I've got friends in low places

This week, two South Carolina Republican Senators put their heads together and wrote a little op-ed in defense of Senator Jim DeMint for his practice of avoiding earmarks, a practice you would think needs no defense. But unfortunately, they didn't exactly express themselves well, and it backfired, with TMP Livewire running the story like this:

Two SC GOP-ers: DeMint 'Is Watching Our Nation's Pennies' -- Just Like A Wealthy Jew

Two Republican party chairmen from South Carolina, in trying to defend Sen. Jim DeMint's (R-SC) practice of not using earmarks, said DeMint "is watching our nation's pennies," just like "the Jews who are wealthy."

Edwin O. Merwin and James S. Ulmer, chairs of the Bamberg County Republican Party and the Orangeburg County Republican Party, respectively, wrote an op-ed in the Times and Democrat this Sunday.

"There is a saying that the Jews who are wealthy got that way not by watching dollars, but instead by taking care of the pennies and the dollars taking care of themselves," they wrote. "By not using earmarks to fund projects for South Carolina and instead using actual bills, DeMint is watching our nation's pennies and trying to preserve our country's wealth and our economy's viability to give all an opportunity to succeed."

Lovely.

One has to wonder why and how two supposedly intelligent men would and could put their heads together and manage to come up with such a ridiculous and inflammatory way of expressing themselves. It's hard to believe that they are so ignorant of this Country's roots and traditions to be completely unaware that what are they speaking of is an old American proverb based on an even older English proverb "Look after the pence and the pounds will take care of themselves."

No, I suppose it's easier to fall back on a stereotype, after all, everyone knows how them Jews pinch pennies. It's a stereotype everyone can understand and relate to, or at least, one must assume that's what they expected when they wrote those words, and all the apologies in the world are not going to change that.

TMP Livewire wrote the perfect headline. Oooo lookie at those evil republicans, hating on them Jews. Yeah. Right. It's not quite a hymietown moment though, is it? And it is rather mild when you consider the remarks attributed to Hillary Clinton, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, and of course, Cynthia McKinney, who praised Hitler.

Still, the remarks are useful to the democrats and their agenda, and sadly they will keep some Jews voting democrat despite the left's well known prejudice against Jews and all things Jewish, including Israel. So these two republican bozos manage to give the democrats a few more talking points about ignorant Jew hating southern republicans, just when democrats need them the most.

Reality is, no matter what propaganda J Street is putting out, Jews are falling off the democrat bandwagon and the last thing we need right now are these two nitwits out of SC running their mouths without putting their brain into gear. So I called them up and told them so, and I used my maiden name. I can just hear their southern accents trying to duplicate that!

Today, when I received an email from a friend with a link to this stupid article by TMP with the question, "Are you going vote with the republicans again this year Linda?" I fired back two words and a picture. The two words were "Jimmy Carter" and the picture:

Okay, so there are republicans who adhere to stereotypes, when did I ever say republicans were perfect? Oh, and, not to split hairs or anything, but I'm a conservative, and you know what, we're not perfect either, so yes, I've got friends in low places.

As for me, well, I find it difficult to get all worked up about the penny-pinching Jew stereotype, I always have, and always will. I seem to run into it a lot, probably because my last name is so not Jewish, and people tend to drop that stereotype on me more often then they might if I were a Goldstein rather than a Gonzalez.

I'll have fun with you if drop that on me and you happen to be... say... Irish, because then I get to comment something along the lines of how fortunate I am to come from a people that are known for making money and taking over the world while you come from a people who are known for being a bunch of drunks. Not to pick on the Irish, that's just an example to show you that stereotypes can be fun, if you're lucky enough to be born with the right one, and when you think about it, we Jews really have the best one.

Stereotypes are a fact of life. Like cliches, we have them for a reason, and we might as well acknowledge them, accept them, and learn to live with them. In ourselves, and in others.

I'll leave you with a quote, see if you can guess who said it. You'll have to click to find the answer...

"I hate to admit it, but I have reached a stage in my life that if I am walking down a dark street late at night and I see that the person behind me is white, I subconsciously feel relieved."

It was Jesse Jackson who said that, and he said it maybe about 20 years ago. You see, we all have stereotypes, about ourselves, and others.

Just words?

In his Cairo speech, immediately after talking about the Holocaust, Obama said that "on the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people - Muslims and Christians - have suffered in pursuit of a homeland."

"Obama shockingly equated the destruction of European Jewry to the suffering Arabs brought upon themselves when they declared war on the nascent state of Israel," National Union MK Arye Eldad said. "If he doesn't understand the difference, perhaps he will when he visits the Buchenwald concentration camp [on Friday]. And if he still won't get it then, the Muslims will teach him a painful lesson that his predecessor learned on September 11."

