Quote of the day

concerns the Assault Weapon Ban and comes from Walls of the City:

Just because one of our neighboring nations cannot be bothered to keep their criminal elements in check, our Attorney General and President are proposing limiting the rights of our own law-abiding citizens. Just be cause our government, and the government of that neighboring nation, cannot be bothered to secure the border between our two nations, our Attorney General and President are proposing abridging the rights of our own law-abiding citizens. Just because criminals (in both countries) are doing what criminals do, and breaking the various laws of those countries, our Attorney General and President are proposing infringing on the rights of our own law-abiding citizens.

As hard as I try, I simply cannot get my mind around it. When you listen to the words of AG Holder on the reasoning behind it:

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum."

President Obama is doing it for Mexico? He is infringing on our rights to have a positive impact in Mexico? What country is Obama president of? Gee whiz, I thought Obama was elected President of the United States of America, not Mexico. Why the hell would the President of the United States restrict the rights of Americans in order to benefit another country? Whose side is he on anyways?

Here's a thought President Obama. Think about who is carrying those guns across the border in the first place. They are criminals President Obama, who broke our laws sneaking into this country and once here, they are the ones who break the guns laws we already have. It's time to close the border President Obama, and enforce our immigration laws. Get those criminals out of here and back to Mexico where they belong. Make it impossible for illegals to live here, and work here. Make it impossible for them to find housing, food, medical care, and schooling for their children. Fine their employers, confiscate the properties from people who rent to them. Guess what? They will leave. If they are found guilty of a crime, do not jail them, deport them. According to your gloom and doom speeches, unemployment is up and it's going to get worse, you keep saying Americans are desperate for work, well then, President Obama, why not let Americans do the jobs these parasites are doing now. It's time to take care of our own President Obama, and to let Mexico take care of their own.

And... for those of you who look for the good in the bad, well, as Walls of the City points out, the dems on the hill are likely having a few sleepless nights over this, after all, they lost a lot of seats in 1994 over the AWB and mid-term elections will be here before we know it. No wonder Nancy Pelosi is dead set against the Ban. I guess she's not quite as dumb as rocks after all.

I recommend you read the rest of the post at Walls of the City. There's a lot of good info and some excellent points made. I found him via What Bubba Knows, another most excellent site that I'm happy to recommend.

Thanks for the inclusion as your quote of the day!

I really do not comprehend the reasoning behind this newly-proposed Assault Weapon Ban either - its predecessor had no demonstrable effect upon crime in America, so how can our Attorney General be so convinced that it will make a whit of difference in Mexico? Furthermore, why is it our problem?

And Nancy Pelosi standing up against it is comforting, on some level, but on another level one has to realize that she is primarily doing it for one (or both) of two reasons: she and our new President have been butting heads since before he was inaugurated, and this is probably just an extension of that; and she was not "consulted" before Holder spoke about the ban, and is probably a little miffed at that. I guess there are worse reasons to oppose the ban, but neither of those are good ones.

Anywise, thanks again!

Mexico is just an excuse Linda, an excuse to begin the process of taking our guns.

Personally, I think the only thing Nancy is worried about is what a ban will do to her majority at the mid term.

And at the rate Americans are buying arms, it looks like she better worry.

What a tool.
The Messiah and his Holder (what exactly does he hold?) are not supposed to answer to commoners! They are Black and you are a racist for asking these questions.

Vote Criminal Victim Party! Or else...

Mexico is just a lame ruse!!! This is not new, John F. Kennedy had signed the Disarmament Law: Public Law 87-297 in '61, he didn't get to implement it due to 'Kuber', Khrushchev, Vietnam and Lee Harvey Oswald. Of course under this tin foil hat are base closures, both pogroms were delayed by world events, seems we can't control, other Communists or Muslims, the latest delay by the attack on the twin towers but nevertheless on track under Clinton (Reno, Ruby Ridge,Waco and Gonzales) and now being expedited by Holder under Obama. Ever wonder where we'd be if Bush didn't get stuck with 9-11? NAU, disarmed and using the 'Amero'. Pass the Kool-aid, pony up for Hamas, the bitch is funding terrorism.

"Why the hell would the President of the United States restrict the rights of Americans in order to benefit another country? Whose side is he on anyways?"

He is on the side of control. Our betters will take care of us, and we must have no way to assert ourselves. Much as Newspeak in "1984" was designed to make it impossible to even think bad thoughts, the self-proclaimed political elites are trying to make it impossible for us to ever be able to oppose them or slow them down in their efforts to increase control.

We're dealing with people who will institute a $2 Global Warming Carbon tax on airport parking (MASS Libs), apropos of ... WTF? This is useless. Knife fight in the desert, us/them. Winner takes all.

"Whose side is he on anyways?"

It isn't the side of the US Constitution, that's for sure. But you already know that. He's on the side of muslim terrorists who want to kill every last Jew. He's on the side of people who want to establish a one-world socialist order govenred by elites and served by us peasants. He's out to destroy the US economy and America as we know it. He must disarm us to keep from having a revolt.

Molon labe!
