WYSIWYG
Caroline Glick sums up the Palestinian State:
Leaders worldwide are so busy speaking of how essential it is for a State of Palestine to be founded that none of them seems to have noticed that it already exists.
This state was officially founded in the summer of 2005, when Israel removed its military forces and civilian population from the Gaza Strip and so established the first wholly independent Palestinian state in history.
And so it is that as statesmen and activists worldwide loudly proclaim their commitment to establishing the sovereign State of Palestine, they miss the fact that Palestine exists. And it is a nightmare.
In the State of Palestine 88 percent of the public feels insecure. Perhaps the other 12 percent are members of the multitude of regular and irregular militias. For in the State of Palestine the ratio of police/militiamen/men-under-arms to civilians is higher than in any other country on earth.
In the State of Palestine, two-year-olds are killed and no one cares. Children are woken up in the middle of the night and murdered in front of their parents. Worshipers in mosques are gunned down by terrorists who attend competing mosques. And no one cares. No international human rights groups publish reports calling for an end to the slaughter. No UN body condemns anyone or sends a fact-finding mission to investigate the murders.
In the State of Palestine, women are stripped naked and forced to march in the streets to humiliate their husbands. Ambulances are stopped on the way to hospitals and wounded are shot in cold blood. Terrorists enter operating rooms in hospitals and unplug patients from life-support machines.
This is Palestine. Enter at your own risk.

Armed America
Next year, you'll find this book on my coffee table:

The question of gun ownership in America is a fractious one. Even the number of guns in the country is in significant debate. The National Rifle Association (NRA), the country's largest pro-gun lobbying group, quotes the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE)'s estimate that in 1999 there were about 215,000,000 guns in America and one gun in about half of the households in the country. The Brady Campaign (the nation's leading anti-gun coalition) estimates there are 192,000,000 guns in America, owned by 39% of the population.
This isn't a book about guns. It's a book about people.

Celebrating Islamic Style
Its that time of year, again, for the peaceful followers of peaceful Islam to take some time off from peaceful rioting, burning, pillaging, beheading infidels, killing Jews and killing each other in the name of their peaceful g0d to peacefully celebrate the peaceful holy islamic holiday of Ashura.
In order to participate, you will need a sharp sword and metal chains to flagellate yourself in this unique Religion of Peace ceremony. You will also need white robes to show off the blood and gore to your fellow celebrants. Children, horses and yes, even sheep are expected to participate.
Some of you may be horrified to see these pictures but you are urged to remember that this is but one more way to worship the Prophet of Doom a/k/a Allah, and despite appearances to the contrary, this is a religion and not a cult. In fact, it is "The Religion of Peace."

Therefore, this type of behavior is not to be considered abuse, even when it is children who are being beaten and bloodied with swords and chains.

Remember, there's no crying allowed.
So shut up and enjoy the show. You might as well get used to these images, after all, if the left has its way, you will soon be able to view these things first hand in the streets of America. In fact, you will probably be expected to participate, that is, of course, if you would like to keep your head.

This year's photos, like last year's photos, really capture the spiritual side of islam:

yes, those are sheep.
Feel like praying yet? I do. I'm praying for an end to the kind of evil that could do something like this:

The origins of Ashura: When the Omayyad Moslem army arrived at Karbala, Ali, the last blood relative of Mohammed found that his cowardly army had deserted him. He rode out with about 30 of his closest followers, and they were slaughtered. Muslims flaggelate and mutilate themselves on the each anniversary of his death to show remorse for deserting him before the battle.

Bloody Hands
Today, in Israel, a 21-year-old Gaza resident and member of Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades blew himself up in an Eilat "Lachmim" bakery, murdering three people and wounding others.

Al Aksa is, of course, part of Fatah, the United States' preferred terrorist group, armed and sponsored by our State Department through Israel's Partner in Peace, Mohammed Abbas to the tune of billions of dollars every year.
This is the first time there has been a terrorist suicide bombing in the southernmost city of Eilat. Meanwhile, Qassam rockets continue to rain down near Sederot and Ashkelon while rocks and molotov cocktails are thrown at Jews in other cities.
Rumors are making the rounds that the Israeli Government is planning to "temporarily" evacuate Israelis from communities around the Gaza strip, to protect Jews from slaughter by terrorists who have moved into Gaza.
Considering the success of the evacuation of Gaza for the same reason, and the cooperation of our State Department in providing money and arms to the terrorists, we can only assume that eventually, little by little, town by town, inch by inch, the Israeli Government will evacuate the entire State of Israel to protect Jews from slaughter by palestinian terrorists.
And then, the terrorist dream of destroying the Little Satan will have been made true, with the help of the United States and with the approval of the international community. And then, the palestinians can turn their full attention to the terrorist dream of destroying the Big Satan, using the same ways and means.
-----------------
UPDATE: The proud mother of a murderer speaks:
The mother of Muhammad Faisal Saksak, the 21-year-old suicide bomber who carried out Monday's attack in Eilat, said she was aware of her son's plan to blow himself up and that she had wished him "good luck."
"I wished him good luck and I knew of his decision to become a martyr. Although I was aware of his intention, I did not know exactly when he was planning to carry out a martyrdom attack."
The mother of nine said she was proud of her son for carrying out the suicide attack.
Ruwaidah said she was prepared to "sacrifice" all her sons "for the sake of the Aksa Mosque and Palestine."
and the wife of a murderer speaks:
Muhammad's wife, Nadia, said she shared the family's sense of "pride" for what her husband did.
"When I heard that he was martyred, I felt very proud of him," she said. "Why shouldn't I feel so when I know that he died for the sake of Palestine and Al-Aksa? It's much better than dying in the internal fighting between Fatah and Hamas."
These are Israel's partners in peace, and they flourish with the help of our state department and the international community. If they were your neighbors, you would kill them before you allowed them to kill your family.

A Rendezvous With Destiny
The more things change, the more they remain the same:
There is no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there is only one guaranteed way you can have peace--and you can have it in the next second--surrender.
Admittedly there is a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face--that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand--the ultimatum. And what then? When Nikita Khrushchev has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we are retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and someday when the time comes to deliver the ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary because by that time we will have weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he has heard voices pleading for "peace at any price" or "better Red than dead," or as one commentator put it, he would rather "live on his knees than die on his feet." And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us. You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin--just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard 'round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn't die in vain. Where, then, is the road to peace? Well, it's a simple answer after all.
You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, "There is a price we will not pay." There is a point beyond which they must not advance. This is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater's "peace through strength." Winston Churchill said that "the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits--not animals." And he said, "There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."
You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on Earth, or we will sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.