Diaspora Affairs and Public Relations Minister Yuli Edelstein (Likud) blamed Obama's comparison between the Holocaust and the Palestinians' plight on previous Israeli governments for accepting the Palestinian narrative. He singled out Kadima leader Tzipi Livni, who he said emphasized Palestinian interests over Israel's as foreign minister.

Eldad's National Union colleague, MK Michael Ben-Ari, compared Obama to Pharoah and said that just as the Jewish people overcame one, the Jewish state would overcome the other.

Likud MK Danny Dannon wrote a letter to members of Congress criticizing Obama for his "new and disturbing trend of intensifying pressure on Israel," and asking them to join him in highlighting the dangers of Obama's policies.

While Netanyahu asked his ministers not to attack Obama after the speech, some refused to remain silent.

"Obama ignored the fact that the Palestinians have not abandoned terror," Habayit Hayehudi chairman Daniel Herschkowitz said during a tour of settlements south of Hebron. "The government of Israel is not America's lackey. The relations with the Americans are based on friendship and not submission, and therefore Israel must tell Obama that stopping natural growth in the settlements is a red line."

and... The citizens committees of Judea and Samaria refused to remain silent as well:

"... Hussein Obama chose to adopt the lying versions of the Arabs, which were always stated persistently and brazenly, over the Jewish truth, which is stated in a weak and stuttering voice," the settlers said in a statement.

It was time for Netanyahu to join the ranks of Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir, "arise as a proud Jewish leader and declare that he rejects with repugnance the rewritten history that Obama attempted to dictate today," they said.

G-d help us. There can be no doubt as to the intentions of this president.

Trial Balloon?

Much ado about nothing seems to pretty much sum up last week's meeting between the 0bamamessiah and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Neither one gave in to the other, nothing was resolved or even agreed upon, and Bibi went home without any DVDs or even an iPod. No fuss no bother, no real news bites, at least, on this side of the world.

However, once Bibi arrived home, things got a little interesting, that is, if you were paying attention. I was, after all, it was a landmark anniversay for Israel last week, Yom Yerushalayim, Jerusalem Day, the celebration of the Liberation of Jerusalem from the Jordanians in 1967 in the Six Day War. And Bibi showed up at Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva is the Yeshiva where an arab scum murdered eight young yeshiva students last year in a brutal terrorist attack that Israel's "Partners in Peace," the palestinians, celebrated in the streets and the rest of the world refused to condemn. But I digress.

The headline you didn't see in the American newspapers:

Prime Minister Netanyahu declared, "The flag that flies over the Kotel is the Israeli flag... Our holy places, the Temple Mount -- will remain under Israeli sovereignty forever.”

Between 1949 and 1967, the religious sites in the City, as well as all of Judea and Samaria, had been under the control of Jordan, which forbid entry of Jews to the Western Wall (Kotel) and other holy places, as well as barring Christians from churches. Israel immediately opened all holy sites to all religions after the entire city was re-united in 1967, returning the Old City to Israeli sovereignty after nearly 2,000 years.

That says so much, and yet so little.

It was a victory against all odds. The moment is preserved for eternity on this old clip, the soldiers and their commanders are in awe of their accomplishment. Watch as soldiers announce that they are in the Old City. Their CO signals back “Mazal Tov, Mazal Tov!” “The Temple Mount is in our hands.” “All honor to you” is the reply. Gen. Mordechai Gur's paratroopers raise the Israeli flag, and sing the Hatikvah, the national anthem. Jewish soldiers weep as they touch the Western Wall. Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren carries a Torah into the Old City. General Dayan and his staff arrive. The shofar is blown signaling victory in battle and the joy in, once again, having access to holy Jewish land. (thanks to Robert J. Avrech at Seraphic Secret for the translation)

All of Jerusalem is now united and it will stay united. The Flag that flies over the Kotel is the Israeli Flag.

If you know anything about the history of Jerusalem, you know that before Israel took control of the Old City, the arabs had no interest in it whatsoever. The only Arab head of state to visit Jerusalem was King Abdullah of Jordan. He did so in 1951 and during that visit and because of that visit, Abdullah was assassinated on the steps of the Al Aqsa Mosque by an Arab who accused him of making peace with Israel.

Until Israel united Jerusalem, the arabs had in interest in it, none at all.

Of course, the American Media is not going to tell us that 0bamamessiah had the arrogance to tell Israel to turn the Kotel over to the United Nations, an entity run by thugs and dictators whose purpose seems to be first the destruction of the State of Israel, and then the destruction of America. They might have told us, if only Israel had bowed to 0bamessiah's demand, but Bibi declined. I wonder what else the media is not telling us.

They tell us seventy-five percent of the Jewish vote went to this man, okay then. I find it somewhat amusing that hardly anyone I know will admit to voting for him, so those that did are now deeply ashamed and nearly all of the 0bama bumper stickers have disappeared, I hardly see any on the road these days.

