Operation Military Shield - Success!
Operation Military Shield
!!!!!!! SUCCESS !!!!!!
SoFla Protest Warriors Shield the Defenders of Freedom from those who would destroy America!
The Broward Anti-War Coalition had an Anti-War Demonstration at the Broward County Military Recruiting Facility in South Florida today.
Their Goal: To intimidate and denigrate our Military and our Country.
Not in our town! Our Military is fighting to protect our Freedom. They protect us, now we protect them! Members from the Miami Chapter, the Pompano Chapter, the Cooper City Chapter and the Naples Chapter all participated in this Operation. CBS News was on hand.
The loony left were a bit intimidated by our presence, and at first, it looked like they would give up and go away. So, we broke ranks and retreated for a bit, leaving a scout to report on their activity. Shortly after we left, the loonies came out and positioned themselves on the sidewalk.
We gave them a few minutes to get comfortable and then we overwhelmed them. It was truly a beautiful thing... they went up and down the block, and across the street, trying to get away from us, to no avail. We harried them left and we harried them right. We harried them back and forth and up and down.
There was surprise guest appearance by well known America hater from codepink Gael Murphy, who, after giving aid and comfort to the terrorists in Iraq, has returned the United States of America to target our Military here in South Florida.

Miss Murphy is best known for disrupting the RNC during Vice President Dick Cheney’s speech as well as other anti-American and terrorist sympathizing activities.
We had a "man in the street" moment that was truly awesome as a passerby pulled over, and joined us for a moment, expressing his support of the troops and our President, as well as his outrage at the left for their treatment of the troops and this country!

The Question
The question you must ask yourself
As you head off to your poll,
Is who you trust to lead us now
That survival is our goal.
We tread the path of Jihad’s wrath,
Where misstep could spell doom,
And future times of horrid climes,
In Holocaust’s gray gloom. What then again I’ll ask of you,
Should be our true agendas,
Privilege and prosperity
Or ways to best defend us?
Affluence won’t concern us much,
Other problems will confound us,
When our cities lie in smoking ruins,
With destruction all around us.What sort of man I ask you now
Do we really want to lead us?
A nuanced pol, who talks and talks,
While Jihadis grimly bleed us?
Or a fighter, who will walk the walk,
Take the battle to them there,
Force their hand and make them stand,
Destroy them in their lair?This veteran says let’s fight them there;
Lure all those fanatic fools,
To where they face armed fighting men,
Not children in their schools.
I know how I shall vote this time,
I’ll vote to win this war;
Not to let John Kerry lose it,
As he did mine long before.Russ Vaughn

Weapons of Mass Confusion
Okay. Let me see if I got this straight.
60 Minutes was all set to run a bullsheite story the day before the election about how the "incompetent" President Bush screwed up and let Saddam's weapons of mass destruction slip through our hands.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. The story is a fraud.
Of course, true to form, and with no regard for the truth, The Great Pretender was all over it like white on rice.
But... but... there were no WMDS. Everyone knows that - don't they??
No matter. True or not, such a crock of bullsheite would have left the President swatting at flies for the few days before the election.
Alas! Before 60 Minutes could run the lie, the NY Times, pulled the rug out from under them and ran the story about the make-believe WMDs.
But wait... there's more! Enter... Russia!
Now it turns out the WMDs really did exist and they were moved before the war by the Russians, probably right into neighboring Syria. Jeepers. I said that on October 7.
So. The end result is that the NY Times bullsheite attack on President Bush turns into vindication for the President, as it confirms that there were WMDs, the UN was full of cash and caca, and... yes, the Iraqi War was necessary.
Well. It took a year of bullsheite mumbo jumbo but I guess we finally got that straightened out, didn't we.
So. Whatever will they come up with next?

Oy vey. What's Next?
How do you say 'pandering' in Yiddish?
Bubba in a beanie and other acts of desperation in the Sunshine State:
The final scramble for voter support in Florida, the biggest swing state, has drawn candidates and their surrogates almost daily. In this feverish environment, every voter is considered crucial. And in South Florida, Jewish voters took center stage on Tuesday.
No matter. Bubba in a beanie is still Bubba.
A recent poll by the American Jewish Committee indicated that Bush — a staunch defender of the conservative Israeli government — has gained support from Jewish Americans since he received only 19 percent of the Jewish vote in 2000. The September poll of 1,000 Jewish-Americans found 69 percent favored Kerry and 24 percent favored Bush.
"Bill Clinton's failed policies are part of the reason Israel faces the problems it has," said Edward Kone, a Parkland attorney who came to protest Clinton's appearance. "I like President Bush's policy of isolating (Palestinian leader) Yasser Arafat and not dealing with terrorists."

No Draft!!!!
An excellent piece from the NY Post:
THERE is not going to be a military draft. No matter who is elected. No draft. None. Period.
Clear enough?
The shameless lies told for political advantage, the immoral scare tactics behind the warnings that President Bush has a "secret plan" to bring back the draft, have reached a new low point in recent American politics.
Sen. John Kerry knows there isn't going to be a draft.
Sen. John Edwards, who doesn't know much else, knows there isn't going to be a draft.
The Democratic National Committee knows there isn't going to be a draft.
And they're all warning us that a draft is on the way — unless, of course, young people vote for the Democratic ticket.
Apart from assuming that all young Americans are cowards with no sense of patriotism, the naked dishonesty of the "draft scare" tactic is stunning even to someone who's watched politicians misbehave for decades.
There isn't going to be a draft.
Why?
Read the rest. You won't be sorry.

Top Israeli Rabbi Endorses Bush
Rabbi Shalom Yosef Elyashiv, responding to queries from Americans residing in Israel, has decided that Bush is better for Israel than his competitor, John Kerry, said an assistant to the rabbi, Haim Cohen.
"Apparently George Bush loves Israel and thus we need to vote for him," the rabbi said Tuesday, according to Cohen.
Elyashiv decided that the US is a "kingdom of grace," or great friend to Israel, and thus the elections there can directly influence the Jewish state, Cohen said.

Terror Wins - Israel Loses
"This plan will lead to Israel standing against waves and waves of terrorists, drunk with the victory of our withdrawal. This is perhaps the first, and most important strategic victory for terrorism, and the gaining of land for a terror state.
"And against who will they achieve this victory? Against the country which raised the first banner in the war against terrorism. And this country is now teaching the world what surrender is. -- NRP Chairman Efit Eitam

BrainGate - The Power of Thought
In June 2004, surgeons implanted a device containing 100 electrodes into the motor cortex of a 24-year-old quadriplegic. The device, called the BrainGate, was developed by the company Cyberkinetics, based in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Each electrode taps into a neuron in the patient's brain.
A pill-sized brain chip has allowed a quadriplegic man to check e-mail and play computer games using his thoughts. The device can tap into a hundred neurons at a time, and is the most sophisticated such implant tested in humans so far.
The BrainGate allowed the patient to control a computer or television using his mind, even when doing other things at the same time. Researchers report for example that he could control his television while talking and moving his head.
I realize this is an amazing thing but quite frankly, it scares the heck out of me.

History Repeats Itself
Under the plan approved by Sharon's cabinet, and due to be voted on this week by the government, 1500 homes of Jewish families in Gaza, along with schools and other community structures, are to be leveled and the land turned over to Palestinian groups.
Families which do not accept compensation are to be forcibly deported and sent to mass incarceration facilities and internment camps which the Israeli Prison Services has been ordered to prepare. Graves of dead Jews buried in Gaza are reportedly to be dug up and relocated elsewhere along with synagogues which are to be dismantled.

Wake Up America
The Army of Ansar al-Sunnah praise John Kerry for criticizing the President, noting that terrorism has struck fear into John Kerry's heart, and that his election would signal that terrorism is working.
Praise be to Allah, it increased the joy in our hearts that John Kerry, the presidential candidate criticized the Bush government for taking so long in making this declaration. The one who may be president of America [John Kerry] is already struck with terror by our brothers from the Tawheed wal-Jihad Movement [Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group]. The repeated attacks that have targeted the evil Bush are now echoing on Kerry, even though he is not yet a president. This is what Allah means when he commands us to 'terrorize your enemy and the enemy of Allah."
And then they cut off the head of an Iraqi man accused of collaborating with U.S. forces and post pictures of the killing on the Internet. Pictures are here if you can stomach it.
Who do the terrorists want as the next president of the United States of America? It seems pretty obvious that the terrorists are all for Kerry. Of course they are.
Terrorists know that Kerry will give them what they want and they know that Bush will give them what they deserve. If you were a terrorist, who would you vote for?
I'm voting for Bush!