The latest from HuffPo
Greg Gutfeld has the clue bat out...
Whenever I visit this lovely blog, I usually run into someone - a "leftist," if you will - who finds pleasure in things that make our country or the President look bad. I suppose I could say these angry types are no better than cheerleaders for terrorism. After all, both entities - the left and terrorists - seem to share the same desire: to put the US, humiliatingly, in its place.
But I would be wrong to say such things. Very wrong. Of course, "dissent is patriotic," and the left is only critical of America because it simply loves our country much more than I do.
That's why calling them terrorists would be intolerant and pretty shameful.
But what about "patriotic terrorists?"

What is a patriotic terrorist?
It is an American who claims to love his or her country while enjoying the enemy's success against said country. It is a person who gets deeply offended if you question their patriotism, while also appearing to share the same ideals of the more spirited folk who like to blow up innocent people.
Patriotic terrorists love America with so much intensity that it appears to the untrained eye that they hate it. But it's actually the most powerful form of "tough love" known to man, woman and Rosie O'Donnell. Patriotic terrorists love America so much that they realize it needs an intervention - and real terror is the only way to enable that intervention. In fact, to keep a mammoth, arrogant superpower like America in check, terrorism is the only thing we've got.
Hey, I bet you've probably wondered why Al Qaeda hasn't struck in the US since 9/11. They don't have to. It has its own offshoot franchise here at work already. Patriotic Terrorists.
From a rally of patriots
Think about how much both groups have in common!
-Both patriotic terrorists and Al Qaeda want the US to abandon Iraq, for that reveals Bush and America to be monstrous, laughable failures. It does not matter to either group that the withdrawal from Iraq will make post-Vietnam look like an afternoon at Ikea shopping for a Hoggbo innerspring mattress.
-For patriotic terrorists and real terrorists, car bombs going off is music to their ears. It proves that you can't offer democracy to troubled countries, as long as you've got terrorists standing in your way. And that's great news for everyone who believes in checks and balances between the haves and the have nots! (Note: "haves" means the US. "Have nots" means those who hate the US)
-Patriotic terrorists and the more committed terrorists both believe that infractions at Guantanamo Bay are far worse than anything a genocidal dictator could muster, and such horrors possess far more PR potential in denigrating the US than anything involving Ed Begley Jr.
-Both patriotic terrorists and Al Qaeda terrorists believe the US desires to control the Middle East, empower evil Israel and expand it's power base at the expense of innocent Arab lives. But both groups also realize that the US is too stupid to achieve these goals - and that makes being a patriotic terrorist loads of fun!

Are you a patriotic terrorist?
If you are intensely critical of the US, while tolerating homicidal enemies who condemn everything you previously claimed you are for - human rights, voting rights, gay rights, women's rights, porn - then you're a patriotic terrorist.
If you talk about tolerance constantly - and hilariously tolerate genocide and suicide bombers because those actions undermine your more intimate opposition, the American right - then you're a patriotic terrorist.
The only difference between a patriotic terrorist and a real one? Real terrorists are simply patriotic terrorists who've taken the extra step - choosing to actually die for their beliefs - rather than simply talking about them at Spago. If Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Michael Moore, and their ilk had real cojones, they'd all be wearing cute black vests - but stuffed with more than dog-eared copies of Deterring Democracy.
Heads are once again exploding over at HuffPo, and that should generate at least a few more signatures for the petition to get Greg Gutfeld off HuffPost, and the petition to support the petition to get Greg Gutfeld off HuffPo! Who knows, we may even get a petition to suppport the petition to support the petition to get Greg Gutfeld off HuffPo.

Run for your lives...
Oh, those evil joos...

Beirut - Israeli planes violated Lebanese airspace Saturday and dumped green balloons over the southern port city of Tyre, Lebanese security sources said.
Lebanese troops cordoned off the area around the coast of Tyre and prevented people from touching the 'suspicious balloons' after reports indicated that some people were poisoned when they did.
According to a hospital source in Nabatiyeh, similar green balloons were dropped over the market-town of Nabatiyeh, 54 kilometres south of Beirut.
Five people suffering from nausea and dizziness were brought into hospital after they touched the 'suspicious green balloons,' the source said.
(IsraelNN.com) An Israeli newspaper released green balloons during a promotional event on Saturday in the North. Some of the balloons were carried by the wind across the border to southern Lebanon. Residents of the towns of Tyre and Nabatiyeh notified the Lebanese army of the strange balloons, and were warned not to touch them. The balloons were gathered into a cluster and destroyed in a controlled explosion.
Lebanese official media reported that the balloons were poisoned, and were part of an Israeli attack. Residents claimed that the balloons were dropped from IDF aircraft. Residents were apparently confused by the writing on the balloons as well: the balloons carried the name of the newspaper, HaIr, which somewhat resembles the Hebrew word for “caution,” Hizaher. Hizbullah’s news station, Al-Manar, reported that the balloons bore the word “caution” in Hebrew and claimed that several locals were hospitalized after inhaling the balloons' gas.
Oh my.

Shabbat Shalom
Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the first manifestation of the approach of our redemption. Shield it with Your loving kindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory.
Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness. Lead them, swiftly and upright, to Your city Zion and to Jerusalem, the abode of Your Name, as is written in the Torah of Your servant Moses: “Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the Lord your God will gather you, from there He will fetch you. And the Lord your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers.”
Draw our hearts together to revere and venerate Your name and to observe all the precepts of Your Torah, and send us quickly the Messiah son of David, agent of Your vindication, to redeem those who await Your deliverance.
Manifest yourself in the splendor of Your boldness before the eyes of all inhabitants of Your world, and may everyone endowed with a soul affirm that the Lord, God of Israel, is king and his dominion is absolute.
Amen

Take The Pledge!