Can't say that I blame them. If I had voted for him, I'd be ashamed too.

Today's Zionist Conspiracy

is none other than.... the Somali Pirates of the Red Sea!

Analysts are openly accusing Israel of sponsoring piracy off Somalia waters with the aim of transforming Red Sea into a Jewish lake. The immediate objective of USA, Israel and European countries is to prevent the inflow of arms to Islamist Al-Shabab that is on the verge of snatching power in Somalia and to steal Arab oil.

Of course the only "analyst" I could find openly making this ridiculous accusation is Asif Haroon Raja, the writer of this article titled "Rise of Islamists, and Sea-Piracy in Somalia." He is obviously an adherent to the "baffle them with bullshit" style of writing as it is used liberally throughout the article, but I found the concept of turning the Red Sea into a "Jewish Lake" very funny. Later, he manages to turn around and justify Israel's takeover quite neatly and nicely, leaving me to wonder if perhaps he might be Jewish.

I know this, Jewish or not, when it comes to pirates, the guy is almost as smart as Susie Madrak of Crooks and Liars, she would have us believe that "in the big picture, the Somali pirates are acting in self-defense."

Et tu Fox?

Cute... up to a point.

and the point was... "The Jewish people I've adored, even though they killed my Lord."

Great. Thanks for helping to perpetuate that libel into a new generation.

January 18, 2009

This is Fort Lauderdale

on January 15, 2009.

and once again, these are the people in my neighborhood, shouting "Go Go Hitler, he should have finished you off."

Yes, these are my neighbors, essentially calling for the killing of Jews on the streets of America. I can't dismiss this, no, I can't, so don't ask me to. Because when they call for the killing of Jews, they're talking about me, that's right, they're talking about killing me, my family, my loved ones, my people. No, I can't dismiss it, because one of those bastards looked mighty familiar, but I'm just not sure from where.

You know, I always say I live in paradise. Beautiful sunny South Florida. Sigh. I guess I can't say that anymore, because it looks like paradise is well on its way to becoming just another moslem shithole.

It might be time to move but where do I go?

P.S. before I forget, special thanks go to my friend Joe Kaufman of Americans Against Hate for taking the video, and sending it to me. AAH does good things. Support them if you can.

This is America

Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Eighteen miles from my home. and yeah, I've been there, in fact, I used to work right around the corner.

Right here in beautiful Sunny South Florida, a young moslem woman, joined by three hundred other moslem and various American leftists, "peace activists," and obvious obama supporters, screams in the street for the mass murder of Jewish people, crying out for ovens, for Jews to be put into ovens, for Jewish people to be nuked, to be killed.

Make no mistake, that would be me she is talking about killing. She is calling out on the streets of South Florida for me to be killed, she is calling out on the streets of America to put me to death, to put my family to death, to put me and my family into an oven. There she stands, surrounded by several hundred others, all of them like minded, all of them wanting the same thing, for people to rise up, to kill the Jews, to put the Jews into an oven, to kill me and to kill my family. Such is the "beauty" of islam.

This woman is calling for my death. She is my neighbor, I could pass her on the street tomorrow or the next day or next week. She could be the woman next in line at the grocery store, or in the car behind me on the way to work, she could be at the lunch counter, or the dry cleaners, or the drug store, or the gas station, or anywhere, and she wants to kill me.

Good thing I'm armed, huh?

Now that's what I call propaganda

After years and years of rockets raining down on civilians in Israeli towns bordering Hamas controlled Gaza Strip, after years and years of Hamas bragging each time one of those rockets manages to do damage and Hamas celebrations when they manage to take a life and after years and years of continued threats of additional rockets to be shot into Israel from Hamas leadership, we get this...

Don't bother rubbing your eyes, you read that right. Hamas leadership is now attempting to claim that it was Israel that has ordered collaberators inside Gaza to shoot rockets into Israel in order to have an excuse to attack innocent Hamas and to kill innocent Palestinians who only wanted to keep the truce with Israel and have peace in the Middle East.

SIEGEL: But, wasn't the response of firing rockets into Israel…

Mr. YUSUF: There is no - actually, when we…

SIEGEL: Wasn't that guaranteed to bring on this retaliation by the Israelis?

Mr. YUSUF: No. No. This has nothing to do with firing rockets because there is no rockets fired. There are collaborators, sometimes they fire based on the Israeli asking them maybe to fire some of these home-made projectiles. They know that Hamas did their best to protect the border and not to let anybody firing rockets.

