Shoot that piece of shit!
A military jury sentenced a soldier to death Thursday for a grenade and rifle attack on his own comrades during the opening days of the Iraq invasion, a barrage that killed two officers and that prosecutors said was driven by religious extremism.
"He is a hate-filled, ideologically driven murderer," chief prosecutor Lt. Col. Michael Mulligan said. He added that Akbar wrote in his diary in 1997, "My life will not be complete unless America is destroyed."
Well, your life may not be complete Akbar, but on a happy note, your life will soon be over.
See ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya!
(Thanks for the tip Eric!)
If anyone ever deserved a one way ticket straight to hell courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, it's this bastard. Anything less is an insult to the memory of the brave and honorable men whose lives he destroyed. And of course, we must consider the families of the brave and honorable men Akbar killed. They deserve justice.
"Hasan Akbar has robbed me of so many things," Tammie Eslinger, Maj. Gregory Stone's fiancee, said after the sentencing. "He stole my love, my family, my dreams and my future. But he could never steal my spirit."
Seifert's widow, Theresa, said she was satisfied with the military justice system. She called Akbar "a non-entity to me."
We got through the trial, and the sentencing. Now, we can begin to hope that the sentence will be confirmed and carried out. Yes, hopefully, Akbar will soon be a very dead non-entity.

Unsworn Testimony
I wonder if someone, anyone, would be kind enough to explain to me what place "unsworn testimony" has in a legal court proceeding?
Why should Hasan Akbar be permitted to address the jury, without having to do so under oath? Why should the jury consider such a statement? I am not the least bit interested in anything this piece of shit has to say, I have heard enough from him and those like him.
Allowing Akbar to address the jury in such a manner turns the proceeding into a farce.
Consider the facts:
FACT: Hasan Akbar is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder for the deaths of two officers and wounding of 14 others in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at the start of the Iraq war.
FACT: Akbar wrote in his diary that once he was sent to Iraq, "I am going to try and kill as many of them as possible."
FACT: Akbar intended to kill officers in his brigade's leadership, including the brigade commander.
FACT: Before launching the attack, Akbar turned off a generator that plunged the outside area of the officers' camp into darkness.
FACT: Akbar then threw an incendiary grenade into the brigade commander's tent, knowing it would make the three men inside stand up and be vulnerable to shrapnel from a fragmentation grenade.
FACT: At the next tent, occupied by majors, Akbar yelled "We're under attack" so the soldiers inside would stand up, making them better shrapnel targets as well.
FACT: Akbar repeated the procedure at a tent occupied by captains and lieutenants, and waited outside for a target he could hit with rifle fire.
FACT: Akbar planned to do murder, as evidenced by his own words in his diary, and there was a sustained period of contemplation in connection with the murders.
FACT: Akbar is guilty of high treason and murder in the first degree.
FACT: Akbar murdered Army Capt. Christopher Seifert.
FACT: Akbar murdered Air Force Maj. Gregory Stone.
FACT: Akbar attempted to murder at least 14 additional soldiers, all of whom were injured in the attack.
FACT: Akbar has been convicted by a military jury of premeditated murder and attempted murder.
Enough! I wish you Godspeed Jurors, may you come to a swift, just decision and impose the maximum penalty allowable:

Eighty-Six days and still counting...
Yup. It's Tuesday again. and you know what that means:

On January 30, 2005, The Great Pretender once again promised to sign his 180, this time on NBC News’ Meet the Press.
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will.
John F. Kerry, we know who you are, we know what you are, we know where you got your game plan.
It is believed by many that during the summer of 1942, Lyndon B. Johnson perpetuated a fraud against the United States of America to obtain a Silver Star he did not deserve and that he did so to further his political career. There exists personal statements of those who were present claiming the fraud and there is factual evidence, including documentation to back up the claims of fraud.
The story of Lyndon B. Johnson and the Heckling Hare gives rise to the question, what did John F. Kerry know and when did he know it? The details of Johnson's fraud read like a script of Kerry's actions in Vietnam. Unlike Kerry, Johnson was never forced to address the discrepancies in the story of the Operation Tow-9. Kerry, in the face of a flurry of accusations of fraud, has not addressed the discrepancies either and has instead attacked the messenger, making an issue of not only the honesty and integrity of his accusers, but their motives as well.
Yes, we know what you did.
We know. And so, it is no surprise to those of us who know you that eighty-six days have passed and still, no 180.
My prediction stands: John Kerry will never sign the 180, never! Why? Because he is a low-life scum sucking piece of shit liar.
That's right, John F. Kerry is a low-life scum sucking piece of shit liar, as evidenced by this video, provided to me by my new friend Sal. Great job on the video Sal, keep up the good work!
Today I sent yet another email to the low-life scum sucking piece of shit liar reminding him of his promise to America.

I will send the low-life scum sucking piece of shit liar an email with a link to the form every Tuesday for the rest of his lying scum sucking piece of shit life.

Deliberations Begin
UPDATE: GUILTY!!!!
Akbar has been convicted by a military jury of premeditated murder and attempted murder in a grenade and rifle attack that killed two of his comrades and wounded 14 others. He now faces a possible death penalty, which the 15-member jury will consider at a hearing that begins Monday.
He may be muslim, but he ain't crazy.

They shoot horses, don't they?
Life often imitates art, which often imitates life.
MIAMI (Reuters) - Fed up with his troublesome car, a Florida man fired five rounds from a semi-automatic pistol into the hood of the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron.
"I'm putting my car out of its misery," 64-year-old John McGivney said after the incident outside an apartment building in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, according to a police report that listed the car as "deceased."
McGivney surrendered to police, was jailed on a firearms charge on Friday and released on bond a day later. He told them the car had been giving him trouble for years.
"I think every guy in the universe has wanted to do it," the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Wednesday quoted McGivney as saying. "It was worth every damn minute in that jail."

I hate moving!
So? Bad for me, but good for you. Why? Because since I don't really have time to update, I'm sending you elsewhere today.
Get on over to Moonbattery. Why? Because you need to read about this. No one, and I mean no one, says it quite like Van Helsing.
Six Meat Buffet tells us the tragic story of Marla Ruzicka, American "peace activist" blown up by a car bomb in Iraq this weekend. Humph.
Here is your opportunity to head on over to The Armageddon Project and get the scoop on Abraham Lincoln. Was he really a liberal? Obviously not. While you're there, you can find out what happened to PETA in Texas. Hilarious!
While you're clicking, stop by SlagleRock's Slaughterhouse, and have a darn good time! I'm still laughing at this, this and this!
Don't miss Jack Army, he has some interesting commentary on counter-recruiters, thank you Jack for taking that story and doing a bang-up job on it. Just another reason why you are one my heroes!
And the Delftsman over at Emigre with a Digital Cluebat is having a bit of fun, be sure to check him out.
Okay, so... the Evil White Guy gets an honorable mention for this. And this. Evil indeed.
That's all for now. More later... maybe.