Happy Birthday UN
It was fifty-nine years ago on October 24, 1945 that the United Nations came into existence as an instrument of peace with a vision to make the world a better place for succeeding generations - a world where nations are at peace with one another, where people's human rights are protected, where the equal rights of men and women are guaranteed, where the rule of law is observed and respected, and social progress and better standards of life are ensured for all.
Sadly, the United Nations has not only failed miserably, but has become a protector of terrorists and a supporter of the regimes which breed them.
The President of the United States recently spoke to the United Nations. He spoke of the need for change and called for a new course of action against the threat of terrorism, to stop the killing of school children in Russia, the beheading of construction workers in Iraq, the murder by suicide bombers. He spoke of how, rather than engineers, doctors, scientists and social workers, the Muslim world has become the world's largest exporter of hatred and murder. He spoke of how Muslim equality for women has emerged under the guise of female suicide bombers. He spoke of the consequences of terrorism that have been perpetuated by the Muslim world for over a decade in New York, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kenya, Tanzania, and Bali, Jakarta, Moscow, Madrid and Istanbul.
The President urged action against terrorism, admitting that "for too long, many nations, including my own, tolerated, even excused, oppression in the Middle East in the name of stability." He promised to implement the radical changes that would lead to freedom, to take the fight to the enemy instead of waiting for them to come to us. He acknowledged that it would not be easy and he urged the world to unite in the effort.
What effect could such powerful words have when most of those oppressors, most of those violators of human rights and decency, most of those dictators that our President was referring to in his speech sat before him as members in good standing of the United Nations?
Sitting on UN Commission on Human Rights are some of the world's worst mass murderers and violators of the very human rights they are supposed to protect, including Cameroon, China, Congo (DRC), Cuba, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. The Chairman of the Commission is one of the worst human rights offenders, Libya. These are the very same human rights violators that the Commission is supposed to investigate and expose.
No wonder, then, that the UN has failed to even criticize China's human rights violations, failed to even discuss slave labor when the former Soviet Union existed, failed to even consider the sale of white women and children in Saudi Arabia, failed to investigate the denial of the most basic human rights to women in Asia and Arab countries, and failed to examine the slave trade in Arab countries.
Recently, the Commission has voted against "special observation" of Zimbabwe's violations of human rights; and for the upgrading of the human rights status of Sudan, even while its dictatorship is committing genocide against its southern black Christians, carrying on slavery, and approving of systematic rape.
Consider the actions of Commission member Cuba. Castro had thrown into prison seventy-five dissidents, including journalists and librarians; and it had executed three men who hijacked a ferryboat to escape from this communist hellhole. No matter. The Commission reelected Cuba to another three-year term, "undoubtedly a recognition of the Cuban Revolution's work in human rights in favor of all our people," so Cuba proclaimed.
Ever careful to protect itself and its member dictatorships, the UN went so far as to terminate its relationship with the free speech organization Reporters Without Borders after it criticized the UN's human rights record. Reporters Without Borders had the audacity to suggest reforms that included the restricting of voting by dictatorships and claimed "that granting the chair to Qadhafi's [Libyan] regime has been a disgrace to the commission." The Commission voted 27 to 23 to suspend its relationship with the organization. All of the democratic members voted against it.
As Victor Davis Hanson said in the Wall Street Journal, "It is not the same United Nations of decades past, helping the poor nations with hunger, and sending troops around the world to keep the peace. Gone are the days when UNESCO and UNICEF provided selfless service around the world to fight disease and famine. Now it is a political body with a different agenda. Its membership is rife with tyrannies, theocracies and Stalinist regimes."
Immediately prior to the President's speech, Kofi Anan declared the Iraq War illegal to a BBC reporter. No surprise, considering that at the time of Iraq's blatant defiance of the United Nations resolutions on its weapons of mass destruction, one of Saddam Hussein's henchmen chaired the May sessions of the UN Conference. No surprise considering Kofi Anan's participation the Oil for Food scandal currently under investigation. No surprise considering the UN was silent while Saddam Hussein starved, tortured, maimed and murdered his own people.
Indeed, the UN was silent while Slobodan Milosevic methodically practiced ethnic cleansing in his country. The UN was silent while the Taliban systematically murdered their own people, repressed all human rights, and enslaved women. The UN was silent while in Rwanda and Burundi, half a million lives were lost in civil war.
The UN was silent while 800,000 people were murdered in 1994 during a systematic genocide organized by the Hutu government, and carried out against the Tutsi minority by its troops, police, and specially trained death squads. In 1999, an independent report condemned the UN's reluctance to accept evidence of a genocide, and reluctance to act once the genocide was undeniable.
The UN was silent while in North Korea hundreds of thousands have been murdered in the last decade, and possibly three million have been starved to death in a government created famine.
The UN was silent while 8,000 Muslim men and boys were murdered in Srebrenica, Bosnia, during the Bosnian war of 1995. Another UN commissioned report on this asserted that the UN peacekeepers stood by while Serb troops massacred those to whom the UN had promised protection. The UN had refused to reinforce their peacekeepers with enough troops, and even then severely restricted the action of those that were there.
The UN was silent while over three million were killed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with UN peacekeepers standing by and watching.
And the UN remains silent through the genocide in Sudan.
By its own admission in the Report of the Panel on UN Peace Operation, the UN recognized that its peacekeeping efforts have failed. It undertook peacekeeping in only a third of the conflicts during the 1990s, and when the UN did do something, it failed or was not effective.
And yet, the UN raises its voice, loud and clear, in consistent and constant condemnation of Israel. In the last few decades, more than half of the UN resolutions passed were against Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East. Israel scores as high as the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom on political rights. On civil liberties, Israel scores much higher than the dictatorship members of the UN. Yet Israel remains only UN member excluded from participation in every UN committee, having been rejected for membership on the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, UN Human Rights Committee, UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, UN Racial Discrimination Committee.
Consider the dictatorships of Algeria, China, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Syria, all of whom are members of the UN Commission on Human Rights. The dictatorship of Egypt is a member of all six UN committees concerned with human rights treaties. The dictatorships of Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan participate on the Governing Council of the International Labor Organization. The bloody dictatorship of Iran is on the five-member UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.
Dictatorships who treat women as second class citizens or slaves like Egypt, Iran, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates are all members of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
"So Americans' once gushy support for the U.N. during its adolescence is gone. By the 1970s we accepted at best that it had devolved into a neutral organization in its approach to the West, and by the 1980s sighed that it was now unabashedly hostile to freedom. But in our odyssey from encouragement, to skepticism, and then to hostility, we have now reached the final stage--of indifference. Americans do not get riled easily, so the U.N. will go out with a whimper rather than a bang. Indeed, millions have already shrugged, tuned out, and turned the channel on it." - Victor Davis Hanson
Happy Birthday United Nations, may this one be your last.

Terrorist Union
My office is in the same building as the local office for the Terrorist Union. For the last month, I have been finding little notes on my car. The first one was a somewhat incoherent and rambling indictment against my President, George W. Bush. The last one simply called me an asshole.
That's okay, I can take it, I've been called worse, but quite frankly, these people scare me. They scare me almost as much as they scared three year old Sophia Parlock.
This is the United States of America, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. They won't scare me into taking the Bush/Cheney sign off of my truck.
They are nothing but a union of terrorist wanna be thugs and they are the heart and soul of what is wrong with America today. There is no rationalization or justification for what those animals did to Sophia Parlock.
To terrorize a three year old for the crime of holding up a Bush/Cheney sign is despicable. It is beyond my comprehension that any American can support Saddam Hussien and terrorize a three year old girl and yet, they do just that.
That is their vision for America. It ain't mine.
Now, they are at the polls in my state, and probably yours too, using intimidation tactics, and threatening physical violence to those who oppose their agenda.
Watch for those purple shirts people. They represent domestic terrorism and they symbolize the end of America as we know it.

