Look deeply into my eyes...
Now you know why I'm so smart...
The colour of your eyes could determine your achievements in life, say scientists.
They claim those with blue eyes are more likely to sparkle academically than those with brown.
They are more intelligent and gain more qualifications because they study more effectively and perform better in exams.
In reaction time trials conducted by U.S. scientists, the brown-eyed performed better, making them more likely to succeed at activities such as football, hockey and rugby.
But the researchers concluded that those with lighter eyes appeared to be better strategic thinkers.
Blue-eyed boys and girls proved to be more successful in activities that required them to plan and structure their time, such as golf, cross-country running - and studying for exams.
Joanna Rowe, professor emeritus at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, who conducted the tests, said the results suggested a hitherto unexplored link between eye colour and academic achievement.
"It is just observed, rather than explained," she said. "There's no scientific answer yet." Dr Tony Fallone, senior psychology lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire, who has also studied eye colour, believes it should be taken more seriously as an indicator of personality and ability.
Yes, that's me and I have very blue eyes, but I prefer this reason for my brilliance...
H/T to Bloggie for the blue eyes story. I find some really great stuff there!

Fascinating article, I hope we don't start class warfare because of eye color. I fear the geneticists and DNA guru's more than an occaisional off color eye. We don't need another Lebensborn. Also I wonder if there is any correlation between the reason home schooled children do better academically than their state schooled counterparts, maybe it's because they are blue eyed too?

My eyes are "hazel". Well, shit...no wonder I consistently hit every tree on the golf course...

LOL Nigel, I am starting golf lessons next month, I'll let ya know how many trees I hit, IF I even hit the darned ball!!!!

Sometimes blue sometimes hazel... I'll just claim the best of all worlds.

Wait what did Hitler say about eye color?
My eyes change color, so I guess I am only smart on certain days.

I just always thought my eye-color (um, yeah, brown) meant I was full of shit. Well, now they say I should be good at football?!?!? HA! WATCHING football, perhaps....

Or Hockey, Merri! Vinnie told me you are great at fore-checking...
At least I think that's what he said...

Apparently the Queen of Comment Moderation doesn't know when her comment is moderated.
Anyways, my older brother has even bluer eyes than Linda, and he's a slack jawed dumbass with a major case of BDS.
He's like a male Paris Hilton.
So, there goes the eye color = intelligence theory.

As a a-hem brown eyed person, my suggestion is to surround oneself with as many blue eyed people like Linda as possible. That way when the shit hits the fan I will know someone to ask what to do.
heh heh

Please don't take this as conceited bragging......Although I never again attained my 94.0 average for the entire schoolyear that was my score in the fourth grade, I nontheless always was a good student and the smartest in the classroom. The two times that I was closest to sharing this honor was in the 3rd-4th-5th grades with Ramon Zamora and in the 7th-8th grades with Larry Thomas (Lebanese). You can probably guess what their eye colors were.....I'm also 5'5" tall...NEVER be misled by physical characteristics.....Best regards JMcD