If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

It's the Year of the Pig
And not just any year of the pig - it just happens to be the Year of the Golden Pig!
There are 12 animals in the Asian horoscope, and each sign comes around once every 12 years. Put together in a combination with elements such as water, fire and earth, each year is characterized to certain special meaning. Twelve different signs with five elements means you have 60 possible combinations.
The Golden Pig Year - calculated through yin-and-yang theory - happens only every 600 years.
It happens once every 600 years, and China kowtows to moslems:
Next month, China will ring in the Year of the Pig. Nestlé SA planned to celebrate with TV ads featuring a smiling cartoon pig. "Happy new pig year," the ads said.
This week, China Central Television, the national state-run TV network, banned Nestlé's ad -- and all images and spoken references to the animal in commercials, including those tied to the Lunar New Year, China's biggest holiday.
The intent: to avoid offending Muslims, who consider pigs unclean.
This, from a country that consistently suppresses any dissent, especially from its moslem population. Any sign of trouble in any moslem providence in China, the Army goes in, and like magic, ten percent of the jihadists disappear, never to be heard from again. If that don't do the trick, well, they just round up another ten percent. China doesn't give a crap about how moslems feel, this is just China looking to score propaganda points off the West.
Well screw them damn moslems, I'm celebrating!

Hat tip to Fausta for this one!

A Pledge worth taking!
A pledge worth taking if you care about national security.
From Hugh Hewitt:
I accept this pledge.
Also, from Hugh:
Take the pledge, and tell the NRSC:
NRSC
Ronald Reagan Republican Center
425 2nd Street, NE
Washington, DC 20002
202.675.6000
webmaster@gopsenators.comThen e-mail Senator McConnell and Senator Ensign, and tell them too. Senator McConnell's phone number is (202) 224-2541. Senator Ensign's phone number is (202) 224-6244.
GOP activists and donors built the GOP senate delegation, as well as the majority that was punted away. They can disassemble it as well, and GOP support for a neoappeasement resolution is exactly the way to start that process.
The Congressional GOP has to realize it cannot have it both ways --you can't be for victory after you were against it.
And GOP senators --alone or as a group-- definitely cannot count on the support of the base if any of them vote for appeasement.
As my good friend Beth put it:
You can take the pledge online at The Truth Laid Bear, and the NRSC will be notified. And since it’s online, so will anyone who cares–i.e., others on the Hill that are watching. And they ARE watching. This matters, y’all. This isn’t just about supporting Bush; it’s about showing the Iraqis that we are not weak-kneed, fair-weather friends to those who need our help, and that we aren’t afraid to do what it takes to get the job done. Y’all know that’s what those serving in uniform are waiting for, because they aren’t going all wobbly. It’s their lives on the line. Too bad some in the Senate place their own “political survival” higher in their priorities than the actual lives of our troops and our national security.
Others who have taken the pledge:

Lesson of the day:
When it comes to dealing with palestinians, checkpoints, bulldozers and rubber bullets are bad, while torture with electric drills and flat out murder is good:
Shi'ite Muslims have killed more than 600 Sunni Muslims who live in Iraqi camps and claim Israel as their homeland, foreign news services reported. Iraqi police said many of the victims were tortured with electric drills.
When it comes to killing "palestinians," no one does it better than moslems.
Shi'ite militias are increasing efforts to drive out the remaining 20,000 Arabs, who were welcomed by former dictator Saddam Hussein and were given free education and housing. "We are sure that all the Palestinians in Iraq are involved in killing the Shi'ite people and they have to pay the price now," said Shi'ite terrorist Sheikh Mahmoud Al Hassani.
Now, imagine what the world outrage would be like if that was said by Israel.

Where there is life, there is hope
I believe that, I always have and I always will.
But, hope is not enough, we must be proactive, we must take an active part in our survival because without life, there is no hope.
In his essay, This Place Called Hope, Mr. Gordis is brutally honest. Its a must-read.
A century ago, the early Zionist ideologues promised the Jews that if a Jewish state were created, there would finally be one place on earth where Jews could be safe. It might not be big, it might not be beautiful, but it would be safe. Here, it was said, Jews would be able to defend themselves. Here, it was said, they would be spared the capriciousness of the world.
~snip~
As the rockets flew over the entire north, few people in Israel missed the irony of the fact that it’s now more dangerous to be a Jew in Israel (at least in certain periods, like in Jerusalem during the Intifada, or in Haifa during the war) than in any other place in the world.
~snip~
And if Hezbollah wasn’t bad enough, Israelis are asking, what about Iran? What will happen when they get the bomb? What does it mean for Jews, and for Zionism, that just seventy years after the world conspired to let the Jews be erased, more than half the world’s Jewish children (i.e., those living in Israel) could soon live in the crosshairs of a nuclear-armed maniacal Muslim fanatic? That’s a refuge? That’s success for Zionism? What does it mean that the world is clearly demonstrating that it is willing to watch this happen and not intervene?
~snip~
Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Darfur – all conflicts that have taken infinitely more lives than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – receive nowhere near the attention that Israel does. Thousands are raped and butchered in Darfur, and days go by with scarcely a mention in the world’s papers. There are 200,000 child soldiers in Sierra Leone alone, but who even knows about that? Yet one protester ignores IDF warnings to stay out of the way and accidentally gets crushed by a bulldozer, and the world goes ape. Then Broadway produces a (bad) play about her. This is normalcy?
~snip~
Jimmy Carter writes a book calling Israel an Apartheid state, and despite the numerous reviews which point to the book’s unfairness and numerous errors of fact, the book rockets to the bestseller list. In the United States, not Egypt. It should be lost on no one that people tend to buy books that espouse positions with which they agree.
~snip~
If it’s unthinkable that more than half the world’s Jews could live in Ahmadenijad’s crosshairs, then we’d better figure out what we’re going to do. The world won’t stop him. Will we? What kind of power would we be willing to use to put an end to Iran’s nuclear capabilities? Would be it moral to use weapons we’ve never used if that’s what it would take? Would be it moral not to, if the future of the Jewish people is at stake? How much are the Jews willing to do in order to survive?
~snip~
The problem isn’t Olmert, or Katzav. This is not about Israel. It’s not even about Zionism. It’s about the future of what we call the Jewish people. Hezbollah gets that. Hamas gets it. Ahmadinejad gets it. Gaarder gets it.
Why don’t we?
~snip~
Why don't we get it?
Reality is, when people talk about ridding the world of Jews, they are talking about me, and my family.

