Today's Revolting Racist

is Florida Senate Democratic Leader Al Lawson:

Well now, brotha, what a lovely race-based sentiment that is. Here's hoping he ends up on the unemployment line, we don't need racists in the Florida Senate or in Congress.

Pandemic?

I despise conspiracies, and I hate to see people panic. One of the girls I work with had the flu a few years back, and she was sick, very sick, and she's terrified that she's going to catch this swine flu and be really really sick all over again. She has a trip planned to New York next month, and she's afraid. Not that she thinks she's going to die from the flu, no, but she keeps re-living the horror of how sick she was before. But she's not talking about cancelling trip, she's talking about getting masks. Why? Because of those boys.

I keep thinking about those boys at that prep school. They were in Cancun and that's where they caught the flu, in Cancun. Except, there has been no swine flu outbreak in Cancun. That's right.

In fact, just the opposite has been reported:

So. What the heck is going on?

As I said, I despise conspiracies, but it troubles me that the only connection Cancun has to the swine flu is 12 school kids from New York who were in Cancun and now have swine flu. Yes, it troubles me that, as of this morning, no one had swine flu in Cancun, no one thought they had swine flu in Cancun, and other than 12 school kids in New York, no one thought they caught swine flu in Cancun. And, as of this morning, I could find nothing else anywhere on the internet about Cancun and swine flu except claims that there is no flu in Cancun, swine or otherwise.

So. Let's see. If Cancun is swine flu free, then, I guess the swine flu was just in town for the weekend, kinda like the boys were, and seeing how the boys were the only ones who got swine flu in Cancun, then... maybe swine flu was only in their hotel room, eh? And seeing how the hotel staff, every other tourist and the rest of the locals miraculously escaped getting swine flu while it was in Cancun not only during that weekend, but since then too, well, I guess the swine flu must have left town the same time the boys did.

Yup. That would make perfect sense, that sounds like how the flu works to me, does that make sense to you? Sure it does. It makes perfect sense. Whew. I knew if I thought about it long enough and hard enough, a logical explanation would come to mind. It's an amazing set of circumstances, yes, but obvoiusly, there is no conspiracy. Whew. Boy, this is some nasty, smart and deviously sneaky flu we are dealing with, huh? I guess I should go ahead and panic like everyone else. Yeah, I guess so.

Well, okay then. I will now return you to your regular scheduled pandemic. Feel free to panic at will.

What is America is thinking about?

The New York Post has an article up, it seems that no less than 106 blank, pre-stamped NY birth certificates have gone missing form the NY Dept. of Health. The speculation is that they were likely stolen by an employee and sold to an illegal immigration identification ring, or perhaps even to - gasp - terrorists:

On March 12, an employee discovered that 106 certificates with the agency's stamp on them were missing from the department's offices at 125 Worth St. near City Hall, sources said.

It was the first time in 10 years that blank birth certificates have been stolen from the department.

The NYPD and the city's Department of Investigation are investigating.

"It's like hitting the Lotto for a terrorist," one investigator said.

"Forged documents are one of the primary concerns of Homeland Security. After you get that birth certificate, you can get any document you want. This is extremely serious."

The missing documents were in a box of blank certificates that was stacked on other similar boxes.

The employee noticed they were missing because there was a break in the numbers on the certificates.

The department notified the Department of Investigation and the NYPD. It also alerted other agencies who deal with vital records.

Investigators believe the theft was carried out by someone who has access to the offices, probably an employee.

They are looking to see if credit card information submitted by people who orders birth certificate copies has been compromised.

Investigators suspect the thief might have sold the blank certificates to a ring that provides phony identifies for illegal aliens.

They also theorize the certificates could be used in identity theft -- or the in the most extreme case, they could have been sold to terrorists.

The Post's headline reads "Certifiable Disaster" but I don't understand why, after all, didn't the head of our very own DHS recently state that being an illegal immigrant is not a criminal act? And, since the same head of DHS has downgraded terrorists acts to man made disasters, there can be no terrorists anymore, so what's the fuss? What certifiable disaster? Sheesh. I expect Janet will denounce the NY Post for this headline any minute now, who knows, maybe the chief headline writer for the Post will be fired by the Pentagon.