SIEGEL: But you're saying that when rockets have been fired out of Gaza, you're saying that those are being fired by Israeli collaborators whom the Israelis are arranging for them to do that, so that…

Mr. YUSUF: Actually, we all - let me try me to check if there is anybody actually - we check with those political and militant group who are really showing their commitment. And when we check, well, they - all them denied any of them been firing rockets. So, who been firing these rockets? We don't have an explanation except from those Israeli collaborators. So, we told them, we would like to keep this cease-fire and keep the - stop their aggression and also opening the gate. Hamas is willing to keep the cease-fire, and we are willing to extend it to another six months, but we need a commitment from the Israeli side.

Unfortunately, all the time they deceive the world community by claiming many things, and unfortunately, we are the people who really suffering, and this air strike they targeting everything, universities, mosques, schools, civilian home, residential areas, and also all the governmental building, which has nothing to do with these firing rockets as they keep claiming.

SIEGEL: The United Nations reported that, out of more than 300 Palestinian deaths, there were a little bit over 50 civilians. Does that mean that many Hamas gunmen and many Hamas officials have been killed in these Israeli strikes?

Mr. YUSUF: There are many people, actually, from the police force, because they targeting all the police station, which has nothing to do with all what they claim the firing rockets or anything of this. This is the police force who tried to keep the state of security, enforcing the state of law. And this kind of aggression is against international law. It is a crime against humanity.

I just can't stand that my tax dollars goes to support NPR and they use it to promote terrorist propaganda like this. It horrifies me to know that somewhere out there, there are idiots sitting at their kitchen table, fermenting the kind of hatred in their hearts for Jews that prompts them to go out into the streets of America and burn down synagogues, paint swastikas on Yeshivas and beat innocent Jewish people in the streets.

Just the other day, an elderly woman on Miami Beach first admired the Star of David I wear on a chain around my neck and then kindly suggested that I put it under my shirt, because perhaps it is not a such good time to be wearing it. I told her I understood how she felt, and not to worry, I was just sorry it was so small. She reminded me of my Grandmother, who worried about such things back in Brooklyn when I was growing up.

Thanks to media outlets like the NPR, who are more than happy to promote terrorist propaganda and to present Israel in the worst possible way, there is violence against Jews in America, and ignorant idiots stand side by side in support of terrorists and promote genocide and murder in the streets of America.

It sounds outrageous, yes, I know, but if you read arabic, you would see for yourself the truth in that statement, and now, thanks to a post found At the back of the hill, you can see the truth in that statement:

You would see your fellow Americans, you would see your friends, and your neighbors standing with people holding signs, perhaps even holding signs themselves, signs that say things like "Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea" - which frankly states the intent to destroy the Jewish state and ethnically cleanse the land of Jews. That my friends, is genocide. If that wasn't bad enough well, you might see them with signs that say "Falastin balad'na w'al Yahud qalab'na" which translates to say "Palestine is our land and the Jews are our dogs." Is that something you agree with? No? Maybe you might agree with "ba ruh, ba dam, nafdeek ya Falastin" which translates to say "with our soul, with our blood, we will cleanse you oh Palestine." Now, that's something every American can agree with, yes? With your soul and your blood, you will cleanse Palestine of Jews.

Then again, there is the standard "Itbach al Yahud" which translates to say "slaughter the Jews." Slaughter, now, you know what that means, don't you? And of course, "al mawt al Yahud" which translates to say "death to the Jews." Another fine sentiment for the streets of America, perhaps part of the American dream?

This is what you see on the streets of America, and it's not something that has appeared overnight. I saw it in 2006, when Americans held up signs that said "We are all Hezbollah" in support of the same brand of terrorism as Hamas, different name, same terror.

As I said in my comment over At the Back of the Hill, violence against Jews in America is not new, and it did not begin all of a sudden with this latest Operation against the Hamas.

Just last month, a young man with three children was beaten in the streets of Bal Harbour, Florida, only a few miles from my home, for the crime of being Jewish. He was attacked only because he was wearing kippot.

Broken glass was placed in a Yeshiva playground sandbox in Philadelphia back in June of 2008. In May of 2008, they painted swastikas on a Parkland Florida Synagogue.

The Holocaust Memorial in SanFran was defaced this month, but it has been defaced before the Israelis began this operation.

Swastikas were drawn on a sidewalk and the walls of a Yeshiva in my neighborhood over this past summer and a Chabad House on Miami Beach was gutted by arson last year.

So. The terrorists shoot their rockets into Israel and I am always telling my friends who live there how worried I am for them, that they are surrounded by people who hate them. And they say, But not everyone, not everyone hates us, and we love each other.

And these attacks happen here, like the one in Bal Harbour, and my friends, they say to me, Linda, we are so worried about you living there in Miami where these terrible attacks on Jews are happening. They say to me, "You are surrounded by people who hate you." And I say to them, but not everyone hates us, and we love each other.

Am Yisrael Chai. We live. Here, and there. We live.

