Why Jew-haters love Ron Paul

When you want an answer to a question like that... well, you can only get an answer from the 110th Congress:

H CON RES 21
BILL TITLE: Calling on the United Nations Security Council to charge Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with violating the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the United Nations Charter because of his calls for the destruction of the State of Israel

Final Vote: 411 YEAS, 2 NAYS, 11 “PRESENT,” 8 NV.

Who are those two “nays?” None other than Congressmen Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

H RES 548
BILL TITLE: Expressing the ongoing concern of the House of Representatives for Lebanon’s democratic institutions and unwavering support for the administration of justice upon those responsible for the assassination of Lebanese public figures opposing Syrian control of Lebanon.

Final Vote: 415 YEAS, 2 NAYS, 15 NV.

Who are those two “nays?” Again, Congressmen Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

H RES 557
BILL TITLE: Strongly condemning the United Nations Human Rights Council for ignoring severe human rights abuses in various countries, while choosing to unfairly target Israel by including it as the only country permanently placed on the Council’s agenda

Final Vote: 416 YEAS, 2 NAYS, 14 NV.

Who are those two “nays?” You guessed it–Congressmen Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

I found that over MVRWC, where Beth asks... "So is Ron Paul anti-Semitic? Racist?" and answers... "Maybe, maybe not. He sure votes like someone who is, but that may be purely coincidental."

Beth has more. Run over and read it, and don't miss the comments.

Ron Paul consistently votes against all bills which involve the United States government meddling in the affairs of other nations, on the grounds that the US government exists to serve the American people, and not to play scowling church lady for the entire planet.

Maybe at some point Congress will have a resolution condemning the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.

I have been posting this on serveral sites:

Ron Paul/Dennis Kucinich '08
"An Ostrich egg in every muffler,
A cotton ball on every moped.
"

I used to use "'cause if it is going to be F'ed up, go all the way."

I know this is very off-topic, but I just got off Pat Dollard's site and watched a US Marine being extraordinarily abusive to some insurgents. For a real good laugh, see:

Joe Schembrie has it correct, when he notes that Ron Paul votes against bills that involve U.S. meddling. For example, I looked up some resolutions on Burma.

For example, House concurrent resolution 200, "Condemning the violent suppression of Buddhist monks and other peaceful demonstrators in Burma and calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi." passed 414-2 with 17 NV. Ron Paul was one of the no votes; the other was another Republican, Lee Terry of Nebraska. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2007-931

When it hasn't been something that Paul could consider meddling, he has voted for it:

In the last Congress Ron Paul voted aye to:

"Congratulate Ambassador Dan Gillerman, Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and the Government and people of the State of Israel on Israel's election as Vice-President of the 60th General Assembly of the United Nations." http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2005-550

As well as on recognizing the 57th and 58th anniversaries of the founding of the State of Israel. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2005-202 and http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2006-112)

Ron Paul's views are based not in anti-Semitism, but in a view that the nation's affairs should end at the nation's borders. It's a view that has a long and honored history in the U.S. It dates back to George Washington's "The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connexion as possible." from his Farewell Address.

Unfortunately, it is an ideal IMO, is no longer realistic. What worked when transportation and communication from overseas was a matter of weeks and months, no longer works in a present when communication is instant and transportation a matter of hours.

Ron Paul is a throwback to an older, simpler time, but he is an anti-Semite. The anti-Semites who are cheering him are doing so, because they see the affects of his beliefs, not because they share his virtues.