But, I digress. What I really wanted to talk about was what the commentors to the article were talking about:

See that Janet, you did a good job. Looks like at least some Americans are not as concerned about illegal immigrants and terrorists anymore, or anyways, at least not as much as they are about... well, other things, even if those other things aren't veterans and patriots. In fact, I didn't see right wing extremists mentioned once. Although, along with these comments, I did see the democrats mentioned quite a few times.

We lost another WWII Vet today

I've always loved Bea Arthur. She passed away early this morning, cancer. She will be missed.

During World War II Bea volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps, becoming one of its first female recruits.

Thank you Bea, for everything. Rest in Peace.

Quote of the Day

Excerpt from "Security Before Politics" by Porter J. Goss, director of the CIA from September 2004 to May 2006 and chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 1997 to 2004:

The suggestion that we are safer now because information about interrogation techniques is in the public domain conjures up images of unicorns and fairy dust. We have given our enemy invaluable information about the rules by which we operate. The terrorists captured by the CIA perfected the act of beheading innocents using dull knives. Khalid Sheik Mohammed boasted of the tactic of placing explosives high enough in a building to ensure that innocents trapped above would die if they tried to escape through windows. There is simply no comparison between our professionalism and their brutality.

Our enemies do not subscribe to the rules of the Marquis of Queensbury. "Name, rank and serial number" does not apply to non-state actors but is, regrettably, the only question this administration wants us to ask. Instead of taking risks, our intelligence officers will soon resort to wordsmithing cables to headquarters while opportunities to neutralize brutal radicals are lost.

The days of fortress America are gone. We are the world's superpower. We can sit on our hands or we can become engaged to improve global human conditions. The bottom line is that we cannot succeed unless we have good intelligence. Trading security for partisan political popularity will ensure that our secrets are not secret and that our intelligence is destined to fail us.

You ask yourself whose side he's on.

I don't have to ask. I've always known.

US wants Iran hostage suit tossed out

The Obama administration has asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit against Iran filed by Americans held hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran 30 years ago.

The request comes in a $6.6 billion class-action lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Washington. Fifty-two American diplomats and military officials were held captive for more than a year at the end of Jimmy Carter's presidency by a group of Islamist students who supported the Iranian revolution.

The hostages were released on Jan. 20, 1981, just minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the new president.

In court papers filed Tuesday night without any announcement, the Justice Department argued that the agreement to release the hostages, known as the Algiers Accords, precluded lawsuits against Iran.

The hostages argue that Iran supported their confinement and abuse, with visits from government officials, stays in government prisons and buildings and threats of trial in Iranian courts. The lawsuit says current Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was one of their interrogators.

The lawsuit says the hostages were tortured, beaten sometimes until they lost consciousness and kept in fear of their lives, at times even lined up in front of marksmen locking their guns. It says they were imprisoned without adequate food, clothing or medical care, blindfolded with their hands tied, interrogated for hours at a time and kept in isolation for months at a time.

There is no rational reason for the President of the United States to get involved in this lawsuit, and to take such an action against American citizens to protect Ahmadinijad. It's a damn outrage, and even more than an outrage, make no mistake, it is a betrayal of American citizens by the President of the United States of America.

The media is obviously covering 0bama's tracks instead of covering this story. CNN had a quickie on it, glossed over with no details, and there was this AP blurb in the Las Vegas Sun, but if it was carried by any major news outlet, I couldn't find it and while I was looking, I found that Newsbusters was looking too and they couldn't find the story covered anywhere either. There are no questions being asked, no "journalists" doing any journalism on this.

If the media has its way, the average American will never know of this betrayal of its citizens by the same man who, less than a hundred days ago, took a vow to protect them and this country.

It didn't take long for 0bama to show us what his priorities are, did it?

So, the only real question is, whose side are you on? And once you've answered that, what are you gonna do?

Well, it's interesting to note that the latest Rasmussen poll reflects that despite the mainstream media's best efforts to put a happy face on the nightmare of this administration, "For the first time since Barack Obama was elected president last November, more than half of U.S. voters (53%) say it is at least somewhat likely that the next occupant of the White House will be a Republican. Thirty-one percent (31%) say it is Very Likely." Buyer's remorse from this election is a fact of life here in the good old USA.