Finally, to all of you people out there protesting the Israeli rockets being shot into Gaza, if you feel a need to defend yourself and your support of terrorism and genocide of Jews on the streets of America, before you do so here, you must first answer one question, where have you been for all of these past years while thousands of rockets have been shot from Gaza into Israel?

I ask because I have not seen you on the street with your signs, protesting the terrorist acts aimed at innocent Israeli civilians, I have not seen you protesting Hamas rockets aimed directly at homes and schools and playgrounds and cities and towns. I have not heard your cries of outrage, your demands for sanctions or for international action. In fact, the rockets have been falling in Israeli towns for years and I have heard nothing from you about it.

But even worse, rather than hearing you say "stop the genocide of Jews," instead, I have seen you on the streets of America holding signs promoting the genocide of Jews, so before you say anything at all in my comments, first answer that question, because without a straight, honest and forthright explanation as to your actions, you have no moral standing to say anything at all about anything at all.

Bal Harbour, Florida

It's part of Miami Beach, very upscale, and about 60 blocks south of my home.

Dovid Hazan's attackers didn't take his wallet. They spotted his Yarmulka, knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face time and time again. They were screaming he said. He couldn’t get the exact words that became lost in a haze of boots to the face. "They screamed and said many things but, all I wanted to do was cover my face. I never saw them, I have no idea who they are, I had no words exchanged with them. They saw me and they came out of the blue," said Hazan. "No place is safe for Jews. I'm sorry to say it. No place is safe. People that hate Jews will find all kinds of excuses to hate us. Whether it's going to be the economy, whether it's going to be anything, they always find excuses why to hate us. We're going to be target of any type of problem."

Dovid Hazan is a teacher at a Jewish day school on the beach, he came to live in Bal Harbor from Israel four years ago with his wife and triplets.

Refuah Shelayma.

Today's Man on the Street Moment

"He didn't know why he did it..."

A bicycle-riding Miami Beach man has been charged under a hate crime law after police say he slapped at a rabbi and blurted out an obscene epithet.

Pichardo Dearmas, 49, was charged last weekend with assault with prejudice, a misdemeanor.

On Monday afternoon, he was being held at Miami-Dade County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Rabbi Abraham S. Mann -- wearing a black-brimmed hat and black knee-length overcoat -- was walking on the Venetian Causeway between Dilido Island and Rivo Alto Island at about 8 a.m. Saturday, according to a Miami Beach police report released Monday.

Mann, 36, of Miami Beach and formerly of the Hallandale Jewish Center, could not be reached for comment.

Dearmas, a convicted burglar from Miami Beach with a lengthy rap sheet, was riding his bicycle coming up behind Mann. About two or three feet away, he ''slapped at the victim with his right hand/arm'' while blurting out ''You f-----g Jew,'' the report said.

The report does not say whether Dearmas made physical contact with the rabbi.

Miami Beach police stopped Dearmas on Dilido Island, where he admitted in Spanish ''he didn't know why he did it,'' according to a report by Officer William Watson.

Dearmas has been arrested more than 40 times dating back to 1985. He has served four state prison stints, the last a one-year sentence for grand theft.

He sports tattoos of a spider, a clown and, on his back, Jesus Christ.

Florida's hate-crime laws were enacted in 1989 after a rash of vandalism at Jewish synagogues. A person charged under the hate crime law faces a more severe penalty -- in this case, the charge is upgraded from a second-degree to a first-degree misdemeanor.

A conviction of first-degree means jail time of up to one year.

So, he's facing a sentence of 365 days worth of three hots and a cot on the public dime, and he didn't know why he did it? I know why he did it.

Judging by his behavior, it would be my guess that the Jesus tattoo is no reflection of his personal beliefs and is likely there only to cover up a really bad case of backne.

Today's Anti-Semite

Commentary has an interesting article up by Travis Pantin, titled Hugo Chávez's Jewish Problem, although I'm not sure whether the title is really fitting.

Chávez doesn't really have a Jewish problem, its the Jews of Venezuela who have a Chávez problem:

• Graffiti, often bearing the signature of the Venezuelan Communist party and its youth organization, have appeared on synagogues and Jewish buildings, with messages like “mata niños” (“child killers”), “judios afuera” (“Jews get out”), “judios perros” (“Jews are dogs”), and swastikas linked to stars of David by an equals sign.

• Sammy Eppel, a columnist for the independent Caracas newspaper El Universal, has documented hundreds of instances of anti-Semitism in government media. To take one particularly noxious example, in September 2006 El Diario de Caracas, until recently one of the country’s most important papers, published an editorial containing these fiery words:

Let us pay attention to the behavior of the Israeli-Zionist associations, unions, and federations that are conspiring in Venezuela to take control of our finances, our industries, commerce, construction—which are infiltrating our government and politics. Possibly we will have to expel them from our country . . . as other nations have done.