Nope... No Terrorists Here II
Back in September, it was noted here how incredibly ignorant The Great Pretender is concerning the terrorists who threaten our safety and our way of life.
"Iraq was not a terrorist haven before the invasion. Iraq is now what it was not before the war, a haven for terrorists." John F. Kerry, September 24, 2004
You couldn't be more wrong John Kerry. Deroy Murdock at the NRO reminds us yet again that anyone stupid enough to believe that Saddam Hussein had no ties to terrorists or to al Qaeda in particular needs to visit Hussien and Terror on the internet. The website is adapted from a speech by Deroy Murdock on September 22 at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
Hussien and Terror has undeniable proof that Saddam Hussein supported terrorists, providing them with, yes, safe haven, cash, diplomatic assistance, training, and even medical care.
"Iraq was not a terrorist haven before the invasion. Iraq is now what it was not before the war, a haven for terrorists." John F. Kerry, September 24, 2004
You won't be surprised to see copies of checks given to the families of Palestinian homicide bombers in Israel, as well as pictures of the terrorists and their victims.
But you may be surprised to read the words of former Italian prime minister Bettino Craxi explaining that terrorist Abu Abbas — ring leader of the October 1985 Achille Lauro cruise-ship hijacking — was freed from Italian custody because he traveled on an Iraqi diplomatic passport.
"Abu Abbas was the holder of an Iraqi diplomatic passport…The plane was on an official mission, considered covered by diplomatic immunity and extra-territorial status in the air and on the ground." Bettino Craxi, Italy’s prime minister, October 14, 1985
After escaping Italian police in October 1985 following the Achille Lauro hijacking (thanks to his Iraqi diplomatic passport), Abu Abbas finally ended up in Baghdad in 1994, where he lived comfortably as one of Saddam Hussein’s guests. U.S. soldiers caught Abbas in Iraq in April 2003. This time, he did not get away. He died last March 9, in American custody, reportedly of natural causes.
But... but... but...
"Iraq was not a terrorist haven before the invasion. Iraq is now what it was not before the war, a haven for terrorists." John F. Kerry, September 24, 2004
Visit Hussien and Terror and read about the May 7, 2003 decision by Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge Harold Baer Jr. to award the families of two September 11 victims $104 million in damages after their attorney proved that Saddam Hussein's government provided "material support" to al Qaeda in the September 11 massacre.
"Iraq was not a terrorist haven before the invasion. Iraq is now what it was not before the war, a haven for terrorists." John F. Kerry, September 24, 2004
"Iraq was not even close to the center of the War on Terror before the president invaded it." John F. Kerry, Presidential Debate, September 30, 2004
Oh yes, John Kerry. You are wrong, very wrong, as is The Junior Achiever and Senator Killer.
"There is no connection between Saddam Hussein and the attacks of September 11th — period." John Edwards, Vice Presidential Debate, October 5, 2004
"Iraq was not a breeding ground for terrorism. Our invasion has made it one." Senator Ted Kennedy, October 16, 2003
"I never believed in the link between Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda and Islamist terrorism." former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, October 21, 2003
"The evidence now shows clearly that Saddam did not want to work with Osama bin Laden at all." Al Gore, August 2003
Today, John Kerry, you and the entire Democratic Party combine to be the number one threat to America.

Anti-Semetism 101 at Columbia University
At a history class, a professor mockingly tells a female Jewish student she cannot possibly have ancestral ties to Israel because her eyes are green.
During a lecture, a professor of Arab politics refuses to answer a question from an Israeli student and military veteran but instead asks the student, "How many Palestinians have you killed?"
At a student meeting on the topic of divestment from Israel, a Jewish student is singled out as responsible for death of Palestinian Arabs.
Those scenes are described by current and former students interviewed for an underground documentary that is causing a frisson of concern to ripple through the Morningside Heights campus of Columbia University, where the incidents took place.
The film, about anti-Israel sentiment at the school, has not yet been released to the public, but it has been screened for a number of top officials of Columbia, and talk of its impact is spreading rapidly on a campus where some students have complained of anti-Israel bias among faculty members.
"The movie is shocking," one Columbia senior, Ariel Beery, said.
"It is shocking to see blatant use of racial stereotypes by professors and intimidation tactics by professors in order to push a distinct ideological line on the curriculum," Mr. Beery, who was interviewed for the film, said.
The film is the creation of the David Project, a 2-year-old group based in Boston that advocates for Israel and is led by the founder of the American Anti-Slavery Group, Charles Jacobs. The David Project, which is refusing to make the film public, has screened it for Barnard College's president, Judith Shapiro, and Columbia's provost, Alan Brinkley, according to sources.
Neither Ms. Shapiro nor Mr. Brinkley would return calls seeking comment about the film, though at a meeting in Washington this week with women active in Jewish charitable work the Barnard president is said to have spoken of how emotionally affected she was by the film.
With versions at 11 minutes and 25 minutes in playing time, the film consists of interviews with several students who contend that they have felt threatened academically for expressing a pro-Israel point of view in classrooms.
One of the scholars discussed most in the film, according to a person who has seen the film, is Joseph Massad, a non-tenured professor of modern Arab politics, who is teaching a course about Middle East nationalism this fall. Mr. Massad, a professor at Columbia's department of Middle East and Asian languages and cultures, has likened Israel to Nazi Germany and has said Israel doesn't have the right to exist as a Jewish state.
In the film, a former Columbia undergraduate, Tomy Schoenfeld, recalls attending a lecture about the Middle East conflict given by Mr. Massad in spring 2001. At the end of the lecture, Mr. Schoenfeld prefaced a question to the professor by informing Mr. Massad that he was Israeli, Mr. Schoenfeld told The New York Sun. "Before I could continue, he stopped me and said, 'Did you serve in the military?'" Mr. Schoenfeld, who served in the Israeli Air Force between 1996 and 1999, recalled. He said that he told Mr. Massad he had served in the military and that Mr. Massad asked him how many Palestinians he had killed. When Mr. Schoenfeld refused to answer, Mr. Massad said he wouldn't allow him to ask his question.
Mr. Massad did not return phone calls for comment yesterday. Mr. Schoenfeld told the Sun that his encounter with Mr. Massad was not representative of his dealings with Columbia professors and that the Middle East-Asian department is "usually balanced."
Mr. Beery, the senior at the school, told the Sun that anti-Israel bias is prevalent in the department and said the documentary film demonstrates how many students at Columbia have been affected by it.
"You would be surprised," Mr. Beery said, "to find the number of students who were willing to stand up and be counted as members of the student body who oppose the intimidation of students in the classroom, especially on topics related to the Middle East."
In 2003, Columbia's president, Lee Bollinger, convened a committee of six Columbia professors to investigate the possibility of the school's declaring stricter boundaries between academic expression and political activism. But the credibility of the investigation came into doubt among those following the issue seriously when Mr. Bollinger told the New York Daily News that the committee found no claims or evidence of bias or intimidation in the classroom.
Mr. Beery said the committee did not look hard enough for bias and said Jewish students at Columbia have no avenue for pressing complaints about anti-Israel prejudice among faculty members.
"Because Jews are seen as this overrepresented ethnic group and not prone to protests, they sweep it under the rug," he said.
Columbia is looking to raise money for an endowed professorship in Israeli studies to make up for what Mr. Bollinger has said is lack of contemporary Israel scholarship at the school.
That effort comes at a time when the university is under a cloud for having accepted money from the United Arab Emirates, one of the worst human rights violators in the Middle East and a country hostile to Jews and Israel, to help finance a chair named for the late professor Edward Said, who was a writer and anti-Israel Palestinian activist. Harvard University returned money from the UAE after complaints were raised about the propriety of taking money from that source.
The situation of Jewish students on anti-Israel campuses like Columbia is an issue that is coming into focus only slowly among a Jewish communal leadership whose attention has been elsewhere. The isolation of Jews on campuses has been recognized for decades.
One of the most famous letters ever written by a Jewish figure was penned in 1918 by the Zionist Vladimir Jabotinsky and sent to a South African university student. Jabotinsky had heard that in the face of campus anti-Semitism the student was contemplating suicide. Jabotinsky advised him that it would be cowardly for the student to take his own life and that, instead, he should take heart from the Zionist stirrings, which were then just beginning.
The letter, which is reproduced in facsimile form in the "Encyclopedia Judaica," says: "I think, in a very conservative estimate, that the next ten years will see the Jewish state of Palestine ... a reality; probably less than ten." He said it would be "foolish to forego all of this" because of anti-Semites at the university.
Jewish students interviewed by this reporter at Columbia suggest that they perceive their situation in a different light than the student to whom Jabotinsky wrote. The Columbia students do not charge that they are facing anti-Semitism on campus. They attach an importance to what they see as a distinction between anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiments.
"They teach everything in the context of one special, small struggle, when there are 23 countries out there where minorities are being oppressed, where women are bound to their homes, where homosexuals are being put in jail. They're ignoring the rest of the Middle East in favor of a small dimension of it," Mr. Beery said.

Reading is Fundamental!!
From Opinion Journal's the Best of the Web: Red Kids Read, Blues Watch Boob Tube
As if the conflicting polls of "registered voters," "likely voters" and "national adults" weren't confusing enough, now we have a pair of surveys of American children that show contradictory results:
Senator John Kerry has been declared the winner of Nickelodeon's "Kids' Vote" according to kids nationwide who exercised their voting power in the network's presidential poll held online Oct. 19. . . . In this year's vote, Sen. John Kerry received 57% of the vote, and President George W. Bush received 43%.
But Scholastic, a children's publishing company, gives victory to Bush:
In the 2004 Scholastic Election Poll, George W. Bush received 52 percent of the votes and the Democratic contender, John F. Kerry, received 47 percent. Rounding out the vote, 1 percent of students.
Apparently kids who read favor Bush, while those who watch TV prefer Kerry. Hmm, whose parents are more likely to vote?
And there is this:
"I fought for the 9/11 Commission, something George W. Bush, the man my husband Ron and I voted for, didn't think was necessary. And during the Commission hearings we learned the truth, we are no safer today."--9/11 widow Kristen Breitweiser in a Kerry campaign ad released yesterday
"Because of offensive actions against al Qaeda since 9/11, and defensive actions to improve homeland security, we believe we are safer today. But we are not safe."--executive summary, 9/11 Commission Report
Okay. According to the truth that we learned in the Report, we are not safe, but we are safer. What part of that do you not understand?
I am sorry for your loss Kristen, but do us all a favor and get a library card.