So, being active in the mid-term elections is the most important thing you can do for this country, and it's something you can do right now. The seats in your state are what you should be concentrating on right now, it's time to get rid of the bastards that can't be bothered with reading a bill, or standing up for their principles or who have been sitting in their seats so long they've forgotten that we put them there to do our will.

Never mind who will be the next president, that comes later. Mid-terms are first, and if we're going to stop 0bama from destroying this country, the mid-term election is how we're gonna do it.

Ahem. Listen up!

A few selected quotes from More Guns, Less Violent Crime as the Bad Guys Run or Die, By Ted Nugent

Water, water, everywhere water. Know it, embrace it, manage it, or drown. Same goes for cars, trucks, chainsaws, knives, crowbars, blowtorches, and guns. Based on the inept, clumsy, irresponsible failure of brain-dead, uncoordinated numbnuts, I will not be denied the pragmatic, functional utility of anything.

I will not drown, nor will I drink and drive, chainsaw-massacre anyone, stumble, slice, burn, or shoot myself, nor will I ever hold up a bank. So the best advice would be to think, improvise, adapt, and overcome, man up, but by all means, leave me the hell alone. You don't ban electric guitars just because someone may have a lapse in logic, goodwill, and decency and spontaneously break out into country and western music. The vast majority of sensible people will use electric guitars as God intended and whip out good, sexy rock-n-roll licks.

I need my water, cars, trucks, chainsaws, knives, crowbars, blowtorches, and guns. I have mastered them all; they are all wonderful ingredients for my American Dream of rugged individualism, declared independence, and self-sufficiency. They all serve me well, and I am not giving any of them up. Ever.

The masses must never be controlled for the sake of the lunatic fringe. Remember "Don't Tread on Me"? Don't.

Read the rest. Just gotta love the Nuge.

Today's Zionist Conspiracy

is none other than.... the Somali Pirates of the Red Sea!

Analysts are openly accusing Israel of sponsoring piracy off Somalia waters with the aim of transforming Red Sea into a Jewish lake. The immediate objective of USA, Israel and European countries is to prevent the inflow of arms to Islamist Al-Shabab that is on the verge of snatching power in Somalia and to steal Arab oil.

Of course the only "analyst" I could find openly making this ridiculous accusation is Asif Haroon Raja, the writer of this article titled "Rise of Islamists, and Sea-Piracy in Somalia." He is obviously an adherent to the "baffle them with bullshit" style of writing as it is used liberally throughout the article, but I found the concept of turning the Red Sea into a "Jewish Lake" very funny. Later, he manages to turn around and justify Israel's takeover quite neatly and nicely, leaving me to wonder if perhaps he might be Jewish.

I know this, Jewish or not, when it comes to pirates, the guy is almost as smart as Susie Madrak of Crooks and Liars, she would have us believe that "in the big picture, the Somali pirates are acting in self-defense."

Here it is folks

Along with updating the definition of terrorist to include conservatives, republicans, veterans and patriots like our founding fathers, you'll be happy to know that DHS has updated its color coded threat level chart to warn you of other impending threats:

Remember, when the threat is only orange, sticking your fingers in your ears while saying "O-Bam-Ma" should be enough to protect you, but a full red warning will require the added protection of a tin foil hat and the chanting of bush is the anti-christ, just to be sure. Don't forget to rock side to side while chanting, the movement confuses the demon bushies and it's harder for them to lock a signal ray on moving object. If you can, find a moslem to hide behind. They are immune from the bushie signal ray, we don't know why but it has something to do with the saudi oil thing.

Thanks to Van Helsing at Moonbattery for the tip.

Oh Really?

In case you haven't heard:

House Democrat Leaders: Tea Partiers Are Racist, Nazi, Gun Nuts

If the Obama administration has taken flak for suggesting that conservative groups might be home to domestic terrorists, it looks like some House Democrat leaders are willing to go even further:

But in an interview on Fox TV in San Francisco, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) chalked up the GOP grass-roots effort as “AstroTurf.”

“This initiative is funded by the high end; we call it AstroTurf, it's not really a grass-roots movement. It's AstroTurf by some of the wealthiest people in America to keep the focus on tax cuts for the rich instead of for the great middle class,” Pelosi said.