• On television, Mario Silva, the host of a popular pro-Chávez show called La Hojilla (“The Razor Blade”), has repeatedly named prominent Venezuelan Jews as anti-government conspirators and called on other Jews to denounce them. “Rabbi Jacobo Benzaquén and Rabbi Pynchas Brener are actively participating in the conspiracy in conjunction with the media,” Silva has said. “So as not to be called an anti-Semite,” he added, “I repeat that those Jewish businessmen not involved in the conspiracy should say so.”

• Armed government agents have conducted two unannounced raids on the Hebraica club during the past five years. The first occurred during the early morning hours of November 29, 2004, when two dozen men wearing masks invaded the elementary school just as pupils were arriving for class. In the second, which came shortly after midnight on December 2, 2007, government agents broke through the front gate and disrupted hundreds of celebrants at a wedding party in the nearby synagogue. In each case, allegedly, the agents were looking for weapons and other evidence of “subversive activity.”

• The last few years have seen the creation of a terrorist group in Venezuela calling itself Hizballah in Latin America. The group has already claimed responsibility for placing two small bombs outside the American embassy in Caracas in October 2006—one of them, it is thought, intended for the embassy of Israel. Although neither of the two bombs detonated, the group’s website hailed the man who planted them as a “brother mujahedin” and has urged other, simultaneous attacks throughout Venezuela in solidarity with Hizballah in Lebanon.

Of course, with regard to that last item, if you use support for Hizballah as a gauge for anti-semitism, you could say that America and our good friends the brits suffer from the same Jewish Problem."

But... I digress. Mr. Pantin makes some very good points, including:

History suggests that once anti-Semitism becomes an instrument of state policy, the possibility of violence can never be discounted. For centuries, moreover, anti-Semitism has waxed and waned with fluctuating business cycles. With both the ailing economy and Chávez’s social programs dependent almost entirely on oil revenues, a drop in prices could trigger widespread animosity against the “Semitic banks” that members of Chávez’s party have repeatedly denounced for every passing ill. A major event like a military strike on Iran by the United States or Israel might similarly serve as justification for seizing the assets of Venezuela’s Jewry.

One small item Mr. Pantin missed, as of October of 2006, Israeli citizens are persona non grata in Venezuela.

When you consider Hitler's Germany and the result of state-sponsored anti-semitism, it appears that "Never Again" is having technical difficulties.

----

Thanks Paco, for the tip on the Pantin article.

Targeting Children

I don't understand what's happening to this Country:

Rachel Gross, executive director of the Germantown Jewish Center, stood in a toddlers' playground at the synagogue at Lincoln Drive and West Ellet Street, and pointed to a half-dozen foot-wide holes dug in the sand.

Shards of glass had been hidden inside.

"Glass was buried all over," said Gross. "It was clearly intentional. There is no other conclusion than someone did it on purpose, and they did it to hurt children."

She said the playground has been shut since April 15, when the glass shards - most about two to three inches long - were discovered. The perimeter of the 40- by 35-foot playground is surrounded by yellow caution tape and orange netting to keep children out.

The planting of broken glass at the playground - which features a sliding board, a train, a tiny log cabin and a large yellow umbrella for shade - is among several acts of vandalism at the synagogue this year.

On Jan. 4, two black swastikas were spray-painted on the rear of the synagogue. About two weeks later, a fire was set in a kindergarten classroom, causing damage throughout the large complex. Last month, a classroom window was broken at center, and a swastika was painted on the home of a nearby Jewish neighbor.

Taking all of these incidents as a whole, law enforcement has decided that there is no hatred of Jewish people involved, oh no!

Capt. Winton Singletary, commander of the 14th Police District in Northwest Philadelphia, said police think the vandalism is the work of juveniles, most likely from the area.

There can be no doubt that, as it moves further and further to the left, this Country is becoming more and more unfriendly to Jewish people. Despite the attempts by law enforcement to cover up these hate crimes by classifying them as vandalism, and blaming them on high-spirited juveniles, we Jews see them for what they are.

I take these attacks personally, I take all attacks on all Jews personally because I know what they lead to. Cries of "Never Again" is being drowned out by shouts of "Chrad al Yahood" and I take that personally too. It means, kill the Jews, and when they say it, they mean to kill me, and my family.

You can judge the German people

by who their heroes are:

The German Federation of Internal Medicine has awarded a former Nazi SS doctor, suspected of carrying out euthanasia. Dr. Hans-Joachim Sewering, 92, was honored for giving "unequalled services in the cause of freedom of the practice and the independence of the medical profession and to the nation's health system," according to the Federation.

American Jewish organizations previously have charged that Sewering killed 900 Jewish children at a euthanasia center. He has admitted to being part of the elite SS unit but has denied carrying out euthanasia.

