Look for the Union Label
It used to be a source of pride. But now, when you find it, you'll think of the billion dollar bailout you're paying for, and you'll close your eyes for a minute, and picture the people working behind the scenes, the people you're paying to bring you that product. People like Rod Soroka and Jim Mozelewskli, who earn six figures by racking up thousands of hours of overtime a year at the Ford plant where they work, except... they ain't working all them hours, nope, not at all, in fact, they were caught on tape fudging their time sheets and stealing hours.
According to his time sheets, Rod Soroka works 10 hour days, every day. Except, it appears that good old Rod actually works only about four hours a day, he was caught on film arriving at home before noon, every day they watched him. He was caught on tape pulling into the driveway, day after day, every day and when asked about it, all he had to say was, get off my property.
Jim Mozelewski? His time sheet says he works twelve hours a day and it says he works weekends too. According to his time sheets, Jim manages to rack up overtime hours while simultaneously participating in, and winning, at least one bowling championship. Yup. Jim's timesheet says he was working at the plant on the same day and at the same time he was at the bowling alley where he rolled his way to first place in a bowling tournament. That Jim Mozelewsk is an amazing guy, he also has the ability to shop for beer and whatnot at the local party stores on the same day and at the same time that his time sheets show him working at the plant. He can also be at home, asleep in bed when his time sheets show him working at the plant. Amazing!
And now, Rob and Jim, and the millions of union workers like them are no longer just stealing hours from Ford, and GM and Chrysler anymore, nope. Now they get to steal hours from you and me. So, it's the day after Christmas, and all union workers actually have the entire day off with pay, because it's in their contract. As for me, well, I don't have the day off, so I'll be heading off into work in a few minutes, to earn my salary, so I can help keep Rob and Jim in beer and bowling balls.
Is this a great country or what?