Other House Democratic leaders took a different tack: One senior aide has been circulating a document to the media that debunks the effort as one driven by corporate lobbyists and attended by neo-Nazis...

In addition, the tea parties are “not really all about average citizens,” the document continues, saying neo-Nazis, militias, secessionists and racists are attending them. The tea parties are also not peaceful, since reporters in Cincinnati had to seek “police protection” during one of the events, it states.

The suggestions that these tea parties are driven by DC-based groups is laughable; Liz Mair takes a critical look and concludes the charge is baseless. Besides the points that Mair makes, it's worth noting that while there have been dozens of tea parties, few have featured conservative candidates or representatives of DC think tanks and lobbying groups.

As far as the charge that these rallies are composed of Nazis and terrorists, that's hard to reconcile with the pictures of participants. There are too many young children and grandparents. Further, even a strong Obama supporter like Susan Roesgen didn't turn up any violent types at the Chicago Tea Party, despite her best attempt to provoke a strong reaction.

Darn rght that's hard to reconcile with the pictures of participants, but who are gonna believe, your lying eyes or a bunch of lying politicians?

It occurs to me

as I am sure it has occured to you, that in the very likely event that there is an islamist terrorist attack on American soil, the release of this DHS report will allow the government to blame the attack on rightwing extremists.

That said, the report is an outrage and an insult to our intelligence. To link the white supremist neo-nazi movement and the recent shooting sprees perpetuated by criminals and psychos with your average conservative republican is ridiculous.

But even more so, it is reprehensible to denigrate, demean, insult and demonize our returning active military and veterans in the way that this report does. There is not one shred of evidence presented to substantiate such allegations and no truth to the accusations, they are obviously made for political reasons alone, and for making those accusations, Janet Napolitano and everyone connected with that report should immediately and publically apologize for making them.

As David K. Rehbein of the American Legion so wisely points out to Secretary Janet Napolitano:

The report states, without any statistical evidence, “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

The American Legion is well aware and horrified at the pain inflicted during the Oklahoma City bombing, but Timothy McVeigh was only one of more than 42 million veterans who have worn this nation’s uniform during wartime. To continue to use McVeigh as an example of the stereotypical “disgruntled military veteran” is as unfair as using Osama bin Laden as the sole example of Islam.

Your report states that “Rightwing extremists were concerned during the 1990s with the perception that illegal immigrants were taking away American jobs through their willingness to work at significantly lower wages.” Secretary Napolitano, this is more than a perception to those who have lost their job. Would you categorize union members as “Right Wing extremists”?

It would appear that Ms. Napolitano has chosen to ignore the fact that the majority of violence in this country has come from the left, in the name of change, most recently, just last night at UNC, a speech by Tom Tancredo decended in violence and mayhem as a group of angry leftists decided to crash the event. The police broke out the pepper spray and the tasers, although they weren't used, and no one was arrested, despite threats of physical violence and warnings from the leftists to the event attendees that "we will fight, we know where you sleep at night!"

Why do I get the feeling that Janet's next report will feature these violent leftists as right wing extremists as well.

It doesn't appear that facts are going to matter all that much going into the future and so, my fellow right wing extremists, the joke is on us. We are about to be the patsy.

I think I'll move to Texas.

They tried. Oh yes, they tried.

Jameel at The Muqata reports...

Hamas successfully smuggled anti-aircraft Stinger missiles into Gaza, and they were given the order by Hamas commanders to shoot down IAF Apache helicopters during the past IDF "Cast Lead" offensive.

But it didn't work out.

The US manufactured Stinger anti-aircraft rockets have built in sensors that prevent firing upon friendly aircraft...Apache helicopters included.

"We were disappointed by them, and they were found to have been useless," a Hamas source said.

la la la....

There's more over at The Muqata.

What to do when your "scoop" turns out to be full of shit

Imagine if you were a blogger and you get this great "insider" to give you all this "insider" information on mortgage fraud and your "insider" manages to tie all that mortgage fraud to illegal immigration and even claims congress ignored her complaints and then the insider lets you post all that juicy information provided you keep the source anonymous! Ooooo... fame and fortune coming your way.