Nine hundred children.

It's true, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

The more things change

The more they remain the same:

Hostility towards the Jewish state in Iraq is so strong that many parents refuse to travel to Tel Aviv for free life-saving hole-in-the-heart surgery.

Some accept the offer but never reveal where their children were treated, even though the operation has not been available in Iraq since its leading cardiac clinic burnt down after the American-led invasion in 2003.

Other parents are seeking treatment elsewhere in the Arab world, despite prices of up to £15,000 for heart surgery in private clinics. They fear the stigma of being treated in Israel.

Aria, an 18-month-old baby from Kirkuk in northern Iraq, was waiting to return home last week after a successful operation at the Edith Wolfson medical centre in Tel Aviv, where 11 Iraqi children are being treated. The surgery is sponsored by Save a Child’s Heart (SACH), a humanitarian organisation founded in Israel in 1996 and supported by private sources, including Christian charity groups.

Aria’s young mother, Paiman, paid tribute to the clinic and the surgeon, Dr Lior Sasson, saying: “He saved little Aria’s life.”

However, the parents of other Iraqi children in urgent need of surgery said they had rejected free treatment when they heard it would be performed in Israel.

The mother of Mustafa, 4, from Kirkuk, who has undergone two heart operations in six months, said: “My only fear, which spoils my joy at my son’s escape from death, is the revenge my family can expect when we go back to Iraq.”

Revenge? What kind of culture would allow a child to die rather than allow a Jew to save its life? Israeli doctors would do anything to save a life, even the life of a child whose parents rejoice in the death Jews, even the Jew who would save the life of their child.

May G-d forgive me but, when I read this kind of crap, I can't help but wonder if freeing Iraq was worth it.

Never Again?

In South Florida, it's here we go again...

Last week, a Chabad Synagogue in Miami Beach was burned to the ground, and last nght, a Chabad Synagogue in Parkland was defaced with swastikas.

On Wednesday, a Jewish schoolboy was the first to see three swastikas spray-painted on the Chabad of Parkland synagogue building at 7170 Loxahatchee Road. Someone also had spray painted "4 Hitler" on a nearby stop sign.

Last week, the Chabad of Miami Beach in South Beach burned to the ground.

Both incidents occurred during or just before significant dates in the Jewish calendar. The Miami Beach synagogue burned down during Passover. Vandals struck in Parkland just before Yom Hashoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I've been to Chabad of Parkland, although it has been several years, and I was in Parkland just last June, to attend services for Pfc. Daniel Agami, who was killed while patrolling Iraq. Daniel's family were members of Chabad of Parkland.

To its credit, the Broward Sheriff's Office wasted no time in calling the parkland incident what it was, an "offensive hate crime of malicious vandalism." Meanwhile, the FBI had to be cajoled into an investigation of the Miami Beach incident, and it still refuses to call the torching of Chabad on Miami Beach a hate crime.

There can be no doubt that, as it moves further and further to the left, this Country is becoming more and more unfriendly to Jewish people. Despite the attempts by law enforcement to cover up these hate crimes by classifying them as vandalism, we Jews see them for what they are.

I take these attacks personally, I take all attacks on all Jews personally because I know what they lead to:

Today is Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever-approaching thunder, which will destroy us too. I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.

In the meantime, I must uphold my ideals, for perhaps the time will come when I shall be able to carry them out.

Anne Frank, Diary of a Young Girl, entry for Saturday, July 15, 1944

Never Again is being drowned out by "Chrad al Yahood" and I take that personally too. It means, kill the Jews, and when they say it, they mean to kill me, and my family. Like Anne, I see the wilderness coming too, and yes, even here, in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, I hear the thunder.

The photograph above was taken at the Holocaust Memorial on Miami Beach, Florida.

Miami Beach Synagogue Torched

Chabad synagogue in Miami torched
Synagogue's rabbi recounts: Individuals broke into synagogue, tore Torah books to pieces and torched them

Ze'ev Katz, the synagogue's head rabbi, recounted the event on one of Chabad's internet websites, saying that a number of individuals broke into the empty synagogue, took the Torah books from the cabinet, tore them to pieces, and set them on fire.

The damage. (Photo: Shtoram.net)

Katz said the view of the burned synagogue was dismal. Miami police have commenced investigations.

Chabad rabbis in the US assumed that the purpose of the attack was to target areas in which large amounts of Chabad Jews gather outside of Israel. The rabbis also said that the majority of anti-Semitic activity that takes place in the US is perpetrated by the Muslim community.

This is not the first time a Synagogue has been torched in Miami Beach, last October another was damaged by fire, but it was deemed to be an accident. Swastikas and anti-Jewish statements spray painted outside a Yeshiva, just a few blocks from my home in North Miami Beach, last year was deemed to be youthful vandalism.