Stop The Vote!
Now here is an idea whose time has come and one worthy of the highly coveted © Goddess Seal of Approval:
Much like the left's many get-out-the-vote efforts (i.e. Rock the Vote, Voters for Choice, blah blah blah), my newfangled KEEP HOME THE VOTE campaign will erase the gains made by these socialist groups and keep uninformed, worthless voters from screwing things up for the rest of us. Most thinking people will agree that it is far too easy to vote in this country - not just for illegal aliens and the deceased, but for the brain-dead government-cheese-eating daytime-soap-watching handout generation.
How does the campaign work? Three simple steps, Sway, Misform and Distract. Nothing could be more simple. Click the pic to find out how you can help keep idiots out of the voting booth this November. We may only stop a few hundred nitwits from voting, but remember that Bush only won Florida by 537 votes in 2000 - every stopped vote counts.

Banjo the Democrat Clown
According to the Broward New Times, Poor Banjo the Democrat Clown took quite a bit of abuse at John Edward's campaign stop in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Banjo, all dressed up in a star-spangled Raggedy Andy outfit, complete with a top hat, did a little magic trick and pulled an American flag from his clenched fist.
The magic trick caused a Junior Achiever volunteer thug to issue a cease and desist order to Banjo because, "all signs and flags are outlawed at the event." That's right. John Edwards has banned the American Flag from his Campaign events.
But wait! There's more. Along comes another Junior Achiever volunteer thug who demanded the removal of Banjo's top hat because he was blocking the view.
But wait... there's more! Along comes yet another Junior Achiever volunteer thug who banished Banjo to the back of the room. It appears that the 6 ft tall Banjo was also in violation of the Campaign height rule.
I guess John Edwards doesn't like clowns at his campaign events. Probably doesn't like the competition.

Alternative Election History
Consider if Bush had not invaded Iraq:
Democrat Presidential nominee John Kerry delivered a speech today condemning President Bush for failing to invade Iraq in the follow-up of military action against the Talaban and Al Qaeda in Afghanastan. "Leaving this tyrant in power in contravention of numerous United Nations resolutions is unconscionable," Kerry told the Veterans of Foreign Wars. "He has left available a base of operations and a source of supply and money."
Kerry went on to criticize the war against terror as "stalled" while the real threat to America, "Saddam Hussein’s Iraq goes untouched." Kerry said, "People are murdered daily in Baghdad and throughout the country. Rape rooms are a tragic reality. Torture chambers are full as Saddam’s sons carry out their sadistic impulses on the helpless and hapless victims of this regime. President Bush has done nothing as this brutal dictator takes the money from the Oil for Food to build palaces while his people go without food...
"There can be no doubt of Saddam’s ties to our terrorist enemies. We know that in 1998, after bin Laden issued his public fatwa against the United States, two al Queda members went to Iraq where they met with Iraqi intelligence. Within weeks, an Iraqi delegation traveled to Afghanistan to meet with bin Laden and extend to him safe haven in Iraq. Bin Laden remained with the Talaban, but the invitation from Saddam was always there. Al-Zarqawi has long received refuge in Iraq. The terrorist Forouk Hijazi is known to train his forces there. Abu Nidal has safe haven in Baghdad as he plots murders. Abu Abbas, who planned the hijacking of the Achille Lauro, lives in safety in Iraq. And at Salman Pack, just south of Baghdad, terrorists train using the fuselage of a commercial jet airline. The trail of evidence revealing Saddam Hussein’s ties to terrorists is self-evident to all but those in the White House.
"Our own intelligence organizations and those of Great Britain, France and Germany, agree that Saddam is aggressively pursuing weapons of mass destruction. For all that, he has been left free to further develop his weapons of mass destruction which he can deliver into the hands of those who make war against us at any moment. Saddam Hussein has trained, financed and armed terrorist who attack and murder us, yet our President stands stalled on the border of Iraq, preoccupied with wiping up the last remnants of the Talaban in Afghanistan. To leave this cancer in the midst of the Middle East is to have assured defeat in this so-called war against terror. We need fresh leadership, a President with the vision to remove those who support our enemies from power. To have not invaded Iraq, when the whole world acknowledged the necessity, is to leave a job undone and is the height of arrogance and criminal stupidity."
I found this here, check it out!

A Vietnam Veteran's Final Act
The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that a Las Vegan's last act before dying was to vote for George W. Bush. But they got it only partly correct. The headline should have read "Vietnam Veteran's Uses His Final Act to Vote for Bush."
Voting was a patriotic responsibility that Las Vegan Alton Lee Overton did not take lightly.
Fifty years ago, he voted for the first time when he turned 21. While serving in the Air Force in Vietnam, he voted by absentee ballot. As a Las Vegas resident of 17 years, he walked across the street from his home near Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road each Election Day to vote at a school.
Diagnosed with terminal lung cancer this past summer, Overton, a Republican, was determined to vote for President George W. Bush if it was the last thing he did.
It pretty much was.
Overton awoke Sunday and asked his wife for his mail-in ballot, filled it out, signed it, sealed it and asked a family member to immediately take it to a nearby mail box and drop it in. Six hours later, he died, three months to the day after he was diagnosed with cancer. He was 71.
Gertrude Anne Overton, Alton's high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, said "It was his last wish to vote in this election," she said. "When he fulfilled that final wish yesterday, you could see it was such a great weight off of him. He died peacefully in his sleep."
Thank you Alton Overton, for your service to this Country in the Vietnam War. Rest in peace.

On the liberal media, I hear talking heads and Kerry/Edwards bemoaning the fact that Iraq is drawing terrorists to the area to fight. Clearly their limited ability to see this as constructive is almost laughable, if it weren’t so sadly partisan. Terrorists tend to hide in the midst of the population, coming out like cockroaches after dark to strike and hide again.
We have created a situation that draws them out, and into a killing field where we can eliminate them in larger numbers, and we don’t have to pry them out of the woodwork. This is a brilliant situation, and we are able to do a more effective bit of pest control then otherwise possible. The dem’s over look this, in order to slam the whole war effort, and I for one say that this borders on the treasonous, if not the insanely stupid! In their drive to regain their power, the left has sided with the enemies of America, and the media helps them with ever growing enthusiasm. Cutting off the real stories coming out of Iraq, slanting the news into leftist propaganda, and supporting the idea of running away, leaving the 50 million Iraqis to their enemies, is pure evil at its best!
America is being fed a daily diet of false or distorted information, and it is having a negative effect, and adds to the spilt in America. The press is no longer reporting news, but creating news, and in doing so support the enemies of America with almost fanatical energy, in their drive to shape an America to their liking. I fear for America, partly because of things I see happening, (or not happening)
-Kerry not tried for war crimes, and he should not even be able to run for President, until this is cleared up! (The U.C.M.J. says he should be tried for false medals, treason, and likely more, yet he gets a pass!) Clearly laws mean nothing anymore!
-USN giving Kerry a pass on checking on his medal debacle, so justice is again by-passed! So if Kerry gets a pass, then so should the prison guards, and the military unit that went AWOL.
-Our borders are a pathetic joke, and it is very likely that we are going to have dead Americans because of it!
-We hear a lot of whining about how we can’t find the illegals and deport them, (so there will be enough cheap labor). And we are being taxed to support them, and hear how we need to give them everything from free medical to schooling, to jobs since they're here. Some even say we need to give them citizenship, to reward them for breaking the laws. We’re the welfare sugar daddy for most of central and south America, and Mexico to boot. Time they got off their asses, and corrected their own problems!
-We have a lot of military people in Europe who could be transferred to Iraq and the ‘Stans to fight, and bring the over-due troops home today, yet we stay there and ‘protect’ those who hate us, but want our money!
- The UN is hip deep in graft and corruption, has done nothing about Sudan, doesn’t stop genocide, and bemoans the fact that Israel is protecting itself from terrorists daily!
We have to ask ourselves if America is really one nation anymore. Do we have the backbone to win, or have the PC lefties gutted America into a bunch of whining wimps? We as a people have more then an election to decide, we have to decide if America is even going to last the next few years. We are losing the very heart of America, and we sit about, complaining, but doing nothing to take it back. I wonder if we deserve America anymore!
-Kids come out of school properly propagandized, but unable to even balance a damn checkbook!
-Laws are passed and then tossed out by activist judges, and we just whine about it!
-Our troops are nearly shunned by the media, and we don’t know what they are doing or have accomplished because the media doesn’t want us to know. This is treason of the highest order!
-We have our ability to communicate our thoughts and desires during an election blocked by those for whom America is but a passing dream.
We have gunshots fired into campaign headquarters, riots in them, and other forms of domestic terrorism from the left plus vote fraud (for drugs no less) and little is done or said by either party in an attempt to control it. How is this any different then in some turbulent third-world country? America is being torn apart so that a party can regain their lost power. We are heading towards a civil war, and our politicians are more interested in their jobs, then our safety and rights! America, does it really exist any more?
We need to get out of the damn UN, demand it go to europe and whine there, we need to continue kicking terrorist asses, and we need to support Israel even more.
We need to start arresting and deporting the illegals, and the terrorists who come in with them! We need to close the borders and let the hispanic countries make the changes they need to have a better country and not support their failing governments with our welfare.
We need to stop buying the media output, until they see that we either get the truth, or they can go under and some other news service takes over!
We need to stop letting thugs take over the elections in America, and we need to eliminate or at least challenge PC where ever it rears its ugly head.
And we need to start teaching our kids, (even the lost ones) real education, or they will fail forever!
America is about to be tested as never before, and we, the American people can no longer trust politicians looking to pad their over-paid jobs to do it for us. Words are easy, what must be done is not! But, if we the people of America fail to do this, America is surely gone.
Its time to stand up and stop bitching! Its time to eight ball the losers and demand our rights and country back, or just sit down and shut up like good little comrades.
Your choice.