How did the enemy get into our camp?
That's what Bart Womack, a command sergeant major of the elite 101st Airborne Division, asked himself as a grenade rolled past him after 1 a.m. on Sunday at an American camp in Kuwait.
The attacker worked methodically, destroying an electricity generator, throwing grenades into Womack's tent and the two other command tents, then shooting tents.
The U.S. government's initial response to this attack reflected the usual view that violence by American Muslims is not to be considered to be motivated by terrorism. Consider the sugar-coated explanations for previous incidents:
"A prescription drug for or consistent with depression" to explain why El Sayyid A. Nosair in 1990 shot Rabbi Meir Kahane.
"Road rage" to explain why Rashid Baz in 1994 shot a Hassidic boy on the Brooklyn Bridge.
"Many, many enemies in his mind" to explain why Ali Hasan Abu Kamal in 1997 shot a tourist on the Empire State Building's observation deck.
"A work dispute" as why Hesham Mohamed Ali Hadayet in 2002 shot two people at the El Al counter of Los Angeles International Airport.
And then there is the case of Gamal Abdel-Hafiz, an FBI agent whose colleagues say he twice refused to record conversations with suspected financiers of militant Islamic terrorism ("A Muslim does not record another Muslim").
When it comes to Akbar, U.S. Army spokespersons talk about an "attitude problem," a desire for "retribution" and "resentment." Without any evidence whatsoever, the chief chaplain at Akbar's Fort Campbell, Ky., home base claimed that the incident is "not an expression of faith."
Ignoring the fact that these attacks fit a sustained pattern of political violence by American Muslims amounts to willful self-deception.
The Los Angeles Times quoted Akbar after he was apprehended, "You guys are coming into our countries, and you're going to rape our women and kill our children."
When will America acknowledge what is staring us in the face?

Akbar wrote in his diary that once he was sent to Iraq, "I am going to try and kill as many of them as possible."
Prosecutors have said Akbar told investigators he was worried that U.S. forces would harm fellow Muslims in the Iraq war.
Another entry said: "I will have to decide to kill my Muslim brothers fighting for Saddam Hussein or my battle buddies. I am hoping to get into a position so I don't have to take any crap from anyone anymore."
Elsewhere, he wrote: "I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the Army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill."
In the end, Akbar made his choice, he killed Army Capt. Christopher Seifert, 27, was shot in the back, and Air Force Maj. Gregory Stone, 40, suffered 83 shrapnel wounds. Another 14 soldiers were injured.
There can be no doubt that Akbar planned to do murder, that there was a sustained period of contemplation in connection with the murder.
Premiditated: : characterized by fully conscious willful intent and a measure of forethought and planning, i.e. premeditated murder.
Akbar's own words in his personal diary are an admission of guilt and he cannot be proven innocent of high treason, and, murder in the first degree. The trial is a charade of justice and a waste of time.
There can be only one response:

Anything less is an insult to the memory of those brave and honorable men and women of the United States Military.
I support the Defenders of Freedom.
I support our Troops.

Where is the outrage?
Val over at BabaluBlog asks this very important question, pointing out that you can "scour every single component of the MSM and you will not find many - if any - articles on Cuba's political prisoners. Men and women rotting away in jails, prisoners of conscience, treated inhumanely by their jailers, lacking decent food and any kind of medical care whatsoever and not a damn peep by the self-appointed purveyors of truth and justice Mainstream Media."
Val points us to a website detailing some of those jailed in Cuba.
I have pondered the question asked by Val many times myself, with no answer forthcoming. I have scoured the news myself, to no avail. I read every name, I looked closely at each and every one of the photos on that site, but the one face I looked for, I did not see. The one name I searched for, I could not find.
I cannot contemplate the horrors faced by each of those men, horrors shared by my friend Walter van der Veer.

Walter van der Veer is an American citizen, abandoned by his country, sentenced to 15 years of hell in a Cuban prison, forgotten by everyone but his family, and of course, me. No one else seems to care.
Sadly for Walter, members of the Cuban Exile community here in South Florida seem only to care about fellow Cubans who suffer in Cuba's jail. I have never been able to get any one of them to talk about Walter or to show any measure of support.
Are you still alive Walter? I honestly do not know, but if you are, you're halfway through your sentence, halfway home. I pray for you every day. It is hard to hope, yet, I do.

