Shoot that piece of shit!
A military jury sentenced a soldier to death Thursday for a grenade and rifle attack on his own comrades during the opening days of the Iraq invasion, a barrage that killed two officers and that prosecutors said was driven by religious extremism.
"He is a hate-filled, ideologically driven murderer," chief prosecutor Lt. Col. Michael Mulligan said. He added that Akbar wrote in his diary in 1997, "My life will not be complete unless America is destroyed."
Well, your life may not be complete Akbar, but on a happy note, your life will soon be over.
See ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya!
(Thanks for the tip Eric!)
If anyone ever deserved a one way ticket straight to hell courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, it's this bastard. Anything less is an insult to the memory of the brave and honorable men whose lives he destroyed. And of course, we must consider the families of the brave and honorable men Akbar killed. They deserve justice.
"Hasan Akbar has robbed me of so many things," Tammie Eslinger, Maj. Gregory Stone's fiancee, said after the sentencing. "He stole my love, my family, my dreams and my future. But he could never steal my spirit."
Seifert's widow, Theresa, said she was satisfied with the military justice system. She called Akbar "a non-entity to me."
We got through the trial, and the sentencing. Now, we can begin to hope that the sentence will be confirmed and carried out. Yes, hopefully, Akbar will soon be a very dead non-entity.

I'm delighted with the jury's decision, the appellate process may still be a problem, but the most distressing thing is the lack of execution of the sentences by the system at Ft. Leavenworth. He's far from dead, but until then, he's not in the civilian hotel system we call prisons. I only wish he'd been tried, convicted and executed by firing squad in Iraq. Maybe we can chip in and dishonor a pig to be executed and buried along with this piece of shit.

It's my understanding that the appeals procedure is automatic. Sadly, it will be a long time before the sentence is carried out.