When it comes to human rights
The footage is shocking: A man lies screaming on the floor of a police station as officers sodomize him with a wooden pole.
Compounding the shock, it turns out that it was the police who made the film, and that they then transmitted it to the cell phones of the victim's friends in order to humiliate him.
The video is here, if you think you can stomach it.
In case you were wondering, Egypt is predominantly moslem, with moslems comprising 90% of the population. In fact, islam is the official state religion.
I guess its a good thing they are on the UN's Human Rights Committee, so they can investigate this kind of stuff.

and now... Nazi News
The level of ignorance displayed in this video by "Mich Bubba" is no less than amazing. Avi Shafran explains:
The conspiracy Mr. Bubba proudly exposes is the “Jewish tax” that hides in plain sight from unsuspecting non-Jews in secret code on food packaging. Long familiar to Hebrews of traditional bent, the various kosher symbols (the popular “u” inscribed in an “o” that is a trademark of the Orthodox Union – which Bubba calls the “United Rabbinical Council” – as well as myriad graphic riffs on the letter “k”) are indications that the product so marked was produced under the supervision of a rabbi expert in the intricacies of both kosher law and food science. Bubba hews to the belief that such foods are simply “blessed by a rabbi” and identifies one product as carrying a second sinister rabbinical group’s certification – “parve” – which he pronounces “parVEY” (French rabbis, probably).
In his essential point, of course, Bubba’s right. Companies do indeed pay for kosher certification.
As they also do, of course, for the right to display, say, the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval (for which manufacturers must purchase advertisement space in Good Housekeeping magazine). Or as they indirectly do through increased manufacturing costs for the right to call their products “organic” or “natural.” To Bubba, however, the Jewish arrangement is singularly unkosher; it smacks, to his fuzzy lights, of a Jewish “shakedown.” If companies pay for a rabbi’s service, he unreasons, the cost must surely be passed on… secretly, of course… to “Gentile” consumers.
The risible accusation is nothing new; it resurfaces almost every time logic-challenged anti-Semites manage to catch their breath between rants on the Middle-East and “Jewish control of the media.” As to inconvenient facts, The New York Times reported in 1975 that the cost to General Foods for rabbinical supervision of its “Bird’s Eye” products worked out to .0000065 of a cent per item. A Heinz Company representative maintained that its own kosher labeling actually decreases the cost of items, by increasing the market for them – the only rational reason, of course, a company would choose to pay for such a service in the first place.
Thank you Avi, although, in true nazi tradition, I don't think Bubba has much interest in facts, he appears to prefer to distribute misinformation in order to promote hate.
and The NaziHunter responds by video:
Yasher Koach Nazi Hunter, that was well done and much appreciated!
By the way, Bubba's video is produced by RegionFive, and their website (no, I won't link it) has the following quote of the day:
I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it. - Voltaire
Indeed, Miche Bubba Bill certainly makes the enemies of the Jewish people ridiculous. Bravo! Well done Bill.
Irony is so... ironic.

Commentary from Joseph Farrah
It's becoming popular to talk about "the root causes of terrorism."
Lately, we've heard:
- The root cause of terrorism is foreign domination and control of Muslim resources.
- The root cause of terrorism is the hatred of the Western way of life.
- The root cause of terrorism is alienation.
- The root cause of terrorism is poverty and illiteracy.
- The root cause of terrorism is the moral decadence of the West.
- The root cause of terrorism is the West's support for Israel.
Do you know what I think is the root cause of terrorism?
It works.
By that I mean those using terrorism in the world today do it because it achieves their objectives.
Simple. And I think beyond dispute.
No place does it work more effectively than in Israel – once seen as a bulwark against Islamist terrorism. If you want a case study in the enabling of terrorism, the encouraging of terrorism, the feeding and cultivation of terrorism, look no further than the Jewish state.
Let's look at the cost of unrelenting terrorism in the Jewish state over the last six years since Ariel Sharon was elected as a hard-line prime minister to put an end to attacks but who betrayed his constituency:
- 56 percent of Israelis support negotiating even with Hamas, a terrorist organization sworn to the Jewish state's destruction;
- 75 percent of Israelis believe their country is struggling for its very survival;
- The more Israel has acceded to the demands of terrorists, the more terrorism has increased;
- The more Israel has unilaterally retreated from lands won in hard-fought combat, the more emboldened its attackers have become;
- The more accommodating Israel is with the terrorists, the higher become the demands on the Jewish state by international busybodies who blame their own problems with terrorists on Israel.
It's a vicious cycle. But it is a cycle benefiting the terrorists – demonstrating its effectiveness as a tactic.
What do the terrorists want besides killing and terrifying people?
Ultimately, it is very simple. They want the entire world subjugated to Islamic rule and law.
There are only two ways to stop the terrorism:
- Surrender and live under the domination of Islam.
- Soundly defeat the Islamic jihad.
You can't talk to it. You can't buy it off. You can't understand it. You can't win it over with compassion. You can't reason with it. You can't negotiate with it. You can't bargain with it. You can't appease it away. You can't wish it away.
In fact, this is an enemy that cannot be seduced by expressions of "tolerance" and gestures of goodwill. It is actually repulsed by such moves – seeing them as weakness to be exploited further and signs that their strategy is winning the day.
Need I remind you this is a conflict with some history.
It didn't begin Sept. 11, 2001, or even with the first World Trade Center bombing or the Iranian revolution of 1979.
This is a war President Jefferson fought.
This is a war that led to Christopher Columbus' voyage west and, ultimately, the discovery of America.
This is a war that nearly led to the conquest of Europe before that.
And it may well lead to the conquest of Europe in the 21st century.
As I have said before, it would not be inaccurate to say this conflict has defined world history for the last 1,300 years.
In the 20th century, we witnessed the high cost of appeasement. We saw it with Nazi Germany. We saw it with the Soviet Union. We saw it with Communist China. And, lately, we see it in the Middle East and in the war with jihadism.