Dear Peace-nik
Marc Fencil wrote a letter to his fellow students over at OU. It makes darn good reading and is yet another reason to be darn proud of those serving in the United States Military.
It's a shame that I'm here in Iraq with the Marines right now and not back at Ohio University completing my senior year and joining in blissful ignorance with the enlightened, war-seasoned protesters who participated in the recent "die-in" at College Gate.
Make sure you all say your goodbyes to your loved ones though, because you won't be seeing them for at least the next nine months. You need to get here quick because I don't want you to miss a thing. You missed last month's discovery of a basement full of suicide vests from the former regime (I'm sure Saddam's henchmen just wore them because they were trendy though). You weren't here for the opening of a brand new school we built either. You might also notice women exercising their new freedom of walking to the market unaccompanied by their husbands.
There is a man here, we just call him al-Zarqawi, but we think he'd be delighted to sit down and give you some advice on how you can further disrespect the victims of Sept. 11 and the 1,600 of America's bravest who have laid down their lives for a safer world. Of course he'll still call you "infidel" but since you already agree that there is no real evil in the world, I see no reason for you to be afraid. Besides, didn't you say that radical Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance?
I'm warning you though -it's not going to be all fun and games over here. You might have bad dreams for the next several nights after you zip up the body bag over a friend's disfigured face. I know you think that nothing, even a world free of terror for one's children, is worth dying for, but bear with me here. We're going to live in conditions you've never dreamt about. You should get here soon though, because the temperatures are going to be over 130 degrees very soon and we will be carrying full combat loads (we're still going to work though). When it's all over, I promise you can go back to your coffee houses and preach about social justice and peace while you continue to live outside of reality.
If you decide to decline my offer, then at least you should sleep well tonight knowing that men wearing black facemasks and carrying AK-47s yelling "Allahu Akbar" over here are proud of you and are forever indebted to you for advancing their cause of terror. While you ponder this, I'll get back to the real "die-in" over here. I don't mind.
If you want to give Marc an "attaboy", you can e-mail him at : marc.fencil@ohiou.edu.
Be warned though, if you use that address to slander Marc or his compatriots, expect a visit from the one and only Delftsman.

MMP - Gotcha!
Two days into the Minuteman Project and eighteen criminals have been arrested.
Volunteers for an effort to patrol the Mexican border reported their first sighting of suspected illegal immigrants, resulting in 18 arrests, authorities said Sunday.
Participants in the Minuteman Project saw the migrants Saturday near Naco as the volunteers were surveying the border to familiarize themselves with the area. When agents arrived, they apprehended 18 people, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said.
"You observe them, report them and get out of the way," said Mike McGarry, a spokesman for the project, which begins today and is to continue for a month.
All of America owes these brave men a thank you for protecting our borders.

Living on Zionist Time
In most parts of the world, the switch away from Daylight Saving Time proceeds smoothly. But in 1999, the time change raised havoc with Palestinian terrorists.
Israel made a premature switch from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time in order to accommodate a week of pre-sunrise prayers. Palestinians refused to live on "Zionist Time." Two weeks of scheduling havoc ensued. Nobody knew the "correct" time.
At precisely 5:30pm on Sunday, two coordinated car bombs exploded in different cities, killing three terrorists who were transporting the bombs. It was initially believed that the devices had been detonated prematurely by klutzy amateurs. A closer look revealed the truth behind the explosions.
The bombs had been prepared in a Palestine-controlled area, and set to detonate on Daylight Saving Time. But the confused drivers had already switched to Standard Time. When they picked up the bombs, they neglected to ask whose watch was used to set the timing mechanism. As a result, the cars were still en-route when the explosives — one hour too early — killing three terrorists instead of two busloads of people.
Think its funny? I don't, for I have seen Three Days In Israel.

April Showers
Life is not a highway
strewn with flowers.
Still it holds
a goodly share of bliss.
When sun give way to April showers,
Here's a point that you should never miss,
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
So, if it's raining, have no regrets.
Because it isn't raining rain, you know,
It's raining violets.
And when you see clouds upon the hills.
You soon will see crowds of daffodils.
So, keep looking for the bluebird
And list'ning for his song,
Whenever April showers come along.
