La la la
It is simply a great day in Miami!
The game plan was brilliant. The execution was flawless. And the result was stunning. 38-13!!!!
Miami running back Ronnie Brown scored four touchdowns on the ground and passed for another
as the Dolphins snapped New England's 21-game winning streak in dominant fashion.
I hate the Pats. We kicked their butt today and we did it in their own house.
Life is good!

A Baseball Moment
On this day in 1920, the New York Yankees purchased Babe Ruth from the Red Sox for $125,000. The Sultan of Swat became a Yankee!

That win in 2004 proves, it wasn't no curse, it was just bad baseball!
Update: A interesting side note to this is that the last two times that the Red Sox won the World Series, Hockey's Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled. The 1918-19 Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled because the Spanish flu pandemic raging at the time had incapacitated members of both teams, and the 2004-05 Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled with the entire 2004-05 season, resulting from a labor dispute between the NHL owners and the NHLPA. (Thanks to Chrys at Pettifog for the tip)
2005 was a great funny Year in Sports!

Why Gay Marriage??
Phoenix Coyotes star Brett Hull turned up on the "Weekend Update" segment of "Saturday Night Live" and was asked, as a Canadian, what he thought about the recent landmark ruling by Canada's Supreme Court that gay marriage was constitutional.
"That's what happens in Canada when there's no hockey," Hull said. "Guys have more time to hang out, talk about their feelings, next thing you know they're in love with each other."
"I've got nothing against it, but I'd rather be playing hockey."

How Long Without Hockey?
Bettman announced the lockout, saying: "This industry is sick. The players are really bearing the risk of this work stoppage. This union doesn't seem to care about the problems, the game or the fans."
Goddenow from the Players Association: "I have quite a chuckle at the insinuation we are triggering a lockout. That is absolutely stupid and ridiculous."
Meanwhile, there are no negotiations scheduled and union leaders have said that they expect to lose one full season and half of the next.
What they can expect to lose are fans.