Republicans and Democrats Don't Mix
Reuters reports that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Monday that his speech backing President Bush at the Republican Convention in August resulted in a cold shoulder from his wife, Maria Shriver, a member of the famously Democratic Kennedy family.
"Well, there was no sex for 14 days," Schwarzenegger told former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta in an on-stage conversation in front of 1,000 people.
Sigh. Here I am, single, conservative, Republican.
Posted by LindaSoG at 08:56 PM | Comments (1)
Are you satisfied?
A recent study shows that Republicans have better sex than Democrats.
Survey said:
Of those involved in a committed relationship, who is very satisfied with their relationship?
Republicans - 87% and Democrats - 76%Who is very satisfied with their sex life?
Republicans - 56% Democrats - 47%
Hmmm... Republican family values at work, keeping people more satisfied?
The poll analysis also reveals who has worn something sexy to enhance their sex life:
Republicans - 72% Democrats - 62%
Hmmm... Republicans are willing to go that extra mile to make it better and Democrats are not.
That's all very interesting... but this... I thought this was very interesting....
When asked whether they had ever faked an orgasm, more Democrats (33%) than Republicans (26%) said they had.
So. Sex and politics do go hand in hand, and Democrats are more likely to lie about both. Why am I not surprised?

Arafat's Only Hope
World Net Daily reports that Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat sits in the pile of rubble that used to be his Ramallah compound, hoping for a Kerry presidency.
It is no surprise that Arafat would prefer that Bush lose this election, after all, President Bush has backed Ariel Sharon's policies, including the isolation of Arafat due to his involvement in terrorism.
It is easy to understand why both terrorists and Europeans support Kerry when you consider Kerry's intention to coordinate American foreign policy with the EU. These countries support Arafat and they are certainly hostile to Israel.
And then, there is Kerry's appointment of Martin Indyk as an adviser. Indyk, who, as the WND puts it, "was a driving force behind Clinton's assessment of Arafat as a statesman and urged Clinton to accept Arafat as the legitimate ruler of the Palestinians." WND also points out that, "under Indyk's advisory, Arafat visited the White House during the Clinton administration 24 times, more than any other world leader during those eight years."
Will Arafat's hopes and dreams come true? Considering Kerry's fixation on the United Nations as the arbiter of international legitimacy and considering how dangerous the ramifications of his foreign policy would be for Israel, we can only hope not.

Apologizing to Saddam is Groovy
Via Sean Gleason...
Good news, for a change. If you're like me, except nuts, you have probably been wondering, "With so much violence in the world, and so little in the way of affordable drugs, is there any way I, as a moonbat, can personally make a meaningful apology to Saddam Hussein for causing so much hardship to his armies of evil henchmen? Well, not a personal apology, since I didn't do any of that army stuff. But isn't there some way to, like, do a, kind of, apology for other people? Like, 'I'm sorry someone else liberated your country, dude'?"

Yes, you too can apologize to Saddam along with the rest of them. See the Page of Atonement. More here. And more here.
My contribution:

Look Ma... no hands! My apologies to Shawn and Judy for the use of their picture! We had fun that night - didn't we? (my hair is not really red, it just looks like that on the internet.)

The Five Second Rule
In case you were worried about the scientific validity of the Five-Second Rule about whether it's safe to eat food that's been dropped on the floor, Jillian Clarke of the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, and then Howard University, investigated.
It seems the 5-second rule dates back to the time of Genghis Khan, who first determined how long it was safe for food to remain on a floor when dropped there. Khan had slightly lower standards, however; he specified 12 hours, more or less.
Among Clarke's findings:
--Seventy percent of women and 56 percent of men are familiar with the 5-second rule, and most use it to make decisions about tasty treats that slip through their fingers.
--University floors are remarkably clean from a microbial standpoint.
--Women are more likely than men to eat food that's been on the floor.
--Cookies and candy are much more likely to be picked up and eaten than cauliflower or broccoli.
--And, if you drop your food on a floor that does contain microorganisms, the food can be contaminated in 5 seconds or less.

Guns Don't Kill People...
Country music is hypothesized to nurture a suicidal mood through its concerns with problems common in the suicidal population, such as marital discord, alcohol abuse, and alienation from work. The results of a multiple regression analysis of 49 metropolitan areas show that the greater the airtime devoted to country music, the greater the white suicide rate. The effect is independent of divorce, southernness, poverty, and gun availability. The existence of a country music subculture is thought to reinforce the link between country music and suicide.
So, you know what happens when you play a country music record backward but, do you know why hula hoops stay up? um... gee that's a tough question but don't worry. Ramesh Balasubramaniam of the University of Ottawa, and Michael Turvey of the University of Connecticut and Haskins Laboratory, spent over eight months trying to figure that one out.

Hamas Bad Boy Imad Kawasme, the head of the Hamas military wing in the West Bank city of Hebron, surrendered to the Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday morning when troops surrounded his safe house in an arrest raid.
Kawasme is suspected of dispatching two suicide bombers who carried out the August 31 terror attack in the southern city of Be'er Sheva in which 16 people were killed and 100 others wounded.
So. You are a brave warrior for the Prophet of Doom and a killer of innocent women and children. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? If you're Imad Kawasme, well, you crap your pants.

Why Won't Kerry Disclose Navy Discharge?
Thomas H. Lipscomb believes it is for a very good reason. Mr. Lipscomb has written an excellent article about The Great Pretender's Military Records, citing an official Navy document on Senator Kerry's campaign Web site listed as Mr. Kerry's "Honorable Discharge from the Reserves," and he makes some valid points and conclusions, some of which are excerpted here:
The document is a form cover letter in the name of the Carter administration's secretary of the Navy, W. Graham Claytor. It describes Mr. Kerry's discharge as being subsequent to the review of "a board of officers." This in it self is unusual. There is nothing about an ordinary honorable discharge action in the Navy that requires a review by a board of officers.
According to the secretary of the Navy's document, the "authority of reference" this board was using in considering Mr. Kerry's record was "Title 10, U.S. Code Section 1162 and 1163. "This section refers to the grounds for involuntary separation from the service. What was being reviewed, then, was Mr. Kerry's involuntary separation from the service. And it couldn't have been an honorable discharge, or there would have been no point in any review at all. The review was likely held to improve Mr. Kerry's status of discharge from a less than honorable discharge to an honorable discharge.
Mr. Lipscomb reminds us of Kerry's meeting with the enemy in 1970 and his participation in organizing a a demonstration in July of 1971.
For example, while America was still at war, Mr. Kerry had met with the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong delegation to the Paris Peace talks in May 1970 and then held a demonstration in July 1971 in Washington to try to get Congress to accept the enemy's seven point peace proposal without a single change.
And Mr. Lipscomb speaks of Eugene Debs. How many Americans know who Eugene Debs is?
Woodrow Wilson threw Eugene Debs, a former presidential candidate, in prison just for demonstrating for peace negotiations with Germany during World War I. No court overturned his imprisonment.
Eugene Debs. Former presidential candidate. Jailed. For demonstrating. Debs demonstrated. Kerry did too. Debs didn't meet with the enemy. Kerry did.
The "board of officers" review reported in the Claytor document is even more extraordinary because it came about "by direction of the President." No normal honorable discharge requires the direction of the president. The president at that time was James Carter. This adds another twist to the story of Mr. Kerry's hidden military records.
Mr. Carter's first act as president was a general amnesty for draft dodgers and other war protesters. Less than an hour after his inauguration on January 21, 1977, while still in the Capitol building, Mr. Carter signed Executive Order 4483 empowering it. By the time it became a directive from the Defense Department in March 1977 it had been expanded to include other offenders who may have had general, bad conduct, dishonorable discharges, and any other discharge or sentence with negative effect on military records. In those cases the directive outlined a procedure for appeal on a case by case basis before a board of officers. A satisfactory appeal would result in an improvement of discharge status or an honorable discharge.
Jimmy Carter. One of the worst presidents this nation ever had to suffer under.
There is one odd coincidence that gives some weight to the possibility that Mr. Kerry was dishonorably discharged. Mr. Kerry has claimed that he lost his medal certificates and that is why he asked that they be reissued. But when a dishonorable discharge is issued, all pay benefits, and allowances, and all medals and honors are revoked as well. And five months after Mr. Kerry joined the U.S. Senate in 1985, on one single day, June 4, all of Mr. Kerry's medals were reissued.
Mr. Lipscomb appears to have the answers to Kerry's refusal to release his records.