Amen

Reason # 4573034768 why I'm islamophobic
Meet Omar Brooks a/k/a Abu Izzadeen:

[The] Prophet Mohammed's message to nonbelievers is: "I come to slaughter all of you."
"We are the Muslims. We drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere. That is Islam and that is jihad."
Bonus Reason # 4573034769 - Meet Anjem Choudary:

"All of the world belongs to Allah, and we will live according to the Sharia wherever we are," said Choudary, a lawyer. "This is a fundamental belief of the Muslims."
Asked if he believes in democracy, he said, "No, I don't at all."
"One day, the Sharia will be implemented in Britain. It's a matter of time."
"I happen to be in an ideological and political war," Choudary said. "My brothers in al Qaeda and other Mujahedeen are involved in a military campaign."
For you leftists who are wringing your hands and searching for the reason why these people hate, the article has a quip from Hanif Qadir, who claims to be one of the ever elusive moderates:
There are some who believe "blowing people up is quite cool," Qadir said.
Qadir asked them why that was justified.
"The answers that I got back is: When a bomb goes off in Baghdad or in Afghanistan and innocent women and children are killed over there, who cares for them?
There you have it! Anjem Choudary asks "What are Muslims supposed to do when they are being killed in the streets in Afghanistan and Baghdad and Palestine?"
Well you stupid jihadist, why don't you ask yourself, who is it that is killing these moslems in the streets of Afghanistan, Baghdad and Palestine? The answer is, moslems, that's who!
Moslems blow up innocent people somewhere in the world, every single day, they do it on purpose, they target moslem women and children and blow them to bits. We put our troops in harm's way trying to keep moslems from blowing up moslems and you're trying to tell me that the reason why moslems hate the west and want to wage jihad on us, is because we're the only ones who care enough to try to stop moslems from blowing up moslems.
Now there's some rational thinking every democrat can understand.
Except... we know you're full of shit Anjem, and its your buddy Omar who is speaking truth to power:
[The] Prophet Mohammed's message to nonbelievers is: "I come to slaughter all of you."
"We are the Muslims. We drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere. That is Islam and that is jihad."
There you have the true face of islam.

Stumble Stones
They are called stolpersteine -- stumble stones. They are meant to trip memory.
"Here lived
Berta Spiegel
Born "Scheuer"
[In the] Year 1879
Deported to Theresienstadt
Dead 16-2-1942"Berta Spiegel, whose maiden name was Scheuer, and her husband, Josef Spiegel, ran a sporting goods shop at 6 Buccheimer St. in the Cologne suburb of Muelheim. The couple was "deported," the Nazi euphemism for removal of Jews from Germany, to Theresienstadt concentration camp, located in the present-day Czech Republic. They died there. Berta on Feb. 16, 1942, Josef on Aug. 7, 1942.
One stone, one life.
Each is a brass plaque measuring about 4 by 4 inches and hand-engraved by artist Gunter Demnig with the name and a few terse details of someone lost to the Holocaust. Each stumble stone is set permanently into the sidewalk outside the place where the individual lived, laughed, and loved -- usually a house or apartment building and sometimes a shop or office.
Demnig, 59, has hammered more than 10,000 plaques into the sidewalks of 202 German cities and towns. The artist and two associates, Uta Franke and Michael Friedrich, have been at it for a decade. Each stone represents archival research by families or Jewish groups as well as the painstaking work of carving of the malleable yellow metal.
One person, who lived, and then died at the hands of a madman.
A few stumble stones have been wrenched from the ground by irate neighbors or neo-Nazis. Others have been defaced with swastikas. There are still a few places in Germany where ultra-right sentiment burns fiercely enough among locals that Demnig can go about his labor only with a police escort.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.

It never seems to end
Someone stole a golf cart from a community in the 800 block of Northeast First Street in Palm Beach Florida, and took it for a joyride, damaging the greens. Also, a swastika and an anti-Semitic remark were written on a sand trap, which a resident photographed before raking over.

Better living through chemistry
Thanks for the laugh Sarge, I was a little less grouchy after that one!
Posted by LindaSoG at 01:29 PM
Okay, so I'm grouchy
I got nothing for ya today, having woken up on the wrong side of the bed and not much in the mood for anything. Things have not been going my way the past few days, and I feel as though I'm at odds with the world. So, rather than inflict my bad mood on all of you, I thought I should send you out of here, and to other more congenial places today:
Start out with Raven, over at And Rightly So, she's got a picture up that about took my breath away! While you're there, be sure to read Living with the Ultimate Loss. Its long, but worth every word!
Janie at Armies of Liberation has an update on the al-Queda scum who escaped from a Yemeni prison along with other al-Queda scum who were responsible for the attack on the USS Cole. Good news there, they shot the bastard.
Kat has the video on what happens when spiders do drugs. It ain't pretty, but it's funny!
Darleen caught a little something about our public skools and what children know about Martin Luther King. All I can say is, if we are raising the next generation of leaders, we are in big trouble.
Fausta has a video sermon on the islamic view on wife beating, it left her speechless, but Girl on the Right has something to say about it. Feisty is talking about it too, as only Feisty can.
Greta is moving to... gasp... NOLA, and she's opened her blog to a leftist so next time you want to read about the positive sides of abortion, socialized medicine and keeping oil rigs out of Alaska, you know where to go. Viva la difference!
Little Miss Attila is being oppressed by the man and Raven has some new digs and its a beautiful thing... which reminds me... I made a promise I haven't kept yet. Darn! I'll do it Raven, I promise!
My very good friend Merri is taking about Curtis, or maybe CocaCola, or maybe Jack Bauer, Since I don't watch TV, I'm lost. Anyway, it appears someone died, or at least got shot.
The one and only Beth at My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy has the latest insanity from the 9/11 truthers. Sheesh!
Theodore's World has the lowdown on free tickets to watch Al Gore suck up the atmosphere and warm the globe. Cassandra at Villainous Company has got the song of the day, Beth at Yeah, Right, Whatever takes us to the final frontier, The Median Sib has the missing link and Stacy has the hawt stuff, so you girls... head over there fast!
So, if all that don't keep you busy, I don't know what will. Enjoy...

There is no terrorist threat
I'm sure its all just a misunderstanding or a miscommunication or something...
WEST PALM BEACH -- The Palm Beach County Hazardous Materials Unit decontaminated five people who came in contact with Tellurium, a poisonous powder, found in the mailroom of the county courthouse on Thursday.
None of the people who touched the powder had an adverse reaction, according to West Palm Beach Fire Rescue spokesman Phil Kaplan.
Authorities received a call about suspicious powder inside two envelopes at about 11:45 a.m. The mailroom and two judges' chambers on the ninth floor, where the letters were taken, were immediately sealed. The five people who touched the envelopes were taken to a red, decontamination tent outside the courthouse where they stripped and were sprayed down before donning paper suits.
Nothing to see here except what is probably a silly stupid intimidation attempt on behalf of some disgruntled litigant. Move along.

