Meet Chief Warrant Officer Jim Funk

He has something to say to the media:

"Hello media, do you know you indirectly kill American soldiers every day? You inspire and report the enemy's objective every day. You are the enemy's greatest weapon. The enemy cannot beat us on the battlefield so all he does is try to wreak enough havoc and have you report it every day. With you and the enemy using each other, you continually break the will of the American public and American government.

"We go out daily and bust and kill the enemy, uncover and destroy huge weapons caches and continue to establish infrastructure. So daily we put a whoopin on the enemy, but all the enemy has to do is turn on the TV and get re-inspired. He gets to see his daily roadside bomb, truck bomb, suicide bomber or mortar attack. He doesn't see any accomplishments of the U.S. military (FOX, you're not exempt, you suck also).

"We, the soldiers, keep breaking the back of the enemy. You, the media, keep rejuvenating the enemy.

I work for a State gov't operation that serves the general public. I routinely meet US servicemen/women who require my services in connection to the duties of my position.

Without transgressing on the borders of my job description, I always (always!) make a point to politely ask them "What's really going on in Iraq?"

I point out that I don't believe a word of what I hear on TV or the newspapers. I make a point to show them that I have no prejudice here or there. I am only interested in hearing what they, who are there, have to say.

Without fail, without exception, they tell me we are performing a globally civic cause and doing so with all the possible tenets of honor (I am paraphrasing here). I have NEVER heard a single soldier, Marine, sailor or airman even suggest that we are on a fool's errand, that our cause is off-the-mark, or that we have been ill-advised in our course of action.

I put it to Linda's readership that, as most of you already know, the MSM has deceived and misled us in the worst possible way. Our men and women over there are extending the hand of American generosity, kindness and friendship in the most extreme way possible, and have had that hand bitten vociferously and without pause by individuals who have no honor, nor compassion for their fellow human being, regardless of race, religion or personal belief.

I stand face-to-face on a daily basis with people who project the very best of American values to our fellow human beings around the world, and the media licks at our failures and setbacks like a twenty-baht Bangkok whore.

I know who is lying.

May G-d protect you all and may you all enjoy this Memorial Day, with all its liberties and triumphs brought to you by the US forces around the globe.

Thanks, Kevin. I've been back about 4 weeks. I tell everyone who asks, and there are lots, the same thing. The "war" is essentially won....as long as we don't throw our hands in the air and quit, walk away. It takes some time for some(thing) to die, even when you've got them in a full stranglehold. We cannot let up.