Roe v. Wade
Been thinking about Roe v. Wade. I am trying to understand what the heck The Great Pretender meant when he was replying to a question about tax-funded abortion during the second debate.
"... you have to afford people their constitutional rights" ... "that means" ... "making certain that you don't deny a poor person the right to be able to have whatever the Constitution affords them if they can't afford it otherwise." -- John Kerry
So. Did Roe v. Wade determine that there is a Constitutional "Right to Privacy" with respect to a woman's body, health and medical decisions? Or did Rove v. Wade determine that there is a Constitutional Right to an Abortion?
According to The Great Pretender, if you can't afford the right to privacy, the taxpayers must provide it for you? I would like to know, how much does the right to privacy cost? Last time I looked, it was free.
In a nutshell, what Kerry is saying is, not only does he support abortion, but he supports the notion that abortion should be funded by tax dollars.
Well. I'm thinking... tax funded boob jobs are next. Sure, a little lift, why not? After all, a boob job is a private medical procedure. I am a woman, I have a constitutional right to choose to have such a procedure. But, problem is, I can't afford to have a boob job.
Under the Kerry interpretation of the Constitution, I have a constitutional right to have a boob job. If you don't pay for my boob job, you are denying me my constitutional rights. So cough up some cash.
Abortion is a legal medical procedure that a woman can choose to have, if she so desires. Yeah well, a boob job fits that criteria as well.
To say I have a right to have one and if I can't afford to have one, then the taxpayers have to pay for it is as close to insanity as you can get.

Top Kerry Donor Accused of Aiding Radical Iranian Clerics
(CNSNews.com) - A pro-democracy Iranian group based in the United States accuses a top fund-raiser for Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry of using his position to advance the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Kerry fund-raiser, New York-based investment banker Hassan Nemazee, is scheduled to be deposed in a civil lawsuit next week involving accusations that he has served as an agent for the Islamic government of Iran.
A group of Iranian expatriates, the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran, and two American authors plan to hold a press conference on Thursday to discuss the Iranian regime's influence on Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign.
Ken Timmerman, author of several books on the Middle East, believes that Kerry "has adopted many of the positions that Tehran's lobbyists in America are tying to champion."

Don't you know...
In Boston, nearly everyone has heard the words "Don't you know who I am?" Those words have been used by The Great Pretender to bully his way through life in nearly every instance imaginable.
And now... as is to be expected... those words are being used by Kerry and his supporters to bully his way into the White House.
On DaySide with Linda Vester today on Fox News, Kerry Campaign spokesman Chad Clanton was discussing Sinclair Broadcasting Group plans to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service.
Clanton stated: "They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."
Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses.
Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.
Indeed. We know exactly who you are John Kerry and what you are as well.
Thanks Al for the tip...

Jimmy Carter, eat your heart out.
You know there is something seriously wrong with the world when things like this happen.
On Sunday, Libya awarded its annual Moammar Gadhafi Human Rights Award.
How can there be a "Moammar Gadhafi Human Rights Prize?"
What's next? The "Adolph Hitler Religious Tolerance Award?"
What the heck do they know about human rights in Lybia? It would be funny were it not so ridiculous. But, then again, Libya is one of the chairs of the UN Human Rights Commission.
Scary ain't it?
So. Who gets the award? Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Surprised? Why? Previous winners include Cuban President Fidel Castro and South Africa’s President Nelson Mandela.

1973, President Nixon nominated House minority leader Gerald R. Ford of Michigan to succeed Spiro T. Agnew as vice president.
2002, a bomb blamed on Islamic terrorists destroyed a nightclub on the Indonesian island of Bali, killing 202 people, many of them foreign tourists.

Junior Achiever Lies Too
The Junior Achiever is as consistent as The Great Pretender when it comes to lying to the American public...
"I believe we can build a better life for our families, families like the family I grew up with, and communities like Seneca and Robbins, North Carolina. But it has to be based on the values of hard work and responsibility, not accounting tricks and corporate greed." -- John Edwards, Presidential Candidates Debate, Columbia, SC, 5/3/03
Talking about taxes during the Vice Presidential Debate: "To pay for the things that we believe need to be done -- We also want to close some corporate loopholes. -- John Edwards, Vice Presidential Debate, 10/05/04
But... but.... but....
"Edwards, a trial lawyer, set up a professional corporation in 1995, in which he was the sole employee and shareholder. Edwards then paid himself a salary of $ 600,000 and $ 540,000 in 1996 and 1997, according to a personal disclosure statement he was required to file with the secretary of the Senate.
At the same time he collected $5 million each year in dividends from his corporation.
Edwards was required to pay Medicare taxes on his $600,000 salary, but under this arrangement he was not required to pay Medicare taxes on his $5 million in corporate dividends.” (The [Raleigh] News & Observer, 10/14/98)
Jeepers. Edwards deliberately and intentionally defrauded the government and the health care system to avoid paying taxes on $10 million dollars. Using accounting tricks and corporate loopholes.

Columbus Day
The Columbus Day Parade is held today in New York.
Bet ya didn't realize that Christopher Columbus was the world's very first democrat.
Yup.
Consider that he had no idea where he was going, when he got there, he had no idea where he was, so he went home not knowing where he had been.
And he did it all on government money.
Later, he was credited for doing what he did not do for Columbus was not the first to discover America, nor was he the first European to land at America.
However, he was the first to exploit, kill, and enslave the Arawak Indians of Haiti.
A democrat for sure!

Tax Talk 2004
Tax Freedom Day® is the day when Americans will finally have earned enough money to pay off their total tax bill for the year.
So. Guess what kiddies? Tax Freedom Day in 2004 was celebrated on April 11th, the earliest Tax Freedom Day for 37 years. That's right!
"Because the bubble in 1999 and 2000 boosted tax collections to artificially high levels, the drop since then is all the more dramatic. In fact, it is the biggest drop in America's tax burden for at least a century." -- Scott Hodge, President of the Tax Foundation

Thank you George W. Bush! That's right.
The Great Pretender continues to consistently lie about taxes, claiming that Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush but like most of his claims, this claim is easily refuted with data.
Consider that George Bush and John Kerry are both wealthy men. Consider that George Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Consider that Kerry owns four mansions, all worth several million dollars.
Consider that George Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; John Kerry paid $90,000.
That's right! Because of George Bush, you paid less taxes, I paid less taxes, we all paid less taxes. Even John Kerry paid less taxes.

The Number One Threat to America
In response to the outrage and disgust at The Great Pretender's comparison of terrorism to prostitution, Kerry campaign spokesman Phil Singer said:
"The whole article is about how John Kerry recognizes that the war on terror requires a multipronged approach. It's not just the military aspect, but you need diplomacy to be able to enlist your allies. The Bush people have never understood that. John Kerry has always said that terrorism is the No. 1 threat to the U.S."
Really? Are you sure about that Phil? How about a little quote from the first debate:
Lehrer: New question, two minutes, Senator Kerry.
If you are elected president, what will you take to that office thinking is the single most serious threat to the national security to the United States?
Kerry: Nuclear proliferation. Nuclear proliferation. There's some 600-plus tons of unsecured material still in the former Soviet Union and Russia.
It's okay Phil, we understand. Its really hard to tell what The Great Pretender thinks on any given day, at any given time. And really, we don't need John Kerry to tell us what the number one threat to America is. We already know.
The number one threat to America is John Kerry.

Nuisance???
According to Drudge, The Great Pretender told the New York Times:
"We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance..."
Nuisance? When were terrorists just a "nuisance?" When they blew up the USS Cole? When they murdered 240 Marines in Lebanon? When they blew up the WTC the first time?
Send the paramedics. My head just exploded.
WAIT.... I am afraid its worse than I thought.
Kerry considers terrorism to be equal to crime of prostitution. The full quote:
We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance," Kerry said. "As a former law-enforcement person, I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling. But we're going to reduce it, organized crime, to a level where it isn't on the rise. It isn't threatening people's lives every day, and fundamentally, it's something that you continue to fight, but it's not threatening the fabric of your life." -- John Kerry
Pardon me for saying so, but if this man is elected, we are more than screwed, we are fucked.