ATHENS (Reuters) - An explosion ripped through the U.S. embassy compound in central Athens on Friday but no one was hurt, a U.S. embassy spokesman said.
Greek anti-terrorist officers were on the scene and investigating. It was not clear what caused the blast.
"There are no injuries from the blast. The investigation of the cause is continuing," the U.S. embassy spokesman said.
"We are investigating the cause of the explosion. We are not ruling anything out," a senior police official told Reuters.

A tale of two robbers
What a difference a gun makes:
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. -- A liquor store owner shot and killed a man who apparently attempted to rob the place on Tuesday night.
The owner of LeJeune Liquors, 930 S.W. 42nd Ave., was working behind the counter at about 9 p.m. when a man with a gun entered the store and approached him, police said. That's when the store owner took out his own gun and shot the man, according to police.
"It does appear that the owner was acting in self defense," Miami-Dade police spokesman Roy Rutland said.
Detectives said the "stand your ground" law allowed the store owner to pull the trigger without fear of repercussion.
and...
MIAMI -- A man was found shot to death not far from his home near Northwest 24th Avenue and Northwest 30th Street on Wednesday.
Miami police received a call about a man who had been shot at about 8:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Mario Joshua Martinez-Hernandez dead and his personal belongings scattered nearby.
Witnesses told police that they had seen Martinez-Hernandez fighting with a man wearing a red hooded sweater on the sidewalk. Witnesses said the struggle continued across the street, at which time the man shot Martinez-Hernandez and ran off.

Radicals can't be stopped
That's not my title, its from Australia's biggest selling newspaper, the Herald Sun:
Attorney General Phillip Ruddock said today there was not enough evidence to ban the Hizb ut-Tahrir group despite its continuing call for Australia to become part of a Caliphate or "Khilafah".
The group, already banned across the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Germany - will host a Sydney conference this month to promote an Islamic takeover.
In what appears to be a call to arms, the video features slogans attacking the United States and capitalism, and features militant anti-Western Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shaking his fist, before the slogan "embrace the revival"
"The Muslim world has awakened from its slumber … and is ready to resume its political destiny.
"From the darkness will emerge a new light," the video says.
Articles published on the group's website claim that Israel is an illegal state, that "Iraq is an occupied land" and its residents have a duty to resist the Coalition.
A conference advertisement posted on internet site youtube.com shows crowds of Muslims marching, praying and protesting to dramatic and warlike music and explosions.
That's the conference ad they're talking about, but there's plenty more on You Tube, and most of it is down right scary.
On a tip from the now defunct Reactionista Blog, I wrote about the Hizb back in July of 2005, when they were calling for the killing of Jews in Britain and playing hide and seek with the articles on their website when they got caught.
For all you looney leftist trolls lurking about and trashing my comments, pay attention! This is not a fox news alert here, this is the mainstream media and its telling you what the followers of islam have planned for you. What can you expect? Read up on what life is like under islamic law so you know what the fruits of your labor will be, and what legacy you will leave for your children and your children's children. And learn to spell, dammit!

In the realm of fiction
Richard North Patterson gives Jimmy Carter a run for his anti-semetic money:

The Sultan Knish has excerpts:
David looked around the ruins of Rammalah. The Israeli war machine had sent its tanks rumbling through there and smashed entire buildings flat with their massive treads. Airplanes continued dropping explosives from the sky as lovable Palestinian schoolchildren fled into hills of rubble. From the warplanes raining death and destruction in the name of the Israeli God, David Wolfe could see the Israeli soldiers grinning as they competed to see who could kill more Palestinian children.
Okay, not really, but this book has it all, sexy palestinian women turned into murderers by evil joos, brave freedom fighters with suicide belts trying to save the world from evil joos, admirable palestinians who are forced into barbaric acts of murder and mayhem by evil joos, oppressive Israelis murdered by innocent palestinians who were forced to do so by evil joos, and of course, more evil joos.
I'm sure it will be a blockbuster big seller, and eventually, an epic film directed by Mel "I was drunk" Gibson.

MEMRI Clip #1347 - Saddam's Loyalist Mish'an Al-Jabouri and Shiite Iraqi Journalist Sadeq Al-Musawi Fight on Al-Jazeera TV over Saddam's Execution
Host: "Do you support the execution of Saddam Hussein?" 4,787 people, who constitute 88.6% of the public, say: "No." 11.4% say: "Yes." What do you want to say to them?
Mish'an Al-Jabouri: With your permission, before he responds... I would like to begin this show by calling upon the viewers to recite the Al-Fatiha verse for the soul of the martyred president Saddam Hussein...
Sadeq Al-Musawi: We are not going to recite the Al-Fatiha for anybody. We are here to condemn a man who killed thousands and millions of Iraqis. We are not here to recite the Al-Fatiha for anybody. He was an oppressive tyrant who spilled the blood of the Iraqis.
Mish'an Al-Jabouri: As you know, Saddam executed my own brother and many of my relatives. He executed the uncle of my children, but the way he was executed proved Saddam was a brave man. He has truly become our martyr, and we will visit his grave like the graves of the righteous.
Insult of the day: "You Persian shoe!"

