Reason # 73537848658 why we win!

TIKRIT, Iraq - A Hunter unmanned aerial vehicle engaged and killed two suspected improvised explosive device emplacers overwatching a major thoroughfare for Coalition Forces during a historic flight near Qayyarah, Iraq, in Nineveh province Sept. 1.

A scout weapons team from 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, observed the two unknown enemy fighters in a tactical overwatch near the roadside. The SWT requested support from the Hunter UAV.

The pilots guided the Hunter operator to the scene where it set up for a strike mission and dropped its precision munition, killing both unknown enemies and marking a first in Army Aviation history.

Made in Israel, dontcha know!

"It's very humbling to know that we have set an Army historical mark in having the first successful launch in combat from an Army weaponized UAV," said Capt. Raymond Fields, commander, Unmanned Aerial Surveillance Company. "This would not be possible without my Soldiers and civilians working hard day in and day out in Iraq to accomplish this feat."

Fields continued, "I think that this success will set the tone for Army Aviation in years to come. We will see more weaponized Army unmanned vehicles being used instead of manned platforms to save not only our aviator brethren but our Army ground brethren from enemy contact."

"This accomplishment adds a precise and discriminate means for our Army to successfully engage the enemy in counterinsurgency warfare," said Col. A.T. Ball, commander, 25th CAB

Just once, for S & Gs if for no other reason, I'd like to see an accurate, certified number of Taliban, Al Qaeda, and assorted terrorists killed by US and coalition forces since 9/11. Hell, I'd even take a Pentagon estimate if no verifiable figures are available.

Seems only reasonable to me that combat units would submit pro-forma reports on attacks, patrols, responses to sniper fire or IED or mortar activity, and other actions. Somewhere those reports are consolidated, collected, collated, verified, certified, bonafide, modified, nullified, magnified, glorified, ratified, solidified, rectified ... and ultimately sent back Stateside where they reside inside the mazes and catacombs and other dark hiding places of the various intelligence agencies.

SOMEbody knows how many ragheads have given up their despicable habit of fouling the world's breathing air with their vainglorious cries to the fake moon god and his pedophile prophet.

Since we're footing the bill for this little "all about oil" foreign adventure, why are we forbidden knowledge of the figures so we can put the numbers of our own dead into proper perspective? I mean, really, isn't the whole idea of war to eliminate the enemy's combatants, disrupt his supply lines, destroy his machinery, and reduce his ability to pursue his agenda?

In most other wars, that's what the news tended to report -- how many troops, planes, ships, tanks, weapons, and materials the enemy lost compared to how many we lost in a given operation.

WTF, O?

Another first for the Army and an ominous one for the ragheads.