I Agree With John Kerry
"No seriously — imagine that you struck up a conversation with a relatively informed person who said, "I agree with John Kerry about the war on terror." What, exactly do you think that person would mean?
Would he be trying to communicate that we should stay the course? That we blundered going to war in the first place? That we were right to go to war but handled it wrong since we were there? That it was a good cause? A grand diversion? We should bug out? Finish the job? Or simply that he doesn't know anything about the war except that George Bush is always wrong?" -- From Jonah Goldberg
Oooh, oooh...I'm guessing it's "he doesn't know anything about the war except that George Bush is always wrong"!
In all seriousness, it's amazing to me that we're in a war on terrorism and we have a man running for President who can't coherently explain his own position on the war, whose supporters can't explain it, and whose views have radically shifted time and time again.
It takes a lot of gall to take a joke like John Kerry and try to pretend he's credible on national security, but remember that we're talking about a party that calls ex-KKK member Robert Byrd the "Conscience of the Senate" and Bill Clinton, "The First Black President". So I guess "gall" isn't a problem...
Found this at Right Wing News. Thank you John Hawkins

What Would You Say?
What would you say if you knew that a certain texas oil baron was discovered to have received special oil allocations from Saddam Hussien?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron was discovered to have received the "lion's share" of all special oil allocations from Saddam Hussien?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron earned about $23 million in profits from those special allocations?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron had most likely helped Saddam to pay for purchases of arms in violation of the U.N. sanctions?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron was linked to Enron?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron was a personal friend, public supporter and political ally of Saddam Hussein?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron was Saddam's buddy even when the United States was at war with Hussein?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron also did business with Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron lobbied for the lifting of sanctions against Iraq?
What would you say if you knew that the company owned by that same texas oil baron is now under subpoena from a federal grand jury in the Oil for Food scandal?
What would you say if you knew that the same texas oil baron donated big bucks to a political party?
Whatever you say, you can't say it about George Bush. Because the texas oil baron just so happens to be Oscar Wyatt. His money goes to the democrats and his support goes to John F. Kerry.

Kerry Lied... again
I have to agree with The Great Pretender that if nothing else, he certainly is consistent.
There is no denying the fact that the Great Pretender consistently ignores the truth and consistently lies to America and the rest of world. Earlier lies are detailed here and here.
The Great Pretender consistently lies about Gen. Eric Shinseki, claiming the General was fired because he said the occupation of Iraq would take 10 years and 500,000 troops.
The truth is that General Shinseki served out his full, four-year term as Army CoS and Rummy announced his replacement prior to his "500,000" testimony, and while Rummy may not have been very fond of the General at the time, the truth is that Gen. Shinseki was set to retire before Iraq became an issue.

Kerry on Allies
Oh yes... I'm the Great Pretender... pretending that I'm doing well...
"I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." ... "I have a plan." -- John Kerry, Second Presidential Debate, St. Louis, MO, 10/8/04
I play the game but to my real shame....
Although he continued to tout it last nite, The Great Pretender admits that his great Iraq Plan is no-go, having already conceded before the debate that he probably will not be able to convince France and Germany to contribute troops to Iraq if he is elected president.
The Massachusetts senator has made broadening the coalition trying to stabilize Iraq a centerpiece of his campaign, but at a town hall meeting yesterday, he said he knows other countries won’t trade their soldiers’ lives for those of U.S. troops.
"Does that mean allies are going to trade their young for our young in body bags? I know they are not. I know that," he said.
Oh yes... I'm The Great Pretender... just laughing and gay like a clown...
Asked about that statement later, Mr. Kerry said, "When I was referring to that, I was really talking about Germany and France and some of the countries that had been most restrained."
"Other countries are obviously more willing to accept responsibilities," he added, as he took questions from reporters in a school yard in Tipton, Iowa.
And those other countries are..... who? More of those secret supporters?
We know this, one of those countries is certainly not Poland, who would probably leave the coalition if Kerry is elected.
"It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience underestimates Polish sacrifice, this is sad," Mr. Kwasniewski said in an interview with Poland’s TVN television, saying it was "immoral" to ignore the contributions of Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria and others.
Yup.
Oh yes... too real is this feeling of make believe...

Kerry on Intelligence
Oh yes... I'm The Great Pretender... Just laughing and gay like a clown
"Because the most important weapon in doing that is intelligence. You got to have the best intelligence in the world, and in order to have the best intelligence in the world, to know who the terrorists are, and where they are, and what they're plotting, you've got to have the best cooperation you've ever had in the world." -- John Kerry, Second Presidential Debate, St. Louis, MO, 10/8/04
I seem to be what I'm not you see...
While on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Kerry missed 76% of the public hearings. During Kerry's eight years of service on the Senate's Select Committee on Intelligence, there were 49 open, public hearings. Of these 49, John Kerry attended just 11 (22.4 percent).
In 1994, after the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, Kerry proposed an amendment to cut the intelligence budget by $6 Billion across the board.

Kerry on the Patriot Act
Oh yes... I'm The Great Pretender... Pretending I'm doing well...
"Now, the three things they try to say I’ve changed position on are the Patriot Act. I haven’t. I support it." -- John Kerry, Second Presidential Debate, St. Louis, MO, 10/8/04
My need is such I pretend too much... I'm lying but no one can tell...
"We are a nation of laws and liberties, not of a knock in the night. So it is time to end the era of John Ashcroft. That starts with replacing the Patriot Act with a new law that protects our people and our liberties at the same time. I’ve been a District Attorney and I know that what law enforcement needs are real tools not restrictions on American’s basic rights." -- John Kerry, Remarks At Iowa State University, 12/1/03
"If you are sensitive to and care about civil liberties, you can make provisions to guarantee that there is not this blind spot in the American justice system that there is today under the Patriot Act." -- John Kerry As Quoted On NPR’s 'Morning Edition', 8/18/03

Kerry on Iraq
Oh yes... I'm The Great Pretender... Adrift in a world of my own...
"I've never changed my mind about Iraq. I did believe Saddam Hussein was a threat. I always believed he was a threat – believed it in 1998, when Clinton was president. I wanted to give Clinton the power to use force if necessary." -- John Kerry, Second Presidential Debate, St. Louis, MO, 10/8/04
I play the game... but to my real shame...
October 2002: Kerry Voted For Use Of Force Resolution Against Iraq.
April 2003: Kerry promised not to attack President Bush when the war began but just weeks later, with troops just miles from Baghdad, Kerry broke his pledge and called or a "Regime Change in the United States."
May 2003: In first democrat debate, Kerry strongly supported the President’s action in Iraq.
September 2003: Kerry said voting against the The $87 Billion supplemental would be "irresponsible."
October 2003: Kerry voted against the $87 Billion supplemental supporting our troops.
January 2004: After voting for war and trailing candidate Howard Dean in the democrat primaries, Kerry says he is an "Anti-War Candidate."
August 2004: In response to the President’s question about how he would have voted if he knew then what he knows now, Kerry confirmed
that he would still have voted for the "Use Of Force Resolution."September 2004: Kerry: Iraq is "The wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time."
September 2004: Kerry says there were no circumstances under which we should have gone to war, but he was still right to vote for it. Kerry said that the removal of Saddam Hussein has left America "less secure."
and on whether the Iraq War was worth it, Kerry said: "It depends on the outcome."
I seem to be what I'm not you see...

Wanted: Sugar Daddy
Now that Saddam ain't around, the french are looking for a new Sugar Daddy and it looks like they found one:
Paris, France, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- French President Jacques Chirac is calling on the European Union to lift a long-standing arms embargo against China.
"France supports lifting the embargo," Chirac said in an interview with China's official news agency, Xinhua, adding it no longer reflected present day realities.
The European Union imposed the weapons' ban following China's 1989 crackdown against pro-democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square, in Beijing.
Today, European countries are divided over lifting the embargo, with Sweden and the Netherlands opposed to doing so. The United States is also against it.
Chirac noted "stong reservations" on the part of Washington, but said Paris would push for a swift lifting of the embargo. His remarks were posted on the French presidency's Web site, and came ahead of Chirac's trip to China on Friday.
During his visit, the French president is expected to press for greater trade and foreign investment with China.
Does this pass the Global Test?