Guard the Borders Blogburst
Mexican Gunmen Involved in Arizona Border Incident Actually Uniformed Mexican Force
By Heidi at Euphoric Reality
The excursion into U.S. territory last week by "Mexican gunmen" was not a chance confrontation between the Arizona National Guard and untrained illegal immigrants, but a deliberate "perimeter probe" by an infantry-trained, uniformed Mexican force, officials say.
Euphoric Reality has learned in exclusive interviews with high-ranking sources within both the Arizona National Guard and the U.S. Border Patrol that the incident the mainstream media calls a "standoff" was in reality a military-style operation, carried out by a unit of Mexican troops dressed in military uniforms, flak jackets, and armed with AK-47s in an apparent operation to probe the border defenses and test the limits of the National Guard troops. Using easily recognizable infantry movement tactics (such as arm and hand signals and flanking maneuvers), the Mexican unit deliberately moved in a military formation across the border from Mexico, where they were picked up by National Guard surveillance.
As the hostile force moved north over the next three hours, deeper into Arizona, National Guardsmen wearing night vision goggles were able to ascertain that the approaching gunmen were indeed uniformed (including PAGST helmets) and heavily armed. When the Mexican unit came within approximately 100 yards of the EIT site, the Guardsmen repositioned themselves in order to maintain surveillance and tactical advantage. They observed the Mexican unit sweep through the EIT site, and then rapidly withdrew back into Mexico. No shots were fired by either the Mexican gunmen or the Guardsmen. Border Patrol was on the scene within minutes of the Mexican unit's withdrawal.
The Guardsmen, through an Arizona Border Patrol official, confirmed that the incident appeared to be an intelligence-gathering exercise designed to ascertain what the National Guard's response would be to certain tactics. It is not an isolated incident, and many such probes have been reported by the Guardsmen assigned to the area. Though no shots were fired during this particular incident, shots have been fired near and in the vicinity of the soldiers at the EIT site in other situations, though not at the soldiers themselves. It is not clear from the uniforms if the Mexican soldiers were official Mexican federales or mercenaries hired by the drug cartels.
Since then, follow-on news reports have included statements from the Border Patrol that no shots were fired. This was confirmed today by Major Paul Aguirre, a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) for the Arizona National Guard. Rumors have circulated that the Guardsmen were not armed, and thus unable to defend themselves - and that is not the case. Both Major Aguirre and Rob Daniels, a Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Arizona Border Patrol, state that all Guardsmen assigned to EITs are armed, specifically with M16s and sometimes a sidearm. As well, there have been some contradictory news reports that stated the gunmen came "within yards" of the Guardsmen, while other reports state that the gunmen were approximately 100 yards away. Mr. Daniels clarified that the gunmen came as close as 100 yards to the Guardsmen. He also stated that the Guardsmen did not "retreat" but tactically repositioned themselves to maintain surveillance of the group of armed men while simultaneously radioing for Border Patrol agents. He asserted that the Guardsmen had followed their protocols perfectly, and that their services were invaluable to the Border Patrol agents.

Traces of C4 at Port of Miami
Test show traces of C4 at the Port of Miami, yes, this is breaking news on Fox, right now. Related to the non-event yesterday? I'm at work dagnabit and can't monitor the news from here.
Word is that they have restricted the airspace over the Port, including news helicopters.
At the moment, I am about one mile away from the Port, on the 29th floor of a high rise.
Bomb squad is on the scene. Ships are ordered out of the Port, passengers sent below decks.
The box/device was being loaded onto a cruise ship scheduled for four day cruise starting later. The sensor caught it as having C4. They tested it five more times with positive reactions each test.
According to Port of Miami spokeswoman, Andria Muniz-Amador, a cargo pallet has been discovered and may contain a large amount of C-4 explosives.
The pallet was discovered in an area located at Gate H, located right next to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines “Majesty of the Sea”, which does have passengers on board who are preparing to embark later Monday afternoon.
Terminal H is cordoned off as police investigate.
A bomb squad is also on the scene.
Remember, a pound of C-4 was enough to blow up Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Something has been detonated.
4:11 pm - According to the news, this is now officially another non-event. Can someone tell me how the news knows what was on that pallet and what's really going on at the Port? Perhaps I need a tinfoil hat, because I begin the think this is related to yesterday's event and the three clowns were let go and followed.
Remind me not to take any cruises.
Bottom line: The Super Bowl is here in a couple of weeks (I live a few miles from the stadium) and I can’t get that out of my head.
In my mind, I know the attack is coming and I believe it will be sooner rather than later. The Super Bowl is a prime target for attack and I’m very suspicious of both incidents, I'm suspicious that any terrorist threat in this town will be covered up and played down.
Mail me a tin foil hat if you think I need it.

Why am I not surprised?

Obviously, the horrors that have befallen Eretz Yisrael at the hands of the arabs, and the Israeli government, have taken its toll over recent years.
Like most American Jews, I have considered Aliyah many times. But, Aliyah to where? Gaza? Amona? Judea? Samaria? If I had made Aliyah, Ariel Sharon or Ehud Olmert would have made me homeless. Considering that today, Israel is the only place in the world where Jews can be forced from their homes for being Jewish, where should I Aliyah to?
Hell is a Jewish state devoid of Jewish values that picks up where the anti-Semites, the pogromers, and the exilers left off. Hell is a Jewish prime minister who has become a cannibal of his own people. Hell is when a country has lost its will to exist and begins a process of national suicide. Hell is when Jews with Jewish values have become outcast in their own land. Hell is when the Jewish state becomes worse than the exile. - Gershon Perlman

Where there are moslems
Spain's bishops are alarmed by ambitious plans to recreate the city of Cordoba - once the heart of the ancient Islamic kingdom of al-Andalus - as a pilgrimage site for Muslims throughout Europe.
The bishops of those cities are alarmed at the construction of ostentatious mosques, fearing that the church's waning influence may be further eclipsed by resurgent Islam financed from abroad.
But... this is the money quote:
"Spain's Muslims have been long respectful towards civil and ecclesiastical authorities, but as numbers have grown they have turned to more radical leaders."
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The Final Frontier
The logical next step in a world that hates Jews:
Israelis own 10 percent of the privately owned area on the moon, according to Tom Wegner, a spokesman for Crazyshop, a company that sells plots of moon land to private individuals in Israel. About 10,000 Israelis have purchased moon property since it became available in 2000. Of the 10 million acres sold worldwide, 1 million are owned by residents of Israel, Wegner said Wednesday.
Really.