The FBI agreed to investigage, but they don't want to call this torching a hate crime - yet. Maybe they will, but likely, they won't.

I can't possibly express all of the things I am feeling about this right now.

Shabbat Services will be held on the lawn tomorrow, join us if you are able.

And, if you are so inclined, you can donate to help us rebuild.

Ohfercryinoutloud!

Zimbabwe opposition accuses Mossad of helping Mugabe:

An aide to Zimbabwean opposition leader Simba Makoni alleged ahead of Saturday's election that the Mossad had been hired by President Robert Mugabe to ensure he won by computerized rigging of the vote.

Slideshow: Pictures of the week Ibbo Mandaza, a senior member of Makoni's campaign team, told the Mail & Guardian that the voters' roll had been manipulated to favor the ruling ZANU-PF and that the format of the voter's roll was devised by the Mossad on instructions from the Zimbabwean government.

Mandaza said that ZANU-PF asked for Mossad help because of the intelligence agency's experience with elections in other countries.

"They have expertise in vote-rigging. Also, Mossad is looking for any kind of support and alliances and therefore Zimbabwe is the obvious target," he said.

There was no comment from Israeli officials, of course not, why would there be? Those of us who need to know about these things just get the memo, do what needs to be done, and more on to the next conspiracy. Honestly, if we commented on everything, every time we got caught, we would be forever in explanations and denials and we would have no time to take over the world. Now we have both the Vatican and oh-so-important country of Zimbabwe under our control and we can move on to the more important things, like colonizing the moon. Soon, the universe will be ours!

Meanwhile, the dwindling Jewish community of Zimbabwe expressed pessimism about the future in the country.

There are an estimated 300 Jews left in Zimbabwe, most of them living in Harare and Bulawayo, and many of them elderly. At its peak in the 1960s, the community numbered about 7,500.

Why would anyone want to live in that third-world shithole? Get out! Get out now!

Et tu Ann?

There I was... merrily surfing my way around my favorite blogs... and out jumps Ann Coulter:

DEUTSCH: ... we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then, or –

COULTER: Yeah.

DEUTSCH: Really?

COULTER: Well, it’s a lot easier. It’s kind of a fast track.

DEUTSCH: Really?

COULTER: Yeah. You have to obey.

DEUTSCH: You can’t possibly believe that.

COULTER: Yes.

DEUTSCH: You can’t possibly — you’re too educated, you can’t — you’re like my friend in –

COULTER: Do you know what Christianity is? We believe your religion, but you have to obey.

DEUTSCH: No, no, no, but I mean –

COULTER: We have the fast-track program.

DEUTSCH: Why don’t I put you with the head of Iran? I mean, come on. You can’t believe that.

COULTER: The head of Iran is not a Christian.

DEUTSCH: No, but in fact, “Let’s wipe Israel” –

COULTER: I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention.

DEUTSCH: “Let’s wipe Israel off the earth.” I mean, what, no Jews?

COULTER: No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.

DEUTSCH: Wow, you didn’t really say that, did you?

COULTER: Yes. That is what Christianity is.

Amazingly, it appears she was trying to make a point about Christian tolerance.

I found that over at IsraellyCool, and he has more. It ain't pretty.

I am not going to toe the party line here. She was not just talking "shock" to sell her books or get attention and she was not misquoted or misunderstood. Ann said what she meant and she meant what she said.

Evolution!

Another Jewish Conspiracy:

Powerful Texas state Rep. Warren Chisum (R), an advocate of religious-right causes such as banning adoption by gay couples and amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage, has passed along a “memo” from a kindred spirit in the Georgia House claiming that “teaching evolution amounts to indoctrinating students in an ancient Jewish sect’s beliefs,” reports the Dallas Morning-News.

“Indisputable evidence – long hidden but now available to everyone – demonstrates conclusively that so-called ’secular evolution science’ is the Big Bang, 15-billion-year, alternate ‘creation scenario’ of the Pharisee Religion,” writes Mr. Bridges …

Mr. Bridges also supplies a link to a document that describes scientists Carl Sagan and Albert Einstein as “Kabbalists” and laments “Hollywood’s unrelenting role in flooding the movie theaters with explicit or implicit endorsement of evolutionism.”

The site Chisum replies upon also condemns the Jewish conspiracy behind the false claim that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Gravity? Bah! Humbug!

sigh.

Today's Nazi Moment

Titled "The Secret Life of Gingerbread Men," complete with a fire pit and a "cute" little cookie-Hitler, because in their secret life, even cookies hate the joos:

There's nothing wrong with using a little anti-semitism to celebrate Christmas, right? Wrong. The "artist" hopes people will think its cute, but it appears most see it for what it is, a disgusting display meant to encourage hatred.
