We lost another WWII Vet today

I've always loved Bea Arthur. She passed away early this morning, cancer. She will be missed.

During World War II Bea volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps, becoming one of its first female recruits.

Thank you Bea, for everything. Rest in Peace.

Godspeed Bea Arthur!
I remember her actually singing on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC, in some 20th
century opera! What talent!! And the role included chutzpah & kibitzing with the conductor!
I enjoyed finding out about her volunteering for the Marine Corps in WWII! Only the best & toughest for her! She was a true 'culture bearer' in the Pursigian sense! Thanks for posting this!