Move along.. Nothing to see here
The word on the streets of SoFla is that Port Police stopped a van to check the papers. The driver was trying to access a secure area of the Port. He told the police that he was all by his lonesome in that truck, and his paperwork appeared to be in order.
Except... a search revealed that he wasn't alone and there were two more men in the back of the truck. Two "middle eastern" men who are in the this country illegally.
The Port of Miami is now in lockdown as the law scrambles, trying to figure out what's happened. Or rather, what might happen.
Fox News had a breaking news alert about an hour ago, it was their top story, but they yanked it.
Nothing on the local news here at the moment.
12:45 UPDATE: Okay, we got news. The Port is open and operating at "high security."
1:00 UPDATE: One Iraqi and one Lebanese in the back of the truck. One of them had an outstanding warrant, no news on what for.
The truck was an 18 wheeler.
FOX VIDEO on the right hand side of the screen:

At the end of the broadcast, they sum up saying this is non-story because this kind of thing happens all the time and there's nothing to worry about since there were no explosives in the truck.
Ahem. It was an empty truck going into the Port. Am I the only one wondering what they were picking up at the Port?
and... if you're think that its good thing the Dubai Ports deal didn't go through, think again.
Guess who runs the Port of Miami.
1:50 UPDATE: The Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald both report that all is well and they were legal aliens. Local 10 News reports they were illegals.
Sure. Lying moslems trying to sneak into a secure area in the Port with an empty truck. No big deal, happens every day. and remember, its the religion of peace and moslems are our friends. Just think, its 28 days to the Super Bowl.
UPDATE 2:03 Fox reported earlier that there were no explosives found. But, it appears they have not searched the truck yet, and the Bomb Squad is enroute (and they're stuck in traffic!). Word is that they are moving the truck... away from prying eyes?
2:20 UPDATE: An FBI spokeswoman in Miami said an Iraqi semi-truck driver trying to get into the port was been arrested after the cargo in his truck did not match what was declared on the truck's manifest. Orihuela said the men appear to be in the U.S. legally and have resident status. They are not on any watch list. It was two Iraqis and Lebanese.
And the Bomb Squad has arrived. News conference coming up.
Question: The news is reporting that likely "its just a paperwork problem." How is that one man trying to sneak into the port, claims he doesn't know what's in his truck, lies about two more men who were hiding in the truck, and one of them has an outstanding warrant for arrest, how the hell is that considered a paperwork problem? They must think we're stupid.
I'll betcha dollars to donuts they bury this.
My head hurts.
WizBang is all over this, GatewayPundit is talking about this, so is Hot Air, Blogs of War and Florida Cracker.
3:20 UPDATE: According to the Miami Herald, "Federal sources said the manifest described the cargo was auto parts, but that is not what was found. Instead, authorities found two 55-gallon containers in the back of the truck."
Drudge has it now, but he's linking to the older Miami Herald article. Yo Matt, you should read my site! I scooped ya over three hours ago!
4:20 UPDATE Miami HAZMAT is on the scene and they pushed the news conference back again. There's still no news about this on our local TV stations.
4:45 UPDATE Miami HAZMAT has left the scene. News conference delayed again.
5:00 UPDATE Train derailed in D.C. That should put the lid on this story.
5:17 UPDATE According the news conference, now the extra men were in the back seat and not hiding, and all of a sudden the contents of the truck match the manifest and it wasn't auto parts, it was some kind of wire and it was 22 pallets and not two 55 gallon containers and it was all just a communications problem.
Like I said, they think we're stupid.
The final word: Miami Port Scare 'Comedy Of Errors'... everything they reported throughout the day was supposedly untrue.
Move along.. Nothing to see here.

Amen

This is not a blog war!
It's a browser war.
From my December, 2006 stats, it would appear that there might be a few more than three of us still using IE6.

Yannow, the whole browser thing just ticks me off. I tried Firefox last year and most of the websites I visited just didn't work, they looked screwy, so I dumped it.
You get a few newbies browsers on the scene and their "language" is different from the language everyone uses, their stuff doesn't work with the stuff that's out there and the end result is that everyone has to learn a new language to accomodate the newbie, who refuses to learn the existing language. I had to tweak the heck out of my site to make it work for the few Firefox users who visit my site and eventually I had to have help from the ever fabulous Sadie to make it work.
Why won't the newbies learn the language of the internet dammit?!?!
Just saying...

A Moderate Moslem Speaks Out
right here in Sunny South Florida
(CBS) PALM SPRINGS A 35-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly made terrorist threats inside a Palm Springs bar, police said.
Officers detained Haider Mohammad of Palm Springs about 8 p.m. Friday at the Hair of the Dog Bar at 238 North Palm Canyon after he allegedly said he was going to "kill all Jews," said Palm Springs police Sgt. Mitch Spike.
According to witnesses, Mohammad also allegedly claimed to have an alliance with executed former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and to be affiliated with Al Qaeda.
Mohammad was detained on suspicion of making terrorist threats in what was called a hate crime, Spike said. FBI investigators who were contacted by Palm Springs police determined that Mohammad was not a person of interest, he said.
Mohammad was booked at the Palm Springs Jail and released after posting $25,000 bail.
I suppose the "Mel Excuse" will apply.

Public Service Announcement
If you see this guy in the street, run the other way...

Riccardo S. Garelli
Why? Well, he's the schmuck behind Saddamisnotdead.com...

Yup. Riccardo thinks Saddam is still alive, but how he came to that conclusion is a mystery.
All the news networks of the world showing the antecedent moments to the hanging of Saddam Hussein.
Journalists, Politicians, Everybody comment the death of Saddam Hussein.
But WHO HAS SEEN ENTIRELY THE HANGING OF SADDAM HUSSEIN?Are those short clips of the very first previous moments and the ones showing Saddam who lays down in a truck sufficient INDEED to understand that all that they want us to believe
Another incredibly strange thing it’s the completely absence of videos about Saddam inherent to the last 24 hours… WHY???
Why? Why why why why?
WHY nobody has SEEN, FILM or DOCUMENTED this historical moment? We are in the age of the REAL-TIME informations, why there aren’t any news about this?
Everybody speak about the Saddam’s Death but WHO has the proves of that Saddam it’s REALLY death, does anybody has seen any certificate of its death?
We can see the masked executors, Saddam with a serene uncovered face, the loop that comes down from the ceiling, but then before the execution starts, the clip ends mysteriously.
and then there's this little gem...
If you were the presidents of the United States and had between your main investor the Hebrew and if you found yourselves to having to face the global oil situation, you would try you to attack the Iran?
The rest of the site makes about as much as sense.
My head hurts.

Yawn
Families of the condemned feel punished, too
In Virginia's death chamber, James Reid was receiving a lethal injection, his punishment for murdering an elderly woman.
In her kitchen, a pain Ida couldn't explain had taken over, and it felt like a punishment, too — but one she would have to endure forever, even as her brother's came to an end.
In the contentious death penalty debate, they are a group that often goes overlooked.
Family members of the condemned haven't committed the crimes that landed their loved ones on death row. But they often feel punished by a society that sometimes shuns them and by a grief that few understand.