Iraq and WMD
Quite frankly, I really don't give a rat's butt whether we find WMDs in Iraq or not. I have no doubt they were there and that they are now in Syria.
Puleeze. Saddam was a power hungry and psychotic dictator sitting on a pile of cold hard cash. He bribed the UN, Russia, France and China. All that was left was to get out from under the watchful eye of the US and its all systems go. So, he let the UN in for a little peek. Didn't work, thanks to George Bush.
Whether WMDs are found in Iraq or not is simply of no moment to me at all. Saddam Hussien is a terrorist who supported other terrorists and he needed to be stopped. If I regret anything that our President and our Military has done, I regret that we captured the bastard alive. He should have been shot while trying to escape.
Reality is that the intelligence concerning WMDs and Iraq was a lot better than the intelligence reports about the possibility of arabs flying planes into buildings pre-9/11. Yet people want to fault George Bush for not acting on poor intelligence and somehow stopping 9/11 before it happened and they want to fault him for acting on good intelligence and stopping a terrorist responsible for the murders of an untold number of people.
I support the War on Terrorism. I support President Bush. I support President Bush's decision to take the War on Terrorism into Iraq.
Meanwhile, The Great Pretender's Junior Achiever told America on Tuesday Nite that there are 60 countries who have members of Al Qaida in them. Sixty countries, but not Iraq. Oh no, not Iraq! Unjust war!
So. If the war in Iraq is really an "unjust war" should we release him? Give him back his palaces? Give him back his people shredders and his torture chambers?

Aim is to Rule out Palestinian State
The Washington Post reports: Ariel Sharon's chief of staff has said the aim of the Israeli prime minister's plan to withdraw from Gaza is to rule out a Palestinian state indefinitely.
Dov Weisglass also effectively dismissed the American-backed "road map" to Middle East peace and claimed Mr Sharon's plan policy had Washington's support.
Mr Weisglass told the Ha'aretz newspaper: "The significance of our disengagement plan is the freezing of the peace process. It supplies the formaldehyde necessary so there is no political process with Palestinians.
"What I effectively agreed to with the Americans was that part of the settlements would not be dealt with at all, and the rest will not be dealt with until the Palestinians turn into Finns."
The blame is placed directly upon Palestinian terrorist suicide bombings and other violence.
Weisglass ruled out talks on critical issues such as Palestinian refugees, borders and the status of Jerusalem in the foreseeable future. "And all this with authority and permission, all with a presidential blessing."
Bush has said Palestinians cannot expect to win statehood unless they stamp out militant attacks on Israel.

Remembering Rodney
When we got married my wife told me I was one in a million. I found out she was right!
I saw my psychiatrist. I told him, "Doc, I keep thinking I'm a dog." He told me to get off his couch.
Oh, when I was a kid, everyone thought I got plenty of girls. I used to go to a drive-in movie and do push-ups in the backseat of my car.
I was making love to one girl, I told her, "You're so flat-chested." She said, "Get off my back."
I said to one girl, "Come on, honey, I'll show you where it's at." She said, "You better, 'cause the last time I couldn't find it."
Oh, when I go to a nude beach, I always take a ruler with me. Yeah, just in case I have to prove something.
Oh, when I was a kid, when my parents went shopping, they always took me with them - that way they could park in a handicapped section.
What a childhood I had, why, when I took my first step, my old man tripped me!
Last week I told my psychiatrist, "I keep thinking about suicide." He told me from now on I have to pay in advance.
I know the best way to get girls. I hang out at prisons and wait for parolees.
Oh, this girl was fat, when she walks backward, she starts beeping. I mean, fat. She asked me why my eyes were bulging, I told her, "You're standing on my foot!"
A lot of girls turn me down. One girl turned me down, she said she had to go to work in the morning. I told her, "I'll be finished by then!"
I tell you, I'm not a sexy guy. I was the centerfold for Playgirl magazine. The staples covered everything!
I'm getting old. I got no sex life. I get tired just holding up the magazine. At my age, I like to get sex over quickly. Then I can get to the nap.
My doctor told me to watch my drinking. Now I drink in front of a mirror. And I drink too much, way too much; my doctor drew blood he ran a tab!
One time my whole family played hide and seek. They found my mother in Pittsburgh!
Oh, last week was a rough week. I noticed my gums were shrinking. I was brushing my teeth with Preparation H.
Oh, my wife loves vacations. The other night she told me, "I wanna go someplace I've never been before." I took her to a men's room.
With girls, I don't think right. I had a date with one girl, she had mirrors all over her bedroom. She told me to come over and bring a bottle. I got Windex.
I'm trying a new diet now. The diet is Viagra and prune juice. I tell ya, I don't know if I'm coming or going.
People say fish is good for a diet. But fish should never be cooked in butter. Fish should be cooked in its natural oils - Texaco, Mobil, Exxon...
Oh, when I was a kid in show business I was poor, I used to go to orgies to eat the grapes.
Oh, when I was a kid I was poor. We were so poor, when my father died; they asked my mother, "Paper or plastic?"
Last night I came home, I walked in the house, I picked up the extension. My wife was having phone sex with some guy. I told the guy, "Don't let her fool you, she's faking it."
I'll tell you one thing, I know how to satisfy my wife in bed, yeah, I leave.
I tell ya, my wife was never nice. On our first date, I asked her if I could give her a goodnight kiss on the cheek - she bent over!
You wanna have laughs? Do what I do. When I go through a tollbooth, I keep going. I tell the guy, "The car behind me is paying for two."
I had a good time last week. I did a show; the whole audience was midgets. I got a standing ovation - I didn't even know it!
I tell ya, with me, sleep is important. Well, last night I went to bed, I couldn't sleep. I started to count sheep - I got horny!
When I was a kid I got no respect. I worked in a pet store. People kept asking how big I get.

Panties?
The Detroit Free Press reports that the Michigan Republican Party is asking four county prosecutors to file charges against filmmaker Michael Moore, charging that he illegally offered underwear, noodles and snacks to college students in exchange for their promise to vote.
Never mind that the law prohibits a person from contracting with another for something of value in exchange for agreeing to vote.
Habitual nonvoters were invited on stage to pledge to vote for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. First-time student voters are offered prizes such as clean underwear. Presumably, the underwear is not Michael's.
The GOP said Moore also offered students a clean dorm room, a year's supply of Tostitos and a package of Ramen noodles.
Hey Mikey... how about a carrot? No? I didn't think so.

Troops Prefer Bush To Kerry
So. The Great Pretender is not fooling our troops! That's right.
What is being hailed as an "unscientific survey" of U.S. military personnel shows they are behind President Bush by a 4-to-1 ratio. The "unscientific survey" was conducted Sept. 15-28 by the Army Times Publishing Co., which distributes the weekly newspapers Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times. (Army Times Publishing is owned by Gannett, which also publishes USA TODAY.)
They received 4,165 responses on a secure Web site. The publisher cautioned that the results are not a scientific poll and for some reason, wants to stress the point that its readers are older, higher in rank and more career-oriented than the military as a whole.
I am sure Gannett was rather put out to publish any survey that showed 73% said they would vote for Bush if the election were held today; 18% said they would vote for Kerry. Too bad. I am sure if it came out for Kerry, "unscientific" would not be mentioned.
Bummer for Gannett and The Great Pretender.
Scientific or not, the experts who examined the survey results said they do not bode well for the Kerry campaign's efforts to woo the military, a traditionally Republican and conservative voting bloc. That's right, a traditionally Republican and conservative group that has strongly supported Republican presidential candidates in the post-Vietnam era.
Of the respondents, 59% identified themselves as Republicans, 20% as independents and 13% as Democrats.
Two-thirds of those responding said The Great Pretender's anti-war activities after he returned from Vietnam make them less likely to vote for him.
Scientific or not, "You can't dismiss" the results, said Peter Feaver, a Duke University political scientist who for years has studied the political leanings of the U.S. military. Feaver said it's unlikely that Bush will receive 70% of votes cast by military personnel. But the results suggest it will be difficult for Kerry to make substantial gains among a group that has strongly supported Republican presidential candidates in the post-Vietnam era.
Feaver said he suspects Kerry is losing support among those in uniform because he seems less committed than Bush to prosecuting the war in Iraq.

The Human Shield Diaries
By early February of 2003, more than 300 Western volunteers had arrived in Baghdad to serve as human shields. By putting their bodies directly into harm's way, they hoped to slow, and ultimately halt, America's rush toward an "unjust and immoral" war. Last week the private journal of one volunteer, Sasha Linbury, a 21-year-old junior at UNLV, was found; it describes her courageous mission as an emissary of global peace.
From the Jan 04 entry:
I was expecting everybody over here to totally hate Americans. But they don't. As soon as they find out you despise America as much as they do, they're totally cool. And it's such a like Zen thing to learn. I mean, we spend all this time wondering if people will like us. But if we could just learn to hate ourselves, then the people who hate us would learn to love us. Do you see?
From the Feb 7 entry:
The whole group had to paint a giant red cross on the roof of the ammonia plant today. So now I'm not only a human shield for American bombs, but I've got this like huge target painted on my roof. What are these people thinking?
