a very real possibility that they will do the same thing this November.
Maybe the bigot vote will win this election for him. But I am not confident of that and what do we get if it does? A mealy mouthed pretend republican in the White House who basically wants all of the same things as the looney liberals we tried to keep out. Oh joy!
Wanna bet that when push comes to shove, he caves on drilling for oil? Remember, he was against it before he was for it, and he was against tax cuts before he was for them too, If he wins the White House, well, call me crazy, but let's just say I don't trust his campaign promises.
Along with his liberal buddies in the Senate, he's also for the 50 cent per gallon carbon tax on gas, and for giving amnesty to the criminal horde, along with social security, free food and housing and free healthcare. And, along with his liberal buddies in the Senate, he wants to close gitmo and put those scumbags into our prison system, giving hardened, experienced terrorists a captive audience of angry black men to recruit to jihad.
If Obama wins, he will destroy this country from the inside out, with his liberal policies, and if McCain wins, he will destroy this country from the inside out, with his liberal policies. America is screwed. No matter who wins in November, we are screwed.
So. What the heck. In the meantime, how about we give a resounding chorus of kumbaya!
