One Year Ago Today
Today marks one year that Gilad Shalit has been in the hands of terrorists.

Gilad Shalit was raised, the middle of three siblings in a small community in the rolling hills of northern Galilee, near Israel’s border with Lebanon. His father, Noam, is a manager at the Iscar machine tools company; his mother, Aviva, works at the Society for the Protection of Nature. His brother is a college student and his sister is at high school.
Friends describe Gilad as studious, good at physics and a little shy. But they say he is quite determined in his own quiet way, and that when he was called up a year ago he volunteered to join a combat unit. His elder brother, Yoel, 21, is a student at a polytechnic in the northern Israeli port of Haifa. He has a younger sister at high school.
Today, no one knows where Gilad is, or even whether he is still alive. There has been one note early on, but no "proof of life" since then for Gilad. Hamas acknowledges they have him, the Israeli Government rewards his kidnappers and the rest of the world is silent. Its so hard to write about him. My heart just hurts.
Please, take a moment to think of Gilad Shalit, and pray for his well being and safe return.
-----------
UPDATE: An obviously coerced and cruelly calculated audio tape of Gilad has been released by Hamas.
How the hell can the world accept this and expect Israel to work with these animals? Consider what its saying, his health is deteriorating, he needs a prolonged hospitalization and they have him buried in a hole in the sand, denying him even basic medical care.
Dear L-rd, how I hate those bastards.
and... speaking of bastards, this is the true face of the democrats. Its hard to believe that this people are human, much less Americans.

I understand what you are saying. I just tried to blog it on my site as well. I decided to keep my mouth shut about my personal analysis because he is in prison after all, the prison of his captures (speaking to the disappointment of the Israeli government not doing enough, so says the article and tape)....anyway, I blogged it and I'm praying for a QUICK AND SAFE return of Gilad.
I know, I know, I know what you mean when you ask how the hell can the world accept this and expect Israel to work with these animals?!!! I know!
Feeling of personal powerlessness sucks - heartbreaking.

Somehow, someday, they'll pay for this. It may not be on this world, however.

The United States and especially Israel are suffering from poor leadership right now. They are trying to negotiate and deal with animals that have a single clear goal, destroy Israel and America. We are even financing some of the Palestinain terror groups. Until we violently and decisively react with the power at our disposal when the terrorists test us, they will continue to march on.
And F--K world opinion!

This young man's circumstance makes me infuriated beyond words. I can only imagine the real TORTURE he is undergoing in the hands of his souless captors. Yes, G*d only knows what cruel torments he is enduring. Where the hell are all the whiny bureaucrats who lamented all the "torture" that supposedly occured at Abu Ghraid or Guantanamo? If only Gilad were so lucky to obtain that kind of treatment.
Where's Amnesty International? Where's the International Red Cross? No one even gives lip service to his cause- where's Condi Rice? Cutting more deals with Abbas? It's beyond pathetic. Leadership, anyone?

Looks like ive spoke too soon- Olmert releases 250 Fatah terrorists, in return for- zip zero nadda, not even Shalit- as long as they renounce terrorism. Ohhhhkay. Can he be impeached ASAP?

This whole story is sickening.

My prayers go out to this brave young man. Beyond that, all I can say is I pray for the day I can see the sick MoFos who disparage our troops and the IDF, sold into slavery in a Muslim country so they can finally appreciate what their Muzzie heroes have in store for them.