And then along comes some damned LindaSoG person and blows the credibility of your "insider" all to hell. What do you do? Why, you treat her just like those damned congress critters were supposed to have treated your insider, you ignore her, you plug your ears, cover your eyes and you cover your reader's eyes too, that's right, you delete her comment, of course! At least, that's what you do if you happen to be Dave Gibson of the Norfolk Crime Examiner.

You see, I had a little problem with this bit of disinformation from Dave's insider:

Specifically, the problem is the statement:

"The retiree was left with ruined credit, $3.5 million in loans and trouble with the IRS."

Put plainly, that statement is nothing but a pile of happy horseshit. If you are the victim of identify theft in a mortgage fraud case, you make a police report. An investigation is opened, and if identity theft is proven, you are not left holding the bag for the mortgage, your credit is not ruined, and you are not in trouble with the IRS.

I live in Florida. I work for a law firm. We do title litigation, and an awful lot of mortgage fraud cases where homes were purchased using stolen identities. The quicker you prove it, the better for the lender, they want to foreclose as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

When I read Dave's "insider" story, I commented that I was surprised that his "insider" would make such an erroneous statement when such an "insider" would know such a statement was false, except for the obvious reason that it was inflammatory and would upset the average joe and make for a better blog post. I guess Dave didn't like that, because he deleted my comment right away. No debate, no discussion, oh no. He's just deleted my comment, but not before someone else saw it:

Sorry dude. But you're wrong. As I said, if you're the victim, you make a police report, an investigation is opened, and if it isn't you, it gets cleared up rather quickly. The house is foreclosed, life goes on. It's a pain in the ass, but not a huge pain in the ass. Despite what Dave's "insider" claims, if you're the victim, you don't get stuck with the loan, you don't get your credit ruined and the IRS doesn't come after you. That's just plain happy horseshit.

And... Dave... you might want to clean up MGM's comment. It looks a little sloppy being there now that you've deleted mine.

so....

how long do you think it will take Dave to delete that?

Across the pond

it appears the wonder and awe of hopey changey has worn off, and reality has set in:

Then came the dramatic bit, the authentic West Wing script, with the President wakened in the middle of the night in Prague to be told that Kim Jong-il had just launched a Taepodong-2 missile. America had Aegis destroyers tracking the missile and could have shot it down. But Uncle Sam had a sterner reprisal in store for l'il ole Kim (as Dame Edna might call him): a multi-megaton strike of Obama hot air.

"Rules must be binding," declared Obama, referring to the fact that Kim had just breached UN Resolutions 1695 and 1718. "Violations must be punished." (Sounds ominous.) "Words must mean something." (Why, Barack? They never did before, for you - as a cursory glance at your many speeches will show.)

President Pantywaist is hopping mad and he has a strategy to cut Kim down to size: he is going to slice $1.4bn off America's missile defence programme, presumably on the calculation that Kim would feel it unsporting to hit a sitting duck, so that will spoil his fun.

Watch out, France and Co, there is a new surrender monkey on the block and, over the next four years, he will spectacularly sell out the interests of the West with every kind of liberal-delusionist initiative on nuclear disarmament and sitting down to negotiate with any power freak who wants to buy time to get a good ICBM fix on San Francisco, or wherever. If you thought the world was a tad unsafe with Dubya around, just wait until President Pantywaist gets into his stride.

President Pantywaist. It would be funny if it weren't so damn true.

Don't miss the comments. 45govt... wow!

UPDATE: buried in the comments, was a link to another bit of brit commentary which made a few good points about 0bama's worthless trip, but buried within all that was a few paragraphs about our troops, which needed only a tad of polish to shine like gold...

The United States have never produced a finer generation of Marines, soldiers, airmen and sailors than those deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan today. For the most part, they are volunteers who have freely joined the armed forces of their country at a time of war, knowing full well they could be killed or maimed in the line of duty.

Their patriotism, their selflessness, their sense of honour -- these are all beyond any description I am capable of. Their willingness to risk life and limb in their country's service makes Europe's artful and devious refusal to take a substantive place in the line of battle all the more shameful.

The author's name is Kevin Myers, and he said that well, didn't he?

You can read the rest of what he wrote about 0bama here, if you like.

That's your President's ass sticking up while he bows down in supplication to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Yeah. That's right. 0bamessiah bowed down, as President of the United States of America, he bowed down before that tinpot dictator of a moslem cesspool.
